What is Supplementaries?

1 part

Same as in the All the Mods 10 5.5 guide

Supplementaries is a Vanilla+ mod that fills the gaps in vanilla Minecraft. You get jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters, lights, plus a big pile of decoration and some automation blocks. The goal is content that is useful, looks good, and fits alongside what the game already has.[1]

It's a great pick if you like building and want your base to feel more alive without leaving the vanilla style. Its blocks blend in with existing content instead of replacing it, so they work in nearly any build.[1]

In this pack

All the Mods 10 5.5 ships Supplementaries version 1.21-3.5.17 as the NeoForge build. It has been part of the pack since All the Mods 10 2.25 or earlier, so it's a long-standing piece of the pack.[2]

Supplementaries depends on Moonlight Library and is highly configurable, so individual features can be switched off or adjusted. If a block acts differently than you expect, the pack's config may have changed it.[1]

Tip: Want to see who made the mod's art? Put a written book named credits into a Notice Board and you can browse the contributor list right in-game.[1]

Unverified No confirmed source shows where Supplementaries fits in this pack's progression or whether any of its items are part of a progression chain, so treat it as an optional building and quality-of-life mod you can use whenever you like.

How do you get started with Supplementaries?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide

Supplementaries is a Vanilla+ mod. It fills the gaps vanilla leaves with jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters, lights, decoration and automation blocks. It needs Moonlight Library to run, and almost every feature can be configured, so a pack can tweak things away from the defaults.[1]

The good news for your first session: the Supplementaries recipes shown here are all ordinary crafting-table recipes. You don't need any special machines, so you can dive in right after your first night.[3]

Check the Altimeter first

The Altimeter is the one recipe here that All the Mods 10 has changed from the mod's own version. If you've watched older videos or played the mod outside this pack, don't trust your memory for this one. Use the in-pack recipe below.[3]

Jars

Jars are one of the mod's headline features. Once you have a Jar, you can also turn it into a Boat in a Jar.[1][3]

Decorating your first base

Craft a plain Awning first. Every coloured awning, like the Red Awning or Blue Awning, is a shapeless recolour of that plain one.[3]

supplementaries:bunting has two recipes for every colour: a shapeless recolour of existing bunting, and a shaped recipe that makes it from scratch.[3]

Things to look out for

  • The mod has a Wrench for rotating blocks, handy for fine-tuning your builds.[4]
  • A Turn Table can rotate you, not just blocks.[4]
  • The mod's way sign advancement is literally called Follow me to find a village, so keep an eye out for signposts while you explore.[4]

How does Supplementaries work?

3 parts

Supplementaries isn't a big tech mod with power grids and giant machines. It's a Vanilla+ mod that fills the gaps vanilla leaves, with jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters, lights, decoration and some automation blocks. Everything is meant to be useful, look good, and fit with what's already in the game, so you'll mostly find small blocks and tools that each do one job. It also needs Moonlight Library to run.[1]

Unverified The available sources don't explain how the mod's automation blocks work in detail, including faucets, jars, spring launchers and how they move items or fluids. This section only covers mechanics that could be confirmed. Test these blocks in-game before building a setup that depends on them.

Rotating blocks and yourself

There are two handy rotation tools. The Wrench rotates a block you use it on, which helps you fix a block that got placed facing the wrong way. The Turn Table can rotate things too, including you if you stand on it. Each of these unlocks an advancement, so they're worth trying early.[5]

Status effects and enchantments

The mod adds its own effects and enchantments, and they interact with fire and movement in ways you'll want to know about.[5]

  • Flammable is an effect that makes you burn for longer when you catch fire, and it spreads fire as you walk. Don't wander through your wooden base with it.[5]
  • Overencumbered stops you from sprinting. Higher levels also reduce your jump height and then your walking speed.[5]
  • Lumisene Fire Aspect makes a weapon deal extra lumisene fire damage when you attack a mob.[5]
  • Lumisene Flame makes arrows fired from your bow deal extra lumisene fire damage.[5]
  • Stasis lets projectiles fired from a Slingshot ignore gravity, so your shots fly straight.[5]

Crafting the functional pieces

Most Supplementaries recipes in this pack are the mod's own, but some have been changed. The Altimeter is one of them: this pack uses its own recipe for it, so check the recipe below instead of trusting an older guide or video.[6]

Unverified The sources don't describe what the Bellows or the Altimeter actually do, so their exact behavior is unconfirmed here.

The Jar is also used in other recipes. For example, you can combine it with any boat to make a Boat in a Jar, a nice decoration piece.[6]

How do you progress through Supplementaries?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide

Supplementaries doesn't have a tier ladder in the pack's recipes. The recipes covered here are all regular shaped or shapeless crafting table recipes, so you can build these items as soon as you have the materials. Many of them take tag-based ingredients, which means other mods' versions of common materials usually work too.[3]

The pack's change: the Altimeter

This pack changed the recipe for the Altimeter. If you're following an older video or a guide for the plain mod, check the in-pack recipe below rather than the default one.[3]

Most of these are cheap, one-step crafts you can make in your first few days. Nothing on this list needs another Supplementaries item first.[3]

Two-step items: craft the base, then upgrade it

A few Supplementaries items are made from another Supplementaries item. Craft the base version first, then use it in a second recipe.[3]

  1. Craft a plain Awning. Then combine it with any dye in a shapeless recipe to get a colored version, such as the Red Awning or Light Blue Awning.[3]
  2. Craft a plain Candle Holder, then dye it. You can also craft colored versions like the Black Candle Holder directly from a colored candle.[3]
  3. supplementaries:bunting can be crafted straight from colored wool, or re-dyed later with a shapeless dye recipe.[3]
  4. Craft a Jar first, then combine it with any boat to make a Boat in a Jar.[3]

Building block sets

The decorative block families follow the usual pattern: craft the full block, then turn it into slabs, stairs and walls. Start with Ash Brick to make Ash Bricks. From those you get the Ash Brick Slab, Ash Brick Stairs and Ash Brick Wall.[3]

Blackstone Tiles works the same way. Once you have the tiles, you can craft the Blackstone Tile Slab, Blackstone Tile Stairs and Blackstone Tile Wall.[3]

Unverified This section covers only part of the mod's recipes in this pack. Other Supplementaries items and any further recipe changes by the pack aren't listed here, so check the recipe viewer in-game for anything missing. How does Supplementaries work with other mods?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.36 guide

Supplementaries connects with Farmer's Delight in this pack through one crafting recipe. The Planter can be made with Rich Soil, so if you're already farming with Farmer's Delight, your soil can go toward Supplementaries decor.[7]

Planter recipe that uses Farmer's Delight Rich Soil

This is a shaped crafting recipe that comes with Supplementaries itself. The pack has not added or changed it. It is the only recipe in this pack that links Supplementaries with another mod.[7]

Planters are one of the Vanilla+ decoration blocks that Supplementaries adds, next to jars, signposts, sconces and more.[1]

Unverified The sources don't say whether this is the only way to craft a Planter in this pack, or whether a Planter made this way behaves differently from one made another way.

Which Supplementaries config options matter?

Supplementaries is built to be picked apart: it's a highly configurable mod, and almost every feature it adds can be tweaked or switched off if you don't want it in your world.[1]

The mod's own documentation groups these toggles into a customization section, and the author points players there (or to the mod's Discord) when they want to disable or adjust an individual feature rather than the whole mod.[1]

Unverified We couldn't confirm any Supplementaries config overrides for this pack, so we can't list specific values here. Treat the in-game config screen as the source of truth for your install, and check it before assuming a feature is on or off.

What changed in Supplementaries between versions?

5 parts

All the Mods 10 2.11 ships Supplementaries 1.21-3.0.28-beta, the NeoForge build. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 1.20 or earlier. The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so everything below comes from the mod's own changelogs.[8]

Every one of these changelogs opens with the note "CHECK 3.0.0 PATCH NOTES!!". Those 3.0.0 notes are not in the sources I have, so I can't tell you what changed in that big release.[9][10][11][12][13]

3.0.28-beta (the version in this pack)

  • Book piles are disabled even more.[9]
  • Fixed a lectern crash when removing a book.[9]
  • Fixed trinket slot tags being broken.[9]

3.0.25-beta

  • Updated the soul fired compat.[10]

3.0.23-beta

  • The soap block now checks a tag when checking for feather falling.[11]
  • Fixed some serialization failing on LAN in NeoForge.[11]
  • Fixed the sus sand and gravel bricks recipe duplicating some items in some cases.[11]
  • Fixed the sus sand and gravel recipe not crafting a valid block because of a mismatched component.[11]
  • Fixed cage capturing duplicating cage items when more than 1 was used, and fixed the cage item component not initializing its internal entity for the renderer.[11]
  • Planter fixes: bamboo is now offset when on a planter, and twisting vines can be placed on one despite its collision shape.[11]
  • Fixed urns dropping themselves without silk touch.[11]

3.0.21-beta

  • Fixed a server crash caused by the previous update.[12]

3.0.13-alpha

  • Fixed jars with fishes not rendering correctly.[13]
  • Awning models are now 3D.[13]
  • Fixed hat stands not accepting items.[13]
