What is Ars Elemental?
This pack ships Ars Elemental version 0.7.6.0-pre3 for Minecraft 1.21.1. It is a mod you'll mostly meet through its elemental armor sets, which is what the quest book highlights.[1]
The quest book has a "Basic Armor" chapter with four outfit quests, one for each element. Each quest asks you to get a hat, robes, leggings and boots from the same set.[2]
- "Geomancer Outfit" quest covers the earth set: Geomancer's Hat, Geomancer's Robes, Geomancer's Leggings and Geomancer's Boots.[2]
- "Aquamancer Outfit" quest covers the water set: Aquamancer's Hat, Aquamancer's Robes, Aquamancer's Leggings and Aquamancer's Boots.[2]
- "Pyromancer Outfit" quest covers the fire set: Pyromancer's Hat, Pyromancer's Robes, Pyromancer's Leggings and Pyromancer's Boots.[2]
- "Aethermancer Outfit" quest covers the air set: Aethermancer's Hat, Aethermancer's Robes, Aethermancer's Leggings and Aethermancer's Boots.[2]
The quest chapter is called "Basic Armor", so the pack treats these outfits as an early-to-mid goal for collecting the four elemental sets. The quests list the armor pieces as tasks, but the sources don't say what each set does or how to craft it.[2]
Unverified The sources don't describe the mod's wider features, such as spells or other items beyond the armor, so they aren't covered here. No sign of this mod on the ATM Star quest path was found either.
How do you get started with Ars Elemental?
3 parts
Ars Elemental's items are built from Ars Nouveau materials, such as essences and Ars Nouveau magic armor, so you'll be working with both mods from the start. Here is a sensible order to tackle things in, starting with the bags and moving on to the elemental armor.[3]
Start with the Trinkets Pouch
Make the Trinkets Pouch first. It's a normal crafting-table recipe, and the mod also has an advancement for acquiring one.[3][4]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: ars_elemental:curio_bag
This one is made in a crafting table.
Then the Spellcaster Bag
Next is the Spellcaster Bag. The pack has changed this recipe from the mod's default, so don't trust older guides for it. It's made at an Enchanting Apparatus, not a crafting table, and it builds on the Trinkets Pouch. The mod also has an advancement for acquiring one.[3][4]

Work towards elemental armor
The big early goal is an elemental armor set. The pack's Basic Armor quest chapter has one quest per set, and each one asks for the hat, robes, leggings and boots: "Pyromancer Outfit" quest for fire, "Aquamancer Outfit" quest for water, "Geomancer Outfit" quest for earth and "Aethermancer Outfit" quest for air.[2]
Every piece is made by upgrading a piece of Ars Nouveau magic armor, and every recipe also uses a Mark of Mastery. All the sets follow the same pattern, so here is one piece as an example. The mod's advancement text for the Mark of Mastery says to combine the essences with the tribute.[3][4]
Armor Upgrade (sauce)
Mark of Mastery
2× Earth Essence
Netherite Ingot
- any magic hood
Recipe id: ars_elemental:earth_hat
The other elemental armor pieces are upgrade recipes of the same kind.
Each set has its own bonus, so pick the one that fits what you're doing:[4]
- Pyromancer (fire): absorbs some fire-related damage and converts it into mana, and instantly clears fire.[4]
- Aquamancer (water): absorbs some water-related damage and converts it into mana, and refills your air if you're about to drown.[4]
- Geomancer (earth): absorbs some earth-related damage and converts it into mana, and gives food deep underground if you're about to starve.[4]
- Aethermancer (air): absorbs some air-related damage and converts it into mana, and greatly reduces fall damage.[4]
How does Ars Elemental work?
6 parts
In this pack, the sources show Ars Elemental working through Ars Nouveau's crafting stations, spell glyphs, familiars and rituals. This section covers the mechanics those sources explain.[3][4]
Unverified There is no config file for this mod in the pack and the sources here do not show any tunable values, so none are listed in this section.
Where things get crafted
Ars Elemental items use several crafting methods: the normal crafting grid, Ars Nouveau's imbuement, Ars Nouveau's enchanting apparatus, or a dedicated armor upgrade recipe type.[3]
- Crafting grid: the Advanced Spell Prism, the Trinkets Pouch, the Flashing Archwood wood blocks and the ritual items.[3]
- Imbuement: the Acceleration Prism Lens and the Air Infused Turret.[3]
- Enchanting apparatus: the Air Bangle, the Anima Bangle, the Focus of Air and the Slipstream Current Elevator.[3]
- Armor upgrade recipes: the Aethermancer's armor pieces, such as the Aethermancer's Hat, Aethermancer's Robes, Aethermancer's Leggings and Aethermancer's Boots.[3]

Marks, foci and armor
The in-game advancement for the Mark of Mastery says to combine the essences with the tribute. The Mark is then used in the air focus upgrade and in every Aethermancer's armor upgrade.[3][4]
Foci come in lesser and major grades. You first acquire a lesser focus, such as the Lesser Focus of Air, then upgrade it to the major focus. For air, that upgrade is an enchanting apparatus recipe.[3][4]
Each elemental armor set absorbs some damage of its element and converts it into mana. The air set also greatly reduces fall damage. The aqua set refills your air if you're about to drown. The earth set gives food deep underground if you're about to starve. The fire set instantly clears fire.[4]
Wearing a focus also changes some spells. Launch with Extend Time while you wear an air focus makes a mob levitate. Summon Steed gives you a dolphin with a water focus, a skeleton horse with a necromancy focus, or a strider with a fire focus.[4]
Familiars
You get a familiar by performing the Ritual of Binding near the matching creature. Each one boosts a spell school and can be fed for a short buff.[4]
- Flarecannon: Fire spell damage goes up by 2 and projectile-based spells cost 20% less. Feed it a Magma Cream for a short Fire Resistance buff.[4]
- Flashjack: Lightning spell damage goes up by 2 and movement-based spells cost 20% less. Feed it a Flashpine for a short Speed and Night Vision buff.[4]
- Siren: Water spell damage goes up by 2, and you get Dolphin Grace II while in water.[4]
Glyph behavior worth knowing
Ars Elemental adds spell glyphs that change how a spell travels or resolves. These are the ones the sources describe most clearly.[4]
- Arc projectile: it is affected by gravity, and every Pierce you apply makes it bounce once when it hits the ground.[4]
- Homing projectile: it seeks the nearest entity and acts like a classic projectile if there is no valid target. It only targets players if augmented with Sensitive.[4]
- Propagators: the arc and homing propagators convert the rest of the spell into that projectile type and fire it from where the spell lands.[4]
- Filters: the aerial, aquatic, fiery, insect, summon and undead filters stop the spell from resolving depending on the target. Each also has a "not" version that works the opposite way.[4]
- Life Link: damage you take is shared with the target and healing of the target is shared with you. Sensitive reverses the link's direction and Cut severs it.[4]
- Conjure Terrain: one Amplify places cobblestone and two place cobbled deepslate. Following it with Conjure Water places mud, and following it with Crush places sand.[4]
Archwood and rituals
The Flashing Archwood tree is Ars Elemental's own archwood type. Its sapling is a shapeless recipe that combines the Cascading, Flourishing, Vexing and Blazing Archwood Saplings with Air Essence. The tree gives the Flashing Archwood Log, which several ritual recipes use.[3]

The pack has crafting recipes for these ritual items: Attraction, Detection, Repulsion, Fast Squirrels, Zapping, Conjure Island: Archwood Forest and Forestation - Archwood.[3]
Perks and enchantments
- Shock thread: damaging effects shock the target for a short time before the effect resolves, and it inflicts Static Charged at tier 3.[4]
- Spore thread: damaging effects poison the target or make it hungry for a short time before the effect resolves.[4]
- Summon thread: it reduces Summon Sickness by 10% per tier. From tier 2 it also slightly increases the damage dealt by summoned creatures.[4]
- Mirror Shield: this enchantment only goes on the Enchanter's Shield and gives a 25% chance per level to reflect a spell projectile while you block.[4]
- Soulbound: it keeps the enchanted item from being lost on death.[4]
How do you progress through Ars Elemental?
4 parts
In this pack, the quest book only walks you through the elemental armor of Ars Elemental. The Basic Armor chapter has an outfit quest for each element, and nothing else from the mod gets its own quest. Past the armor, you can use the in-pack recipes below to plan your own order.[2]
Armor tier: the elemental outfits
Each outfit quest has the hat, robes, leggings and boots of one element as its tasks. These are the quests you can follow in the book.[2]
- "Geomancer Outfit" quest is the Earth set: Geomancer's Hat, Geomancer's Robes, Geomancer's Leggings and Geomancer's Boots.[2]
- "Aquamancer Outfit" quest is the Water set: Aquamancer's Hat, Aquamancer's Robes, Aquamancer's Leggings and Aquamancer's Boots.[2]
- "Pyromancer Outfit" quest is the Fire set: Pyromancer's Hat, Pyromancer's Robes, Pyromancer's Leggings and Pyromancer's Boots.[2]
- "Aethermancer Outfit" quest is the Air set: Aethermancer's Hat, Aethermancer's Robes, Aethermancer's Leggings and Aethermancer's Boots.[2]
You don't craft these pieces from scratch. In the pack, every elemental armor piece is an armor upgrade recipe that takes a matching piece of Ars Nouveau magic armor and turns it into the elemental version. Each recipe also uses a Mark of Mastery. The pattern is the same for every element, so here are the Earth and Fire robes as examples.[3]

Foci and infused turrets
A focus is made at the enchanting apparatus by upgrading the matching lesser focus with a Mark of Mastery. The pack has these recipes for Fire, Earth and Air, using Lesser Focus of Fire, Lesser Focus of Earth and Lesser Focus of Air.[3]
Focus of Fire, upgraded from the Lesser Focus of Fire.
A focus is also the base for an infused turret. This is an imbuement recipe built around an Enchanted Spell Turret from Ars Nouveau, and the pack has it for Fire, Earth and Air.[3]
Fire Infused Turret. The Earth and Air turrets use their own focus and essence.
Bangles and utility items
The pack changes the recipes for the Enchanter's Bangle, the Spellcaster Bag and the Slipstream Current Elevator, so don't rely on a recipe you remember from the mod's defaults. The Fire Bangle, Earth Bangle, Air Bangle and Anima Bangle also have their own in-pack recipes.[3]

Other unlocks to work toward
- Prism lenses such as the Arc Prism Lens, Acceleration Prism Lens, Deceleration Prism Lens and Chaining Prism Lens all have in-pack recipes, and so does the Advanced Spell Prism.[3]
- Rituals such as Attraction, Repulsion, Detection, Zapping and Fast Squirrels are crafted as items with in-pack recipes. Keep an eye out for Flashing Archwood Log in the ritual recipes, as in the Detection example.[3]
- New glyphs, including Glyph Conjure Terrain, Glyph Bubble Shield, Glyph Discharge and Glyph Homing Projectile, each have their own glyph recipes in the pack.[3]

How does Ars Elemental work with other mods?
2 parts
Here's what I can confirm for this pack: the recipe data shows one clear link from Ars Elemental to another mod. The elemental focus upgrades are crafted through the Enchanting Apparatus recipe type from Ars Nouveau, not a normal crafting grid. These are Focus of Cinder, Focus of Lava, Focus of Mire and Focus of Elemancy.[3]
Crafted with the Enchanting Apparatus recipe type.

The top-tier focus is also made with the Enchanting Apparatus recipe type.
Armor and bangle upgrades
The hats, robes, leggings, boots and bangles of the combined schools use a different recipe type, armor_upgrade, in the ars_elemancy namespace. Every one of those recipes needs a Mark of Mastery. All the ingredients in these upgrades come from the ars_elemental and ars_elemancy namespaces, so the pack shows no other mod's items in them.[3]

Quests
The Basic Armor quest chapter has four outfit quests: "Pyromancer Outfit" quest, "Geomancer Outfit" quest, "Aquamancer Outfit" quest and "Aethermancer Outfit" quest. Each one asks for a hat, robes, leggings and boots of one Ars Elemental school. They only use items from this mod, so they don't connect it to any other mod.[2]
Which All the Mods 10 quests use Ars Elemental?
1 part
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
In this pack, Ars Elemental appears in the "Basic Armor" quest chapter. The quests there are outfit quests, one for each element, and each one asks you to get the matching elemental armor set from the mod.[5]
The Basic Armor outfit quests
Every quest here has the same shape. The tasks are item tasks, one for each piece of the set: hat, robes, leggings and boots. Here they are in the order the chapter lists them.[5]
- "Geomancer Outfit" quest is the earth set. You need Geomancer's Hat, Geomancer's Robes, Geomancer's Leggings and Geomancer's Boots.[5]
- "Aquamancer Outfit" quest is the water set. You need Aquamancer's Hat, Aquamancer's Robes, Aquamancer's Leggings and Aquamancer's Boots.[5]
- "Pyromancer Outfit" quest is the fire set. You need Pyromancer's Hat, Pyromancer's Robes, Pyromancer's Leggings and Pyromancer's Boots.[5]
- "Aethermancer Outfit" quest is the air set. You need Aethermancer's Hat, Aethermancer's Robes, Aethermancer's Leggings and Aethermancer's Boots.[5]
The quest texts are short. Each one just names the set as Ars Elemental Earth, Water, Fire or Air Armor.[5]
