What is GeOre?
1 part
GeOre is a resource-automation mod, and the pack ships version 6.2.2 of it, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. If you want your metals to keep coming without hand-mining every vein, this is the mod for you.[1]
The pack's quest book calls GeOres the main automation for resources. They work like Budding Amethyst or Certus: crystals grow out of any side of a Budding GeOre if there is room. The big difference is that you can pick a GeOre up with a pickaxe, even without Silk Touch. You mine the crystals off the budding block and smelt them to get your ingot. Any block that speeds up Amethyst also speeds up GeOres.[2]
Where it fits in the progression
You meet GeOre early, in the quest "GeOre" quest in Chapter 2: The Cool Parts. Its task is to get Budding Iron GeOre.[2]
GeOre comes back on the ATM Star path in Chapter 3: AllTheModium. The Vibranium Ingot needs an uncomfortable number of GeOres. Most are simple: you cover Compressed Sand with the matching ore through the Foundry. Uraninite is the exception, and the quest "Uraninite GeOre" quest asks you to get Budding Uraninite GeOre. For that one you use your Ender Crafter to combine 4 Uraninite with a Budding Uranium GeOre. The quest comes after the Ender Crafter.[3]
How do you get started with GeOre?
3 parts
GeOre is the pack's main resource automation, so it's worth getting to know early. A GeOre behaves like Budding Amethyst or Certus: crystals grow out of any side of it if there is room. The big difference is that you can pick a GeOre up with a pickaxe, even without Silk Touch.[2]
Step by step
- Open the "GeOre" quest quest in Chapter 2: The Cool Parts. Its task is to get Budding Iron GeOre, so that is your first GeOre.[2]
- Craft the Budding Iron GeOre with the recipe below. The pack added this recipe, and it is a block casting recipe rather than normal crafting.[4]
Block Casting (productivemetalworks)
Sand 1x
- 810× any molten iron
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:kjs/4o25qbixo03idf2p91rc6t0a6
Added by the pack.
- Place the budding block somewhere with free space around it. Crystals grow out of any open side.[2]
- Mine the crystals off the budding GeOre and smelt them to get your ingot.[2]
- Speed it up. Any block that boosts the growth speed of Amethyst also speeds up GeOres.[2]
Optional extras
The mod also has a GeOre spyglass for each type. This pack changed that recipe, so use the one below rather than any default you may have seen elsewhere.[4]

Looking ahead
Later you will need a lot of GeOres for the Vibranium Ingot. Most are simple: you cover Compressed Sand with that ore through the Foundry. Budding Uraninite GeOre is different: you make it in the Ender Crafter from a Budding Uranium GeOre and Uraninite, which you can get by sieving Sand with a Diamond or Netherite Mesh. The quest "Uraninite GeOre" quest in Chapter 3: AllTheModium covers this.[3][4]

How does GeOre work?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
GeOre is a small mod, and the sources for this pack don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid handling or automation for it. What they do cover is which geodes can generate, a piston toggle for budding GeOre, the spyglass overlay strength, and the crafting of the items made from shards.[5][6]
Geode generation
Each ore type has its own on/off generation option, and there is a separate group of settings for modded generation. By the mod's defaults these are on: coal, copper, diamond, emerald, gold, iron, lapis, redstone and quartz. Quartz also has its own option for generating in the Nether, which is on by default, and so is budding ancient debris.[5]
By the mod's defaults these are off: allthemodium, aluminum, black quartz, lead, monazite, nickel, osmium, platinum, ruby, sapphire, silver, tin, topaz, tungsten, unobtainium, uraninite, uranium, vibranium and zinc. Allthemodium GeOre Shard, Aluminum GeOre Shard and Black Quartz GeOre Shard all exist as items, but their geodes are not generated by default.[5][6]
Unverified These values are the mod's own defaults, taken from its option tooltips. The pack's actual GeOre settings live in the mod's config file, which the sources here do not show, so whether the pack changes any of them is unverified.
Budding GeOre and pistons
In vanilla, a piston push breaks a budding block. GeOre has an option that overrides this so budding GeOre is not broken when pushed. By the mod's default it is off, so the vanilla behaviour applies.[5]
Spyglass overlay
Each ore type has its own GeOre spyglass, such as the Diamond GeOre Spyglass. A single option controls the intensity of the spyglass color overlay. The mod's default is 0.5, which means 50%.[5][6]
Crafting the GeOre items
Shards are the base material. Each ore type's shard crafts into a block of that GeOre, into tinted glass and into a spyglass. The block and tinted glass recipes are the mod's own. The spyglass recipes are marked as changed by the pack, so don't rely on the mod's default spyglass recipe. Here is the copper set as an example:[6]
This block recipe is the mod's own recipe.

The other ore types, such as Iron Tinted Glass and Block Of Gold GeOre, follow the same pattern in the part of the recipe dump that is visible.[6]
How do you progress through GeOre?
3 parts
The sources for this pack only show two GeOre steps in the quest book, so that's what this section covers. The first is a starter quest in Chapter 2 that has you get Budding Iron. The second is a later quest in Chapter 3 that has you upgrade to Budding Uraninite on the way to Vibranium.[2][3]
Step 1: Budding Iron GeOre
The quest "GeOre" quest in Chapter 2: The Cool Parts asks you to get Budding Iron GeOre. The quest calls GeOres the pack's main automation for resources. They work like Budding Amethyst or Certus, so crystals grow out of any side that has room. The difference is that you can pick GeOres up with a pickaxe, even without Silk Touch.[2]
You mine the crystals off the budding block and smelt them to get your ingot. Any block that speeds up Amethyst growth also speeds up GeOres.[2]
In this pack, Budding Iron GeOre is made by block casting, and that recipe was added by the pack. The Chapter 3 quest describes the general method for most GeOres as covering Compressed Sand with that ore through the Foundry.[3][4]

- 810× any molten iron

Step 2: Budding Uraninite GeOre
In Chapter 3: AllTheModium, the quest "Uraninite GeOre" quest comes after the Ender Crafter quest and asks for Budding Uraninite GeOre. The quest warns that the Vibranium Ingot needs an uncomfortable amount of GeOres. Most are simple, but Uraninite is the exception.[3]
For Uraninite you use the Ender Crafter, together with a Budding Uranium GeOre. The quest also says you can Sieve Sand with a Diamond or Netherite Mesh to get Uraninite. The Ender Crafter recipe below was added by the pack.[3][4]

Shards, blocks and extras
Each ore type has a shard, a block, a spyglass and tinted glass. The pack adds shapeless recipes that turn GeOre blocks back into shards, for example Block Of Allthemodium GeOre into Allthemodium GeOre Shard. The same is shown for aluminum, ancient debris, black quartz and coal. The recipe list I was given is cut off, so I can't show the rest.[4]
The pack has also changed the spyglass recipes from the mod's defaults. Here is the copper one as an example.[4]

How does GeOre work with other mods?
4 parts
GeOre is the pack's main automation for resources, and it plugs into a lot of other mods. Crystals grow off Budding GeOre blocks, and the pack then routes those crystals through smelting, crushing, melting, casting and the Ender Crafter. Here's where each connection happens.[2][4]
Smelting into AllTheOres items
The pack changed the smelting and blasting recipes for GeOre shards so they give AllTheOres items. You can use a furnace or a blast furnace on the shards of aluminum, lead, nickel, osmium, platinum, silver, tin, uranium and zinc to get the matching ingot. For example, Tin GeOre Shard gives Tin Ingot, and Uranium GeOre Shard gives Uranium Ingot. The gem shards work the same way, so Ruby GeOre Shard gives Ruby and Sapphire GeOre Shard gives Sapphire. The "GeOre" quest quest also tells you to smelt mined crystals to get your ingots.[2][4]
Furnace (geore)

Crushing coal shards
Coal GeOre Shard can be crushed into coal dust in several machines. The pack added these recipes for the Immersive Engineering crusher, the Industrial Foregoing crusher, Mekanism's crushing, the Modern Industrialization macerator and Occultism's crushing. Most of them output Coal Dust. The Modern Industrialization macerator outputs Coal Dust instead.[4]
Crushing (mekanism)
Recipe id: allthemods:mekanism/crushing/coal_dust_from_shard
Melting and casting with the foundry
The pack changed the melting recipes so both GeOre shards and GeOre blocks turn into molten fluids. Iron, copper, gold, lead, tin and the other metals become their matching Productive Metalworks fluid, such as Molten Iron. Coal GeOre melts into Molten Carbon. Ruby, sapphire and topaz melt into fluids from the sgearmetalworks namespace, for example Molten Ruby.[4]
It also works the other way round. The pack added block-casting recipes that make Budding GeOre from a molten fluid, including Budding Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium GeOre with Molten Allthemodium, Molten Vibranium and Molten Unobtainium. Many of these recipes accept any fluid in the matching molten tag, so you aren't tied to one mod's version of the metal. Here are some examples.[4]
Block Casting (productivemetalworks)
Sand 1x
- 810× any molten copper
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:kjs/1iqi2qfvqgv8xs31wwvyyj09j
Most buddings are cast like this, for example Budding Copper GeOre, from any molten fluid in the matching tag.
Block Casting (productivemetalworks)
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:kjs/1fdqgps6hhm4h9gnenoy5e72f
The top tier buddings use Sand 5x instead of the usual 1x sand.
Block Casting (productivemetalworks)
Red Sand 1x
- 900× any molten quartz
Recipe id: productivemetalworks:kjs/1yzcu77118f8yco80a30bxr6e
Budding Black Quartz GeOre uses Red Sand 1x instead of plain sand.
Ender Crafter recipes
The pack added several Extended Crafting Ender Crafter recipes that use GeOre items. The first one is how you get Flawless Budding Certus Quartz.[4]
Shaped Ender Crafter (extendedcrafting)
| Empty slot | Empty slot | |
| Empty slot | Empty slot |
Recipe id: extendedcrafting:certus_quartz
It starts from Budding Quartz GeOre and needs Certus Quartz Dust.
The Vibranium Ingot is the big one. The quest warns that it needs an uncomfortable amount of GeOres, and the recipe uses several different GeOre shards with a Crystaltine Ingot.[3][4]
Shaped Ender Crafter (extendedcrafting)
Recipe id: extendedcrafting:vibranium
Uraninite is the odd one out. Instead of being cast like the others, Budding Uraninite GeOre is made in the Ender Crafter. The quest says you can sieve sand with a Diamond or Netherite Mesh to get Uraninite.[3][4]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use GeOre?
3 parts
GeOre shows up in two quest chapters in the pack. The first introduces the idea, and the second uses it for one of the more demanding late-game ingots.[2][3]
Chapter 2: The Cool Parts
The "GeOre" quest quest is your introduction. Its task is to obtain Budding Iron GeOre. It unlocks after another quest in the same chapter.[2]
The quest text calls GeOres the pack's main automation for resources. They work like Budding Amethyst or Certus: crystals grow out of any side of the block if there is room.[2]
The big difference is that you can pick GeOres up with a pickaxe, even without Silk Touch. You mine the crystals off the budding block and smelt them into an ingot. The quest also says any block that speeds up Amethyst growth will speed up GeOres too.[2]
Chapter 3: AllTheModium
The "Uraninite GeOre" quest quest comes later, after the Ender Crafter quest. Its task is to obtain Budding Uraninite GeOre.[3]
The quest text explains that the Vibranium Ingot needs an uncomfortable amount of GeOres. Most of them are simple and are made through the Foundry. Uraninite is the exception, and you make it in the Ender Crafter.[3]
Quest order
- Chapter 2: The Cool Parts has GeOre, which asks for Budding Iron GeOre.[2]
- Chapter 3: AllTheModium has Uraninite GeOre, which asks for Budding Uraninite GeOre. It unlocks after the Ender Crafter quest.[3]
Unverified The sources don't give a recipe id for Budding Uraninite GeOre, so the exact in-pack recipe can't be shown here. Check the quest in-game for the details.
