Create: Dragons Plus is a mod in All the Mods 10 8.3, where it is version 1.11.9. Provide convenient features to players and dev utilities for Create addon developers. (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Create: Dragons Plus?

2 parts

Create: Dragons Plus is a Create addon built around the Encased Fan and a few handy utility blocks. This pack ships version 1.11.9.[1][2]

What it does

  • Bulk Coloring: use Dye Fluids with an Encased Fan to dye items. It supports most crafting recipes that use dyes.[1]
  • Bulk Freezing: use Powder Snow with an Encased Fan to freeze items.[1]
  • Bulk Ending: use a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath (fluid) with an Encased Fan to infuse items with energy from The End.[1]
  • Bulk Sanding: an Encased Fan polishes items, and it supports all Sand Paper polishing recipes.[1]
  • Fluid Hatch: like the Item Hatch, it gives you a convenient take/deposit operation on Fluid Tanks.[1]

Where the quest book puts it

The pack's quest book covers this mod in the "Create Addons" chapter. That chapter sits in the "Tech" group, is chapter 31 of 67 in the book, and has 50 quests. The chapter is shared with other Create addons such as Create Crafts and Additions, Create Aquatic Ambitions, Create Enchantment Industry and Ars Creo.[3]

The starting quest is "Create: Dragon's Plus" quest, and it asks for a Mechanical Mixer. It has no prerequisite listed in the chapter. It introduces Fluid Dye: mix Water and Dyes, and anything dropped into the result gets dyed, or you can dye things at range with an Encased Fan. Heating the Mixer separates the dye and water again.[3]

Three quests come directly after it: "Fluid Dragon's Breath" quest, "Fluid Hatch" quest and "Buckets full of Dyes" quest. The first covers getting Fluid Dragon's Breath from an Item Drain, and a Dripstone and Cauldron setup for farming Dragon's Breath. The second covers the Fluid Hatch, which you attach to Fluid Tanks to empty or fill Buckets. The third covers extra uses of the dye buckets.[3]

The mod also appears in a second spot: "Blaze Burner Upgrade" quest asks for the Smithing Template. It comes after the Enchanting Templates and Fluid Experience quests, which belong to the Create Enchantment Industry side of the chapter. The quest says Bastions in the Nether have Blaze Burner Templates, and you need them to make Blaze Enchanters and Blaze Forgers.[3]

Tip: 23 of the 50 quests in this chapter are not shown in the sources used for this guide, so check the quest book itself for the rest of the chapter.[3]

How do you get started with Create: Dragons Plus?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide

Create: Dragons Plus is a Create addon built around Encased Fan processing and handy fluid tools. Its features are Bulk Coloring, Bulk Freezing, Bulk Ending, Bulk Sanding and the Fluid Hatch. This pack changes the recipes below, so follow the recipe blocks here rather than the mod's defaults.[1][4]

Step one: craft a Fluid Hatch

Start with the Fluid Hatch. It makes a fluid tank easy to use with fluid containers. The pack changes this recipe.[4][5]

Fluid HatchChanged by the pack

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/fluid_hatch

This is the in-pack recipe for the Fluid Hatch.

The hatch works on the tank it is placed on, and it behaves differently depending on how you click it:[5]

  • Right-click: it deposits fluid from your held item into the tank. If the held item can't be emptied, it fills the item from the tank instead.[5]
  • Sneak right-click: it fills your held fluid container from the tank first. If that isn't possible, it deposits the contained fluid into the tank.[5]

Step two: turn dyes into dye fluid

Bulk Coloring needs liquid dye. Each dye fluid has its own mixing recipe, and the pack changes all of them. You mix 250 of water with a matching dye item to get 250 of the dye fluid. Here is red as an example, and the other colours follow the same pattern.[4]

250× Red DyeChanged by the pack

Mixing (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/red_dye_from_item

The other colours use the same pattern in this pack.

The Dyenamics colours have their own mixing recipes too, such as Dyenamics Amber Dye and Dyenamics Navy Dye.[4]

Step three: set up Bulk Coloring

Once you have dye fluid, run an air flow from an Encased Fan through it to create a Coloring setup. Like Bulk Blasting and Bulk Smoking, it works automatically with certain crafting recipes that use dyes. The air flow can also change the color of entities, and equipped armor gets colored too.[1][5]

Step four: get Dragon's Breath for Bulk Ending

Bulk Ending uses a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath fluid with an Encased Fan to infuse items with energy from The End. In this pack you can get the fluid by emptying the Dragon's Breath item. You get 250 of the fluid and a glass bottle back. The pack changes this recipe.[1][4]

Emptying (create)

This is the in-pack emptying recipe.

Also changed by the pack

The pack also changes the crafting recipe for the Smithing Template, which makes 2 templates per craft.[4]

How does Create: Dragons Plus work?

6 parts

Create: Dragons Plus is an addon for Create. Its main trick is new kinds of Encased Fan processing, which the mod calls bulk processing. It also adds dye fluids, a Dragon's Breath fluid, a Fluid Hatch for tanks, and fragile tanks that break on impact. Here is how those systems work.[1]

Bulk fan processing

The idea is the same each time. You push an air flow from an Encased Fan through a catalyst, and the fan then processes items in that flow. Each type has its own catalyst.[1][6]

  • Bulk Coloring: air passing through Liquid Dye makes a Coloring setup. It works with many crafting recipes that use dyes. It can also change the color of entities, and equipped armor gets colored too.[1][6]
  • x[6]
  • Bulk Freezing: air passing through Powder Snow makes a Freezing setup.[1][6]
  • Bulk Ending: air passing through a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath makes an Ending setup. The fluid catalyst tag for it holds the still and the flowing Dragon's Breath fluid.[1][6][7]
  • Bulk Sanding: air passing through a sanding catalyst, such as Quicksand, makes a Sanding setup. It works automatically with Sand Paper sanding recipes. The catalyst block tag for it lists the quicksands tag as an optional entry.[1][6][8]
  • Bulk Enchanting: air passing through Golden Aercloud makes an Enchanting setup. It processes Aether Altar recipes, and some of those repair equipment, so the input and output can be the same item type. The same air flow can also incubate Moa Eggs. This comes from the mod's Aether integration.[1][6]

Air currents acting on blocks

Bulk processing air currents from Simulated Contraptions (part of the Create: Simulated series) can also change blocks. The mod keeps one block-to-block table per processing type.[1][6]

  • Blasting turns ice into water. It turns snow, snow blocks and powder snow into air, and wet sponge into sponge.[9]
  • Freezing turns water into ice.[10]
  • Smoking turns snow into air.[11]
  • Splashing turns concrete powder into concrete of the same color, and colored wool into white wool. It puts out fire, and swaps sponge and wet sponge in both directions.[12]

The mod's own Ponder scene says the option for Bulk Blasting air currents to spread fire is off by default in the config, so new players don't burn their builds by accident. That is the mod's default, and this pack's setting is not shown in the sources.[6]

Dye fluids

Mixing a dye with water makes Liquid Dye. Heated mixing can recover the dye item from the fluid. Items and living entities that touch Liquid Dye get colored, and when Liquid Dye meets lava it forms matching concrete.[6]

In this pack the mixing recipe takes 250 of water plus one matching dye item and gives 250 of the liquid dye. The recipe dump marks it as changed by the pack. Here is the black one as an example.[13]

250× Black DyeChanged by the pack

Mixing (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/black_dye_from_item

Black Dye is one of many dye fluids made the same way.

The mod has 34 mixing recipes like this. Besides the vanilla colors, it supports dyes from Dye Depot and Dyenamics, plus Bleachdew from Arts & Crafts.[1][13][14]

Dragon's Breath fluid

Dragon's Breath is a real fluid that works with cauldrons. When flowing Dragon's Breath meets lava, it forms End Stone.[6]

In this pack, emptying a Dragon's Breath bottle gives you 250 of the fluid and an empty glass bottle back. The recipe dump marks this recipe as changed by the pack.[13]

Emptying (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath

Fluid Hatch

The Fluid Hatch makes a Fluid Tank easy to use by hand with fluid containers. The mod's tooltip describes two behaviours, depending on how you click.[1][6]

  • When right-clicked: it deposits the fluid in your held item into the tank it is placed on. If the held item can't be emptied, it fills the item from the tank instead.[6]
  • When sneak right-clicked: it fills your held fluid container from the tank first. If it can't be filled, any fluid it contains is deposited into the tank instead.[6]
Fluid HatchChanged by the pack

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/fluid_hatch

The recipe dump marks this crafting recipe as changed by the pack.

Fragile Fluid Tanks

The Fragile Fluid Tank and the Levitite Fragile Fluid Tank break on impact. When one breaks, its fluid effect is applied to the surroundings. These tanks need the Create: Simulated series.[1][6]

  • With water, the effect turns concrete powder into concrete, colored wool into white wool and fire into air. It also swaps sponge and wet sponge.[15]
  • With lava, the mod's table turns ice into water, snow, snow blocks and powder snow into air, and wet sponge into sponge.[16]
  • The mod keeps an explosive fluid tag for the tanks. It lists optional entries for oils, crude oil, diesel, biodiesel, creosote, ethanol, gasoline, fuels and lubricants.[17]

Unverified Which of these bulk processing features are switched on in this pack is set in the mod's config, and the sources here do not show those settings.

How do you progress through Create: Dragons Plus?

4 parts

Create: Dragons Plus doesn't have machine tiers of its own. In this pack's quest book it lives in the Create Addons chapter (Tech group, chapter 31 of 67, 50 quests). The branch starts at "Create: Dragon's Plus" quest, which asks for a Mechanical Mixer, and it ends where the Blaze Burner upgrade feeds into Create: Enchantment Industry. Here's the order the quests take you through.[3]

Step 1: Fluid dyes

The first quest introduces the dye system. You mix water and dyes in a Mechanical Mixer to get a fluid dye, and that fluid dyes any items or entities dropped into it. An Encased Fan blowing on it does the same at range. If you heat the Mixer, it separates the dye and the water again.[3]

250× Black DyeChanged by the pack

Mixing (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/black_dye_from_item

Black Dye is the example here. The pack changed this recipe, and every other dye follows the same pattern, each making 250 of its fluid.

"Buckets full of Dyes" quest comes right after. You can place the dye buckets like water buckets, lava touching fluid dye makes concrete, and Printers can use dyes to color Name Tags.[3]

Step 2: Fluid Dragon's Breath

"Fluid Dragon's Breath" quest is the reason for the mod's name. Tossing Dragon's Breath into an Item Drain gives you Dragon's Breath as a fluid, which you can carry in buckets or place like any other fluid. To farm it, put a Dripstone below the fluid with a Cauldron beneath that, and the Cauldron slowly fills with free Dragon's Breath. Tossing the fluid into a Mixer with Potions makes Lingering Potions in fluid form.[3]

Emptying (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath

The pack changed this emptying recipe. One Dragon's Breath item gives 250 of the fluid and returns the glass bottle.

Step 3: Fluid Hatch

"Fluid Hatch" quest is a simple one. Attach the Fluid Hatch to Fluid Tanks to empty or fill buckets. The pack changed its crafting recipe.[3][13]

Fluid HatchChanged by the pack

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/fluid_hatch

Step 4: Blaze Burner upgrade

The last part is "Blaze Burner Upgrade" quest, which asks for the Smithing Template. It comes after the Enchanting Templates and Fluid Experience quests. The quest says Bastions in the Nether have these templates, and you need them to make Blaze Enchanters and Blaze Forgers.[3]

Once you have the template and Fluid Experience, the Blaze Enchanter ("Blaze Enchanter" quest) and Blaze Forger ("Blaze Forger" quest) quests both unlock. The Super Blaze Enchanter and Super Blaze Forger quests come after those, and they also need Cakes o' Enchanting.[3]

Unverified The exact fan processing and air current interactions for the fluid dyes, and the fragile fluid tank settings, are set in this mod's data map files. The sources here do not show those values, so check them in game before planning around them.

How does Create: Dragons Plus work with other mods?

3 parts

In this pack, Create: Dragons Plus is tied to two other mods through recipes: Dyenamics for dyes and Create: Enchantment Industry for enchanting machines and fluids. Both links are covered below.[3][13]

Dyenamics: fluid dyes

The Create: Dragon's Plus quest explains that you can mix water and dyes in a Mechanical Mixer to make Fluid Dye, and it names Dyenamics dyes as part of that. Fluid Dye dyes any item or entity that drops into it, and an Encased Fan does the same at range. Heating the Mixer separates the dye and water again.[3]

The pack changed the mixing recipes that turn each Dragons Plus Dyenamics dye entry into the matching Dyenamics dye. Every one of them uses 250 of the Dragons Plus entry. Amber is shown below as an example, and the other Dyenamics colours follow the same pattern.[13]

The mod's project page adds that Liquid Dye and Bulk Coloring also support dyes from Dye Depot and from Arts & Crafts.[1]

Create: Enchantment Industry

The Fluid Hatch attaches to Fluid Tanks so you can empty or fill Buckets. The pack changed its crafting recipe.[3][13]

The Blaze Burner Upgrade quest says Bastions in the Nether have Blaze Burner Templates, and that you need them to make Blaze Enchanters and Blaze Forgers. "Blaze Burner Upgrade" quest[3]

Dragon's Breath is the other link. The pack changed the infusing recipe so that 250 of the Dragons Plus Dragon's Breath makes 750 Infused Dragon's Breath.[13]

The Fluid Dragon's Breath quest covers the Dragons Plus side. Toss Dragon's Breath into an Item Drain to get Fluid Dragon's Breath, which can be carried in Buckets or placed like any other fluid. "Fluid Dragon's Breath" quest[3]

Where the quest book puts it

These quests are in the "Create Addons" chapter, in the "Tech" group. "Create: Dragon's Plus" quest asks for a Mechanical Mixer, and the Fluid Dragon's Breath quest and the "Fluid Hatch" quest quest both come after it. The Blaze Burner Upgrade quest comes after the "Enchanting Templates" and "Fluid Experience" quests. 33 of the chapter's 50 quests are not shown in the sources here, so check the quest book for the rest.[3]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Create: Dragons Plus?

2 parts

All of the quests for Create: Dragons Plus sit in the "Create Addons" chapter, in the "Tech" group (chapter 31 of 67 in the book, 50 quests). That chapter is shared with several other Create addons, so the Dragons Plus quests are mixed in with Enchantment Industry, Crafts and Additions and train decoration. Five quests are the ones that matter for this mod: one main quest, three that follow straight from it, and one that feeds into the Enchantment Industry machines.[3]

The Dragons Plus branch

The branch starts with "Create: Dragon's Plus" quest, which has no prerequisite listed. It asks you to hand in a Mechanical Mixer. The quest explains that the most obvious thing the mod adds is dye: you mix Water and Dyes to make Fluid Dye, and that fluid dyes any item or entity that drops into it. An Encased Fan can do the same at range. Heating the Mixer separates the dye and the water again.[3]

Three quests unlock after it. You can do them in any order, since each one only lists the main quest as its prerequisite:[3]

  • "Fluid Dragon's Breath" quest asks for Dragon's Breath. Tossing it into an Item Drain gives you Fluid Dragon's Breath, which you can carry in buckets or place like any other fluid. To farm it, put a Dripstone below the fluid with a Cauldron beneath, and the Cauldron slowly fills with Dragon's Breath. Tossing the fluid into a Mixer with Potions makes Lingering Potions in fluid form.[3]
  • "Fluid Hatch" quest asks for the Fluid Hatch. You attach it to Fluid Tanks to empty or fill buckets.[3]
  • "Buckets full of Dyes" quest is about using the dye buckets. You can place them down like Water Buckets, Lava touching Fluid Dye makes Concrete, and you can use the dye in Printers to color Name Tags. The task for this quest shows no item id in the quest data.[3]

The Printer itself has its own quest, a quest in "Create Addons", which comes after "Fluid Experience" quest. It also mentions dye for changing Name Tags.[3]

Blaze Burner Upgrade

"Blaze Burner Upgrade" quest asks for the Smithing Template. The quest says Bastions in the Nether have Netherite Templates as well as Blaze Burner Templates, and that you need these to make Blaze Enchanters and Blaze Forgers.[3]

This quest sits in the Enchantment Industry part of the chapter. It unlocks after "Enchanting Templates" quest and "Fluid Experience" quest. Fluid Experience in turn comes after "Experience Lantern" quest, "Experience Hatch" quest and "Mechanical Grindstones" quest, which all follow "Block of Experience" quest.[3]

After the upgrade quest, both "Blaze Enchanter" quest and "Blaze Forger" quest list it as a prerequisite, together with Fluid Experience. The Super versions come later: "Super Blaze Enchanter" quest and "Super Blaze Forger" quest.[3]

What changed in Create: Dragons Plus between versions?

3 parts

Create: Dragons Plus joined All the Mods 10 in release 2.47 as version 1.4.2. Pack 8.3 ships version 1.11.9. Here are the notable changes, grouped by the pack release that brought them in.[2][18]

Early releases (2.47 to 4.15)

  • Pack 3.0 (mod 1.5.1): Item Attributes were added for Bulk Freezing, Bulk Sanding and Bulk Ending. A crash on Sand Paper Polishing, caused by certain mods with blocks without items, was also fixed.[19][20]
  • Pack 3.2 (mod 1.5.2): item attributes now register properly, and the glitching icon on the instant damage effect from Dragon's Breath (Fluid) was fixed.[21][22]
  • Pack 4.0 (mod 1.6.1): the Blaze Block now renders its rods correctly.[23][24]
  • Pack 4.11 (mod 1.8.0b): a PT_BR localization was added.[25][26]
  • Pack 4.12 (mod 1.8.1): the fan catalyst tags for Create: Dreams & Desires were fixed, so Catalyst Sails should now work correctly.[27][28]
  • Pack 4.15 (mod 1.8.3): an update for Create 6.0.7.[29][30]

Bulk Sanding and Create 6.0.x (5.1 to 7.0)

  • Pack 5.1 (mod 1.8.4): an update for Create 6.0.8.[31][32]
  • Pack 5.2 (mod 1.8.5): Bulk Sanding no longer hard-requires Quicksand. It activates when Quicksand is installed, when C:DnD is installed, or when the Bulk Sanding block tag contains a block. The recipe format was also updated for the new KubeJS-Create.[33][34]
  • Pack 5.5 (mod 1.8.6): a new item tag, not_applicable_for_coloring, stops specific items from being bulk colored. This release also fixed game crashes when pondering the encased fan with Dreams and Desires but without Quicksand, and with Oreganized at bulk freezing. An infinite fluid dupe with Mekanism's Fluid Tanks through the Fluid Hatch was fixed as well.[35][36]
  • Pack 6.0 (mod 1.8.7): an update for Create 6.0.9, plus a fix for a crash when pondering the encased fan with Bulk Sanding in certain situations.[37][38]
  • Pack 7.0 (mod 1.10.0b): an update for Create 6.0.10, and the crafting recipe of the Fragile Fluid Tank was fixed. If you use Create: Simulated, it needs to be at least 1.1.0.[39][40]

Recent releases (7.1 to 8.3)

  • Pack 7.1 (mod 1.11.2b): Liquid Dye now colors items and entities on contact again.[41][42]
  • Pack 7.3 (mod 1.11.3): compatibility was updated for Sable 2.0.3 and Create: Aeronautics 1.3.0. The Sable and Aeronautics integration needs NeoForge 21.1.228 or newer. New in this version are separate Dye Fluid block and Open Pipe contact controls, optional source consumption, and Mechanical Mixer coloring recipes.[43][44]
  • Also in 1.11.3, Create fluid pipes can drain full Dragon's Breath Cauldrons, those cauldrons can be mined with pickaxes and drop an empty cauldron, and potion data is no longer ignored in Dragon's Breath mixing recipe fluid inputs. Several crashes were fixed too, including Fragile Fluid Tank goggle tooltips and filled Fragile Fluid Tanks freezing the server during a Simulated physics step.[43][44]
  • Pack 8.0 (mod 1.11.7b): Aether fan processing no longer duplicates buckets when it turns one filled bucket into another.[45][46]
  • Pack 8.2 (mod 1.11.9): grouped Ponder tag cards with animated cycling and scroll selection were added, along with a shared API for conditional contributions from multiple source sets. Loot table loading errors for Fragile Fluid Tanks and Levitite Fragile Fluid Tanks when Simulated is not installed were fixed.[47][48]

Pack 8.3 keeps version 1.11.9 of the mod, the same one that arrived in pack 8.2.[2][47]
