What is Oritech?
1 part
Oritech is a tech mod built around animated, mostly multiblock machines. It covers ore processing chains, automated farming, electric tools and armor, item, fluid and energy pipes, drones that move items over long distances, lasers that mine blocks for you, cybernetic player augmentation and even particle accelerators. Machine upgrades come from addon blocks you attach to the machines. This pack ships Oritech 0.19.4.[1][2]
The mod is for you if you like building big, automated bases. It is designed so you usually have more than one way to get a given material, for example plastic from farming items or from oil processing. It also aims for renewable fuel and items, using large farms and the bedrock extractor for late-game metals. Pipes are simple: there is only 1 tier for each pipe type.[1]
Where it fits in this pack
Oritech has its own quest chapter. It starts you off with the Primitive Machine Core, generators such as the Basic Generator, the Pulverizer and the Centrifuge, plus pipes and energy storage. From there, quests walk you up the machine cores, from the Primitive Machine Core to the Ultra Machine Core. They also introduce the addon blocks and the Atomic Forge.[3]
Oritech is also part of the ATM Star path. In Chapter 3, the quest "Oritech" quest asks you to bring a Magnetic Coil to get started. The quest warns that you will need many machines, many different alloys and materials, and lots of time.[4]
The next quest on that path is "Manhattan Module" quest, which asks for the Manhattan Module. Its quest text describes a long chain: you make Fluxite and plutonium, then use the Atomic Forge and Adamant Ingot to engrave a Heisenberg Compensator. One route to that part runs through the Super AI Chip. Plan your base for a lot of silicon.[4]
How do you get started with Oritech?
5 parts
Oritech is a tech mod known for multiblock machines, dangerous blocks and colorful blocks. The pack's quest book is blunt about it: you'll need a bunch of machines, many different alloys and materials, and lots of time. The very first thing it asks for is a Magnetic Coil, so that's where we start.[4]
Step 1: Magnetic Coil and Motor
The opening quest "Oritech" quest wants a Magnetic Coil. The next quest in the Oritech chapter wants 2 Magnetic Coils and 2 Motor, and the Assembler quest only unlocks after that. Both recipes are listed under the assembler recipe type.[3][4][5]

Step 2: Get some power
The Basic Generator has its own quest in the Oritech chapter, and Oritech's own advancement for it is about generating some serious power. The quest book also has separate quests for the Bio Generator, Fuel Generator and Lava Generator. For moving power around, the energy pipe quest covers Energy Pipe, Framed Energy Pipe and Energy Pipe Duct.[3][6]
Step 3: Pulverizer and Centrifuge
The Pulverizer turns your ores into dust, and the Centrifuge separates the good from the bad. Both have their own quests, and the Fragment Forge quest opens after the Pulverizer one.[3][6]
One early Centrifuge job is making [[item:oritech:carbon_fibre_strands}}, which you'll want again soon: the pack's Improved Machine Core recipe uses them. The pack changed the Immersive Engineering version of this recipe, so graphite dust from that mod can also feed it.[5]
Centrifuge (oritech)

Step 4: Spinning clumps into gems
The quest "Spinning into gems" quest explains the gem route. Put a Fluid Addon on a Centrifuge and you can feed it Sulphuric Acid. Clumps processed with that acid give gems. Water works too, but with a lower yield.[3]

Step 5: Machine cores and Fluxite
The Oritech chapter has a chain of machine core quests. They run from the Primitive Machine Core through the Basic Machine Core and Improved Machine Core up to the Ultra Machine Core.[3]
In this pack, the Improved Machine Core uses a pack-added crafting recipe. It needs the Carbon Fibre Strands from step 3 and a Block of Fluxite.[5]

The pack changed how you get Fluxite. Amethyst can be turned into it by energizing (Powah) or by charging (Applied Energistics 2). Platinum clumps in the Centrifuge also give Fluxite.[4][5]
The pack also adds its own recipe for the Machine Addon Extender, which uses the Improved Machine Core.[5]

How does Oritech work?
8 parts
Oritech is built around animated multiblock machines. You don't get one giant upgrade menu. Instead, you attach addon blocks to a machine to change how it behaves. This section covers the parts of that system the sources actually explain.[1]
Machines and addons
Machines are mostly animated multiblocks, and upgrades are implemented as addon blocks. The addons in this pack include the Acceptor Addon, Burst Addon, Capacitor Addon, Efficiency Addon, Fluid Addon, Inventory Proxy Addon, Hunter Addon, Crop Filter Addon and Auxiliary Processing Chamber Addon. Their in-pack recipes are shown below, and the Burst Addon is covered further down because the pack changed it.[1][5]

The advancement for the ultimate machine core says it lets you add "excessive addons". That suggests better machine cores give you more room for addons. The exact addon slot counts are not in the sources, so I won't guess at them.[6]
Machine cores and the addon extender
The pack has its own recipe for the Improved Machine Core. It was added by the pack's scripts, so don't assume it matches the mod's default.[5]

The Machine Addon Extender is also crafted with a pack-added recipe, and it uses the improved core you just made.[5]

Pipes and logistics
Oritech has item, fluid and energy pipes, and each type has only one tier. Pipes are generally fast. Pipe blocks only get block entities where needed, for example when they connect to machines. All networks are cached, and network updates are only sent when needed.[1]
For long-distance item transport, the mod also has drones that move items across vast distances.[1]
If you want to push items into a machine through a different block, look at the Inventory Proxy Addon. Its name suggests it exposes the machine's inventory, but the sources don't describe how it works, so test it in a creative world first.[5]
Laser and destroyer block breaking
The mod has a laser arm block for automatically mining blocks. Its advancement text mentions mining fluxite with it. A config option applies to both the destroyer block and the Enderic Laser: a lower value means block hardness has less effect on break speed.[1][6]
Reactors and particle accelerators
Oritech includes a buildable nuclear reactor and particle accelerators. Two parts of those multiblocks have recipes in the sources: the Reactor Coolant Absorber Port and the Particle Accelerator Guide Ring.[1][5][6]

Renewable resources
The mod aims to give you several ways to get the same thing. Plastic, for example, can come from farming items or from oil processing. Many things are meant to be renewable through large automated farms, and metals can come from the bedrock extractor. Naturally spawned resource nodes feed those extractors, and oil wells are there to push you into building auxiliary bases and shipping items to a central hub.[1]
Augments
The mod also adds cybernetic player augments. Many of them can be toggled from the augment interface, such as night vision, the magnet, the ore finder and step assist. Others are permanent bonuses, such as armor points, extra health and attack damage.[1][6]
Unverified The mod has a config option for whether addon bonuses stack additively or multiplicatively. The pack's setting is unknown because no config files for this mod were available, so I can't say which mode is active.
How do you progress through Oritech?
6 parts
Oritech is a big tech mod, and in this pack the quest book lays out a path through it. The Oritech quest "Oritech" quest tells you to expect lots of machines, many alloys and materials, and a lot of time. You start by getting a Magnetic Coil.[4]
The quests currently don't give Oritech named tiers. Instead they chain the six machine cores in order, and the machines and materials you unlock hang off that chain. I'll walk through it in that order.[3]
Machine cores
In the quest chapter as it currently stands, each core quest unlocks after the one before it: Primitive Machine Core (a quest in "Oritech"), Basic Machine Core (a quest in "Oritech"), Improved Machine Core (a quest in "Oritech"), Advanced Machine Core (a quest in "Oritech"), Elite Machine Core (a quest in "Oritech") and finally Ultra Machine Core (a quest in "Oritech").[3]
The Improved Machine Core recipe is one the pack added. The Machine Addon Extender recipe, which is built from that core, was added by the pack too.[5]

Early game: Assembler, Pulverizer and Centrifuge
The Assembler quest (a quest in "Oritech") currently unlocks only after you finish a quest asking for 2 Magnetic Coil and 2 Motor (a quest in "Oritech"). The Assembler is also where the Processing Unit quest (a quest in "Oritech") and the Plutonium Pellet quest (a quest in "Oritech") continue from.[3]

In the quest chapter as it currently stands, the Pulverizer (a quest in "Oritech") leads on to the Fragment Forge. The Centrifuge (a quest in "Oritech") leads to the Enderic Compound quest and the Fluid Addon quest. Carbon Fibre Strands (a quest in "Oritech") need both the Pulverizer and the Centrifuge quests done first. The generator, energy storage and pipe quests all unlock straight after the same chapter entry quest as the first machine core.[3]
The Foundry quest (a quest in "Oritech") currently also asks for 4 Adamant Ingot. These recipes show two ways to get them from Adamant Dust:[3]
Gems from clumps
The quest "Spinning into gems" quest explains the gem route. Put a Fluid Addon on a Centrifuge so you can feed it Sulfuric Acid, and processing clumps with the acid gives you gems. Water also works, but with a lower yield. The quest also warns that some recipes that output dusts or nuggets are currently broken.[3][5]
Mid game: Duratium and the Atomic Forge
The Atomic Forge (a quest in "Oritech") is the big gate. In the quest chapter as it currently stands, it only unlocks once you've finished three quests: 8 Duratium Ingot (a quest in "Oritech"), Enderic Compound (a quest in "Oritech") and the Flux Gate (a quest in "Oritech"). The Flux Gate quest itself comes after the quest for 4 Fluxite (a quest in "Oritech") and the Processing Unit quest.[3]
The pack changed how you get several of these. Enderic Compound has a pack-changed Centrifuge recipe. Fluxite has pack-changed recipes for AE2's charger and Powah energizing, and the quest text mentions energizing Amethyst Shards. Duratium Ingots can come from pack-changed alloying recipes in other mods or from Productive Metalworks casting.[4][5]

Late game: silicon, AI chips and the Manhattan Module
After the Atomic Forge, the quest line currently runs through these steps in order:[3]
- Make 8 Silicon Wafer (a quest in "Oritech"). You can make them in the Atomic Forge, or in a fluid Centrifuge with Silicon Wash.[3][5]
- The quest book currently asks next for 4 Advanced Computing Engine (a quest in "Oritech"), crafted in the Atomic Forge.[3][5]
- After that it currently asks for 2 Super AI Chip (a quest in "Oritech"), also from the Atomic Forge.[3][5]
- Then it currently asks for the Heisenberg Compensator (a quest in "Oritech").[3]
- The quest for 2 Plutonium Pellet (a quest in "Oritech") currently unlocks back at the Assembler.[3]
- The final quest currently asks for the Manhattan Module (a quest in "Oritech"), which unlocks after the pellets and the compensator.[3]
The quest text for the Manhattan Module ("Manhattan Module" quest) says it needs TNT, Plutonium Pellets and Heisenberg Compensators.[4]
The Heisenberg Compensator has two recipes. One uses the Super AI Chip. The other uses Unholy Intelligence, which the quest text says comes from filling a Dubious Container with Strange Matter. You get Strange Matter from a Fluid Refinery with 2 extra chambers attached. The refinery quest (a quest in "Oritech") currently asks for the Refinery and 2 Refinery Chamber Module.[3][4][5]
For the pellets you need Plutonium Dust. The quest text describes a route with Fluxite and Uranium Dust in a Particle Accelerator. The pack also changed a Powah energizing recipe that turns Uranite Crystal into Plutonium Dust. The Assembler has three Plutonium Pellet recipes, which differ in the ingot they use.[4][5]

Addons along the way
In the quest chapter as it currently stands, most addon quests open together after one shared earlier quest: Speed, Efficiency, Capacitor, Acceptor, Fluid and the Machine Addon Extender. The Auxiliary Processing Chamber Addon is in that group too. The Fluid Addon also has its own quest right after the Centrifuge. The Hunter Addon comes later, after the Enderic Laser quest (a quest in "Oritech").[3]
How does Oritech work with other mods?
5 parts
Oritech connects to the rest of the pack mostly through ore and metal processing. Every connecting recipe here is marked as changed by the pack, so what follows is the pack's version of Oritech, not the mod's default. The mod's own design goal is to give you several ways to get the same thing, and the cross-mod recipes fit that idea.[1][5]
AllTheOres: Oritech's main output
Many Oritech machines in this pack output AllTheOres items instead of Oritech's own: raw ores, clumps, dusts and ingots.[5]
- The Pulverizer turns raw nickel into Nickel Dust plus Small Nickel Dust. Copper, gold, iron and platinum work the same way.[3][5]
- Deep drill recipes turn the Nickel Resource Node, Platinum Resource Node and Uranium Resource Node into Raw Nickel, Raw Platinum and Raw Uranium.[5]
- The Atomic Forge turns a metal gem plus Fluxite into the matching AllTheOres dust, for example Copper Gem into Copper Dust.[3][5]
- The Foundry turns Nickel Gem and Platinum Gem into Nickel Ingot and Platinum Ingot. Smelting or blasting those gems does the same, and so does a Create mixer.[3][5]
- Crafting combines small Oritech clumps and dusts into the full AllTheOres versions, for example Small Iron Clump into Iron Clump.[5]
Productive Metalworks
Productive Metalworks is the deepest link. Oritech gems, small clumps and small dusts all melt into its molten metals, such as Molten Nickel from Nickel Gem. Several Oritech alloys can then be made as molten fluids and cast into ingots with an Ingot Cast.[5]
- Molten Adamant comes from molten diamond and molten nickel.[5]
- Molten Biosteel comes from Oritech's Biofuel and molten iron, and casts into Biosteel Ingot.[5]
- Molten Duratium comes from molten netherite and molten platinum, and casts into Duratium Ingot.[5]
- Molten Energite comes from Molten Fluxite and molten nickel, and casts into Energite Ingot.[5]
- A Gem Cast turns molten fluxite into Fluxite, and biofuel into Biomass.[5]

Mekanism, Create and Immersive Engineering
Mekanism's metallurgic infusing can make Adamant Dust and Biosteel Dust. It also gets osmium into Oritech chains: a centrifuge turns any osmium clump into Osmium Dust plus Small Platinum Dust, and a grinder turns raw osmium into clumps and nuggets.[5]

The centrifuge also has fluid versions that use Sulfuric Acid on clumps. They give you Lead Dust, Osmium Dust, Tin Dust or Zinc Nugget, plus Mineral Slurry.[5]
The Refinery takes Sheol Fire and raw zinc, aluminum, lead or silver. You get back zinc clump or the matching dust, plus lava. Immersive Engineering also feeds the centrifuge: HOP Graphite Dust becomes Carbon Fibre Strands.[3][5]
Fuel, plastic and pipes
- Turbofuel can be made in the centrifuge from Fluxite with either Industrial Foregoing's Biofuel or PneumaticCraft's Crude Oil.[5]
- The Oritech cooler accepts PneumaticCraft's Molten Plastic and gives you Plastic Sheet.[5]

The rest of the recipe mixes in other mods, such as the ME Quantum Ring, the Lightning Bomb and the Stable Wormhole.
In the ATM Star chapter of the quest book, the quest "Oritech" quest introduces Oritech, and "Manhattan Module" quest comes right after it and covers the Manhattan Module.[4]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Oritech?
6 parts
Oritech shows up in two places in the quest book: a dedicated Oritech chapter, and a short stretch in Chapter 3: The ATM Star. Most Oritech quests are untitled and just ask you to hold an item, so this section follows what each one asks for and which quest it comes after.[3][4]
Chapter 3: The ATM Star
- "Oritech" quest is the Oritech quest in this chapter. It asks for a Magnetic Coil and describes Oritech as a tech mod with lots of multiblock machines and dangerous blocks. It warns that you will need many machines, alloys and materials, and lots of time.[4]
- "Manhattan Module" quest comes right after it and asks for the Manhattan Module. Its text walks through the route: energizing Amethyst Shards makes Fluxite, which goes into a Particle Accelerator with Uranium Dust to make Plutonium Dust, and that becomes Plutonium Pellets.[4]
- The same quest says the Heisenberg Compensator has two recipes, and both are engraved in the Atomic Forge with Adamant Ingots. One uses Unholy Intelligence, made from Strange Matter, which comes from a Fluid Refinery with 2 extra chambers. The other uses the Super AI Chip, which needs a recipe tree of engraving and lots of silicon.[4]
The Oritech chapter: first steps
A big group of quests in this chapter all come after the same earlier quest, so there is no single forced order among them. They cover power, pipes and the first machines.[3]
- Power: a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Basic Generator, a quest in "Oritech" for the Fuel Generator, a quest in "Oritech" for the Lava Generator and a quest in "Oritech" for the Bio Generator. a quest in "Oritech" wants both the Portable Energy Storage and the Large Energy Storage.[3]
- Pipes: a quest in "Oritech" covers the Energy Pipe, the Framed Energy Pipe and the Energy Pipe Duct. a quest in "Oritech" asks for 6 Fluid Pipe, a Framed Fluid Pipe, a Fluid Pipe Duct and a Portable Tank. a quest in "Oritech" covers the item pipes and the Item Filter. a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Pipe Booster.[3]
- Machines: a quest in "Oritech" is the Pulverizer, a quest in "Oritech" the Centrifuge, a quest in "Oritech" the Drone Port and a quest in "Oritech" the Nuclear Reactor Controller. a quest in "Oritech" wants the Foundry and 4 Adamant Ingot.[3]
Machine cores
The core quests form one straight line: a quest in "Oritech" (the Primitive Machine Core), then a quest in "Oritech" (Basic Machine Core), a quest in "Oritech" (Improved Machine Core), a quest in "Oritech" (Advanced Machine Core), a quest in "Oritech" (Elite Machine Core) and finally a quest in "Oritech" (Ultra Machine Core).[3]
Gems and the centrifuge
- a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Fragment Forge after the pulverizer quest. a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Fluid Addon after the centrifuge quest.[3]
- a quest in "Oritech" comes after both of those and accepts any one gem: iron, platinum, gold, copper, nickel or uranium. a quest in "Oritech" asks for 4 Carbon Fibre Strands and needs both the pulverizer and centrifuge quests.[3]
- "Spinning into gems" quest also asks for a gem. Its text says a fluid addon on a centrifuge lets you feed in Sulphuric Acid to turn clumps into gems, and that Water works for a lower yield. It also notes that some recipes which output dusts or nuggets are currently broken.[3]
The road to the Manhattan Module
- a quest in "Oritech" asks for 2 Magnetic Coil and 2 Motor. It leads to a quest in "Oritech" for the Assembler, which opens a quest in "Oritech" (the Processing Unit) and a quest in "Oritech" (2 Plutonium Pellet).[3]
- a quest in "Oritech" needs the assembler and foundry quests done, and asks for the Enderic Laser and the Target Designator. It opens a quest in "Oritech" (Hunter Addon), a quest in "Oritech" (Plutonium Dust) and a quest in "Oritech" (4 Fluxite).[3]
- a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Flux Gate once the fluxite and processing unit quests are done. a quest in "Oritech" then asks for the Atomic Forge, after the flux gate quest, a quest in "Oritech" (8 Duratium Ingot) and a quest in "Oritech" (Enderic Compound).[3]
- The last stretch runs a quest in "Oritech" (8 Silicon Wafer), a quest in "Oritech" (4 Advanced Computing Engine), a quest in "Oritech" (2 Super AI Chip) and a quest in "Oritech" (the Heisenberg Compensator). It ends with a quest in "Oritech", the Manhattan Module itself, which also needs the plutonium pellet quest.[3]
Addons and refinery
A group of addon quests ask for the Capacitor Addon (a quest in "Oritech"), Auxiliary Processing Chamber Addon (a quest in "Oritech"), Acceptor Addon (a quest in "Oritech"), Efficiency Addon (a quest in "Oritech"), Machine Addon Extender (a quest in "Oritech"), Speed Addon (a quest in "Oritech") and another Fluid Addon (a quest in "Oritech"). They all come after the same earlier quest. Separately, a quest in "Oritech" asks for the Refinery and 2 Refinery Chamber Module.[3]
What changed in Oritech between versions?
1 part
Oritech has been in All the Mods 10 since the 4.0 release, and the pack has bumped it several times since. The pack changelogs only record the version bumps, so this section is a timeline of which Oritech version shipped when, not a list of what changed in each one.[7][8][9][10][11]
Oritech versions by pack release
- All the Mods 10 4.0: Oritech 0.16.2 was added to the pack.[7]
- All the Mods 10 4.5: updated from 0.16.2 to 0.17.3.[8]
- All the Mods 10 4.12: updated from 0.17.3 to 0.18.1.[9]
- All the Mods 10 4.13: updated from 0.18.1 to 0.18.2.[10]
- All the Mods 10 4.15: updated from 0.18.2 to 0.19.4.[11]
All the Mods 10 5.0 ships Oritech 0.19.4, using the NeoForge jar for Minecraft 1.21.1. That is the same version the pack moved to in 4.15.[2][11]
Unverified The notes for what each Oritech update added, removed or rebalanced (new machines, recipe changes, config changes) are not available, because no changelogs are stored for the shipped jars. Check the mod's own release notes before assuming a specific feature or recipe changed between these versions.
