What is Just Dire Things?

3 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide

Just Dire Things is a progression mod that adds new resources, plus tools, armor, wands and machines built from them. Many of the machines are aimed at automation. All the Mods 10 4.5 ships version 1.5.5, and the mod has been in the pack since version 2.25 or earlier.[1][2][3]

The goo system

Everything starts with goo. You place a goo block, activate it by feeding it the item it asks for, then put an eligible block next to it. The goo transforms that block into a new resource. After each transformation there's a 10% chance the goo needs feeding again. Higher tiers can do everything lower tiers can, and they're much faster.[4]

  • Primogel Goo is the first tier, made from simple Overworld materials. It turns Iron into Ferricore.[5]
  • Blazebloom Goo carries the essence of the Nether and turns Gold into Blazegold.[6]
  • VoidShimmer Goo draws on the energies of the End and turns Diamonds into Celestigem.[7]
  • Shadowpulse Goo is the top tier. It turns Netherite into Eclipse Alloy.[8]

Gear and upgrades

Each resource tier has its own set of armor and tools, and both can take upgrades. You install upgrades in a smithing table. Upgrade templates such as Template: Blazegold move your gear to the next tier and keep the upgrades you've already installed.[9][10]

The higher tiers run on Forge Energy. Each Celestigem armor piece stores 10,000 FE and each Eclipse Alloy piece stores 500,000 FE. You can keep them charged on the go with a Pocket Generator.[11][12][13]

Where it fits in this pack

The mod has its own quest chapter. It opens with crafting Primogel Goo in a quest in "?", which leads to Ferricore in a quest in "?". Ferricore unlocks the first tools, armor and simple machines, such as the Simple Block Breaker and Simple Clicker.[14]

From there, Blazebloom Goo in a quest in "?" opens up Blazegold in a quest in "?". The chapter then continues through VoidShimmer Goo in a quest in "?" and Shadowpulse Goo in a quest in "?".[14]

How do you get started with Just Dire Things?

5 parts

Just Dire Things is a tiered mod: almost everything you build comes from one of four materials, and each material is unlocked by a tier of goo. So your first job isn't a machine or a tool, it's a blob of living slime in a hole in the ground.[4][5][6][7][8]

Step 1: Primogel Goo and Ferricore

Primogel Goo is the entry point, and the quest book starts you there with a quest in "?". It's the foundational tier of goo, made from simple Overworld materials, and it turns Iron into Ferricore.[5][15]

  1. Craft a Primogel Goo and place it somewhere you can walk around it.[4][5]
  2. Activate the goo by feeding it the resource it can consume, the goo block itself tells you what it wants.[4]
  3. Place an eligible block next to the activated goo and wait for the transformation to finish.[4]
Tip: After each transformation there's a 10% chance the goo goes inactive and needs feeding again. Anything already transforming will still finish, but the goo won't start anything new until you reactivate it.[4]

That gets you Ferricore, and a quest in "?" tracks both Raw Ferricore and Ferricore Ingot.[15]

Step 2: Ferricore gear and a wrench

Ferricore tools and armor are a small step up from iron on their own (the boots, leggings, chestplate and helmet all beat their iron counterparts slightly) but the real point is that every piece accepts upgrades. Hold shift over a tool to see which upgrades it can take.[16][17][18][19][20]

Upgrades are separate items installed in a smithing table, so grab Upgrade: Blank early via a quest in "?", it's the base for the whole upgrade system. Once something is installed, shift-click the tool in your hand to open the settings screen and toggle abilities or bind them to hotkeys.[15][20][21]

The other must-have here is the Ferricore Wrench from a quest in "?". It rotates blocks and links Swappers, which you'll need the moment you start placing machines.[15][22]

Step 3: Your first simple machines

Most machines come in a simple and an advanced version. The simple ones need no power at all: they only affect the block or entity directly in front of them, and you set how fast they tick with the Speed(ticks) button. That makes them perfect for a starter base.[23]

The Simple Block Breaker from a quest in "?" is the classic first build. Remember it needs an actual tool inside it to work, and that tool takes damage exactly as if you were swinging it yourself.[15][24]

This pack changed the recipe from the mod default.

Watch out: The pack also changed the recipes for the Simple Block Placer and the Simple Swapper, so check them in JEI rather than following an old tutorial.[25]

Step 4: Fuel and power

Primal Coal comes next in a quest in "?", and it feeds the Pocket Generator from a quest in "?". The Pocket Generator is a portable charger for energy-hungry tools and armor: open it, drop in coal or the mod's upgraded coals, and note that higher tier fuels burn hotter and longer for more FE per tick.[13][15]

Pair it with a Fuel Canister so you stop burning a whole piece of coal to smelt one ore. Any normal fuel goes in, and fuel from this mod carries its multiplier into the canister's average.[26]

Step 5: On to Blazegold

When Ferricore feels limiting, build Blazebloom Goo from a quest in "?". It carries the fiery essence of the Nether and turns Gold into Blazegold, and because higher tier goo does everything the lower tiers can, only faster, it replaces your Primogel setup entirely.[4][6][15]

Don't throw your Ferricore gear away. Craft Template: Blazegold and use the smithing table upgrade recipes instead, upgrading this way keeps every upgrade you already installed.[10][20]

Blazegold armor also picks up Lava Repair: drop a piece into a lava source block and it comes back fully repaired. The Blazejet Wand shares that trick and gives you the air burst ability plus no fall damage while it's in your hand, which makes it a great early travel upgrade.[27][28][29][30][31]

How does Just Dire Things work?

11 parts

Most of Just Dire Things comes down to one idea: almost every machine has a simple version and an advanced version. Once you know how those two behave, the rest of the mod is easy to pick up.[23]

Simple vs advanced machines

Simple machines do not need power. They can generally only affect a block or entity directly in front of them, and you control how fast they run with the Speed(ticks) button. Advanced machines are much more powerful but need power to run. They usually cover a large area that you set in the UI, they have filters, and they automatically charge any Forge Energy items you put inside them.[23]

The redstone button decides when a machine runs. By default redstone is ignored, so the machine always runs. Low means it only runs when it is not receiving a signal, and High means it only runs while it is receiving one. Pulse does a single operation per redstone pulse. On a simple machine that is usually one action, like breaking one block, but on an advanced machine it can mean breaking every block in the area.[32]

The Speed(ticks) button sets how often the machine runs while active. The default is 20, which is once per second. The lowest you can set is 1, meaning every tick, and the pack's config keeps that minimum at 1 through general.minimum_machine_tick_speed.[32][33]

Watch out: Setting a machine to run every tick (20 times per second) can contribute to lag. Only do it when you really need to.[32]

Area and filters

  • Render area: click the Render area button to see in the world what the machine will affect. RAD changes the radius, and OFF changes the offset, which moves the centre of the area. Try them with Render area switched on.[34]
  • Filter slots: most advanced machines have a row of them for items, blocks or entities. Drag from JEI, or click a slot with an item in your hand while the GUI is open. To filter entities, use a spawn egg or a Creature Catcher.[34]
  • Allow vs deny: in allow mode only the listed things are affected. In deny mode everything except the listed things is affected.[34]
  • Compare NBT: makes a filter stricter, for example matching enchantments or damage on a tool, or one specific colour of sheep when you filter with a Creature Catcher.[34][35]
  • Exception: the Advanced Dropper cannot change its radius, only its offset, so you can drop items further from the machine.[36]
  • The Item Collector works like an advanced machine even though it is made from Tier 1 resources. It vacuums up item entities in its area and deposits them in the inventory it is attached to. You can filter what it picks up and increase its pickup speed.[37]

Machines in this pack: changed recipes

The advanced versions use the simple machine as a base in their recipes. Those recipes are unchanged by the pack.[25]

What each machine does

  • Block Breaker: the simple version needs a tool in it, such as a pickaxe or shovel, to break the block it faces. It damages the tool (or consumes power) whenever a block breaks, just like a player would. The advanced version has a filter block vs filter item mode. In item mode you filter by the drop, so cobblestone in the filter lets it break stone or cobblestone (unless the pick has silk touch). Its direction button picks which block face is hit, which matters for tools with a hammer-like ability.[24][38]
  • Block Placer: places the block held in its inventory into the space in front of it, and the direction button sets which way it places, which is handy for torches. On the advanced version the filters choose which blocks it can place on, and this respects the direction setting. With 'down' selected, it only places on top of the filtered blocks.[39][40]
  • Clicker: simulates right-click, left-click or hold-click, using the item in its slot (shears, a sword, or nothing for a button). A target button chooses what it clicks on: blocks, air, hostile, passive, adult, child, player or all living. The advanced version covers a larger area and filters blocks or entities, so it works as a mob farm on left-click hostiles or an animal breeder on right-click adults.[41][42]
  • Swapper: swaps blocks and/or entities between itself and a paired partner. Place two, then right click the first and then the second with a Ferricore Wrench to bind them. Block entities like chests swap fine. The advanced version adds area of effect and filtering, and the radius setting is copied to its partner when they are bound.[22][43][44]
  • Sensor: emits a redstone signal when its conditions are met, and can emit a strong or weak signal. You can target blocks, air, hostile, passive, adult, child, player, all living or items. When targeting a block you can right click the filter slot to filter on a specific block state, such as a door being open. The advanced version counts how many matches exist, with a greater-than, less-than or equals option and a number you set.[45][46]
  • Dropper: the simple version drops items in the direction you set. Stack size defaults to 1 and pickup delay defaults to 0. The advanced version has a 3x3 grid of droppable items, and the order of its filter slots sets the order items drop in.[36][47]
  • Player Accessor: lets hoppers or pipes insert or extract items directly from a player's inventory. Buttons set which side accesses which slots, for example the top face equipping armor and the bottom face using the offhand.[48]
  • Machine Settings Copier: shift-right click a machine to copy its settings, then right click another machine to paste them. Click in the air to choose which settings to copy.[49]

Power and generators

Power is Forge Energy (FE). The Simple Coal Generator burns normal furnace fuel or the mod's upgraded coals, and each coal tier raises both the FE per tick and the total FE you get from the same fuel. The Simple Fuel Generator goes further by using refined fluid fuels, which come in 3 tiers.[50][51]

Here are the pack's config values for the coal generator. It stores up to 1,000,000 FE, outputs 1,000 FE per tick, makes 15 FE per burn tick of fuel, and has a burn speed multiplier of 4. The config notes that coal has 1,600 burn ticks and sticks have 100. The settings are generator_t1.generator_t1_max_fe, generator_t1.generator_t1_fe_per_tick, generator_t1.generator_t1_fe_per_fuel_tick and generator_t1.generator_t1_burn_speed_multiplier.[33]

The fluid generator settings in the pack's config give a buffer of 5,000,000 FE and an output of 5,000 FE per tick. Fuel is worth 450 FE per mB at tier 2 (Blaze Ember), 1,300 at tier 3 (Voidflame) and 4,000 at tier 4 (Eclipse Ember). See generator_fluid_t1.fuel_tier2_fe_per_mb, generator_fluid_t1.fuel_tier3_fe_per_mb and generator_fluid_t1.fuel_tier4_fe_per_mb.[33]

The Pocket Generator is the portable option for charging FE tools and armor. You put in coal or the mod's upgraded coals, and higher-tier fuels give more FE per tick. In the pack's config it charges other items at 5,000 FE per tick, holds 1,000,000 FE, makes 15 FE per burn tick, and has a burn speed multiplier of 4. A Fuel Canister also works in it.[13][33]

The config also covers the Tier 1 energy transmitter, which can store 1,000,000 energy and move up to 1,000 RF per tick to machines and other transmitters. It loses 1 percent of the energy per block of distance. The settings are energy_transmitter_t1.energy_transmitter_t1_max_rf, energy_transmitter_t1.energy_transmitter_t1_rf_per_tick and energy_transmitter_t1.energy_transmitter_t1_loss_per_block.[33]

Fuel canister

The Fuel Canister stores and carries large amounts of fuel. Open it with right click and shift-click fuel in. Any fuel works, such as coal or wood, but lava buckets do not. Put the canister in a furnace or generator and it consumes fuel from the canister, so you don't burn a whole piece of coal for one ore.[26]

When you insert fuel from this mod, its fuel multiplier is averaged with the fuel already in the canister, and the tooltip shows the multiplier you will get in a Pocket Generator or Generator. The pack's config caps the canister at 10,000,000 ticks of fuel, and each furnace operation consumes at least 200 ticks.[26][33]

Watch out: There is no way to get fuel back out of a Fuel Canister once it is inside.[26]

Fluid handling

The Fluid Canister holds up to 8 buckets. Right-click it to place or pick up liquids like a bucket. Shift right-click sets auto-filling of other fluid containers in your inventory to None, Just Dire Things items only, or ALL, which includes other mods.[52]

The Simple Fluid Collector tries to collect any fluid in front of it into an internal buffer, and it holds only 1 fluid at a time. Its item slot can fill a bucket or a Fluid Canister. The advanced version covers a larger area, and you filter it by placing a bucket of the fluid in the filter slots.[53][54]

The Simple Fluid Placer has a tank and an item slot for buckets or canisters. It places fluid into the world once the tank holds enough and nothing is already in front of it. The advanced version places over a larger area, and its filters choose which blocks fluids are placed on.[55][56]

Goo

Goo transforms blocks placed next to it. You craft a goo block and place it, feed it the resource it asks for to activate it, then put an eligible block beside it. Higher-tier goo can do everything lower tiers can, and does it much faster.[4]

After a transformation there is a 10% chance the goo needs reactivating with another item. While inactive it cannot start new transformations, but work already underway finishes. The pack keeps goo.goo_can_die set to true, so goo can randomly die and need reviving by right clicking it with an item.[4][33]

  • Primogel Goo: turns Iron into Ferricore, and a coal block next to it becomes Primal Coal.[5][57]
  • Blazebloom Goo: turns Gold into Blazegold, and a block of Primal Coal next to it becomes Blaze Ember.[6][58]
  • VoidShimmer Goo: turns Diamonds into Celestigem, and a block of Blaze Ember next to it becomes Voidflame Coal.[7][59]
  • Shadowpulse Goo: turns Netherite into Eclipse Alloy, and a block of Voidflame Coal next to it becomes Eclipse Ember.[8][60]

Polymorphic fluid and refined fuels

Drop a Polymorphic Catalyst into water to make Polymorphic Fluid, the base for the mod's other fluids. Dropping Blaze Ember into it makes Unrefined Blaze Ember Fuel, which you place beside a Blazebloom Goo block to refine. Refined Voidflame Fuel starts by dropping Voidflame Coal into Refined Blaze Ember Fuel, then exposing it to VoidShimmer Goo. Refined Eclipse Ember Fuel starts by dropping Eclipse Ember into Refined Voidflame Fuel, then placing it next to Shadowpulse Goo. Each of these refined fuels works in the Fuel Generator.[61][62][63][64][65]

Portal Fluid for the Advanced Portal Gun starts by dropping a Portal Fluid Catalyst into a block of Polymorphic Fluid. The unstable version breaks down immediately anywhere outside the End, so use VoidShimmer Goo or higher to stabilize it. You fill the gun by right clicking a source block or with a Fluid Canister.[66][67]

The pack's config gives the Portal Gun (V1) a 100,000 FE buffer and a cost of 1,000 FE per shot. The Advanced Portal Gun (V2) has a 1,000,000 FE buffer and costs 5,000 FE per shot.[33]

Time Wand

The Time Wand needs both Forge Energy and Time Fluid. Right click any block that ticks, such as a furnace or crops. The first click makes it run twice as fast, and each further click doubles it to 4x, 8x and so on up to 256x. Each speed-up costs both FE and Time Fluid, and the boost lasts 30 seconds. Time Fluid is made by dropping a Time Crystal into a pool of Polymorphic Fluid.[68][69]

In the pack's config the wand holds 100,000 FE. The FE cost is 750 and the Time Fluid cost is 0.5, and both are multiplied by the acceleration amount. For example, going from 128 to 256 charges 256 times each value.[33]

Tool and armor abilities

Tools and armor take upgrades through a smithing table, and the upgrades are kept when you upgrade to the next tier. Shift-click a tool in your hand to open its settings and toggle upgrades. Right click an upgrade for its settings or a hotkey. A hotkey toggles a passive ability and triggers an active one. Tools can also be switched off completely with a hotkey, which is 'v' by default.[10][20]

Watch out: The pack's config turns the ore scanner ability off, so don't expect it to be available here. Most other abilities in that file are on.[33]

How do you progress through Just Dire Things?

5 parts

Progression in Just Dire Things runs on four material tiers, and the pack's quest chapter follows them in order: Ferricore, Blazegold, Celestigem and Eclipse Alloy. Each tier is unlocked with its own goo block, and the goo turns a vanilla material into the next resource.[4][5][6][7][8][15]

The goo ladder

To use goo, you craft a goo block and place it in the world. You then activate it by feeding it the resource it consumes, and place an eligible block next to it. After a block is transformed there is a 10% chance the goo needs reactivating. While it is inactive it won't start new transformations, but anything already in progress finishes. Higher tier goo can do everything a lower tier can, and does it much faster.[4]

  1. Start with Primogel Goo (a quest in "?"). It transforms Iron into Ferricore, and the next quest, a quest in "?", asks for Raw Ferricore and a Ferricore Ingot.[5][15]
  2. Next comes Blazebloom Goo (a quest in "?"), which transforms Gold into Blazegold. a quest in "?" then asks for Raw Blazegold and a Blazegold Ingot. Raw Blazegold can be smelted or blasted into an ingot.[6][15][25]
  3. VoidShimmer Goo (a quest in "?") transforms Diamonds into Celestigem. The follow-up, a quest in "?", asks for Celestigem.[7][15]
  4. At the top is Shadowpulse Goo (a quest in "?"), which transforms Netherite into Eclipse Alloy. a quest in "?" asks for Raw Eclipse Alloy and an Eclipse Alloy Ingot.[8][15]

The coal and fuel line

The coal quests run alongside the goo quests and each one is gated behind the previous tier's coal: Primal Coal, then Blaze Ember, then Voidflame Coal, then Eclipse Ember. Each coal also needs its matching goo quest. The refined fuel buckets follow the same order: Blaze Ember Fuel Bucket, Voidflame Fuel Bucket and Eclipse Ember Fuel Bucket. These buckets also need the Polymorphic Fluid Bucket quest, and the first one needs Blaze Ember.[15]

Tools and armor

Every resource tier has a matching set of tools and armor, and each set can take upgrades. You move up a tier at the smithing table with the upgrade templates, and installed upgrades are kept when you upgrade that way. The quest chapter has a template quest for each tier, plus a quest for Upgrade: Blank after the Ferricore tier.[10][15][20]

Here is what a smithing upgrade looks like in this pack, using the Blazegold Pickaxe as the example:[25]

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: justdirethings:blazegold_pickaxe-templateupgrade

The Celestigem tier follows the same pattern, with smithing recipes that take the Blazegold version of each tool or armor piece. Paxels only show up in the quests from Celestigem upwards. The Celestigem Paxel is made from the three matching Celestigem tools.[15][25]

Paxel (justdirethings)

Machines by tier

Most machines come in a simple and an advanced version. Simple ones don't need power and generally only affect the block or entity directly in front of them. Advanced ones need power, cover a larger configurable area and have filters.[23]

The pack changed the recipes for the simple machines, so don't rely on the mod's defaults. The Simple Block Breaker, Simple Block Placer, Simple Clicker and Simple Dropper all unlock after the Ferricore quest, alongside the Simple Fluid Collector, Simple Fluid Placer, Simple Sensor and Simple Fuel Generator. The Simple Swapper sits one tier higher, behind the Blazegold quest.[15][25]

Wands and portals

Each of the upper tiers has a wand quest: Blazejet Wand at Blazegold, Voidshift Wand at Celestigem and Eclipsegate Wand at Eclipse Alloy. The Portal Gun comes after the Blazegold quest, and the Advanced Portal Gun comes after the Celestigem quest. The Advanced Portal Gun adds a favorites menu, opened with the default hotkey 'v', and it must be filled with Portal Fluid.[15][67]

How does Just Dire Things work with other mods?

3 parts

Just Dire Things connects to other mods in this pack mostly through crafting recipes. The recipe dump shows links to Productive Bees, Quarry Plus, Time in a Bottle and Patchouli. The visible part of the mod's quest chapter only uses Just Dire Things items, so I can't point you to a quest that crosses over into another mod.[15][25]

Productive Bees

Productive Bees has a bee conversion recipe for each tier of goo. Primogel Goo is paired with the ferricore bee. Blazebloom Goo is paired with the blazegold bee. VoidShimmer Goo is paired with the celestigem bee. Shadowpulse Goo is paired with the eclipsealloy bee. The goo tiers run from Primogel to Shadowpulse, and the bees follow the same material line as the mod's own resources.[25]

The bees also feed back into your resource chain. Productive Bees centrifuge recipes for the matching honeycombs give you Raw Blazegold, Celestigem, Raw Eclipse Alloy and Raw Ferricore, each together with Wax. In other words, you can get these materials from bees as well as from the goo.[25]

Unverified The recipe dump lists no item inputs for these centrifuge recipes, and it doesn't describe how the bee conversion is triggered. Check the recipes in JEI in-game for the exact setup. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

Pack-added recipes with other mods

Two recipes in this pack were added by the pack itself rather than by either mod, and both use Just Dire Things gear. The first is for Quarry Plus. It combines Just Dire Things items with Allthemodium items and a Productive Lib upgrade.[25]

The second is for Time in a Bottle. It mixes one Just Dire Things tool with tools from AE2 and Occultism, plus Productive Lib upgrades.[25]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Just Dire Things?

3 parts

All the Just Dire Things quests live in a single chapter called "justdirethings". Every quest in it is untitled, so you'll recognise them by the item they ask for. Almost all of them have one task: get a specific item. Two quests have two items (a raw ore plus its ingot), and the ore scanner upgrade quest also has a checkmark task.[15]

Starting point: goo and coal

The goo quests are the backbone of the chapter. a quest in "?" asks for Primogel Goo and opens the first branches: a quest in "?" for Primal Coal, a quest in "?" for Blazebloom Goo, and a quest in "?" for Raw Ferricore and Ferricore Ingot.[15]

  1. a quest in "?" asks for Blaze Ember and needs both the second goo quest and the Primal Coal quest.[15]
  2. a quest in "?" asks for VoidShimmer Goo. a quest in "?" then asks for Voidflame Coal once you also have Blaze Ember done.[15]
  3. a quest in "?" asks for Shadowpulse Goo, and a quest in "?" asks for Eclipse Ember.[15]

The fuel buckets run as a separate line. a quest in "?" asks for the Polymorphic Fluid Bucket, then a quest in "?" asks for the Portal Fluid Bucket. The refined fuels follow in order: a quest in "?" for Blaze Ember Fuel Bucket, a quest in "?" for Voidflame Fuel Bucket and a quest in "?" for Eclipse Ember Fuel Bucket.[15]

Material tiers

Each material has its own ingot or gem quest, and the gear and machines for that tier hang off it. The ingot quests are a quest in "?" (Ferricore), a quest in "?" (Raw Blazegold and Blazegold Ingot), a quest in "?" (Celestigem) and a quest in "?" (Raw Eclipse Alloy and Eclipse Alloy Ingot).[15]

Templates and upgrades

Each material also has a template quest: a quest in "?" (Template: Ferricore), a quest in "?" (Template: Blazegold), a quest in "?" (Template: Celestigem) and a quest in "?" (Template: Eclipse Alloy). Each one needs its material's ingot or gem quest first, and all four also depend on the same upgrade-related quest.[15]

The rest of the chapter is upgrade quests, which come in two groups depending on which prerequisite they hang off. One group includes a quest in "?" (Upgrade: Flight), a quest in "?" (Upgrade: Elytra), a quest in "?" (Upgrade: Death Protection) and a quest in "?" (Upgrade: Phase). The other includes a quest in "?" (Upgrade: Treefeller), a quest in "?" (Upgrade: Hammer) and a quest in "?" (Upgrade: Smelter). a quest in "?" asks for Upgrade: Blank.[15]

Unverified Several quests in this chapter depend on prerequisite quests that are not part of the information I have, so I can't say what those prerequisites ask for, which chapter they belong to, or how the upgrade groups are unlocked.

Which Just Dire Things config options matter?

5 parts

Just Dire Things keeps its settings in config/justdirethings-common.toml. Everything below is the value this pack actually ships, so use these numbers rather than what you might remember from other modpacks.[33]

Unverified The pack file lists only the current values, not the mod's own defaults. I can't tell you which of these values the pack changed from the mod default.

The pack leaves the ability toggles enabled, with one exception: abilities.orescanner is set to false. That is the only ability switched off. Flight (abilities.flight), instant breaking (abilities.instabreak), death protection (abilities.deathprotection) and the rest are all true.[33]

Generators

Energy transmitter and fuel canister

Portal gun and time wand

Tip: The Time Wand cost scales with the acceleration. Going from 128 to 256 charges 256 times the per-use value, in both FE and Time Fluid, so plan your buffer before you speed things up.[33]

Other settings

The minimum machine tick speed is 1, meaning machines can run every tick (general.minimum_machine_tick_speed). Goo can randomly die and need reviving by right clicking with an item, because goo.goo_can_die is true.[33]
