What is Extended AE?
2 parts
Extended AE is an add-on for Applied Energistics 2 that streamlines your storage and crafting workflows. It gives you bigger, faster versions of AE2 staples along with brand new machines and tools. This pack runs version 1.21-2.2.23 for NeoForge, and the mod has been included since pack version 2.2 or earlier.[1][2]
What you get
- A 36-slot Pattern Provider and Interface, so one block can craft or export huge recipe sets.[1]
- Import and Export Buses that run x8 faster, plus Tag, Mod and Precise Export Buses that filter by item tag, by mod ID or export exactly per slot.[1]
- The Extended Pattern Access Terminal in wired and wireless versions, and a Pattern Modifier to batch-edit and clone your crafting patterns.[1]
- Infinity Cells that give you endless water or cobblestone.[1]
- The Extended Molecular Assembler with x8 parallel crafting, and the Assembler Matrix, a multiblock built around the Assembler Matrix Frame. Its edges are between 3 and 7 blocks long, each pattern core adds 36 pattern slots and each craft core runs 8 crafting jobs at once, all while saving you channels.[1][3]
- Support machines like the Circuit Slicer, which slices material blocks straight into processor prints and is usually around 9x faster than an Inscriber, and the ME Canner, which fills containers with fluids and can fill other things when the matching addons are installed.[4][5]
- The ME Wireless Connector, a long-range bridge for your network.[1]
Where it fits
Extended AE builds on top of Applied Energistics 2, so it's something you grow into once your AE2 network is up and running. Most of its extended devices are too complex for a crafting table, which means you'll want a Crystal Assembler early on.[1][6]
The key resource is the Entro Crystal, the main crafting ingredient for most Extended AE items and machines. You get it by harvesting Entro Clusters from Budding Entroized Fluix. It grows a lot like certus quartz, but the budding block always degrades in the end, so plan for a steady supply.[7][8]
Unverified The mod page says Extended AE doesn't support JEI since 1.21 without FTB JEI Extra. Whether this pack includes that mod is unverified. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Extended AE?
5 parts
Welcome to Extended AE! Almost everything in this mod starts with one material, Entro Crystal. It's the main crafting ingredient for most of the mod's items and machines, so your first job is getting a steady supply of it. After that you build the machine that crafts everything else.[8]
Step 1: Get Entro Crystals
Entro Crystals grow from Budding Entroized Fluix, much like Certus Quartz does. To get one, craft an Entro Seed and right-click a Fluix Block in the world with it. The block turns into Budding Entroized Fluix, and you harvest the Entro Cluster that grows on it.[8][9][10]

You can also inject the seed with a machine, but the guide says that gives a lower-grade budding block than doing it by hand. For your first setup, right-clicking it yourself is the better route.[10]
If you break a bud before it's fully grown, you get Entro Shard instead. Don't throw those away, because they can be crafted back into crystals.[11]
Pack shortcuts
This pack gives you extra ways to get crystals. The first is a pack-added crafting recipe that turns Entro Essence from Mystical Agriculture into an Entro Crystal. The second is a reaction recipe for crystals that the pack has changed from the mod's version.[12]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: kubejs:mysticalagriculture/entro_essence_crafting
You can also crush a crystal into Entro Dust with a Mekanism crusher, using another pack-added recipe. Dust matters because it's used to craft certain machines, and it's needed for the ingot in the next step.[12][13]
Crushing (mekanism)

Step 2: Make the Entro Ingot and Machine Frame
Crystals are too friable to use in a machine frame, so the mod fuses them with gold into Entro Infused Ingot. The pack has changed this recipe from the mod default, so use the one below.[12][14]
Next comes the Extended Machine Frame. You need it for the Crystal Assembler in the next step, and it also shows up in the Assembler Matrix Frame recipe later on.[12]

Step 3: Build the Crystal Assembler
The Crystal Assembler is your key machine. Most Extended AE devices are too complex for a crafting table, so you craft them here. It can also do certain in-world transformation recipes, like fluix transformation.[6]

Where to go next
Once the Crystal Assembler is running, you can start on the devices that make Extended AE worth it:[6]
- ME Extended Pattern Provider is a pattern provider with a larger pattern inventory, so you need fewer subnets.[15]
- ME Extended Drive is a drive with a larger cell inventory that holds 20 storage cells.[16]
- Extended Molecular Assembler runs 8 crafting jobs at once and is 2x faster than the normal one. It only takes crafting jobs from a pattern provider.[17]
- Config Modifier bulk-edits the config inventories of devices like interfaces.[18]

How does Extended AE work?
10 parts
Extended AE is an add-on for Applied Energistics 2 that streamlines storage and crafting workflows. Everything here plugs into your ME network, so if you already know AE2, you'll feel at home quickly. Let's go through how the machines, multiblock and automation parts actually work.[1]
The foundation: Machine Frame and Crystal Assembler
The Extended Machine Frame is the base of the mod. Most block-form machines in Extended AE need one.[19]

Most of the extended devices are too complex for a normal crafting table, so you'll craft them in the Crystal Assembler. It can also do certain in-world transformation recipes, like fluix transformation. Keep in mind that its screen face can't connect to your network.[6]

The Entro crystal system
Entro Crystal is the main crafting ingredient for most Extended AE items and machines. It grows from Budding Entroized Fluix, in the same way Certus Quartz grows.[8][9]
- Craft an Entro Seed.[9]
- Right click a Fluix Block in the world with the seed. The block turns into Budding Entroized Fluix.[9][10]
- Let the buds grow, then harvest the Entro Cluster to get Entro Crystals.[8]

The seed can also be injected by a machine instead of by hand, but that gives a lower grade of Budding Entroized Fluix than the manual route. Unlike budding certus, a Budding Entroized Fluix block always degrades, and you can't avoid it.[7][10]
If you break an Entro bud before it is fully grown, you get Entro Shard instead. Eight shards can be crafted back into a crystal.[11]
Assembler Matrix multiblock
The Assembler Matrix is a multiblock crafter. It can run a lot of crafting jobs at the same time, as long as your ME network has enough crafting resources, and it saves you channels.[3]
- Shape: a rectangular prism with edge lengths between 3 and 7.[3]
- Edges are made of Assembler Matrix Frame.[3]
- Faces are made of Assembler Matrix Wall or Assembler Matrix Glass.[3]
- The interior is made up of pattern, craft and speed cores.[3]
- Pattern core: the matrix only takes patterns from its pattern cores, and each one provides 36 pattern slots.[3]
- Craft core: the matrix hands received crafting jobs to its craft cores, and each one runs 8 jobs at the same time.[3]
- Speed core: 5 speed cores let the matrix run at full speed. More than 5 give no extra boost.[3]
Right click a formed and online matrix to open its GUI. There you can put in or search patterns and see how many jobs it is running. The pack changed the frame recipe, so use this one rather than any default you may remember.[3][12]

Machines
- Extended Molecular Assembler (Extended Molecular Assembler): runs 8 crafting jobs at once and is 2x faster than the normal one. You can't put a pattern into it directly.[17]
- Extended Inscriber (Extended Inscriber): runs 4 inscribing jobs at once. It has a button to change the max stack size of its inventory, and setting the size to 1 is suggested for some setups to avoid possible issues.[20]
- Circuit Slicer (Circuit Slicer): slices material blocks straight into processor prints, and is 9x faster than the inscriber at most times. Glass faces without a port can't connect to the network.[5]
- Extended Charger (Extended Charger): charges 4 items at the same time.[21]
- ME Crystal Fixer (Crystal Fixer): repairs budding certus blocks and turns them into the upgraded one. It needs power, and you right-click it to insert items.[22]
ME Canner
The ME Canner fills containers. The first slot holds what to fill with, and the second holds what is to be filled. Every operation costs 80 AE. It only fills fluids by default, and you need an addon to fill other things: Applied Flux, Applied Mekanistics or Applied Botanics Addon.[4]
Only the top and bottom sides accept energy and connect to the network. For autocrafting, the canner ejects the filled item automatically once it accepts the ingredients. The pattern must contain only the thing to fill and the container to be filled. To drain a container, use Empty mode and swap the pattern's inputs and outputs.[4]
Storage and item handling
- ME Extended Drive holds 20 storage cells.[16]
- ME Ingredient Buffer holds 36 types of anything, from items to fluids.[23]
- Oversize Interface (ME Oversize Interface) has the same slot count as a normal interface, but each slot holds 16 times more (1024 instead of 64). Its multiplier is configurable.[24]
- Infinity Cells hold 2.1 billion items or fluids. You can extract infinity cobblestone or water from them, or inject infinity cobblestone or water into them.[25]
- ME Void Cell must be partitioned before use. It then deletes everything that matches its filter, or condenses it.[26]

Buses, emitters and the Formation Plane
The ME Extended Import and Export Buses work faster than the normal ones. The default speed multiplier is 8, and it's configurable. They also have more upgrade slots. The ME Extended IO Port (ME Extended IO Port) is 8x faster than the normal one and also has more upgrade slots.[27][28]
- Mod Export Bus (ME Mod Export Bus) and Mod Storage Bus: filter by mod name or mod id. Separate several mods with commas.[29][30]
- Tag Export Bus and Tag Storage Bus: filter by item or fluid tags. The storage bus also supports basic logic operators, for example c:ingots/* | c:gems/* accepts all ingots and gems.[31][32]
- Precise Export Bus: exports exact quantities, and only if the container can accept the entire amount. With 3 cobblestone set, it stops when the network has fewer than 3 or the chest can't take all 3.[33]
- Precise Storage Bus: filtered with a number, and it only inserts items up to that limit.[34]
- Threshold Export Bus: exports when the stored amount of an item is above or below a threshold, depending on its mode.[35]
- Threshold Level Emitter: works like a Reset-Set latch with a lower and an upper threshold. With 100 as the lower and 150 as the upper, it turns on above 150 and stays on until the amount falls below 100.[36]
- Active Formation Plane: places blocks or drops items actively, with no subnet needed. It works like an export setup, but places blocks instead of outputting to a chest.[37]
Patterns and crafting automation
ME Extended Pattern Provider has a larger pattern inventory, so you often don't need a subnet. ME Extended Interface has a larger config inventory. The mod's feature list gives 36 slots for both. Both also exist as cable parts.[1][15][38]
The Extended Pattern Access Terminal adds search by input or output ingredient names, highlighting of matched patterns in the GUI, and in-world highlighting of a Pattern Provider. That last one is handy for finding which provider is stuck during big crafting jobs.[39]
The Pattern Modifier has several modes: multiply or divide a processing pattern's amounts, replace one ingredient with another, change substitution settings, and clone. Division only works when the amount divides evenly, and multiplication is capped at 999,999 per ingredient.[40]
The Config Modifier edits config inventories in bulk by clicking a device or part in the world. Its modes are add, subtract, multiply, divide, maximize, minimize, set and clear.[18]

Upgrading devices without losing settings
Upgrade items replace normal ME devices with extended versions. Sneak + right click the device, and all settings and inventory are kept. There are upgrades for pattern providers, interfaces, import/export buses, pattern access terminals and drives.[41]
Crafting Shapeless
- any extended pattern provider
- any ingot

The ME Packing Tape works similarly to move setups. Sneak + right click a supported device and you get a package item that keeps its settings and inventory. Right click with the package to unpack it. The list of supported devices is configurable.[42]
Wireless links
The ME Wireless Connector links two networks. Its range is limited and it can't cross dimensions. Connections are one-to-one. You link two connectors by clicking each with the ME Wireless Setup Kit. Connectors can be colored and only connect to others of the same color.[43]
Power cost rises with distance, on a curve that isn't linear, so very long links get expensive. Each power-saving card reduces the cost by 10%. The ME Wireless Hub works the same way but has 8 ports, so it can connect up to 8 hubs or connectors. When all ports are full, disconnect one with the X button.[43][44]
Unverified The pack has no config files for this mod that I could check, so I can't confirm whether the bus speed multiplier of 8, the oversize interface multiplier of 16 or the Packing Tape device list are the pack's values or defaults. Also, I couldn't see the full recipe list, so other pack changes to the machines may exist.
How do you progress through Extended AE?
6 parts
Unverified I couldn't confirm any quests in this pack that involve this mod, and it isn't on the ATM Star quest path. The tiers below follow the in-pack recipes instead.
Tier 1: Entro materials
Everything starts with Entro. In this pack you can get Entro Crystal from Mystical Agriculture's Entro essence, using a recipe the pack adds. You can also make it with an Advanced AE reaction recipe from a Fluix Crystal, Entro Dust and water, and the pack changes that recipe.[12]
The pack also adds a Mekanism crushing recipe that turns an Entro Crystal into Entro Dust. That dust feeds the Entro Infused Ingot, which has two routes. One is a Crystal Assembler recipe. The other is an Advanced AE reaction recipe that the pack changes. Your first Crystal Assembler needs a frame that needs an ingot, so your first ingots have to come from the reaction recipe.[12]
Tier 2: Machine frame and Crystal Assembler
The Extended Machine Frame is the base of most of this mod. It needs an Entro Infused Ingot, and it is crafted in a normal crafting grid.[12]

Tier 3: Concurrent Processor
The Concurrent Processor is the key component for multi-thread machines, so it gates most of what follows. First you need the Inscriber Concurrent Press, which the Crystal Assembler makes from a Silicon Press, an Ender Eye and an Entro gem. The pack changes the processor recipe itself, so follow the one below.[12][45]
Crystal Assembler (extendedae)
4× Printed Silicon
4× Printed Concurrent Circuit
- 4× any redstone dust
Recipe id: extendedae:assembler/concurrent_processor
The Circuit Slicer is a good early payoff. It slices material blocks straight into processor prints, and the in-game guide says it's 9x faster than an inscriber most of the time. It needs one of each inscriber press, including the Concurrent one, plus a machine frame.[5][12]
Tier 4: Extended devices and upgrades
With Concurrent Processors you can build the upgraded versions of standard AE2 machines in the Crystal Assembler. These use a Concurrent Processor:[12]
The ME Extended IO Port also needs one, and the extended import and export buses are Crystal Assembler recipes too, built around an Acceleration Card and a piston.[12]
You don't have to tear down your existing network. The upgrade items (Pattern Provider Upgrade, Interface Upgrade, Import/Export Bus Upgrade, Pattern Access Terminal Upgrade and Drive Upgrade) turn normal devices into their extended versions when you Sneak + Right Click them. Settings and inventory are kept.[41]
Each upgrade is crafted from the matching extended device plus any ingot.[12]
Tier 5: Assembler Matrix
The Assembler Matrix is the big endgame multiblock for this mod. It runs many crafting jobs at once and saves you channels. It's a rectangular prism with edge lengths between 3 and 7, and it must be completely filled, not hollow. The frame forms the edges, walls or glass form the faces, and the cores fill the interior. It needs at least one pattern core and one craft core.[3]
The pack changes the Assembler Matrix Frame recipe, so follow this one.[12]

The walls and glass are crafted from quartz blocks, Fluix and Entro Infused Ingots. The cores are Crystal Assembler recipes that each use an Assembler Matrix Wall.[12]
- Assembler Matrix Pattern Core: provides 36 pattern slots, and the matrix only takes patterns from pattern cores.[3][12]
- Assembler Matrix Craft Core: each one runs 8 crafting jobs at the same time.[3][12]
- Assembler Matrix Speed Core: 5 speed cores give full speed, and more than 5 add nothing. It needs a Concurrent Processor.[3][12]

Side branches
These don't gate anything, so pick them up whenever they fit your setup.[12]
- ME Canner fills containers with fluids by default, and every operation costs 80 AE. Other resources need an addon: Applied Flux, Applied Mekanistics or Applied Botanics Addon. It's built from an ME Ingredient Buffer, a machine frame and two AE2 cores.[4][12]
- Config Modifier bulk-edits config inventories, for example setting amounts to the maximum or clearing them. It's a plain crafting table recipe.[12][18]
- The ME Tag Storage Bus, ME Mod Storage Bus and ME Precise Storage Bus are storage bus variants. Their recipes are shown below.[12]
- ME Void Cell is crafted from a 16k storage component, a Matter Condenser and an Overflow Destruction Card.[12]

How does Extended AE work with other mods?
4 parts
Extended AE is an add-on for Applied Energistics 2, so almost everything it adds is built from AE2 parts. The pack also ties it into several other mods through its own recipes. This section covers those connections, based on the in-pack recipes.[1][12]
Applied Energistics 2 is the foundation
The Crystal Assembler is the hub for most of Extended AE. It is crafted in a normal crafting grid from AE2 parts plus Extended AE's own Extended Machine Frame. The in-game guide says most of the extended devices are too complex for a crafting table, so you need the Crystal Assembler to make them.[6][12]

Many Extended AE machines are upgrades of AE2 machines, made in the Crystal Assembler. The ME Extended Drive starts from the ME Drive, the Extended Charger from the Charger, the Extended Inscriber from the Inscriber, and the Extended Molecular Assembler from the Molecular Assembler. Each one also needs a Concurrent Processor.[12]
Crystal Assembler (extendedae)

4× Molecular Assembler
Acceleration Card
4× Concurrent Processor
- 4× any fluix dust

The same pattern applies to the buses. The ME Extended Export Bus is built from the ME Export Bus, and the ME Precise Storage Bus from the ME Storage Bus. The ME Threshold Export Bus uses the ME Level Emitter, and the Pattern Modifier and Config Modifier both use the Blank Pattern.[12]
The Concurrent Processor and what the pack changed
The Concurrent Processor is used in multi-thread machines so they can handle several jobs at once. It shows up in recipes from Extended AE and from other add-ons, so it is worth setting up a steady supply.[12][45]
The pack changed the Crystal Assembler recipe for the Concurrent Processor. It also added a Modern Industrialization assembler recipe that makes the processor from Printed Silicon, Printed Concurrent Circuit and Molten Redstone.[12]
Assembler (modern_industrialization)
Recipe id: modern_industrialization:kjs/bqhp6amcxj75yk6e0avcu5zi9

The pack also added an inscriber recipe that makes the Printed Concurrent Circuit from an Entro Crystal and the Universal Press. Another pack-added recipe crafts an Entro Crystal straight from Entro Essence.[12]
Inscriber (ae2)
Recipe id: kubejs:inscriber/universal_press/concurrent_processor_print
Pack-added inscriber recipe for the Printed Concurrent Circuit.
The Circuit Slicer has a pack-added alternative recipe that uses the Universal Press instead of the full set of AE2 presses. The guide says the Circuit Slicer cuts material blocks into processor prints directly, which makes it faster than an inscriber most of the time.[5][12]
Other add-ons that build on Extended AE
- Advanced AE: the Advanced Extended Pattern Provider is made from the ME Extended Pattern Provider. The Quantum Computer parts, including the Quantum Crafting Unit, Quantum Computer Accelerator and Quantum Computer Multi-Threader, all need a Concurrent Processor. The pack changed all of these recipes.[12]
- Advanced AE also has a reaction recipe that turns a Fluix Crystal, Entro Dust and water into an Entro Crystal. The pack changed it. A plain transform recipe from Extended AE itself also makes an Entro Crystal from a Fluix Crystal and entro dust.[12]
- Expanded AE: the ME Expanded Pattern Provider, Expanded Pattern Provider Upgrade and ME Expanded IO Port are all crafted from Extended AE parts, namely the ME Extended Pattern Provider, Concurrent Processor and ME Extended IO Port. The pack changed these recipes.[12]
- AE2 Wireless Terminal Library: the pack changed the combine recipes that merge the Wireless Extended Pattern Access Terminal with the Wireless Crafting Terminal, the Wireless Pattern Access Terminal, the Wireless Pattern Encoding Terminal, or the Wireless Expanded Pattern Encoding Terminal.[12]
Mekanism, storage mods and bees
- Mekanism: the enriching recipe that turns Quartz Blend into Silicon was changed by the pack. The Crusher is also an ingredient in the pack's Gravel Cell recipe.[12]
- Gravel Cell: the pack added a recipe that turns the Infinity Cobblestone Cell into a Gravel Cell. It uses Gravel 6x, the three Allthemodium alloy ingots, Quartz Glass and the Crusher.[12]
- All the Compressed: the Entro Block and Block of Silicon can be compressed into Entro Block 1x and Block of Silicon 1x, and back again. The pack changed these recipes.[12]
- Productive Bees: the pack changed the transform recipe that uses Entro Dust on a configurable bee to produce a configurable bee and a Spawn Egg Configurable Bee.[12]
