What is Farmer's Delight?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Farmer's Delight is a cozy expansion to farming and cooking. It gently builds on the vanilla farming loop, so you can turn familiar ingredients into a wide variety of hearty meals using a simple cooking system.[1]
The food ranges from sandwiches and salads to stews, desserts and full feasts. The mod is built so that no ingredient gets left behind in your kitchen.[1]
What else it adds
- A way to improve the soil your crops grow in.[1]
- New tools and weapons for hunting and gathering.[1]
- Decorations for your builds, plus many other blocks and items to help along the way.[1]
Who it is for
If you like a relaxed side of modded Minecraft, with food and farming that feel like part of your base, this mod is for you. It is a good fit for anyone who wants cooking to be more than eating raw crops and bread.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships Farmer's Delight 1.3.3, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since version 2.25 or earlier.[2]
How do you get started with Farmer's Delight?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide
The best way to learn Farmer's Delight is to follow its advancements. They cover most of the basic concepts. Pick up any item, then press L (the default key) to open the Advancements screen and see what to do next.[1]
The order below follows those advancements: make a knife, collect Straw, set up a Cutting Board, find the new wild crops, and then start cooking.[3]
Step 1: Craft a knife
Your first real tool is a knife. It's a light melee weapon with fast swings and gentle damage, but its main job is gathering. With a knife you can harvest Straw from grasses, and animals always drop their secondary drops. You also need something lighter than a sword to cut Ham from Pigs or Hoglins.[3]
The cheapest knife, perfect for day one.
Once you have some iron, you can upgrade to the Iron Knife.[4]

Step 2: Collect Straw and make Canvas
Harvest grass, wheat or rice with your knife to collect Straw. Straw is a dry plant fiber used in crafting. One of its first uses is Canvas.[3][4]
Step 3: Set up a Cutting Board
The Cutting Board lets you break an item down. Hold a tool in your hand and use the board.[3]

Step 4: Find the wild crops
The mod's crops grow wild in many climates, and you can sometimes find them in chests too. Here's where to look:[3]
- Cabbage and beetroot grow wild on beach coasts.[3]
- Carrots and onions grow in temperate lands, such as plains and forests.[3]
- Potatoes grow in cold lands, such as mountains and taigas.[3]
- Tomatoes grow in arid lands, such as savannas and deserts. Hang some rope above a tomato crop to make it grow taller.[3]
- Rice grows in the ponds of wet lands, such as swamps and jungles. Plant the grains in a shallow water puddle.[3]
Step 5: Start cooking
Place a Campfire to cook some food, then build a Cooking Pot and put it down to start preparing meals.[3]

Meals are worth the effort because of their effects. Warm bowl meals give Comfort, which provides natural regeneration no matter how hungry you are. Plated meals give Nourishment, which prevents hunger loss, except when saturation is used to heal damage.[3]
How does Farmer's Delight work?
6 parts
Farmer's Delight gently expands farming and cooking. It uses a simple cooking system built on familiar ingredients, so you can turn a normal farm into sandwiches, salads, stews, desserts and shareable feasts, and it adds utilities on top: a way to improve the soil your crops grow in, new tools and weapons for hunting and gathering, and a pile of decorative blocks.[1]
There is no power, no fluid network and no multiblock to build here. Everything runs on placed blocks, held tools and a bit of heat, and the mod's advancements double as its tutorial, so keep an eye on them as you play.[1][5]
Cooking: pot, campfire and skillet
The Cooking Pot is the heart of the mod. Place one down and you can start preparing meals, and a filled pot tells you how many servings of a meal it currently holds when you hover over it.[5]

A plain Campfire is also a cooking station in its own right, and placing one is one of the first steps the mod nudges you towards.[5]
The Skillet is the portable option. Sneak to place it down as a block, or keep it in hand: stand near a heat source, hold food in your other hand, and you can cook on the go without setting up a kitchen.[5]
The Cutting Board
The Cutting Board breaks items down instead of building them up. Put a tool in your hand, use the board, and it processes the item on it, that is how you get things like slices and by-products out of ingredients you already have.[5]

Knives, straw and canvas
A Knife is a lightweight melee weapon with fast swings and gentle damage, and it is also a harvesting tool: it collects Straw when you cut grasses, wheat or rice, and it guarantees the secondary drops from animals.[5]
Knives are also the only way to carve a Ham out of a Pig or Hoglin: a sword is too heavy for the job. If you want the top-tier version, upgrading a knife to Netherite costs a whole Netherite Ingot.[5]
Straw is the mod's crafting fibre, and it feeds into Canvas, which in turn becomes signs, rugs and the Basket. Canvas Rugs can be turned back into Canvas, so nothing is wasted if you redecorate.[5][6]
Soil, composting and crops
Organic Compost is a block you place in the world rather than a machine you feed. It composts better with sun, water and mushrooms, and over time it decays into Rich Soil, a straight upgrade for your farmland.[5]
The recipe viewer shows what speeds that decomposition up: adjacent water, and adjacent activator blocks listed alongside the entry. If you want compost to convert quickly, build the pile next to water and surround it with those activators.[5]
Very rich soil also lets Mushroom Colonies grow. Shear a fully mature colony to harvest it rather than breaking it.[5]
The mod adds four new crops that generate in the wild across many climates, and you can also find their seeds in chests. Cabbages and beetroots show up along beach coasts, carrots and onions in temperate lands like plains and forests, potatoes in cold lands like mountains and taigas, tomatoes in arid lands like savannas and deserts, and rice in the ponds of wet biomes such as swamps and jungles.[5]
- Rice is planted as grains in a shallow water puddle rather than on farmland.[5]
- Hang rope above a tomato crop and it will grow taller, giving you a ropelogged harvest.[5]
- Rotten Tomatoes are throwable, hitting a raider with one is its own little achievement.[5]
What the food actually does
Meals are split into two broad effect families. Warm bowl meals grant Comfort, which provides natural regeneration regardless of how hungry you are, so you keep healing steadily even on a low hunger bar.[5]
Plated meals grant Nourishment instead, which prevents hunger loss entirely, except when saturation is being spent to heal damage. That makes plated food the pick before a long trip away from your kitchen.[5]
Some meals are big enough to be placed down as a block and shared with friends, those are the feasts. Drinks have their own perks too: Hot Cocoa clears one harmful effect, and Melon Juice gives minor instant health.[5]
Storage and kitchen blocks
Crops compress into crates for compact storage, and the crates uncraft straight back into the crop, so they work as a normal nine-to-one storage block. The pack includes crates for cabbage, carrots and beetroot among others.[6]
Cabinets round out the kitchen furniture and come in a variant for essentially every wood type in the game, including bamboo, cherry and the nether woods, so you can match them to whatever you are building with.[6]

Recipe id: farmersdelight:birch_cabinet
Every wood type has its own matching cabinet recipe.
Canvas Signs and Hanging Canvas Signs can be dyed after crafting, so you can make one blank sign and recolour it to whatever fits the build.[6]
Unverified The exact hopper and automation behaviour of the Basket, Cabinets and the Cooking Pot's input and output slots is not covered by the sources available for this pack, so test it in-world before you build around it.
How do you progress through Farmer's Delight?
5 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.12 guide
The easiest way to plan your Farmer's Delight progression in this pack is to follow its crafting recipes. Start with a knife and a couple of kitchen workstations, then build up straw and canvas materials, and finally work toward the bigger multi-step meals. Every recipe card below shows the exact in-pack version, so you can trust it over older guides.[4]
Knife tiers
Knives come in four material tiers: the Flint Knife, the Iron Knife, the Golden Knife and the Diamond Knife. The flint and iron versions use the mod's own recipes. This pack has changed the golden and diamond recipes.[4]
The cheapest knife tier.

Kitchen workstations
Your two core kitchen blocks are the Cutting Board and the Cooking Pot. Both use the mod's standard recipes in this pack. The Cutting Board is the cheaper of the two, so it's a good first craft.[4]

Straw, canvas and compost
Straw is one of the mod's key materials. It crafts into Canvas, and Canvas is what you need for the farmersdelight:basket, the Canvas Rug, the Canvas Sign and the Hanging Canvas Sign. You can dye both sign types into any colour, and a Canvas Rug crafts back into Canvas if you change your mind.[4]
Straw also goes into Organic Compost. There are two recipes: one uses Tree Bark and the other uses rotten flesh, so you can craft whichever one you have materials for.[4]

Crops and storage
Once your farm is running, crates keep your crops compact. You can craft the Cabbage Crate and Onion Crate back into loose Cabbage and Onion. There are also the Carrot Crate, Potato Crate and Beetroot Crate. If you end up with loose Cabbage Leaf, you can craft them back into a whole Cabbage.[4]
Working up to meals
- Start with the simple crafted foods, such as the Honey Cookie, Melon Juice, Egg Sandwich or Nether Salad.[4]
- Next, craft a Pie Crust, which leads into the Apple Pie and Chocolate Pie. You can also put slices back together into a full pie.[4]
- Then get some Cooked Rice. It's part of the Cod Roll, the Kelp Roll and the Honey Glazed Ham.[4]
- Finally, make a Beef Patty for the Hamburger. The Honey Glazed Ham also needs Smoked Ham, so it sits near the end of the chain.[4]

How does Farmer's Delight work with other mods?
2 parts
In this pack, the connections between Farmer's Delight and other mods that show up in the recipes all go through its cutting recipes. Logs from two other mods can be processed the same way you'd process Farmer's Delight's own wood, and they give you Tree Bark as a byproduct.[6]
Deeper and Darker wood
Both Echo Log and Echo Wood have a cutting recipe. Each one gives you the stripped version, Stripped Echo Log or Stripped Echo Wood, plus a piece of tree bark.[6]

Silent Gear netherwood
Silent Gear's Netherwood works the same way. Cutting it gives you Stripped Netherwood Log and tree bark.[6]

Unverified Beyond these three cutting recipes, I couldn't confirm any other recipes in this pack that connect Farmer's Delight to other mods, so I haven't listed any.
Which Farmer's Delight config options matter?
The Farmer's Delight project page says modpack makers are free to customize the mod for the experience they're building. That means a setting in this pack could differ from the mod's default, so don't assume the two match.[1]
Unverified No Farmer's Delight config files for this pack were available, so which options the pack changes from the mod defaults, and their exact values, could not be confirmed.
What changed in Farmer's Delight between versions?
2 parts
All the Mods 10 1.15 ships Farmer's Delight 1.2.4a. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 0.32 or earlier, so the changes below are the two most recent releases of the mod itself.[7]
1.2.4a (1.21)
This is the version you are playing in 1.15. It is a fix release, and it also refreshed several translations.[7][8]
- Fixed a crash when placing a Mangrove Cabinet, Canvas Signs or Hanging Canvas Signs.[8]
- Fixed a sporadic CME crash caused by item override registration.[8]
- Fixed meal duplication when using containers against a Cooking Pot block, then closing and reloading the world.[8]
- Updated translations: de_de, es_mx, ja_jp, ru_ru and uk_ua.[8]
1.2.4 (1.21): tag changes
This release moved the mod's tags over to the common "c" namespace. It matters most if you write datapacks, recipes or scripts that rely on the old forge tags.[9]
- All forge tags were updated to the c namespace, with a few changes and additions.[9]
- Many tags now live in the c:foods/ subgroup. The exception is c:crops/grain, because those items are inedible.[9]
- Many tags with specific subgrouping were sunsetted. For example, forge:vegetables/tomato was phased out as redundant in favor of c:foods/tomato, and tomatoes are still added to c:foods/vegetables.[9]
- farmersdelight:wolf_prey was removed in favor of c:foods/raw_meat.[9]
- Added c:foods/safe_raw_fish, a version of c:foods/raw_fish that does not include Pufferfish.[9]
Unverified The sources contain no pack changelog entries for this mod, so any pack-specific changes to Farmer's Delight across All the Mods 10 releases are unverified.
