What is Extended Crafting?

2 parts

Extended Crafting adds new ways to craft, extra crafting items and utilities. The pack runs version 7.0.9. On its own the mod doesn't do much, because it's meant to be configured heavily, so the recipes and settings you see here were set up by the pack developers to fit this pack's progression.[1][2]

What it adds

  • Table crafting: tiered crafting tables at 3x3 (Basic), 5x5 (Advanced), 7x7 (Elite) and 9x9 (Ultimate). They use their own recipe pool and don't work with regular crafting recipes.[1]
  • Combination crafting: a Crafting Core in the center with Pedestals around it in a 7x7 area, powered by RF.[1]
  • Compression crafting: the Quantum Compressor is a high-tier RF machine that turns large quantities of material into one item. A catalyst in its slot picks the recipe and isn't consumed.[1]
  • Ender crafting: the Ender Crafter does timed crafting and uses every Ender Alternator in a 7x7x7 area around it. More Alternators means faster crafting.[1]
  • Flux crafting: the same idea as Ender crafting, but with a Flux Crafter and Flux Alternators powered by FE.[1]
  • Singularities: highly compressed materials made in the Quantum Compressor, plus the Ultimate Singularity.[1]

Where it fits in the pack

This mod sits right on the ATM Star path. In Chapter 3 the quest "Ender Crafter" quest has you set up the Ender Crafter with an Alternator nearby, and "Elite Crafting Table" quest is marked as Tier 3.[3]

In Chapter 4 the quest "Ultimate Crafting Table" quest explains that regular crafting tables are too small for the ATM Star ingredients, so you need the Ultimate Crafting Table or the Ultimate Auto Crafting Table. The quest a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star" then asks for the Quantum Compressor and an Ultimate Catalyst, and the Singularity quests follow it.[4]

After that comes a long run of Singularity quests, and the final one, a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", asks for the Ultimate Singularity. It needs all of those Singularity quests plus the Ultimate Crafting Table quest done first.[4]

The Ender Crafter also helps outside the ATM Star path. The Productive Trees quest uses it to get saplings that a skyblock pack has no loot chests to provide.[5]

How do you get started with Extended Crafting?

6 parts

Extended Crafting adds tiered crafting tables, extra crafting items and a few machines. On its own the mod doesn't do much, because it expects the pack to set the recipes. This pack has changed many of them, so follow the recipe cards below rather than what you remember from other packs.[1][6]

Step 1: Black Iron

Everything starts with Black Iron Ingot and Black Iron Slate. The slate shows up in the table recipes and in most component recipes, so make a good stack before you move on.[6]

Step 2: A Basic Component and Basic Catalyst

The first table needs a Basic Component and a Basic Catalyst. The recipe cards below show how to make each one. Keep an eye on Luminessence, because it appears across the component recipes.[6]

Step 3: The Basic Crafting Table

The Basic Crafting Table is tier 1 and has a 3x3 grid. The pack has changed its recipe. These tables have their own recipe pool and don't work with regular crafting recipes, so a recipe may only work in a table of the right tier.[1][6]

Tip: If a recipe in JEI says it requires a certain tier of crafting table, that is the minimum table you need for it.[7]

Step 4: Ender Crafter and Alternator

Next, grab the Ender Crafter and Ender Alternator. Both recipes are changed by the pack, and the "Ender Crafter" quest quest covers them. The Crafter looks like a crafting table but works very differently: it does timed crafting using the Alternators placed in a 7x7x7 area around it, with the Crafter as the center block. More Alternators means faster crafting.[1][3][6]

This matters in a skyblock pack. A quest in Productive Trees points you to the Ender Crafter as the way to get saplings you would normally find in structure loot chests.[5]

Step 5: Climb the table tiers

The tiers are Basic (3x3), Advanced (5x5), Elite (7x7) and Ultimate (9x9). In this pack each table's recipe builds on the previous tier's table, including its auto version, so you work upward one tier at a time.[1][6]

The Elite Crafting Table is the big goal early on. The "Elite Crafting Table" quest quest says its 7x7 grid is needed to craft the Crystaltine Ingot, which has its own quest ("Crystaltine Ingot" quest). That quest's ingredient breakdown for the Elite table doesn't match the in-pack recipe below, so go by the recipe card.[3][6]

Step 6: Ultimate table and Quantum Compressor

Regular crafting tables are too small for the ATM Star, so the "Ultimate Crafting Table" quest quest sends you to the Ultimate Crafting Table (or its auto version). Its recipe is changed by the pack.[4][6]

After that comes the Quantum Compressor. Its quest says it can compress 25,000 of a certain material into 1 Singularity, using an Ultimate Catalyst and Forge Energy. The pack has changed the Compressor recipe as well. Singularities lead on to the Ultimate Singularity.[4][6]

How does Extended Crafting work?

8 parts

Extended Crafting adds several different crafting setups. Each one has its own rules, and the mod doesn't do much on its own: it's meant to be configured heavily to fit the pack. Everything below describes how each system works and which values this pack actually uses.[1]

Table crafting

Table crafting is a tiered set of crafting tables: Basic (3x3), Advanced (5x5), Elite (7x7) and Ultimate (9x9). A recipe is either tier independent, so it works in any table with enough space, or tier dependent, so it only works in the tier it names. Tier-dependent recipes show a "Requires Tier %s Crafting Table" tooltip. By default these tables have their own recipe pool and don't use regular crafting recipes.[1][7]

This pack turns on [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.useVanillaRecipes]], so the Basic Crafting Table also inherits vanilla crafting recipes.[8]

The pack changed this recipe from the mod's version.

The pack changed this recipe too. It builds on the Basic Crafting Table and the Basic Auto Crafting Table.

Auto crafting tables

The auto tables, such as the Basic Auto Crafting Table and Advanced Auto Crafting Table, are enabled in this pack. They run on FE. These are the values the pack uses:[6][8]

  • Power storage: 500,000 FE for the base tier, and each higher tier holds double the previous one ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTablePowerCapacity]]).[8]
  • Crafting cost: 500 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTablePowerRate]]). Auto-inserting items costs 100 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTableInsertPowerRate]]).[8]
  • Speed: a base-tier craft takes 20 ticks, and higher tiers multiply that time by their tier ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTableTimeRequired]]).[8]
  • Recipe handling: Shift + Left Click saves the recipe in the table, and Shift + Left Click on a saved recipe deletes it. There is also a Toggle Auto Crafting control.[7]

The pack changed this recipe too.

Combination crafting

This is a multiblock. The Crafting Core sits in the center, and Pedestals can go anywhere around it within a 7x7 area. Put the input item on top of the core and the other ingredients on the pedestals. Right-click any side of the core except the top to open a GUI showing the current setup and recipe.[1]

You have to feed the core power, and a craft's speed depends on the recipe's power cost divided by its power rate. In this pack the core holds 5,000,000 FE and uses 500 FE/t by default. Both match the mod's defaults. See [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.powerCapacity]] and [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.powerRate]].[1][8]

The pack changed this recipe.

Compression crafting

The Quantum Compressor (Quantum Compressor) is a high-tier machine that crafts with huge quantities of material. Whatever you put in goes into a massive internal buffer. The catalyst slot works with the material to identify the recipe, and the catalyst is not consumed. Once the buffer holds enough material, the machine starts using power and crafts the output. Speed again depends on the recipe's power cost divided by its power rate.[1]

This pack leaves the Quantum Compressor at its defaults: it holds 10,000,000 FE and uses 5,000 FE/t by default ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Quantum Compression.powerCapacity]], [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Quantum Compression.powerRate]]).[8]

The pack changed this recipe.

Ender crafting

Ender crafting is basically timed crafting. The Ender Crafter uses the power of every Ender Alternator within a 7x7x7 area around it, with the crafter as the center block. The more alternators in range, the faster it crafts.[1]

In this pack a craft takes 60 seconds by default ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.defaultTimeRequired]]). The alternator effect is set to 0.01, which the config describes as a percentage of the time required ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.alternatorEffectiveness]]).[8]

The Auto Ender Crafter is enabled. It holds 500,000 FE and uses 100 FE when auto-inserting items ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.autoCrafterPowerCapacity]], [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.autoCrafterInsertPowerRate]]).[8]

The pack changed this recipe.

Flux crafting

Flux crafting works like Ender crafting but runs on FE. A Flux Crafter draws on every Flux Alternator within a 7x7x7 area, and more alternators mean faster crafts.[1]

Watch out: Flux crafting is switched off in this pack. Both [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Flux Crafting.enabled]] and [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Flux Crafting.autoCrafterEnabled]] are false, so you won't be using it here.[8]

Singularities

Singularities are highly compressed materials, made in the Quantum Compressor. The mod ships default singularities and lets you add your own through config files. This pack changed the default cost: it needs 25,000 items (mod default 10,000) and 2,500,000 FE (mod default 5,000,000). See Singularities.defaultMaterialsRequired and Singularities.defaultPowerRequired.[1][8]

The default recipes use the Ultimate Catalyst as the catalyst (Singularities.defaultCatalyst). Each singularity has its own JSON file with a name, two colors and an ingredient. The ingredient is either a single item, as with copper (a copper ingot) and diamond, or a tag, as with coal and bronze.[8][9][10][11][12][13]

The Ultimate Singularity is crafted by placing one of each singularity in an Ultimate Crafting Table. Its default recipe is generated in this pack (Singularities.ultimateSingularityRecipe), and singularities can be blacklisted from it in the config.[1][8]

Handy extras

The Handheld Crafting Table is enabled in this pack (General.handheldWorkbench), so you can craft on the go. The Recipe Maker is also enabled. It adds data components when possible and doesn't try to use tags ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Recipe Maker.useDataComponents]], [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Recipe Maker.useTags]]).[1][8]

How do you progress through Extended Crafting?

4 parts

Extended Crafting progression in this pack is a ladder of bigger crafting tables. The quests pick it up in Chapter 3 with the Ender Crafter and the Elite Crafting Table, then carry on in Chapter 4 with the Ultimate Crafting Table and the singularity chain. Every recipe below is the in-pack version, and the pack changed most of the table recipes from the mod's defaults.[3][4][6]

The table tiers

The ladder runs from the Basic Crafting Table to the Advanced Crafting Table and then the Elite Crafting Table. The "Elite Crafting Table" quest quest calls the Elite table the third tier of Extended Crafting, and it has a 7x7 grid. The pack changed the recipes for all three of these tables.[3][6]

Watch out: The Elite Crafting Table quest text walks through a table-by-table count that does not match the in-pack recipes. The recipes want the Auto Crafting Table of the tier below as well as the normal table, for example the Advanced Auto Crafting Table for the Elite table. Follow the recipe blocks on this page, not the quest's maths.[3][6]

Ender Crafter

The "Ender Crafter" quest quest describes the Ender Crafter as looking like a crafting table but working very differently. You need an Ender Alternator within a 7x7x7 area, with the Ender Crafter in the center. The quest also points out that Ender Ingots are just Ender Pearls and Iron.[3][6]

This is also how the pack gets you saplings that normally come from structure loot chests, which don't exist in a skyblock. The a quest in "Productive Trees" quest in the Productive Trees chapter sends you back to the Ender Crafter quest for the details.[5]

Crystaltine and the Ultimate table

Once you have the Elite table, the "Crystaltine Ingot" quest quest has you use its 7x7 grid to craft the Crystaltine Ingot. The quest says it needs a specific pattern, so check the recipe viewer for the layout.[3]

Next comes the "Ultimate Crafting Table" quest quest in Chapter 4. It says regular crafting tables are too small for the ATM Star's ingredients, so you have to go bigger. The quest accepts either the Ultimate Crafting Table or the Ultimate Auto Crafting Table. The Ultimate table recipe is pack-changed, and it needs an Ultimate Catalyst.[4][6]

Singularities

The a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star" quest asks for the Quantum Compressor and an Ultimate Catalyst. With an Ultimate Catalyst and some Forge Energy, the Quantum Compressor can compress 25,000 of a certain material into 1 Singularity. The pack changed the Compressor's recipe.[4][6]

The pack changed this recipe.

That quest unlocks a long run of singularity quests, each asking you to hand in a Singularity. The final quest, a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", asks for the Ultimate Singularity. It unlocks only after you have finished every one of those singularity quests and the Ultimate Crafting Table quest.[4]

How does Extended Crafting work with other mods?

5 parts

Extended Crafting doesn't do much alone. Its own project page says it's meant to be configured heavily to fit the pack it's in. In this pack, that shows up in a few recipes and quests that tie it to AllTheModium, GeOre, AllTheTweaks and Patchouli items.[1][6]

The ATM Star

The biggest link is the ATM Star. The pack adds a table-crafting recipe for it that combines Allthemodium-family blocks with ATM-specific items such as the Dragon Soul and the Nexium Emitter. The final ingredient comes from Extended Crafting itself: the Ultimate Singularity.[6]

This table recipe is added by the pack.

The quest chapter for this goal tells you that regular Crafting Tables are too small for the ATM Star ingredients, so you'll need an Ultimate Crafting Table or an Ultimate Auto Crafting Table. See "Ultimate Crafting Table" quest.[4]

Singularities on the road to the Ultimate Singularity

The same chapter walks you through compression. With an Ultimate Catalyst and some Forge Energy, the Quantum Compressor can compress 25,000 of a certain material into 1 Singularity. See a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star".[4]

After that quest, the chapter has a whole set of quests that each ask you to hold a Singularity. The a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star" quest unlocks once all of them are done and you've reached the Ultimate Crafting Table. It asks you to hold the Ultimate Singularity, which is the item the ATM Star recipe needs.[4][6]

Vibranium through the Ender Crafter

The pack also adds an Ender Crafter recipe for the Vibranium Ingot. It pairs the Crystaltine Ingot with a range of GeOre shards, such as the Diamond GeOre Shard and the Uranium GeOre Shard.[6]

This recipe is added by the pack and is crafted in the Ender Crafter.

The AllTheModium chapter introduces the Ender Crafter in "Ender Crafter" quest. You need an Ender Alternator within a 7x7x7 area, with the Ender Crafter in the center.[3]

The Crystaltine Ingot comes from the Elite Crafting Table. Its quest says the table's 7x7 grid is needed for crafting the ingot. See "Elite Crafting Table" quest and "Crystaltine Ingot" quest.[3]

Saplings in Productive Trees

The Productive Trees quests use the Ender Crafter for another job. Certain saplings are normally found in structure loot chests, which a skyblock pack doesn't have. The quest points you to the Ender Crafter as the way to get them instead. See a quest in "Productive Trees".[5]

The Patchouli guide book

The pack changes the recipe for the Patchouli Guide Book. It's a shapeless crafting recipe that uses a Black Iron Ingot and a Book. The Extended Crafting project page says Patchouli is what adds its in-game guide book.[1][6]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Extended Crafting?

3 parts

Extended Crafting shows up in three quest chapters in this pack: Chapter 3: AllTheModium, Productive Trees, and Chapter 4: The ATM Star. Chapter 3 covers the mod's Elite table and the Ender Crafter, and Chapter 4 uses the mod on the way to the ATM Star.[3][4][5]

Chapter 3: AllTheModium

This chapter has two Extended Crafting lines. The first is "Elite Crafting Table" quest, which asks for the Elite Crafting Table. The quest calls it the third tier of the mod and says its 7x7 grid is what you need for crafting the Crystaltine Ingot.[3]

Once you have the table, "Crystaltine Ingot" quest unlocks. It asks for a Crystaltine Ingot, which you craft on the Elite table in a specific pattern.[3]

The second line is "Ender Crafter" quest. It asks for both the Ender Crafter and the Ender Alternator. The quest says the Ender Crafter looks like a crafting table but works very differently. You need an Alternator within a 7x7x7 area, with the Ender Crafter in the center.[3]

Productive Trees

a quest in "Productive Trees" asks for the same two items, the Ender Crafter and the Ender Alternator. Here the quest uses them to get saplings that are normally found in structure loot chests. It says a skyblock pack doesn't have those structures, and it points you back to the Ender Crafter quest in Chapter 3 for how to use the machine.[5]

Chapter 4: The ATM Star

This chapter has the most Extended Crafting content. "Ultimate Crafting Table" quest accepts either the Ultimate Crafting Table or the Ultimate Auto Crafting Table. The quest explains that regular crafting tables are too small for the ATM Star ingredients.[4]

Then there is a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", which asks for the Quantum Compressor and the Ultimate Catalyst. According to the quest text, with an Ultimate Catalyst and some Forge Energy the compressor turns 25000 of a material into 1 Singularity.[4]

That quest unlocks a whole group of singularity quests. Each one just asks you to hand in a Singularity: a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star" and a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star".[4]

The finale is a quest in "Chapter 4: The ATM Star", titled "With all your powers combined". It asks for the Ultimate Singularity. It unlocks only after you finish every singularity quest listed above and the Ultimate Crafting Table quest.[4]

Which Extended Crafting config options matter?

5 parts

Extended Crafting is meant to be configured heavily by the pack maker, so the common config is where you see how this pack shapes it. Two numeric values are flagged as changed from the mod default, and both are Singularity costs.[1][8]

What the pack changed

In short, default Singularities need more items but less power than in the base mod. Plan your item supply and storage first, because the item bill is the part that grew.[8]

Singularities

Singularities are enabled, and default recipes are generated through Singularities.defaultRecipes. The default catalyst from Singularities.defaultCatalyst is Ultimate Catalyst. The default Ultimate Singularity recipe is also on, via Singularities.ultimateSingularityRecipe.[8]

Each Singularity has its own file in the singularities config folder with a name, two colors and an ingredient. Some name a specific item, like iron, which uses Iron Ingot. Others use a tag, like tin, which accepts anything in the c:ingots/tin tag.[14][15]

Machines that are switched off

The Flux Crafter is disabled in this pack: [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Flux Crafting.enabled]] is false. The Auto Flux Crafter is off too, since [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Flux Crafting.autoCrafterEnabled]] is false. Don't plan a build around Flux crafting here.[8]

Machines that are on, and their power values

Combination crafting, Ender crafting, the Quantum Compressor, the crafting tables and the auto tables are all enabled. The power and time values below match the mod defaults.[8]

  • Crafting Core: holds 5,000,000 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.powerCapacity]]) and uses 500 FE/t by default ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Combination Crafting.powerRate]]).[8]
  • Quantum Compressor: holds 10,000,000 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Quantum Compression.powerCapacity]]) and uses 5,000 FE/t ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Quantum Compression.powerRate]]).[8]
  • Ender Crafter: a craft takes 60 seconds by default ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.defaultTimeRequired]]), and each Ender Alternator speeds it up by 0.01 as a fraction of the time required ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.alternatorEffectiveness]]).[8]
  • Auto Ender Crafter: holds 500,000 FE ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.autoCrafterPowerCapacity]]) and uses 100 FE when auto inserting items ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Ender Crafting.autoCrafterInsertPowerRate]]).[8]
  • Auto Crafting Tables: they hold 500,000 FE, and higher tiers use double the previous tier ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTablePowerCapacity]]). They use 500 FE when crafting ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTablePowerRate]]) and 100 FE when auto inserting ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTableInsertPowerRate]]).[8]
  • Auto table speed: the base tier takes 20 ticks per craft, and higher tiers multiply that by the tier ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.autoTableTimeRequired]]).[8]

Other switches

  • General.handheldWorkbench is true, so the Handheld Crafting Table is enabled.[8]
  • [[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Table Crafting.useVanillaRecipes]] is true, so the Basic Crafting Table inherits vanilla crafting recipes.[8]
  • The Recipe Maker is enabled ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Recipe Maker.enabled]]). It adds data components when possible ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Recipe Maker.useDataComponents]] is true) but does not try to use tags ([[config:config/extendedcrafting-common.toml#Recipe Maker.useTags]] is false).[8]

What changed in Extended Crafting between versions?

1 part

All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 ships Extended Crafting 7.0.9 for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier. Here are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first, for the releases leading up to the version you're playing.[2]

Recent mod releases

  • 7.0.9 (the version in this pack): fixed the Crafting Core, Ender Crafter and Flux Crafter potentially loading neighboring chunks.[2][16]
  • 7.0.8: fixed the Enhanced Redstone Ingot Block and Flux Star Block not being mineable.[17]
  • 7.0.7: added support for CraftTweaker Transforms and crafting remainder items to Combination Crafting recipes. It also fixed the Combination Crafting ingredient list not including the center ingredient, and updated the pt_br translations.[18]
  • 7.0.7 also fixed a crash when using the Recipe Maker (Datapack) to copy items with data components, such as enchantments. The same release fixed the Recipe Maker using the wrong output format for the center item.[18]
  • 7.0.6: improved performance of the Extended Crafting Table screens. It also fixed the Ender Crafter and Flux Crafter not always saving their inventory on grid change, and Auto Crafting Tables not handling stackable remainder items properly.[19]

If you use Combination Crafting recipes with CraftTweaker, or you have Auto Crafting Tables handling items that leave remainders, the 7.0.6 and 7.0.7 changes are the ones most likely to matter to you.[18][19]

Unverified No pack changelog entries for Extended Crafting were available, so any changes the pack itself made to this mod across its releases are not covered here.
