What is Farmer's Delight?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Farmer's Delight is a cozy expansion to farming and cooking. It gently builds on the vanilla farming loop, so you can turn familiar ingredients into a wide variety of hearty meals using a simple cooking system.[1]
The food ranges from sandwiches and salads to stews, desserts and full feasts. The mod is built so that no ingredient gets left behind in your kitchen.[1]
What else it adds
- A way to improve the soil your crops grow in.[1]
- New tools and weapons for hunting and gathering.[1]
- Decorations for your builds, plus many other blocks and items to help along the way.[1]
Who it is for
If you like a relaxed side of modded Minecraft, with food and farming that feel like part of your base, this mod is for you. It is a good fit for anyone who wants cooking to be more than eating raw crops and bread.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships Farmer's Delight 1.3.3, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since version 2.25 or earlier.[2]
How do you get started with Farmer's Delight?
5 parts
Welcome to the kitchen! Farmer's Delight expands farming and cooking with a simple cooking system and a handful of familiar ingredients. It also adds new tools, ways to improve your soil, and cozy decorations. Here's a sensible order for your first steps in this pack.[1]
Step 1: Forage for wild crops
The new crops grow wild across many climates, so keep an eye out while you explore. Cabbages and beetroots grow on beach coasts. Carrots and onions grow in temperate lands like plains and forests. Potatoes grow in cold lands like mountains and taigas, and tomatoes in arid lands like savannas and deserts. Rice grows in the ponds of wet lands such as swamps and jungles.[3]
Step 2: Craft a knife
Your very first craft should be a knife, and the Flint Knife is the easiest to start with. Knives are light melee weapons with fast swings and gentle damage. They're really gathering tools: they harvest Straw from grasses and guarantee secondary drops from animals. You also need one to cut Ham from Pigs or Hoglins.[3][4]
Your starter knife
Once you have iron, you can upgrade to the Iron Knife. Heads up: this pack has changed the recipes for the Golden Knife and the Diamond Knife, so check the recipe blocks rather than relying on memory from other packs.[4]

Step 3: Collect Straw and make Canvas
With your knife in hand, harvest grass, wheat or rice to collect Straw. Straw is a dry plant fiber used in crafting. The first thing to turn it into is Canvas, which feeds into items like the farmersdelight:basket and the Canvas Sign.[3][4]
Step 4: Build your kitchen
Next, make a Cutting Board. With a tool in hand, you use it on the board to break down an item. That's how you'll process many ingredients.[3][4]

Then craft the Cooking Pot, the heart of the mod. Put it down and start preparing meals. Warm bowl meals give the Comfort effect, which provides natural regeneration regardless of how hungry you are. Plated meals give Nourishment, which prevents hunger loss except when you use saturation to heal damage.[3][4]

Step 5: Start your farm
- Plant grains of Rice in a shallow water puddle.[3]
- Hang some rope above a tomato crop to make it grow taller.[3]
- Place Organic Compost down. It slowly decays into Rich Soil, an upgrade for your farms, and composts better with sun, water and mushrooms.[3]
- If you need dough early on, craft wheat with a Water Bucket. The bucket's water isn't used up.[3]
Once your crops are rolling in, you can store them compactly in crates such as the Cabbage Crate. The pack has changed the carrot and beetroot crate recipes, so check them in your recipe viewer.[4]
How does Farmer's Delight work?
7 parts
Farmer's Delight doesn't use power, pipes or multiblocks. It runs on a simple cooking system built around a few kitchen blocks, handy tools, and upgrades to how your crops and soil work. If you ever get lost, the mod's advancements explain many of the basic concepts. Pick up any item and press L (by default) to open the Advancements screen.[1]
Cooking Pot
The Cooking Pot is the heart of the mod. Put one down and start preparing meals! A finished pot can hold several servings of a meal, and its tooltip shows how many servings it has and what they are.[3]

Heat, Campfires and the Skillet
Heat matters in this mod. Place down a Campfire to cook some food. The Skillet lets you cook on the go: stand near a heat source, then hold food in your other hand. You can also sneak to place the Skillet down as a block.[3]
Cutting Board and Knives
The Cutting Board breaks items down into their parts. Hold a tool in your hand, then use the Cutting Board to process an item.[3]

Knives are lightweight melee weapons with fast swings and gentle damage, and they're also your best gathering tool. They guarantee secondary drops from animals, and they're the only way to cut Ham from Pigs or Hoglins. A Sword won't do it![3]
If you harvest grass, wheat or rice with a Knife, you'll also collect Straw. Straw is a dry plant fiber used in crafting, for example to make Canvas.[3][4]
Once you're further along, you can upgrade your Knife to a Netherite one. It costs a whole Netherite Ingot.[3]
Meal Effects: Comfort and Nourishment
Many meals give you more than just hunger points. Warm bowl meals give Comfort, which provides natural regeneration no matter how hungry you are. That makes them great for healing steadily.[3]
Plated meals give Nourishment, which stops you from losing hunger for a while. There's one exception: hunger still drains when your saturation is used to heal damage.[3]
Some meals are feasts. They're big enough to place down as a block and share with your friends. Smaller treats have their own effects too: Hot Cocoa clears 1 harmful effect, and Melon Juice gives minor Instant Health.[3]
Soil: Organic Compost and Rich Soil
You can upgrade your farm's soil. Placed Organic Compost slowly decays into Rich Soil, an upgrade for your farms. The compost works faster with sun, water and mushrooms nearby. JEI also notes that it's sped up by adjacent water and by adjacent activator blocks, which it lists on the same page.[3]
Rich Soil also unlocks Mushroom Colonies. To grow a colony you'll need very rich soil, and you can shear a fully mature colony to harvest it.[3]
Crop Mechanics
The mod adds four new crops, found in the wild across many climates or sometimes in chests. A few of them grow in special ways:[3]
- Rice is planted in a shallow water puddle. In the wild, look for it in the ponds of wet lands such as swamps and jungles.[3]
- Tomatoes grow taller if you hang some rope above the crop. Wild tomatoes show up in arid lands such as savannas and deserts.[3]
- Wild cabbages and beetroots are common on beach coasts, wild carrots and onions in temperate lands like plains and forests, and wild potatoes in cold lands such as mountains and taigas.[3]
Handy Crafting Tricks and Storage Crates
You can turn wheat into Dough by crafting it with a Water Bucket. Don't worry, the bucket's water isn't used up![3]
Crates let you pack crops into a single block, and you can craft them back into the crop. For example, a Cabbage Crate turns back into Cabbage. Pay attention to two of them in All the Mods 10: the pack changed the recipes for the Beetroot Crate and the Carrot Crate. Check the in-pack recipes below instead of relying on older guides.[4]

Pies can also be put back together. If you have leftover slices, you can craft a Slice of Apple Pie back into a whole Apple Pie, and the same works for the Chocolate Pie.[4]
Unverified The available sources don't explain how Farmer's Delight blocks work with automation. That includes hoppers or pipes feeding the Cooking Pot or Cutting Board, how servings are taken out of the pot, and what Cabinets and Baskets do. These details are left out until they can be confirmed.
How do you progress through Farmer's Delight?
5 parts
Farmer's Delight doesn't have a big gated tech tree. Everything below is ordinary crafting table recipes in this pack, so the path is really about which items unlock the next ones. Here's how the pieces fit together.[4]
Your first workstations
Start with the Cutting Board and the Cooking Pot. Both use the mod's own shaped recipes in this pack, so what the recipe viewer shows is the standard setup.[4]

Knife tiers
Knives come in several materials, and the recipe list includes a knife for each of them. Some keep the mod's recipe and some have been changed by the pack.[4]
- Flint Knife uses the mod's own recipe.[4]
- Iron Knife uses the mod's own recipe.[4]
- Golden Knife has a recipe changed by the pack.[4]
- Diamond Knife has a recipe changed by the pack.[4]

Straw, canvas and compost
Straw is a key early material. It crafts into Canvas, and it's also part of both Organic Compost recipes, one with Tree Bark and one with rotten flesh.[4]

Once you have Canvas, you can make the farmersdelight:basket, the Canvas Sign, the Hanging Canvas Sign and the Canvas Rug. The rug converts back into Canvas, and plain canvas signs can be dyed into the coloured versions like the Black Canvas Sign.[4]
Crop storage crates
Crates let you compact your harvest. In this pack the Carrot Crate, Potato Crate and Beetroot Crate recipes are changed by the pack. The Cabbage Crate and Onion Crate keep the mod's recipes, and both can be crafted back into Cabbage and Onion.[4]

How does Farmer's Delight work with other mods?
4 parts
Farmer's Delight doesn't live in its own little kitchen in this pack. Its crops, soil and materials show up in recipes from several other mods, and several of these recipes have been changed by the pack. Always check the recipe cards below for the exact in-pack version.[4]
Cutting modded logs
Farmer's Delight's cutting recipes also work on some modded wood. Cutting Echo Log gives you Stripped Echo Log plus Tree Bark, and Echo Wood gives Stripped Echo Wood plus bark. Silent Gear's Netherwood works the same way, giving Stripped Netherwood Log and Tree Bark. All three recipes are changed by the pack.[4]

Ice and Fire adds Farmer's Delight cooking recipes that combine Rice Crops with dragon flesh. You can make Fried Rice with Fire Dragon Flesh from Fire Dragon Flesh, Fried Rice with Ice Dragon Flesh from Ice Dragon Flesh, and Fried Rice with Lightning Dragon Flesh from Lightning Dragon Flesh. These are the mod's own recipes and are not changed by the pack.[4]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Farmer's Delight?
2 parts
In this pack, Farmer's Delight has one quest, and it sits in the Building Tips chapter. That chapter is a decoration and building guide rather than a cooking or farming chapter, so the quest looks at the mod from a decor angle.[5]
Where it sits in the chapter
The path starts at "Building Tips!" quest, the opening quest of the chapter. From there it leads to "Decoration!" quest, which says modded Minecraft has far more decoration than just stairs. Next comes "Decor Mods!" quest, a hub of mods the author likes for decorating a house or base. "Farmer's Delight" quest unlocks right after that hub.[5]
It shares that spot with other decor mod quests that also unlock after the hub: "Cooking for Blockheads" quest, "Handcrafted" quest, "Storage Delight" quest, "Sushi Go Crafting" quest, "Macaw's Mods" quest, "Macaw's Furniture" quest, "Mr Crayfish's Mods" quest and "Macaw's Holidays" quest. You can take them in any order.[5]
What the quest covers
The quest is an item task. The quest data doesn't name a specific item for it, so check the quest book in game to see what it accepts.[5]
The quest text describes the mod as being about farming and cooking food items, which you can also use for decoration. It points out a few things you can build with:[5]
- The Stove, Pots and Pans, which it calls perfect for a kitchen.[5]
- The Food Barrels, which it recommends for a pantry.[5]
- The farm items, which it suggests for outdoor decor.[5]
- The Cabinets, which it says suit any room.[5]
Nothing else in the Building Tips chapter is a Farmer's Delight quest. Neighbours like "Storage Delight" quest and "Cooking for Blockheads" quest are about other mods.[5]
What changed in Farmer's Delight between versions?

Updates across pack releases
Here is every Farmer's Delight version bump recorded in the pack changelogs, oldest first:[7][8][9][10][11]
- All the Mods 10 2.33 updated Farmer's Delight from 1.2.6 to 1.2.7.[7]
- All the Mods 10 3.2 updated Farmer's Delight from 1.2.7 to 1.2.8.[8]
