What is Create: Enchantment Industry?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide

This pack includes Create: Enchantment Industry 2.4.2. It's an add-on for Create that gives you more tools and methods for handling experience and enchanting, so you can automate things you'd normally do by hand.[1][2]

It's for you if you already run Create machinery and want enchanting, repairing and experience handling to be part of your factory instead of a manual chore.[1]

What it adds

  • Liquid Experience: high-density experience that is easy to store and transport.[1]
  • Experience Hatch: lets you interact with a fluid tank directly, using your own experience.[1]
  • Mechanical Grindstone: a fully automated Grindstone with an extra sanding function.[1]
  • Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger: a blaze acting as a smart enchanting table and a smart anvil.[1]
  • Printer: copies written books, enchanted books, name tags, train schedules and more.[1]
  • Experience Lantern: absorbs experience and also works on contraptions.[1]
  • Deployer and Crushing Wheel tweak: their kills drop experience nuggets.[1]
  • Hyper-enchantmechanism lets you break the limits of enchantments.[1]
  • Mending on belt: items with Mending can be repaired using a Spout and Liquid Experience.[1]

Where it fits in the pack

The sources show one quest tied to this mod: "Super Experience Bee" quest in the Productive Bees chapter. It asks you to feed Superenchanting Template to an Experience Bee, and one of its listed tasks is the Block of Super Experience. So the mod links your Create experience setup with bee automation.[3]

Unverified The sources don't place this mod on the ATM Star quest path, and they don't say which of the project page's optional features (such as the Apotheosis integration or the Classic Blaze Enchanter) are active in version 2.4.2 in this pack. Check in game before you plan around them.

How do you get started with Create: Enchantment Industry?

6 parts

This mod adds tools for handling experience and enchanting inside Create. Almost everything runs on Liquid Experience, so your first goal is to get a supply of it and then build the machines that spend it. Here's the order I'd go in.[1]

Step one: Mechanical Grindstone, your Liquid Experience source

Start with the Mechanical Grindstone. It's a fully automated grindstone, and it turns experience items into Liquid Experience. It can also disenchant enchanted items.[1][4][5]

Step two: feed it experience

These are the Liquid Experience sources confirmed in this pack's recipes:[4]

  • Grind a Block of Experience or a Nugget of Experience in the Mechanical Grindstone.[4]
  • Empty an experience bottle with a Create emptying recipe. You get Liquid Experience and an empty glass bottle back.[4]
  • The pack also has its own recipes that turn Mystical Agriculture Experience Droplets (emptying) and Ars Nouveau Experience Gems or Greater Experience Gems (grinding) into Liquid Experience.[4]

Step three: Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger

Next up is the Blaze Enchanter, a smart enchanting table. Feed it Liquid Experience to activate it, and set the enchant level on its panel before you enchant. The in-game ponder notes that a vanilla enchanting table caps at level 30, and that a higher level isn't always better, because some enchantments stop appearing when the level is too high.[5]

Blaze EnchanterMod recipe

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:smithing/blaze_enchanter

This is a smithing upgrade, not a normal crafting recipe.

The Blaze Forger is the matching smart anvil. It's made the same way, with a smithing recipe.[1][4]

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:smithing/blaze_forger

Tip: You can automate the Blaze Enchanter with a Mechanical Arm. The arm can insert items, feed experience fuel, and take out the enchanted item and any invalid item.[5]

Step four: store experience and make templates

The Experience Hatch lets you store your own experience in a fluid tank and take it back out. Both actions have their own advancements.[1][5]

Item Application (create)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:item_application/experience_hatch

An Enchanting Template is made by pressing a Block of Experience. Put an item in the Blaze Enchanter's panel slot to enter Template Enchanting Mode. A blank template given to the enchanter then receives enchantments that suit that item. The Blaze Forger can apply the finished template to an item.[4][5]

Extras worth building early

  • The Printer copies written books, enchanted books, name tags and train schedules, and more.[1]
  • The Experience Lantern absorbs experience and also works on contraptions.[1]

Looking ahead: Super Experience

Once the basics run, look at Block of Super Experience. Pressing it makes a Super Enchanting Template, and the quest "Super Experience Bee" quest in the Productive Bees chapter asks you to feed that template to an Experience Bee.[4][6]

How does Create: Enchantment Industry work?

8 parts

Everything in this mod revolves around Liquid Experience. The mod's project page currently describes it as high-density experience that is easy to store and transport. The Blaze Enchanter and the Blaze Forger are both activated by giving them Liquid Experience.[1][5]

Getting experience in and out

The Experience Hatch lets you interact with a fluid tank directly, using your own experience. The mod's advancements cover both directions: you can store your experience with a hatch, and you can retrieve it again later.[1][5]

Item Application (create)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:item_application/experience_hatch

In this pack the hatch is made by item application.

You can also turn items into Liquid Experience. A Block of Experience grinds into 27× Liquid Experience and a Nugget of Experience into 3×. A Block of Super Experience gives 27× and a Nugget of Super Experience gives 3×. An Ars Nouveau Experience Gem gives 3× and a Greater Experience Gem gives 12×, and the pack changed both of those recipes. Emptying an experience bottle gives 10× and returns the glass bottle. The pack's changed recipe for the Mystical Agriculture Experience Droplet also gives 10×.[4]

Mechanical Grindstone

The mod's project page currently lists the Mechanical Grindstone as a fully automated grindstone with an extra sanding function. The mod's advancements show it disenchanting enchanted items, and there is one for collecting 1,000,000 mB of Liquid Experience from Mechanical Grindstones.[1][5]

Blaze Enchanter

According to the mod's in-game Ponder scenes, the Blaze Enchanter works like an Enchanting Table. Give it Liquid Experience to activate it. Before you enchant, set the enchant level on its panel. The level cap of a vanilla enchanting table is 30.[5]

Blaze EnchanterMod recipe

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:smithing/blaze_enchanter

The Ponder scenes explain that the panel is also a filter slot. Right click it with an item to designate that item as a template, which puts the machine in Template Enchanting Mode. In that mode it only generates enchantments the template item supports. For example, diamond chest armor in the slot means only diamond chest armor enchantments are generated. Give it a blank Enchanting Template and those enchantments will be added to it.[5]

The Ponder scenes also note that materials and item types matter. Golden chest armor has better enchantability than diamond chest armor, so it produces relatively better enchantments. A higher Enchanting Level is not always better either, because some enchantments will not appear when the level is too high.[5]

Pressing (create)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:pressing/enchanting_template

In this pack a Block of Experience is pressed into a blank Enchanting Template.

Tip: You can automate the Blaze Enchanter with a Mechanical Arm. The arm can insert the item to enchant, feed it experience fuel, and extract both the enchanted item and an invalid item.[5]

Super Enchanting

The Blaze Enchanter has two "stomachs". Feed it a Cake o' Enchanting and it starts seething, which is Super Enchanting mode. The second tank can't be filled by pipe. It needs an eligible Super Experience item, such as the cake.[5]

In Super Enchanting mode the enchant level cap is significantly increased and the machine can produce Treasure Enchantments. It exclusively processes Super Enchanting Template items.[5]

Pressing (create)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:pressing/super_enchanting_template

In this pack a Block of Super Experience is pressed into a Super Enchanting Template.

Watch out: Super Enchanting can cause lightning strikes, so place a Lightning Rod nearby. You can cover the Blaze Enchanter with a block to avoid the strikes, but then a curse may appear.[5]

Making the cake

The cake is made in stages. First you make the base with Create's compacting, and the pack changed that recipe. Then you fill the base with 1,000× Liquid Experience using Create's filling. You can cut the finished cake into 4 slices with Create's cutting. The Farmer's Delight cutting recipe, which uses a knife and which the pack also changed, gives a Cake Slice o' Enchanting too.[4]

Nugget of Super Experience and Block of Super Experience convert into each other by crafting. One block gives 9 nuggets.[4]

Blaze Forger

The Blaze Forger works like an Anvil and also needs Liquid Experience to activate. It merges enchantments on the same item like an anvil, but with no Repair Cost. It can also merge Enchanting Templates, and most importantly it can apply Enchanting Templates to items. It can also strip the enchantments from equipment, a book or a template onto a blank Enchanting Template.[5]

Like the Enchanter, the Forger can be automated with a Mechanical Arm. The arm inserts the item for forging, feeds experience fuel and extracts the forged item.[5]

Printer

The mod's project page currently lists the Printer as copying written books, enchanted books, name tags, train schedules and more. The mod's advancements also show it changing a package's pattern or address and renaming an item.[1][5]

Not every book can be copied. The Printer tells you if a book has no copiable enchantments, contains an uncopiable enchantment, or has no contents to copy.[5]

The mod's project page lists a few more tweaks. Kills by a Deployer or Crushing Wheel drop an experience nugget, items enchanted with Mending can be repaired on a belt with a Spout and Liquid Experience, and a Deployer benefits from a sword with Sweeping Edge.[1]

How do you progress through Create: Enchantment Industry?

4 parts

Here's the honest picture: the only quest in this pack tied to Create: Enchantment Industry is "Super Experience Bee" quest, in the Productive Bees chapter. So there's no long quest ladder to follow. The steps below are a suggested order built from the in-pack recipes, not an official tier list.[4][6]

First step: get Liquid Experience flowing

Start by getting a supply of Liquid Experience. You can craft a Mechanical Grindstone to work with the mod's grinding recipes, which turn Create's experience blocks and nuggets into Liquid Experience. The Super Experience block and nugget can be ground the same way.[4]

Crafting Shaped

The pack adds extra experience sources. Mystical Agriculture experience droplets can be emptied into Liquid Experience, and Ars Nouveau's experience gems and greater experience gems can be ground into it. All of these recipes are marked as changed by the pack. Plain experience bottles can also be emptied into Liquid Experience.[4]

Second step: printer, templates and cakes

Next up is the Printer. You can also press a Block of Experience into an Enchanting Template.[4]

The cake line is a Liquid Experience project. You fill a Cake Base o' Enchanting to get a Cake o' Enchanting, then cut it into slices. The pack changes the cake base recipe and the Farmer's Delight slicing recipe from the mod's defaults.[4]

Third step: blaze upgrades and hatches

The Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger are both smithing upgrades of a Blaze Burner. Each one needs a smithing template from Create: Dragons Plus, so plan for that mod. The Experience Hatch also needs a Fluid Hatch from Create: Dragons Plus.[4]

Final step: Super Experience

The end of the line is Super Experience. A Block of Super Experience and a Nugget of Super Experience convert into each other by crafting, and the block can be pressed into a Super Enchanting Template.[4]

This is where the quest comes in. "Super Experience Bee" quest asks you to feed a Superenchanting Template to an Experience Bee. Its tasks are to hand in a Productive Bees item (a configurable honeycomb or comb, a spawn egg, or a bee cage) and a Block of Super Experience. It unlocks after another quest in the same chapter.[6]

The pack also changes a Productive Bees mixing recipe that produces a Super Experience Nugget, so there is a pack-specific route into this tier through the bees.[4]

How does Create: Enchantment Industry work with other mods?

4 parts

Most of what this mod connects to is Create itself, plus Create: Dragons Plus, which the mod needs to run. Beyond those, the pack ties Liquid Experience into a few other mods, so you can get it from items you may already be producing.[1][4]

Create: Dragons Plus

Several of this mod's machines depend on Create: Dragons Plus. The recipes below show how the Blaze Enchanter, the Blaze Forger and the Experience Hatch are made, using items from that mod such as the Smithing Template and the Fluid Hatch.[4]

Other sources of Liquid Experience

Ars Nouveau gems can be ground into Liquid Experience. Both the Experience Gem and the Greater Experience Gem have grinding recipes that the pack changed from the mod's defaults.[4]

Mystical Agriculture works too. The Experience Droplet can be emptied into Liquid Experience with a Create emptying recipe, which the pack also changed.[4]

Tip: The sources I have don't show the fluid amounts for these pack-changed recipes. Check the recipe viewer in game for the exact numbers before you build a setup around them.[4]

Productive Bees

The pack changed a Productive Bees conversion so that the Super Enchanting Template turns an Experience Bee into a Super Experience Bee. The quest "Super Experience Bee" quest in the Productive Bees chapter covers this. Its tasks include handing in a Block of Super Experience.[4][6]

Integrated Dynamics

The pack adds Integrated Dynamics recipes for both the Drying Basin and the Mechanical Drying Basin. Both take a Block of Experience and Liquid Experience as inputs.[4]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Create: Enchantment Industry?

1 part

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide

In this pack, this mod shows up in the Productive Bees quest chapter, through the quest "Super Experience Bee" quest. It ties Create: Enchantment Industry into bee breeding, which is a fun crossover.[3]

Super Experience Bee

The quest "Super Experience Bee" quest asks you to feed Superenchanting Template to an Experience Bee.[3]

Its tasks are item checks. The first accepts any of these Productive Bees items: Honeycomb, Comb Block, Spawn Egg Configurable Bee, Bee Cage or Sturdy Bee Cage. The other task is the Block of Super Experience.[3]

For order, this quest comes after quest a quest in "Productive Bees" in the same chapter, so finish that one first.[3]

Which Create: Enchantment Industry config options matter?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.47 guide

There isn't much config detail to share for this mod yet. The project page describes the mod's features but doesn't list its config options, their defaults, or how to change them.[1]

One thing worth knowing: the page calls the Classic Blaze Enchanter, the old Blaze Enchanter from v1.0, an optional feature. That suggests it's something you can switch on or off rather than something that's always there.[1]

Unverified We couldn't check how this pack sets any of this mod's config options, including whether the Classic Blaze Enchanter is enabled or whether any values differ from the mod's defaults. The pack's config files for this mod weren't available to review.

What changed in Create: Enchantment Industry between versions?

4 parts

All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.0 ships Create: Enchantment Industry 2.3.0, and the mod has been in the pack since version 1.0 or earlier. I found no pack changelog entries for it, so everything below comes from the mod's own release notes.[7]

2.3.0 (the version in this pack)

  • Updated for Create 6.0.9, and added compat for Touhou Little Maid.[8]
  • Fixed a glitchy animation, unlocalized text on the attribute filter, and a crash when rotating the Blaze Enchanter.[8]
  • Fixed EXP not being required during forging in certain situations, and fixed breaking Printers destroying any EXP inside.[8]
  • Fixed the Sweeping Edge enchantment on a deployer doing extremely low damage to non-main targets.[8]

2.2.x releases

  • 2.2.5b: fixed a crashing EXP item that gave no EXP liquid.[9]
  • 2.2.3: added a compacting recipe for infested stone and a crushing recipe for infested cobblestone, and fixed the spout using too much EXP when mending. This release required Create: Dragon Plus 1.8.1.[10]
  • 2.2.2b: updated the French translation.[11]
  • 2.2.2: added the "can be processed by Mechanical Grindstone" item attribute, fixed the Grindstone Drain not processing recipes that contain no EXP, and added a Brazilian Portuguese translation.[12]

2.2.0

This was a big update. The Printer can now print banner patterns, there is a new config for Grindstone Drain capacity, and support was added for the XP fluid from Just Dire Things. Pick-blocking a Grindstone Drain now gives you the Item Drain.[13]

It also came with a long list of fixes:[13]

  • A network packet crash related to ExperienceFuel.[13]
  • Wrong lightning strike positions that stopped lightning rods from producing redstone signals.[13]
  • The Schematicannon sometimes producing Printers with illegal components.[13]
  • The Mechanical Grindstone crashing the server when a grinding recipe produced no EXP.[13]
  • The Printer saying "Incorrect Liquid" when the ink was valid, using only one unit of ink when naming multiple items, and spamming when naming.[13]
  • Spout mending repairs not consuming EXP.[13]

2.1.7

Fixed a JEI plugin load issue.[14]
