What is Create: Enchantment Industry?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Create: Enchantment Industry adds more tools and methods for handling experience and enchanting inside Create. Its project page says the mod currently offers these, so if you like automating everything with belts, spouts and deployers, you can automate enchanting too.[1]

The pack includes version 2.5.3b of the mod.[2]

What it adds

The project page lists what the mod currently offers. These are the features that matter most for a Create player:[1]

  • Liquid Experience, listed as a current feature: high-density experience that is easy to store and transport.[1]
  • Experience Hatch, listed as a current feature: lets you interact with a fluid tank directly, using your own experience.[1]
  • Mechanical Grindstone, listed as a current feature: a fully automated Grindstone with an extra sanding function.[1]
  • Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger, listed as current features: a blaze acts as a smart enchanting table and as a smart anvil.[1]
  • Printer, listed as a current feature: copies written books, enchanted books, name tags, train schedules and more.[1]
  • Experience Lantern, listed as a current feature: absorbs experience and also works on contraptions.[1]
  • Hyper-enchantmechanism, listed as a current feature: lets you break the limits of enchantments.[1]
  • Mending on belt: items with Mending can be repaired using a Spout and Liquid Experience.[1]
  • Deployer and Crushing Wheel tweak, listed as current features: their kills drop experience nuggets. Deployers also benefit from a sword with Sweeping Edge.[1]

The page also lists, among the features it currently offers, Apotheosis integration such as the Brass Bookshelf, Infuser and Gem Cutter, and an optional Classic Blaze Enchanter from the old v1.0 mod.[1]

Tip: The project page describes the mod in general, so its feature list may not match version 2.5.3b exactly. Check in game before you plan a build around a specific machine.[1][2]

Where it fits in the pack

Unverified The sources I have don't show any quests for this mod, and the mod isn't on the ATM Star path. There is also no in-jar guidebook to confirm progression details, so I can't say at what stage of the pack you're meant to reach it.

How do you get started with Create: Enchantment Industry?

4 parts

This mod adds tools for handling experience and enchanting with Create. Nearly everything runs on Liquid Experience, a high-density form of experience that is easy to store and move around. Your first goal is to get some of it flowing.[1]

Step 1: Build a Mechanical Grindstone

Make the Mechanical Grindstone first. It is a fully automated grindstone, and it turns Nugget of Experience and Block of Experience into Liquid Experience. That makes it your main experience source.[1][3]

You need something to feed it. With this mod installed, kills made by a Deployer or a Crushing Wheel drop experience nuggets, so a simple mob farm built with Create keeps the grindstone busy.[1]

There are other ways to get Liquid Experience too. You can empty a Experience Bottle to get Liquid Experience back plus a glass bottle. If you play with other mods, Experience Droplet can be emptied, and Experience Gem and Greater Experience Gem can be ground into it.[3]

Tip: Grab an Experience Hatch early. It connects to a fluid tank so you can store your own experience there and take it back out whenever you need it.[1][4]

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:item_application/experience_hatch

Step 2: Your first Blaze Enchanter

Once you have Liquid Experience stored, build a Blaze Enchanter. It works like an Enchanting Table, and Liquid Experience is what activates it. Before enchanting, set the enchant level on its panel. For comparison, a vanilla enchanting table caps out at 30.[4]

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:smithing/blaze_enchanter

Watch out: Don't just crank the level to the maximum. Some enchantments won't appear at all when the enchanting level is too high.[4]

If you want a specific kind of enchantment, use Template Enchanting Mode. Right-click the panel slot with an item, for example diamond chest armor, and the enchanter will only produce enchantments that item supports. Different materials and item types give different results.[4]

Step 3: Templates and the Blaze Forger

In Template Enchanting Mode, the Blaze Enchanter can put enchantments onto a blank Enchanting Template. You can then apply that template to an item with a Blaze Forger. The Blaze Forger works like a smart anvil: it can combine two items of the same kind and strip enchantments off items.[1][4]

Handy extras

  • The Experience Lantern absorbs experience, and it also works on contraptions.[1]
  • The Printer copies written books, enchanted books, name tags, train schedules and more.[1]
  • You can repair items enchanted with Mending on a belt by using a Spout with Liquid Experience.[1]
  • A Mechanical Arm can automate the Blaze Enchanter. It can insert items, feed experience fuel and pull out the finished items.[4]

How does Create: Enchantment Industry work?

6 parts

Everything in this mod runs on one resource: Liquid Experience. It is a high-density fluid version of experience that is easy to store and move around. That means you handle your XP the Create way, with pipes, tanks and spouts, instead of carrying it around on your character.[1]

Getting Liquid Experience

The Mechanical Grindstone is a fully automated grindstone that can also sand items. Feed it an enchanted item and it disenchants it, and the experience comes out as fluid. It also grinds Nuggets and Blocks of Experience, plus the mod's own Super Experience nuggets and blocks, straight into Liquid Experience.[1][3][4]

  • Emptying an experience bottle gives you Liquid Experience and returns the glass bottle.[3]
  • This pack includes cross-mod recipes. You can empty Mystical Agriculture's Experience Droplet into Liquid Experience, and the Mechanical Grindstone turns Ars Nouveau's Experience Gem and Greater Experience Gem into Liquid Experience.[3]
  • Mobs killed by a Deployer or Crushing Wheel drop Nuggets of Experience, which you can then grind down.[1]

To move your own XP in and out of the system, use the Experience Hatch. It connects directly to a fluid tank, so you can deposit your experience or take some back. You make it by applying a Block of Experience to a Fluid Hatch.[1][3][4]

The Experience Lantern absorbs experience, and it also works when mounted on a contraption.[1]

Blaze Enchanter

The Blaze Enchanter is a Blaze Burner that works like an enchanting table. Supply it with Liquid Experience to activate it. Before it will enchant anything, you have to set the enchant level on its panel. For comparison, a vanilla enchanting table caps out at 30.[4]

Blaze EnchanterMod recipe

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:smithing/blaze_enchanter

The panel doubles as a filter slot. Right-click it with an item to set that item as a template, which puts the Enchanter into Template Enchanting Mode. In this mode it only rolls enchantments the template item supports. For example, a diamond chestplate in the slot gives you diamond chestplate enchantments. Then hand the Enchanter a blank Enchanting Template, and those enchantments are added to it.[4]

Pressing (create)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:pressing/enchanting_template

Tip: Your choice of template item matters. Different materials and item types produce different enchantments, and a golden chestplate gives relatively better enchantments than a diamond one because gold has better enchantability. Also, don't just max out the level: some enchantments stop appearing when the Enchanting Level is too high.[4]

Blaze Forger

The Blaze Forger is the anvil counterpart, and it also runs on Liquid Experience. It merges enchantments on two of the same item like an anvil does, but with no Repair Cost. It can also merge Enchanting Templates together.[4]

Its most important job is applying Enchanting Templates to items. This completes the loop: the Enchanter writes enchantments onto a template, and the Forger puts them onto your gear. The Forger can also strip enchantments from equipment, books or other templates and move them onto a blank Enchanting Template.[4]

Super Enchanting

Both Blaze machines have two "stomachs". Feed one a Cake o' Enchanting and it starts seething, which means it has entered Super Enchanting mode.[4]

  • A super-enchanting Blaze Enchanter has a much higher enchant level cap, and it can roll Treasure Enchantments.[4]
  • A super-enchanting Blaze Forger can go past the vanilla enchantment level cap when merging, and it can even merge conflicting enchantments together.[4]
  • In this mode, both machines only process Super Enchanting Templates.[4]

Pressing (create)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:pressing/super_enchanting_template

Watch out: Super Enchanting can cause lightning strikes, so always place a Lightning Rod nearby. You can cover the machine with a block to stop the strikes, but there is a cost: a covered Enchanter may add curses, and a covered Forger may add Repair Cost.[4]

Unverified The sources don't say exactly what happens if you super enchant without a Lightning Rod nearby. They also don't explain how to obtain Super Experience in the first place.

To make the cake fuel, start by compacting a Cake Base o' Enchanting. The pack has changed this recipe from the mod's default, so check the recipe below. Then fill the base with Liquid Experience to get the Cake o' Enchanting. The cake can also be cut into Cake Slice o' Enchantings.[3]

Automation

Both Blaze machines work with a Mechanical Arm. The Arm can insert items to process and feed in experience fuel. It then pulls the results back out: enchanted or invalid items from the Enchanter, and forged items from the Forger.[4]

  • Mending on belt: a Spout filled with Liquid Experience repairs items that have Mending.[1]
  • A Deployer holding a sword with Sweeping Edge gets the benefit of that enchantment.[1]

Printer

The Printer copies written books, enchanted books, name tags, train schedules and more. It can also name items and change a package's address or pattern.[1][4]

How do you progress through Create: Enchantment Industry?

6 parts

This mod builds on Create, so its progression follows its recipes. Almost everything uses Create parts and Create processing like pressing, filling, emptying and compacting. There's no official tier list, so the path below follows the recipe chain: basic machines first, then experience handling, then the blaze-powered upgrades and the Super Experience items.[3]

Starting out: the Mechanical Grindstone

Your first piece of kit is the Mechanical Grindstone. It's a cheap shaped crafting recipe using basic Create components, so you can make it as soon as you have an early Create setup going.[3]

Crafting Shaped

Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:crafting/mechanical_grindstone

The mod adds its own grinding recipe type, and a lot of it turns experience items into Liquid Experience. Liquid Experience is the fluid the rest of the mod runs on, so getting a steady supply is your real first goal.[3]

Unverified The recipe dump doesn't say which machine handles the grinding recipe type. The Mechanical Grindstone is the likely candidate, but check in-game (for example with JEI or EMI) before you build around it. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Getting Liquid Experience

This pack gives you several ways to fill your tanks, including a few that tie into other mods:[3]

Mid game: templates and the Printer

Once experience is flowing, you can press a Block of Experience into an Enchanting Template with a Mechanical Press. The Printer is a shaped recipe built around Create's Spout plus brass and iron, so you'll want your brass production running before you make it.[3]

Blaze tier: Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger

The big machines are the Blaze Enchanter and the Blaze Forger. Both are smithing table upgrades of a Create Blaze Burner. The Enchanter builds on an enchanting table and the Forger builds on an anvil.[3]

Tip: Both blaze upgrades need the Smithing Template from Create: Dragons Plus. The Experience Hatch also needs that mod's Fluid Hatch, so check those recipes before you plan this tier.[3]

Top tier: Super Experience

At the top of the chain is Super Experience. A Nugget of Super Experience and a Block of Super Experience craft back and forth into each other. You can press the block into a Super Enchanting Template, the upgraded version of the regular template. You can also grind the nugget or the block back into Liquid Experience.[3]

Pressing (create)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:pressing/super_enchanting_template

Unverified The recipe dump has no recipe that creates Super Experience from scratch, only the nugget and block conversions. How you first get it in this pack isn't confirmed here.

Handy extras along the way

Watch out: This pack changed the compacting recipe for the Cake Base o' Enchanting, so don't rely on the mod's default recipe. Check the version shown below.[3]

How does Create: Enchantment Industry work with other mods?

3 parts

Create: Enchantment Industry adds experience and enchanting tools to Create, and it needs Create: Dragons Plus installed to run. Its recipes in this pack also pull in items from Ars Nouveau, Mystical Agriculture and Productive Bees. That makes it a hub for turning experience from other mods into something your factory can pump around.[1][3]

Create parts and processing

The mod's main machines are built from standard Create parts, so you'll probably have what you need once your Create base is up. The recipe blocks below show the Mechanical Grindstone, the Printer and the Experience Lantern exactly as this pack crafts them.[3]

Create: Dragons Plus

The two blaze machines are smithing upgrades of Create's Blaze Burner, and they use the Smithing Template from Create: Dragons Plus. Pair the burner with an enchanting table and you get the Blaze Enchanter, described on the project page as a blaze acting as a smart enchanting table. Pair it with an anvil and you get the Blaze Forger, a blaze acting as a smart anvil.[1][3]

Which Create: Enchantment Industry config options matter?

There isn't much config detail to share for this mod yet. The project page describes the mod's features but doesn't list its config options, their defaults, or how to change them.[1]

One thing worth knowing: the page calls the Classic Blaze Enchanter, the old Blaze Enchanter from v1.0, an optional feature. That suggests it's something you can switch on or off rather than something that's always there.[1]

Unverified We couldn't check how this pack sets any of this mod's config options, including whether the Classic Blaze Enchanter is enabled or whether any values differ from the mod's defaults. The pack's config files for this mod weren't available to review.

What changed in Create: Enchantment Industry between versions?

Create: Enchantment Industry arrived in All the Mods 10 with version 2.47. The pack changelog for that release lists it as newly added, at mod version 2.1.1.[5]

In All the Mods 10 2.47 you're running Create: Enchantment Industry 2.1.1, shipped as the file create-enchantment-industry-2.1.1.jar.[6]

Unverified The mod's own changelogs for this jar aren't available, so the changes in version 2.1.1 compared with earlier releases can't be confirmed here.
