XyCraft World guide for FTB Skies 2 1.13.4 to 1.21.1

What is XyCraft World?

XyCraft World is part of this pack's mod list, and the pack ships version 0.7.53 of it. It was first included in pack version 1.5.1 or earlier, so it has been here for a while.[1]

Unverified The sources I have only confirm that the mod is installed and which version it is. They don't describe what XyCraft World adds, who it suits best, or where it fits in the pack's progression, so I'm not guessing at any of that.

Unverified No quests in this pack were found that involve XyCraft World, and it was not found on the ATM Star path. Neither is confirmed by a source, so check in-game before relying on it.

Once there is a confirmed source for the mod's items, recipes or config, this section can grow into a proper overview. For now, the version above is all I can state as fact.[1]

How do you get started with XyCraft World?

1 part

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

XyCraft World adds a lot of decorative and utility blocks to this pack. The order below is my suggestion, based on how the in-pack recipes feed into each other. The recipe blocks show the exact ingredients.[2]

Suggested first crafts

  1. Make a few Copper Torch or Aluminum Torch. Each torch has a second recipe that accepts the raw material instead of the ingot, so you can light things up before you smelt anything.[2]
  2. Craft a Reinforced Glass Viewer. It is the base for the Immortal Glass Viewer, so it is worth having early if you want that upgrade later.[2][3]
  3. Make Aluminum Bricks. They are the starting point for Aluminum Tiles, and for the colored brick variants such as Blue Aluminum Bricks once you have Xychorium gems.[2]
  4. When your aluminum stockpile grows, pack raw aluminum into a Block of Raw Aluminum to keep your inventory tidy.[2]

Tip: The colored Xychorium items, like Blue Xychorium Gem and its matching Blue Xychorium Gem Storage, come in blue, dark, green, light and red. The colored brick recipes use those gems, so pick your colors before you craft a lot of bricks.[2]

How does XyCraft World work?

6 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

The sources here don't describe any power, fluid or multiblock systems for XyCraft World itself, so this section covers what the pack's recipes and configs show for the mod.[2]

Xychorium ore and gems

Xychorium comes in blue, green, red, dark and light. Each color has stone, deepslate and kivi ore variants, and the pack tags all of those variants together as that color's xychorium ore. That is why one recipe can accept any of them.[4]

If you don't want to hunt for Deepslate Blue Xychorium Ore, the pack adds two ways to make it. One is an Occultism miner recipe and the other is an Actually Additions mining lens recipe that starts from plain deepslate.[2]

Miner (occultism)

Mining Lens (actuallyadditions)

Recipe id: ftb:actuallyadditions/mining_lens/deepslate/xychorium_blue

Actually Additions mining lens route, starting from deepslate, added by the pack.

The pack also adds a crushing recipe for blue ore in many other mods. Here is how many Blue Xychorium Gem each one gives per ore:[2]

Mekanism has a second route: an enriching recipe that gives 10 blue gems per craft. The pack changed it from the mod's own version.[2]

Making gems with molten kivi

You can skip ore entirely with an AE2 fluid transform that happens in molten kivi. One craft gives 4 gems.[2][5]

Transform (ae2)

Recipe id: ftb:ae2/transform/xychorium_gem_blue

The pack has the same kind of transform for all five colors, and each one gives 4 gems.[5]

Kivi itself

The pack's dripper recipes can make Kivi. Use the void crystal catalyst with 1,000 of lava, at a chance of 0.05. Kivi can also be dripped with polymorphic fluid to make a deepslate replica ore, using 250 of fluid at a chance of 0.12.[6]

The pack also has a hammer recipe that crushes 1 kivi into 1 crushed kivi.[7]

The prismatic xychorium item, Prismatic Xychorium, is made in an Industrial Foregoing dissolution chamber. The recipe uses 1,000 of polymorphic fluid and has a processing time of 200.[8]

Aluminum in this pack

The pack removes XyCraft's own aluminum materials: raw aluminum, nuggets, ingots, storage blocks, the aluminum ores and the related smelting and packing recipes. The aluminum building blocks still work, but they take any aluminum ingot from the shared ingot tag instead.[2][4]

Building blocks and crafting

Most of the mod's crafting is for decoration. The bricks recipe makes 4 Aluminum Bricks per craft, and the tiles recipe turns bricks into 4 Aluminum Tiles per craft.[2]

Ore geysers

The mod has an Ore Geyser block. In this pack, both harvestable_node_set.surface_geyser and harvestable_node_set.underground_geyser are set to true.[3][9]

Their placement settings are in the placement config: harvestable_node_set.spacing is 15, harvestable_node_set.separation is 7 and harvestable_node_set.salt is 918273645.[10]

How do you progress through XyCraft World?

4 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

Unverified The sources here show no quests in this pack that involve XyCraft World, and no in-jar guidebook was found for it, so there is no official progression to follow. The stages below are just the order the in-pack recipes build on each other.

Torches and basic glass viewers

The simplest crafts are the metal torches. The Copper Torch can be made from a copper ingot or raw copper plus a wooden rod, and the Aluminum Torch works the same way with aluminum.[2]

The glass viewers start simple too. The Reinforced Glass Viewer uses cheap glass and an iron ingot. The Glowing Glass Viewer uses a glow ink sac with cheap glass, and the RGB Viewer uses a dye with cheap glass.[2]

Aluminum building blocks

Next you move into aluminum. Raw Aluminum can be stored as a Block of Raw Aluminum, and the metal itself leads to Aluminum Bricks and then Aluminum Tiles. The recipes are shown below.[2]

The Matte Aurey Block is also made from a dye and aluminum ingots.[2]

Xychorium gems and colors

Xychorium gems come in blue, dark, green, light and red, for example Blue Xychorium Gem and Red Xychorium Gem. Each color has a matching storage block, such as Green Xychorium Gem Storage.[2]

The gems unlock the colored variants. Inverted bricks like Blue Inverted Bricks craft directly from a gem and lead to inverted tiles such as Blue Inverted Tiles. Colored aluminum bricks like Blue Aluminum Bricks can be made either from the metal or from plain aluminum bricks. Colored aluminum tiles such as Blue Aluminum Tiles then come from the colored bricks.[2]

Immortal blocks and advanced viewers

The immortal set comes in every one of the gem colors, for example Dark Immortal Stone and Dark Immortal Aluminum. Their recipes use aluminum ingots, obsidian, a color item and a block from a matching crafting group.[2]

How does XyCraft World work with other mods?

5 parts

Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide

The links between XyCraft World and other mods in this pack come entirely from recipes. Almost all of them revolve around Kivi and the colored Xychorium gems. Here is where each one plugs into other mods.[2]

Finding Kivi and Xychorium ore

The pack adds a Modern Industrialization quarry recipe called "magical" that takes an Infused Pickaxe. It can output Kivi and every color of Xychorium ore: Blue Xychorium Ore, Dark Xychorium Ore, Green Xychorium Ore, Light Xychorium Ore and Red Xychorium Ore. The same recipe also covers ores from Malum, Occultism and Silent Gear, such as Soulstone Ore, Iesnium Ore and Bort Ore.[2]

Turning Kivi into gems

The pack lets you crush Kivi into Crushed Kivi with a Create crushing recipe or with an FTB Stuff hammer recipe. Both start from Kivi.[2]

From there, Create Sifter sifting recipes added by the pack turn Crushed Kivi into the gems. You can use either an Mechanical Blazing Mesh or an Mechanical Diamond Mesh, and each recipe lists every gem color as a possible output.[2]

Making gems with Applied Energistics 2

The pack also adds an AE2 transform recipe for each gem color. Each one combines Quartz Dust, a dye and molten Kivi. The dye decides the color you get:[2]

4× Blue Xychorium GemAdded by the pack

Transform (ae2)

Recipe id: ftb:ae2/transform/xychorium_gem_blue

The other colors follow the same pattern with their own dye.

Prismatic Xychorium

The pack adds an Industrial Foregoing dissolution chamber recipe that needs a gem of every color. On top of those it needs an Empowered Diamatine Crystal, Polymorphic Fluid Source and a Nether Star. The result is Prismatic Xychorium.[2]

Colored building blocks with vanilla blocks

The mod's own override recipes combine a gem with a vanilla block to make a color-tinted version. For example, Bricks plus a gem gives Blue Bricks or any of the other colors. Crying Obsidian, Chiseled Deepslate and Chiseled Stone Bricks work the same way. These are marked as mod recipes, not pack changes.[2]

Polished Deepslate gives the colored deepslate bricks, such as Red Deepslate Bricks. The chiseled wood pillars, such as Green Chiseled Wood Pillar, take any planks instead of one specific block. Each pillar color also has an alternate recipe whose id ends in _r.[2]

Which XyCraft World config options matter?

2 parts

XyCraft World has only a few config files in this pack, and the ones with values are about where its harvestable node structures generate. Here is exactly how the pack sets them.[11][12]

Structure toggles

Structure placement

Unverified I can't tell you whether any of these values differ from the XyCraft World mod defaults, because no default values were available. I also can't confirm how often the nodes will actually appear in your world, so check the config files yourself if you want to change the generation.
