What is XyCraft Override?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide
XyCraft Override is included in this pack at version 0.7.45, shipped as the file xycraft_override-0.7.45.jar. Its registry namespace is xycraft_override.[1]
It has been part of the pack for a while. It first appeared in version 2.2 of the pack or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources I have only confirm that the mod is in the pack and which version it is. They don't describe what the mod adds, who it's best suited for, or where it fits in the progression, so I'm not going to guess. I also can't confirm any quests involving this mod or a place for it on the ATM Star path.
How do you get started with XyCraft Override?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.2.1 guide
XyCraft Override adds colored versions of familiar stone blocks, like bricks, chiseled deepslate, chiseled sandstone and chiseled tuff. The colors are blue, dark, green, light and red. A good way to start is to craft one block and see how the pattern works.[2][3]
Your first crafts
- Start with Blue Bricks. It is the simplest example of the pattern the mod uses, and the recipe is shown below.[2][3]
- Move on to a chiseled variant such as Blue Chiseled Stone Bricks. It follows the same pattern as the bricks.[2][3]
- Try the other colors. The pack has the same style of recipe for each shade, for example Red Bricks and Dark Bricks.[2][3]

One craft makes 2 Blue Bricks.

The chiseled variants also make 2 blocks per craft.
Other styles come in these colors too, including Green Chiseled Deepslate, Light Chiseled Sandstone and Red Chiseled Tuff Bricks. Their recipes are shown below.[2][3]

How many recipes are there?
The pack's recipe dump counts 135 shaped crafting recipes that turn Minecraft and XyCraft World items into XyCraft Override blocks, with 130 different results. You don't need to learn them all. Once you have made one, the rest work the same way.[2]
Stonecutting extras
Smooth Polished Tuff and Smooth Smooth Stone also have stonecutting recipes in this pack, shown below. They are handy to know about if you build with tuff or smooth stone.[2]

How does XyCraft Override work?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.2.1 guide
In this pack, the sources for XyCraft Override cover decorative blocks and the recipes that make them. They don't describe machines, multiblocks, power, fluids or item handling for this mod, so this section stays short and sticks to what they show.[2][3]
Colour variants of vanilla blocks
The mod takes familiar building blocks and adds tinted versions in the colours Blue, Dark, Green, Light and Red. Examples are Blue Bricks, Red Chiseled Deepslate and Dark Chiseled Nether Bricks. The language file lists the same colour pattern for many other stone-type blocks.[3]
How you craft them
The colour variants are made in the crafting grid. Each recipe pairs the plain vanilla block with a Xychorium Gem of the matching colour, such as Blue Xychorium Gem for the blue version. Every example in the dump gives 2 blocks per craft.[2]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/bricks_blue
Blue Bricks, one example of the pattern.
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/chiseled_deepslate_red
The same pattern with chiseled deepslate and a red gem.
There are a lot of these. The dump counts 135 shaped crafting recipes that take items from minecraft and xycraft_world and make xycraft_override items. Together they have 130 different results and 31 different ingredients. The dump writes out only 18 of them.[2]
Smooth blocks with connected textures
Smooth Polished Tuff and Smooth Smooth Stone have no colour in their names. Their tooltips both say they have a connected texture.[3]
Each also has a stonecutting recipe. Its ingredient list names a block group tag, tuff for one and smooth stone for the other, and the result is the smooth block itself.[2]

How do you progress through XyCraft Override?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
This mod has no tier ladder in this pack. What the recipes show is a family of decorative block variants, each made in the colors blue, dark, green, light and red.[4]
How the progression works
Every recipe in the sources is a shaped crafting recipe that combines a vanilla block with a Xychorium Gem of the matching color. So the only step is to get the gem color you want, then craft the block variants you like.[4]
The variants include Blue Bricks, Blue Crying Obsidian, Blue Chiseled Deepslate and Blue Chiseled Tuff. There are also chiseled sandstone, red sandstone, stone bricks, nether bricks, polished blackstone and wood pillar versions, plus deepslate bricks.[4]
Example recipes
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/bricks_blue
Vanilla bricks plus a Blue Xychorium Gem. The other colors use the matching gem.
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/crying_obsidian_blue
Crying obsidian follows the same pattern with the matching gem color.
The deepslate bricks variants use polished deepslate as the base block instead of a block with the same name, so look at the recipe before you gather materials.[4]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/deepslate_bricks_blue
Polished deepslate plus a Blue Xychorium Gem gives Blue Deepslate Bricks.
The chiseled wood pillar is the odd one out. It takes any planks instead of a specific vanilla block, and each color has an additional recipe entry that makes the same pillar.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| any plank | |
| any plank |
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/chiseled_wood_pillar_blue
Any planks plus a Blue Xychorium Gem. The entry ending in _r gives the same result.
Unverified The sources here show no quests for this mod, so any quest chapter or tier gating around it is not confirmed. The recipe dump I was given is also cut off, so this section lists what the shown recipes confirm, not every recipe the mod adds.
How does XyCraft Override work with other mods?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
In this pack, the clearest link between XyCraft Override and other mods is its set of colored building blocks. Each one is crafted from a vanilla Minecraft block plus a Xychorium Gem. The gems come from the xycraft_world namespace, not from XyCraft Override itself.[4]
Every one of these is a standard shaped crafting recipe, and each comes in blue, dark, green, light and red. The gem's color decides the color of the block you get.[4]
Which vanilla blocks get colored versions
Here is each vanilla block that gets a colored version, shown with its blue result as an example. The other colors follow the same pattern.[4]
- Bricks becomes Blue Bricks.[4]
- Chiseled Deepslate becomes Blue Chiseled Deepslate.[4]
- Chiseled Nether Bricks becomes Blue Chiseled Nether Bricks.[4]
- Chiseled Polished Blackstone becomes Blue Chiseled Polished Blackstone.[4]
- Chiseled Red Sandstone becomes Blue Chiseled Red Sandstone.[4]
- Chiseled Sandstone becomes Blue Chiseled Sandstone.[4]
- Chiseled Stone Bricks becomes Blue Chiseled Stone Bricks.[4]
- Chiseled Tuff becomes Blue Chiseled Tuff.[4]
- Chiseled Tuff Bricks becomes Blue Chiseled Tuff Bricks.[4]
- Crying Obsidian becomes Blue Crying Obsidian.[4]
- Deepslate Tiles becomes Blue Deepslate Tiles.[4]
- End Stone Bricks becomes Blue End Stone Bricks.[4]
- Gilded Blackstone becomes Blue Gilded Blackstone.[4]
Recipes that work a little differently
The colored deepslate bricks don't start from deepslate bricks. They use Polished Deepslate as the vanilla block, so Blue Deepslate Bricks is made from that.[4]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/deepslate_bricks_blue
The chiseled wood pillars accept any item from the vanilla planks tag, so any wood type works. Blue Chiseled Wood Pillar is the blue example. Each pillar color also has an extra recipe id ending in _r, and it gives the same result.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| any plank | |
| any plank |
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/chiseled_wood_pillar_blue
A simple example
The brick recipe is a good one to start with, since it only needs a vanilla block and a gem.[4]
