What is Ars Elemental?
1 part
Ars Elemental is included in this pack at version 0.7.5.0.1, built for Minecraft 1.21.1. It has been in the pack since version 2.2 or earlier, so it is a long-standing part of the mod list.[1]
Where you meet it in the quest book
The quest book gives the mod a place in the "basic_armor" chapter. That chapter has a quest for each elemental armor set, and each quest asks you to get the hat, robes, leggings and boots of that set.[2]
- Earth: Geomancer's Hat, Geomancer's Robes, Geomancer's Leggings and Geomancer's Boots (quest a quest in "?").[2]
- Water: Aquamancer's Hat, Aquamancer's Robes, Aquamancer's Leggings and Aquamancer's Boots (quest a quest in "?").[2]
- Fire: Pyromancer's Hat, Pyromancer's Robes, Pyromancer's Leggings and Pyromancer's Boots (quest a quest in "?").[2]
- Air: Aethermancer's Hat, Aethermancer's Robes, Aethermancer's Leggings and Aethermancer's Boots (quest a quest in "?").[2]
The sets carry the names Geomancer, Aquamancer, Pyromancer and Aethermancer, matching the earth, water, fire and air pieces above.[2]
Unverified The sources here include no guidebook or platform description for Ars Elemental, so its wider mechanics are not covered in this section. They also do not show the mod on the ATM Star quest path.
How do you get started with Ars Elemental?
3 parts
Welcome to Ars Elemental in this pack! The quickest way to get your bearings is the quest book chapter called basic_armor. Each quest in it asks you to collect a full elemental armor set: hat, robes, leggings and boots.[2]
- a quest in "?": the Geomancer's set (earth).[2]
- a quest in "?": the Aquamancer's set (water).[2]
- a quest in "?": the Pyromancer's set (fire).[2]
- a quest in "?": the Aethermancer's set (air).[2]
Start with an elemental armor set
Each elemental piece is an upgrade of an Ars Nouveau magic armor piece, and the pack has changed every one of these armor recipes. Don't rely on what you remember from the base mod. The recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack versions, and every other piece follows the same pattern for its slot and element.[3]
Armor Upgrade (ars_elemental)
Mark of Mastery
2× Earth Essence
- any magic hood
- any netherite ingot
Recipe id: ars_elemental:earth_hat
Geomancer's Hat, changed by the pack. The other earth pieces follow the same pattern.
Armor Upgrade (ars_elemental)
Mark of Mastery
2× Air Essence
- any magic robe
- any netherite ingot
Recipe id: ars_elemental:air_robes
Aethermancer's Robes, changed by the pack. The other air pieces follow the same pattern.
Every armor upgrade needs a Mark of Mastery. The mod describes getting it as combining the essences with the tribute.[3][4]
Each set also has its own bonus, which is a good way to choose your first one:[4]
- Air: absorbs some air-related damage and converts it into mana, and greatly reduces fall damage.[4]
- Aqua: absorbs some water-related damage and converts it into mana, and refills your air if you are about to drown.[4]
- Earth: absorbs some earth-related damage and converts it into mana, and gives you food deep underground if you are about to starve.[4]
- Fire: absorbs some fire-related damage and converts it into mana, and instantly clears fire.[4]
Storage for your gear
The Trinkets Pouch (Trinkets Pouch) is a simple craft. The Spellcaster Bag (Spellcaster Bag) is crafted from the Trinkets Pouch, so make the pouch first. The pack has changed the Spellcaster Bag recipe, so use the block below rather than the base mod recipe.[3]

Elemental foci
Once you have a Mark of Mastery, you can upgrade a lesser focus into a full one. For example, Focus of Air is an upgrade of Lesser Focus of Air, and Focus of Earth is an upgrade of Lesser Focus of Earth.[3]

How does Ars Elemental work?
6 parts
In the sources available here, Ars Elemental's mechanics come down to crafting stations, rituals, familiars, armor sets and spell glyphs. None of them describes machines with power, fluid or item handling. This section covers what the sources do explain.[3][4]
Where things get crafted
Most of the mod's special items are made at stations from Ars Nouveau. The Air Bangle and the Focus of Air come from the enchanting apparatus. The Acceleration Prism Lens and the Air Infused Turret come from imbuement. Simpler items like the Trinkets Pouch use ordinary crafting.[3]
The Air Bangle is made at the enchanting apparatus.
Imbuement (ars_nouveau)

The Focus of Air is an upgrade. You take the Lesser Focus of Air and combine it with the Mark of Mastery at the apparatus.[3]
This is the upgrade from the lesser focus to the full focus, made at the enchanting apparatus.
Armor upgrades
The Aethermancer's armor pieces use their own upgrade recipe type, and the pack has changed those recipes. That covers the Aethermancer's Hat, Aethermancer's Robes, Aethermancer's Leggings and Aethermancer's Boots. The Slipstream Current Elevator recipe is also changed by the pack. Use the recipe blocks below rather than the mod's default recipes.[3]

This enchanting apparatus recipe is also changed by the pack.
Each elemental armor set has a set bonus, and the in-game tooltip shows it when you hold the set-info key. The air set absorbs some air-related damage and converts it into mana, and it highly reduces fall damage. The water set also converts damage into mana and refills your air if you're about to drown. The earth set gives food deep underground if you're about to starve. The fire set instantly clears fire.[4]
Rituals
The mod adds extra ritual tablets, such as Conjure Island: Archwood Forest. This one creates an island of grass and dirt in a circle around the ritual and converts the area to an Archwood Forest. The island has a radius of 7 blocks. Each Source Gem you augment the ritual with adds 1 to the radius. You also need to provide Source nearby while the blocks generate. Augmenting with an Elemental Archfruit makes it convert to a thematic forest instead.[3][4]
Crafting Shapeless
- any archwood log
Abjuration Essence
Conjuration Essence
Recipe id: ars_elemental:ritual_archwood_forest
The tablet is crafted from essences and any archwood log.
Familiars
Familiars are obtained by performing the Ritual of Binding near the matching creature. A Flarecannon Familiar increases the damage of Fire spells by 2 and reduces projectile-based spell costs by 20%. You can feed it a Magma Cream for a short Fire Resistance buff.[4]
A Siren Familiar increases the damage of Water spells by 2. It also gives the summoner Dolphin Grace II while in water.[4]
Enchantments and threads
- Mirror Shield can only go on the Enchanter's Shield. It gives a 25% chance per level of reflecting a spell projectile while you block.[4]
- Soulbound stops the enchanted item from being lost on death.[4]
- The Shock thread makes damaging effects shock the target for a short duration before the effect resolves, and it inflicts Static Charged at tier 3.[4]
- The Spore thread makes damaging effects poison the target or make it hungry for a short duration before the effect resolves.[4]
- The Summon thread reduces Summon Sickness by 10% for each tier. From tier 2 it also slightly increases damage dealt by summoned creatures.[4]
Spell glyph quirks
- Homing projectiles seek the nearest entity and act like a classic projectile when there is no valid target. Players are only targeted if you augment the glyph with Sensitive.[4]
- Arc projectiles are affected by gravity, and each Pierce applied makes them bounce once when they hit the ground.[4]
- Life Link shares damage you take with the target, and healing the target receives is shared with you. Sensitive reverses the direction, and Cut ends the link on both sides.[4]
- Charm makes enemies fight for you as a temporary ally, with tamable mobs being tamed and wild animals falling in love. Each Amplify and damage dealt raises the success chance, and stronger mobs resist more.[4]
How do you progress through Ars Elemental?
4 parts
In this pack, the quest book only covers the elemental armor for Ars Elemental, across the fire, water (aqua), earth and air elements. Everything after that has no quest in the sources I have, so the order below follows what the in-pack recipes depend on.[2][3]
Elemental armor (the quest path)
The pack's "basic_armor" quest chapter has a quest for each elemental set. Each quest asks you to have the hat, robes, leggings and boots of that element: a quest in "?" for the Pyromancer set, a quest in "?" for the Aquamancer set, a quest in "?" for the Geomancer set and a quest in "?" for the Aethermancer set. The quests have no titles in the pack files, so those ids are all you get.[2]
Every elemental armor piece in the recipe dump uses the Ars Elemental armor upgrade recipe type, and the pack changed all of these recipes from the mod's defaults. The Pyromancer's Hat is shown below as an example. The other slots and elements follow the same pattern with their own element.[3]
Armor Upgrade (ars_elemental)
Mark of Mastery
2× Fire Essence
- any magic hood
- any netherite ingot
Recipe id: ars_elemental:fire_hat
An armor upgrade recipe that the pack changed. The other armor pieces follow the same pattern.
Foci and bangles
After the armor, the next recipes in the dump are the bangles and foci. The Enchanter's Bangle is made at the Enchanting Apparatus, and the pack changed its recipe.[3]

The elemental bangles, such as the Fire Bangle, Earth Bangle and Air Bangle, and the Anima Bangle are all Enchanting Apparatus recipes. These recipes are the mod's own, not pack changes. The Air Bangle is shown as an example.[3]
The Air Bangle recipe, the mod's own.
The full foci, such as Focus of Fire, Focus of Earth and Focus of Air, are Enchanting Apparatus upgrades of the matching lesser focus. They also use a Mark of Mastery, the same item the armor upgrades use.[3]
The mod's own recipe for the full Focus of Fire.
Turrets, bags and utility
Once you have a focus, you can make an elemental turret. The Fire Infused Turret, Earth Infused Turret and Air Infused Turret are imbuement recipes that take the matching focus.[3]
The pack changed the recipe for the Spellcaster Bag, while the Trinkets Pouch keeps the mod's own recipe. The recipe for the Slipstream Current Elevator elevator is also a pack change. The Spellcaster Bag and the elevator are both shown below.[3]
Enchanting Apparatus (ars_nouveau)
Trinkets Pouch
2× Manipulation Essence
2× Blaze Powder

Rituals, glyphs and prism lenses
The recipes in this group are the mod's own, and the sources do not mark them as pack changes. They include rituals such as Detection, Repulsion and Zapping. The Flashing Archwood items belong here too, with the Flashing Archwood Log and the Flashing Archwood Sapling, which has its own crafting recipe. The Detection ritual is shown as an example.[3]

The mod's glyphs have their own recipes too, for example Glyph Conjure Terrain, Glyph Bubble Shield and Glyph Homing Projectile. The same goes for the Advanced Spell Prism and the prism lenses: Acceleration Prism Lens, Deceleration Prism Lens and Chaining Prism Lens. The Advanced Spell Prism is shown below.[3]

How does Ars Elemental work with other mods?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.12 guide
Here's what I can confirm for this pack: the recipe data shows one clear link from Ars Elemental to another mod. The elemental focus upgrades are crafted through the Enchanting Apparatus recipe type from Ars Nouveau, not a normal crafting grid. These are Focus of Cinder, Focus of Lava, Focus of Mire and Focus of Elemancy.[5]
Crafted with the Enchanting Apparatus recipe type.
Enchanting Apparatus (ars_nouveau)
Recipe id: ars_elemancy:elemancer_focus
The top-tier focus is also made with the Enchanting Apparatus recipe type.
Armor and bangle upgrades
The hats, robes, leggings, boots and bangles of the combined schools use a different recipe type, armor_upgrade, in the ars_elemancy namespace. Every one of those recipes needs a Mark of Mastery. All the ingredients in these upgrades come from the ars_elemental and ars_elemancy namespaces, so the pack shows no other mod's items in them.[5]
An example of an armor upgrade recipe in the pack.
Quests
The Basic Armor quest chapter has four outfit quests: a quest in "?", a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?". Each one asks for a hat, robes, leggings and boots of one Ars Elemental school. They only use items from this mod, so they don't connect it to any other mod.[6]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Ars Elemental?
1 part
Ars Elemental appears in the basic_armor quest chapter of this pack. The quests here are all about the elemental armor sets: each quest asks you to hold a full set for a single element, with a hat, robes, leggings and boots.[2]
What each quest asks for
The quests have no titles in the pack files, so they are identified only by their IDs. Each is an item task that asks for the pieces of a single element's set.[2]
- Quest a quest in "?" is the earth set: Geomancer's Hat, Geomancer's Robes, Geomancer's Leggings and Geomancer's Boots.[2]
- Quest a quest in "?" is the aqua set: Aquamancer's Hat, Aquamancer's Robes, Aquamancer's Leggings and Aquamancer's Boots.[2]
- Quest a quest in "?" is the fire set: Pyromancer's Hat, Pyromancer's Robes, Pyromancer's Leggings and Pyromancer's Boots.[2]
- Quest a quest in "?" is the air set: Aethermancer's Hat, Aethermancer's Robes, Aethermancer's Leggings and Aethermancer's Boots.[2]
Since each quest lists all the pieces of its set as tasks, you will want every piece of an element's armor to complete that quest.[2]
What changed in Ars Elemental between versions?
Ars Elemental has been part of All the Mods 10 since version 2.2 or earlier, and 4.5 ships it as version 0.7.5.0.1. The pack changelogs only record version bumps for this mod, so here is how it moved forward release by release.[1]
