What is XyCraft World?

XyCraft World is included in this pack at version 0.7.45. It has been in the pack since 1.0.1 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the modlist.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't describe what XyCraft World adds, who it's best suited for, or where it fits in the pack's progression. I haven't confirmed any items, recipes, configs or quests for it, so I'm not guessing. There is also no confirmed ATM Star path involvement for this mod.

How do you get started with XyCraft World?

4 parts

XyCraft World adds a lot of craftable blocks, and the pack's recipes for it start with a few simple ones. Follow the order below and you will have torches, aluminum building blocks and glass viewers in your base. The recipe blocks show the exact in-pack ingredients.[2]

Step one: torches

Start with the Copper Torch and the Aluminum Torch. Each torch has a recipe for the ingot and a separate one for the raw material, so you can make them before you smelt anything.[2]

Next: aluminum bricks and tiles

Aluminum Bricks are the base of the aluminum building blocks, and they are made from aluminum ingots. Craft Aluminum Tiles from the bricks.[2]

Then: glass viewers

The Reinforced Glass Viewer is the entry point for the glass viewers. The Immortal Glass Viewer is crafted from the reinforced one later on.[2][3]

Finally: colors

Once you have Xychorium gems, you can turn plain Aluminum Bricks into a colored version such as Blue Aluminum Bricks. Red, green, light and dark variants exist as well, and each colored brick can be crafted into its own tile.[2]

How does XyCraft World work?

3 parts

In this pack, XyCraft World is about crafting, stonecutting and ore processing. The sources here show recipes and nothing else: no machine screens, power, fluid or item-handling rules for the mod. So this section follows the recipes, starting with the one ore the pack hooks into other mods' machines.[2]

Getting Blue Xychorium Gems

Deepslate Blue Xychorium Ore is not only found in the world. The pack adds two ways to produce it: an Occultism miner recipe and an Actually Additions mining lens recipe. Both are pack-added, not mod defaults.[2]

Miner (occultism)

  • any deep miners

Mining Lens (actuallyadditions)

Recipe id: ftb:actuallyadditions/mining_lens/deepslate/xychorium_blue

Once you have the ore, the pack gives you a crushing recipe in many tech mods that turns it into Blue Xychorium Gem. All of these are added by the pack, and they take any ore in the blue xychorium ore tag. The yield depends on the machine:[2]

Tip: If you want the most gems from each ore, the Create crusher and the Oritech pulverizer both give 3, the highest of the pack's recipes.[2]

You can also skip the ore entirely. The pack adds an Applied Energistics 2 transform recipe that makes 4 gems at a time.[2]

To store the gems compactly, use the packing recipe for Blue Xychorium Gem Storage.[2]

Building blocks and stonecutting

The aluminum building blocks start with Aluminum Bricks, which the mod's own recipe makes 4 at a time. From there, Aluminum Tiles come 4 per brick.[2]

The stonecutter does a lot of the work for this mod. The recipe dump counts 76 stonecutting recipes that make XyCraft World blocks, so check the stonecutter when you want a different style of a block you already have. Two examples are below.[2]

How do you progress through XyCraft World?

4 parts

XyCraft World is a building-block mod, and the recipes here show a clear order to work through. You start with torches and glass, move to aluminum blocks, then colored Xychorium blocks, and finish with the Immortal blocks. This is the order the in-pack recipes stack up in, so use it as a build plan.[2]

Unverified Whether any quest chapter in this pack touches XyCraft World is not shown in the sources here, so this page follows the recipes only. Check the pack's quest book for anything on the mod.

Torches and glass

You can make the Copper Torch and the Aluminum Torch from an ingot or from the raw material, together with a wooden rod. The raw-material recipes are shown below.[2]

For glass, the Reinforced Glass Viewer is made from cheap glass and an iron ingot. The Immortal Glass Viewer is then crafted from the Reinforced Glass Viewer, an aluminum ingot and an obsidian.[2]

Xychorium colors

The recipes use the Xychorium colors red, green, blue, light and dark. Each color has its own gem, such as Blue Xychorium Gem, and a matching storage block, such as Blue Xychorium Gem Storage. The storage recipe takes the colored gem together with any Xychorium gem and a color item of that shade.[2]

Colored aluminum bricks such as Blue Aluminum Bricks can be made from plain aluminum ingots, or by upgrading Aluminum Bricks you already crafted. Both routes need a Xychorium gem and a color item. Colored tiles are crafted from the matching colored bricks.[2]

How does XyCraft World work with other mods?

5 parts

XyCraft World's Xychorium gems and Kivi connect to several other mods in this pack. Most of the routes below were added by the pack itself, and they all come from the pack's recipe data.[2]

Making gems with Applied Energistics 2

The pack adds an AE2 transform recipe for every gem colour: Blue, Dark, Green, Light and Red. Each one turns Quartz Dust into a gem such as Blue Xychorium Gem, using a matching dye and molten kivi. The recipe below shows the blue gem. The other colours follow the same pattern with their own dye.[2]

Every other gem colour has its own matching transform recipe added by the pack.

Kivi, crushing and sifting

Kivi can be turned into Crushed Kivi with a Create crushing recipe or with an FTB Stuff hammer recipe. Both were added by the pack.[2]

Hammer (ftbstuff)

From there, Create Sifter takes over. Sifting Crushed Kivi with a Mechanical Diamond Mesh or a Mechanical Blazing Mesh can give you gems in every colour. Both sifting recipes were added by the pack.[2]

Quarrying with Modern Industrialization

The pack adds a Modern Industrialization quarry recipe called magical, shown below. It is set up around the Infused Pickaxe and covers XyCraft World's Kivi and Xychorium ores in every colour, such as Blue Xychorium Ore and Red Xychorium Ore. Ores from other mods share it, including Soulstone Ore, Iesnium Ore and Bort Ore.[2]

Recipe id: ftb:modern_industrialization/quarry/magical

Prismatic Xychorium

The pack also adds an Industrial Foregoing dissolution chamber recipe for Prismatic Xychorium, shown below. Other mods feed into it, for example Empowered Diamatine Crystal and Polymorphic Fluid Source, and so does vanilla's Nether Star.[2]

The dissolution chamber recipe for Prismatic Xychorium.

Coloured building blocks from vanilla blocks

The gems also connect to vanilla Minecraft, with coloured versions of Bricks, Crying Obsidian and chiseled blocks such as Chiseled Deepslate and Chiseled Tuff, in every gem colour. Deepslate bricks build on Polished Deepslate and only exist in blue, dark, green and light. Chiseled wood pillars accept any planks. These are listed as mod recipes, not pack additions.[2]

Tip: Gems are the key to nearly every connection here. A steady supply of Kivi to crush and sift, or a quarry running, feeds both the coloured building blocks and the Prismatic Xychorium recipe.[2]
