What is AllTheOres?
3 parts
AllTheOres supplies the metals that the rest of the pack's tech mods ask you to hand in. In the quest book you'll keep meeting its items: alloy ingots, steel, osmium and uranium. The pack ships version 3.2.0 of the mod for NeoForge 1.21.1.[1][2][3][4]
Alloys you'll meet in the quests
- Electrum Ingot is an alloy of gold and silver. It's used all over electricity-related Immersive Engineering parts like wires, connectors and transformers ("Electrum Ingot" quest).[2]
- Bronze Ingot is copper and tin. It matters a lot in Modern Industrialization but not much in Immersive Engineering ("Bronze Ingot" quest).[2]
- Constantan Ingot is copper and nickel. It gets real use in Immersive Engineering machines and heat-and-metal items like generators ("Constantan Ingot" quest).[2]
- Brass Ingot is copper and zinc, and Invar Ingot is iron and nickel. The quests call both of them barely useful in Immersive Engineering ("Brass Ingot" quest, "Invar Ingot" quest).[2]
Steel, osmium and uranium
Steel Ingot is the big one. In Immersive Engineering, almost everything needs it, and the quest warns that the Crude Blast Furnace and Alloy Kiln can't be automated ("Steel Ingot" quest). Big multiblocks like the "Excavator" quest ask for Steel Block. In Mekanism you make steel by infusing iron with carbon, 10mB at a time, then smelting the dust ("Steel" quest).[2][3]
Osmium Ingot is the base crafting ingot for Mekanism. The quest says the ore spawns below Y level 56 and that you'll need a lot of it for machines ("Osmium" quest). Uranium Block also shows up as a heat source in the Immersive Engineering chapter ("Warm Items" quest).[2][3]
The ATM Star path
Two quests on the ATM Star path hand in AllTheOres items. "Mekanism" quest asks for a steel ingot, and "Extreme Reactors" quest asks for a uranium ingot (Uranium Ingot). The Mekanism quest also says that what you need for the Star is on the Reactors page, but you have to get through the main Mekanism page first.[4]
Unverified The full list of ores, their world generation settings and any config options for AllTheOres in this pack could not be confirmed from the available sources, so they are not covered here.
How do you get started with AllTheOres?
6 parts
Welcome in! Here is the order I'd tackle AllTheOres items in this pack, and why. The depth numbers come from the ore tooltips, and the rest comes from the pack's recipes and quests.[5][6]
Get mining, and mind your depth
Osmium, silver, nickel and lead all generate between Y -64 and Y 56. Tin reaches up to Y 196 and aluminum all the way up to Y 320. The rarer stuff sits deeper: sulfur is found between Y -64 and Y 25 and uranium between Y -64 and Y 16. A deep mining trip early on covers a lot of what you need.[5]
Grab Osmium Ingot early too. The Mekanism quest subtitles it "The Base Crafting Ingot" and says you'll need a lot of it for machines.[3]
Make dusts from your raw ore
The pack adds Actually Additions crushing recipes that turn raw copper, raw gold and raw iron into Copper Dust, Gold Dust and Iron Dust. Sulfur ore can also be crushed into Sulfur.[6]
Steel comes first
Steel Ingot is the metal to aim for first. The Immersive Engineering quest says almost everything there needs steel, and the Mekanism quest says it goes into machines, tools, upgrades and reactors. The ATM Star chapter's Mekanism quest asks for it as well.[2][3][4]
The pack changed the alloy recipes. This is the Immersive Engineering Alloy Kiln recipe for steel:[6]
Alloy (immersiveengineering)
- any iron ingot
- any coal
Recipe id: alltheores:alloysmelter/steel/ingot
If you go the Mekanism route instead, the quest has you add carbon to iron in a Metallurgic Infuser. Each step uses 10mB of carbon, and the end result is Steel Dust that you smelt into a Steel Ingot.[3]
Other alloys as you need them
Electrum Ingot is the one to prioritize. The quest says it is used in wires, connectors and transformers, so it matters for anything electrical. Here is the pack's Alloy Kiln recipe for it:[2][6]
Alloy (immersiveengineering)
- any gold ingot
- any silver ingot
Recipe id: alltheores:alloysmelter/electrum/ingot
Bronze Ingot has a pack recipe too, but the quest says it isn't used much in Immersive Engineering. Make it when something else asks for it.[2][6]
Alloy (immersiveengineering)
- any copper ingot
- any tin ingot
Recipe id: alltheores:alloysmelter/bronze/ingot
The same quest chapter also covers Brass Ingot, Constantan Ingot and Invar Ingot. Constantan is used more in Immersive Engineering, in machines and items that use heat and metal, like generators. Brass and invar are described as having little use there, so don't rush them.[2]
Rods for later
Aluminum Rod has a normal crafting recipe in the mod:[6]
Crafting Shaped
| Empty slot | Empty slot | Empty slot |
| Empty slot | Empty slot | any aluminum ingot |
| any ore hammer | any aluminum ingot | Empty slot |
Recipe id: alltheores:crafting/aluminum/rod
The pack also adds Mekanism lathe and stamper recipes for Iron Rod, Steel Rod and aluminum rods. Rods show up as railgun ammo in the Immersive Engineering quests.[2][6]
Where to go next
- Follow "Steel Ingot" quest and "Steel" quest for steel.[2][3]
- Do "Osmium" quest for your osmium supply.[3]
- "Electrum Ingot" quest comes after the Alloy Kiln quest in the Immersive Engineering chapter.[2]
- Keep some Sulfur and Uranium Ingot for the Mekanism and reactor chapters.[7][8]
How does AllTheOres work?
3 parts
Here's the honest picture for this section: the sources I have for AllTheOres don't describe any machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item automation. There's no in-jar guidebook, no config files for the mod in the pack, and no reusable documentation. So instead of guessing, I'll cover only what is confirmed: where the ores generate, the slurry chemicals the mod defines, and how the pack handles its compressed blocks.[5][6]
Ore depth ranges
Ore blocks carry a tooltip that tells you the Y levels they are found at. The stone, deepslate, Nether, End and "other" variants of an ore all show the same range in the tooltips.[5]
- Aluminum ore: between Y -64 and Y 320, the widest range of the list.[5]
- Sapphire ore: between Y -64 and Y 296.[5]
- Cinnabar, fluorite, ruby and salt ores: between Y -64 and Y 228.[5]
- Peridot and tin ores: between Y -64 and Y 196.[5]
- Zinc ore: between Y -64 and Y 126.[5]
- Lead, nickel, osmium and silver ores: between Y -64 and Y 56.[5]
- Platinum ore: between Y -64 and Y 36.[5]
- Iridium ore: between Y -64 and Y 32.[5]
- Sulfur ore: between Y -64 and Y 25.[5]
- Uranium ore: between Y -64 and Y 16, the narrowest range, so you'll be digging deep for it.[5]
Slurries
The mod registers dirty and clean slurry chemicals for aluminum, iridium, platinum and uranium. They are named Dirty Aluminum Slurry, Clean Aluminum Slurry, and so on for each of those metals.[5]
Unverified Which machines make, wash or consume these slurries, and how they are piped or automated in this pack, is not covered by the available sources.
Compressed blocks
The pack ties AllTheOres blocks into its compressed-block system. For the metal, alloy and gem blocks (and the raw ore blocks), there is a shapeless crafting recipe that turns the "1x" compressed version back into the normal AllTheOres block. The recipe dump marks these recipes as changed by the pack, so they reflect this pack and not the mod's defaults. Here is the one for Aluminum Block:[6]
Crafting Shapeless
Recipe id: allthecompressed:decompress/aluminum_block_1x
The other blocks, like alltheores:raw_uranium_block and alltheores:lumium_block, follow the same pattern with their own recipe ids.
Unverified Whether AllTheOres adds any machines of its own, and how its ores and alloys are processed in this pack, could not be confirmed from the available sources.
How do you progress through AllTheOres?
5 parts
There is no single AllTheOres quest line in this pack. The quests that ask for its materials are spread across the Immersive Engineering, Mekanism, Occultism, Oritech and reactor chapters. Read together, they give you a ladder: hand-made dusts, then alloys, then steel, then the Mekanism and reactor materials.[2][3][8][9][10]
Early game: dusts
The first AllTheOres items you'll want are dusts. Any ore hammer turns ores, raw materials or ingots into dust, and the same hammer cracks sulfur ore and fluorite ore into Sulfur and Fluorite. The pack also adds Actually Additions crushing recipes for raw copper, raw gold and raw iron.[6]
The Occultism quest Ophyx' Calling asks for Iron Dust, Silver Dust, Gold Dust and Copper Dust. It points you to Djinni Crushers, which crush ores more efficiently than Foliots but less efficiently than Afrits or Marids.[9]
Crafting Shapeless
- any ore hammer
- any iron raw material
Recipe id: alltheores:crafting/hammer/iron/dust_from_raw
Hammering is the simplest way to get dust, and this one turns raw iron into iron dust.
Alloy tier
The Immersive Engineering chapter has one quest per alloy, all unlocked after the Alloy Kiln: Electrum Ingot, Bronze Ingot, Constantan Ingot, Brass Ingot and Invar Ingot. The quest says electrum is used a ton in electricity-related things like wires, connectors and transformers. Constantan is used quite a bit in machines and items that use heat and metal, like generators. The quests say bronze, brass and invar aren't very useful in Immersive Engineering itself, and that bronze is used a ton in Modern Industrialization.[2]
The pack changed these alloy recipes in the Immersive Engineering alloy recipes, in the EnderIO alloy smelter and in the Arc Furnace. Here are two Immersive Engineering examples.[6]
Alloy (immersiveengineering)
- any gold ingot
- any silver ingot
Recipe id: alltheores:alloysmelter/electrum/ingot
Alloy (immersiveengineering)
- any copper ingot
- any nickel ingot
Recipe id: alltheores:alloysmelter/constantan/ingot
Steel tier
Steel Ingot is the big gate. The New Beginning quest calls steel entirely modded and lets you pick any of these routes: the Mekanism Metallurgic Infuser, the EnderIO Alloy Smelter, the Immersive Engineering Alloy Kiln or Blast Furnace, the Oritech Foundry, the Productive Metalworks Blast Furnace, or the Railcraft Reborn Blast Furnace.[11]
The Mekanism route has you infuse an iron ingot or dust with 10mB of carbon to get Enriched Iron. You repeat that with another 10mB of carbon to get Steel Dust, then smelt the dust into an ingot. The quest says Mekanism machines, tools, upgrades, reactors and energy cells all need a lot of steel.[3]
Immersive Engineering needs steel for tools, mechanical parts and building blocks. The quest warns that the Crude Blast Furnace and Alloy Kiln can't be automated. Both the Excavator and Arc Furnace quests ask for Steel Block as part of their multiblocks.[2]
The pack changed the steel recipes in the Immersive Engineering alloy recipes, the EnderIO alloy smelter and the Arc Furnace. Here are all three.[6]
Alloy (immersiveengineering)
- any iron ingot
- any coal
Recipe id: alltheores:alloysmelter/steel/ingot
Alloy Smelting (enderio)
- any iron ingot
- any coal
Recipe id: alltheores:alloy_smelting/steel_ingot
Arc Furnace (immersiveengineering)
- any iron ingot
- any nickel ingot
Recipe id: alltheores:arcfurnace/steel/ingot
This is the pack's changed Arc Furnace steel alloy recipe. Check the rendered recipe instead of assuming it matches the other two.
Arc Furnace and rods
The Arc Furnace quest says it needs Graphite Electrodes as fuel, and these can only be placed in its GUI, so they can't be automated. The pack adds Arc Furnace recipes that turn ores plus slag into ingots for constantan, electrum, nickel, osmium, silver, steel and uranium. It also adds recipes that melt sheetmetal back into ingots.[2][6]
Arc Furnace (immersiveengineering)
- any silver ore
- any slag
Recipe id: allthemods:arcfurnace/ores/silver_to_silver_ingot
Arc Furnace (immersiveengineering)
- any uranium raw material
Recipe id: alltheores:arcfurnace/uranium/from_raw
For rods, the pack adds Mekanism Machine Multiplier lathe and stamper recipes for Aluminum Rod, Iron Rod and Steel Rod. The stamper versions use the Immersive Engineering rod mold. The Railgun Ammo quest accepts any of the three rods as its task.[2][6]
Lathe (mekmm)
- any steel ingot
Recipe id: allthemons:mekmm/lathe/steel_rod
Mid to late game: osmium, sulfur and uranium
The Mekanism quest chain starts at Osmium Ingot. The quest says osmium ore spawns below Y level 56 and that many Mekanism machines use it, so you'll need a lot. For Oritech, the first quest asks for Nickel Ingot and tells you to find nickel ore to begin.[3][10]
Mekanism's Tier 4 Ore Processing quest, Creating Sulfuric Acid, asks for Sulfur. The Mekanism: Reactors quest also starts with sulfur, and the follow-up quest needs Fluorite to make hydrofluoric acid, which the quest says you get from mining ores.[3][7]
Uranium Ingot is the key item for Extreme Reactors, and it is also what you pump into the Passive Reactor as fuel. In the Immersive Engineering chapter, the Warm Items quest accepts Uranium Block and lists Uranium at 2,000 K.[2][8]
How does AllTheOres work with other mods?
5 parts
AllTheOres metals are used by several of the pack's other mods. The links below come from in-pack recipes and quests, and a lot of them were added or changed by the pack itself, so you won't see them in a plain AllTheOres install.[2][3][6]
AllTheCompressed
The pack changed the decompress recipes for the 1x compressed blocks, such as Steel Block 1x and Silver Block 1x, gems like Ruby Block 1x, and the raw ore blocks. Each one gives you back the matching AllTheOres block.[6]
Crafting Shapeless
Recipe id: allthecompressed:decompress/steel_block_1x
Steel is one example. The other 1x blocks follow the same pattern.
Salt Block also has a pack-changed shaped recipe that compresses it into Salt Block 1x.[6]
Crafting Shaped
9 × Salt Block
Recipe id: allthecompressed:compress/salt_block_1x
Immersive Engineering
The pack adds Arc Furnace recipes that melt Immersive Engineering sheetmetal back into AllTheOres ingots, and sheetmetal slabs into nuggets. This works for aluminum, constantan, electrum, lead, nickel, silver, steel and uranium.[6]
Arc Furnace (immersiveengineering)
Recipe id: allthemods:arcfurnace/sheetmetal_steel_to_steel_ingot
The Immersive Engineering quest chapter leans on AllTheOres items too. A few examples:[2]
- "Steel Ingot" quest asks for Steel Ingot. The quest says Immersive Engineering uses steel for tools, mechanical parts and building blocks, often as Steel Plates or scaffolding.[2]
- "Electrum Ingot" quest asks for Electrum Ingot, which the quest describes as an alloy of gold and silver used a lot in electricity-related parts.[2]
- "Constantan Ingot" quest asks for Constantan Ingot, which the quest says is used quite a bit in IE machines and items that use heat and metal, like generators.[2]
- The bronze, brass and invar quests ("Bronze Ingot" quest, "Brass Ingot" quest, "Invar Ingot" quest) all say those alloys aren't used much in IE. The bronze quest adds that bronze is used a ton in Modern Industrialization.[2]
- "Excavator" quest (Excavator) and "Arc Furnace" quest (Arc Furnace) both list Steel Block as a task. Their multiblock instructions use Steel Blocks too.[2]
- "Warm Items" quest (Warm Items) accepts Uranium Block as one of its items, and its text gives uranium as 2,000 K.[2]
- "Railgun Ammo from IE" quest (Railgun Ammo from IE) accepts Steel Rod, Iron Rod or Aluminum Rod. The quest text lists Aluminum Rod 10, Iron Rod 16 and Steel Rod 24.[2]
Stamper plates and rods
The pack adds a stamper recipe for each AllTheOres plate and rod. The stamper uses Immersive Engineering's Metal Press Mold: Plate or Metal Press Mold: Rod together with a matching ingot, or diamond for diamond parts. Besides alloys like bronze and steel, this covers plain metals such as copper, iron and gold, plus diamond and netherite.[6]
Stamper (mekmm)

- any steel ingot
Recipe id: allthemons:mekmm/stamper/steel_plate
Mekanism
The Mekanism quest chapter starts you on AllTheOres metals. "Osmium" quest asks for Osmium Ingot, and its text says the ore spawns below Y level 56. "Steel" quest asks for Steel Ingot, made by infusing iron with 10 mB of carbon twice and then smelting the resulting dust.[3]
Applied Energistics 2
The pack adds a recipe for Infinity Range Booster, an upgrade built on the Wireless Booster. It also needs AllTheOres gears, plus a netherite ingot.[6]

Which All the Mons quests use AllTheOres?
6 parts
AllTheOres has no quest chapter of its own. Its metals and dusts show up as tasks in chapters for other mods, so you'll meet them as you work through those. Here's where they appear and what each quest asks you to hand in.[2][3][4][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]
Early game: New Beginning and Oritech
The first Steel quest, "Steel" quest, comes after Iron Age and asks for a Steel Ingot. It says you can make Steel with whichever mod you like, and the quest lists a machine from several mods that all work.[11]
"Oritech Beginnings" quest in the Oritech chapter asks for a Nickel Ingot. Its subtitle tells you to find nickel ore to begin your journey.[10]
Immersive Engineering
This chapter has the most AllTheOres quests. The alloy quests all unlock after the Alloy Kiln quest, and each one asks you to hand in the finished ingot.[2]
- "Electrum Ingot" quest asks for an Electrum Ingot. The quest says it's used in wires, connectors and transformers.[2]
- "Bronze Ingot" quest asks for a Bronze Ingot. The quest says it isn't used much in Immersive Engineering.[2]
- "Constantan Ingot" quest asks for a Constantan Ingot. The quest says it gets quite a bit of use in IE, especially in machines or items that use heat and metal, like generators.[2]
- "Brass Ingot" quest asks for a Brass Ingot. The quest calls it not really used for much in IE.[2]
- "Invar Ingot" quest asks for an Invar Ingot. The quest says it isn't useful in IE.[2]
The Steel Ingot quest, "Steel Ingot" quest, needs both the Crude Blast Furnace and Alloy Kiln quests first and asks for a Steel Ingot. The quest says almost everything in IE needs Steel, and that those two machines can't be automated.[2]
Steel then feeds into the big multiblocks. "Arc Furnace" quest and "Excavator" quest both list an Steel Block among their tasks, alongside IE blocks. Excavator is the hardest and most expensive multiblock in IE, according to its quest, and it comes after the Redstone Engineering, Heavy Engineering, Light Engineering and Radiator Block quests.[2]
"Warm Items" quest comes after Energy from Temperature. It accepts a lava bucket, a magma block or an Uranium Block. Its text gives Magma and Lava as 1300 K and Uranium as 2000 K.[2]
"Railgun Ammo from IE" quest comes after the Railgun quest. It accepts an Steel Rod, Iron Rod, Aluminum Rod, a graphite electrode or a sawblade. The quest text lists a number next to each one, but it doesn't explain what the numbers mean.[2]
Mekanism
"Mekanism" quest in The ATM Star chapter asks for a Steel Ingot. It tells you that the ATM Star needs the Reactors page, and that you have to get through the Mekanism page first.[4]
In the Mekanism chapter, "Osmium" quest comes after the Mekanism quest and asks for an Osmium Ingot. Its text says Osmium ore spawns below Y level 56. Next, the Steel quest "Steel" quest comes after Metallurgic Infuser and asks for another Steel Ingot.[3]
After that, "Creating Sulfuric Acid" quest comes after Machines and asks for Sulfur plus a Chemical Oxidizer, Electric Pump, Electrolytic Separator, Chemical Infuser and Rotary Condensentrator. The chapter's "Mekanism: Reactors" quest quest then unlocks once you've done the Chemical Infuser, Chemical Oxidizer, Chemical Dissolution Chamber, Enrichment Chamber and Rotary Condensentrator quests. It asks for more Sulfur, to get your machines and Sulfur ready.[3]
Mekanism: Reactors
The second Mekanism page starts with another "Mekanism: Reactors" quest. It asks for Sulfur plus a Chemical Oxidizer, Electrolytic Separator and Chemical Infuser, and walks you through making Sulfur Trioxide for Fissile Fuel.[7]
"Sulfur Trioxide into Hydrofluoric Acid" quest follows it. It asks for a Rotary Condensentrator, Chemical Infuser, Chemical Dissolution Chamber and Fluorite, which the quest says you get from mining ores. The goal is to turn your Sulfur Trioxide into Hydrofluoric Acid.[7]
Extreme Reactors
The reactor quests all ask for an Uranium Ingot. "Extreme Reactors" quest in The ATM Star chapter is the entry point. "Extreme Reactors: Reactors" quest in Basic Power comes after Mid Game Power Options and points you to the mod's own chapter.[4][12]
In the Extreme Reactors chapter, "Welcome to Extreme Reactors!" quest asks for Uranium and mentions you'll need a lot of coal and iron too. "Fueling our Passive Reactor" quest comes after Our First Reactor. It asks for more Uranium and explains how to feed fuel in through a Reactor Solid Access Port.[8]
Occultism and Legendaries
"Our First Ritual" quest comes after the Candles, Books of Binding, Bowls and Chalk preparation quests. Its tasks include a Silver Ingot, and the quest is about summoning a Foliot Crusher Demon. "Ophyx' Calling" quest comes after Lime Chalk and asks for Iron Dust, Silver Dust, Gold Dust and Copper Dust. It's an alternate path for Light Blue Chalk using a Djinni Crusher.[9]
The Legendaries chapter's "Magearna" quest comes after The Summoning Altar and Volcanion. Its task list includes Silver Block twice, alongside items from other mods.[13]
