What is Mystical Agriculture?

2 parts

Mystical Agriculture is all about growing your resources instead of digging for them. You plant crops that produce essences, then turn those essences into materials, mob drops, tools, armor and more. This pack runs version 8.0.28 of the mod.[1][2]

How it fits in this pack

Watch out: Don't expect to grow every ore here. The pack removed most resource seeds to make room for Flux Sieves from ExDeorum and for the GeOres mod, which uses Growth Accelerator tiers.[3]

The mod's standard getting-started advice is to mine Prosperity ore. In this pack, you get Prosperity Shard by sifting Soul Sand with an Iron Sieve or better. These shards are a core crafting ingredient, and you need them for the Prosperity Seed Base that resource crops are built from.[1][3]

Your progression runs through essence tiers. Inferium Essence is the base tier, and you can get it from mining, killing mobs or growing seeds. With an Infusion Crystal you upgrade it tier by tier through Prudentium, Tertium and Imperium, up to Supremium Essence.[3]

Those essences power the rest of the mod. Essence armor and tools start at Inferium, can be upgraded to higher tiers, and can take augments at the Tinkering Table. You also get Growth Accelerators such as the Inferium Growth Accelerator, plus handy blocks like the Soulium Spawner, Enchanter and Harvester. On top of that there's Mystical Fertilizer, which instantly grows a crop to full maturity.[3]

ATM Star path

The ATM Star path runs straight through this mod's quest chapter. It starts at "Inferium" quest and asks you to get each essence tier in turn: "Prudentium" quest, "Tertium" quest, "Imperium" quest and finally "Supremium" quest. Plan on building up a full essence upgrade chain.[3]

Unverified The sources don't show what Supremium Essence is used for later on the ATM Star path.

How do you get started with Mystical Agriculture?

6 parts

Mystical Agriculture is all about growing your resources instead of mining them, so the whole mod chain starts with two things: Prosperity Shards and Inferium Essence. Get those flowing and everything else in the chapter opens up.[1][3]

Watch out: Read the Warning quest first: this pack removed most of the resource seeds to make room for Flux Sieves from Ex Deorum and the GeOres mod with Growth Accelerator tiers. Don't plan a build around a crop until you've checked it still exists here.[3]

Step one: Prosperity Shards

Prosperity Shards are the core crafting ingredient of the mod, and in this pack you get them by sieving soul sand with an iron mesh or better. Set up a sieve early and let it run while you do everything else; see "Prosperity Shards" quest.[3][4]

Golden, diamond and netherite meshes work too.

Step two: Inferium Essence

Inferium Essence is the base tier of every essence in the mod. You can get it from mining, from killing mobs, or by making seeds and growing it yourself, which is what you want long term. "Inferium" quest covers it.[3]

Step three: Seed Base, Infusion Altar and Wand

  1. Craft Prosperity Seed Base from your shards. You need seed bases for every resource crop you make ("Prosperity Seed Base" quest).[3]
  2. Build the Infusion Altar and its Infusion Pedestal blocks. Place the altar down first and it shows you exactly where the pedestals go ("Infusion Altar" quest).[1][3]
  3. Feed the altar a redstone signal to start infusing, or make a Wand and right-click the altar to kick off the process ("Wand" quest).[3]

Step four: Inferium Seeds and farmland

Your first infusion should be Inferium Seeds so you have a renewable essence source. Essence Farmland isn't required to grow them, but Inferium Farmland increases growth speed, and some seeds later on demand a specific farmland tier. That's "Inferium Farmland" quest.[3]

You can craft Essence Farmland, or just right-click vanilla farmland in-world to convert it.[1]

Step five: speed the farm up

Step six: climb the essence tiers

Once Inferium is piling up, an Infusion Crystal lets you combine four essences of one tier into the next one up, starting with Prudentium Essence in "Prudentium" quest and continuing through Tertium, Imperium and Supremium.[1][3]

Tip: Two early quality-of-life machines: Seed Reprocessor turns spare essence seeds back into essence, and Furnace is an upgraded vanilla furnace that can be upgraded for more speed and efficiency. Its recipe was changed by the pack, so check it in-game.[3][4]

How does Mystical Agriculture work?

7 parts

Mystical Agriculture is built around one loop: grow essences with resource crops, then feed those essences into altars and machines to make seeds, materials, gear and mob drops. The two altars are multiblocks you build in the world, and everything else is single-block machines that sit next to your farm.[1]

The Infusion Altar

Seeds are made on an Infusion Altar surrounded by Infusion Pedestals. Place the altar down and it shows you exactly where the pedestals go, so you don't have to count blocks. Normal resource seeds want some of their respective resource plus the tier essence of the seed, while mob seeds want Soul Jars of the matching mob type.[1]

Watch out: This pack turns off General.seedCraftingRecipes, so there are no generated vanilla crafting-table recipes for seeds. The altar is the route you're meant to take.[5]

Essence tiers and Infusion Crystals

Moving essence up a tier takes an Infusion Crystal, and General.infusionCrystalUses is set to 1,000 uses in this pack. Each step is a crafting recipe that combines the lower essence with a crystal of the matching tier.[1][4][5]

The Master Infusion Crystal is the end of that chain, and the pack has changed its recipe from the mod default, so check the recipe below rather than any older guide you've seen.[4]

The Awakening Altar

Awakened Supremium Essence is the high-tier crafting material used to make upgraded versions of your Supremium items, and it's normally made by infusing Cognizant Dust with a Supremium Block on an Awakening Altar ringed by Awakening Pedestal blocks.[6]

Watch out: General.fakePlayerWatering is false, so fake players can't use watering cans. Any automation that acts as a fake player won't be able to water your field for you; plan around accelerators instead.[5]

Machines and automation

  • The Harvester clears fields automatically if you'd rather not run around with a Scythe or Sickle.[1]
  • Upgradable Essence Furnaces process resources more efficiently, and the Seed Reprocessor gets more out of your spare seeds.[1]
  • The Enchanter spends leftover resource essences on enchanting tools, armor or books, and the Soulium Spawner spends mob essences to spawn mobs.[1]
  • Machine blocks list an operation speed in ticks in their tooltip, and machine upgrades such as the Supremium Machine Upgrade and the Awakened Machine Supremium Upgrade show a speed multiplier instead.[6]
  • Some of the mod's blocks are triggered with a Wand or a Redstone signal, which is your hook for turning them on and off from a control system.[6]

Unverified The available sources don't say whether these machines need FE or any other energy or fluid input in this pack, so check the machine's GUI in game before you build a power run to it.

Drops, souls and side products

  • General.inferiumDropChance is 0.2 in this pack, so passive and hostile mobs have that chance to drop Inferium Essence when killed. That's a solid early trickle alongside your first farm.[1][5]
  • General.fertilizedEssenceChance is 0.1, the chance that harvesting a resource crop drops a Fertilized Essence.[5]
  • General.secondarySeedDrops is enabled, so crops can drop a second seed when harvested; pair that with the Seed Reprocessor.[1][5]
  • To collect souls for mob seeds, keep Soul Jars in your inventory and kill mobs with a Soulium Dagger. The hostile dagger grants additional souls from hostile creatures and the passive one from peaceful creatures, and the Soul Siphoner enchantment increases souls collected by 10 percent per level.[1][6]

Gear hooks

Tools and armor are made from the Inferium to Supremium essences using Essence Ingots, and they're upgraded with Augments. This pack leaves General.enchantableSupremiumTools on, so Supremium and Awakened Supremium tools work in an Enchanting Table, but General.unbreakableSupremiumArmor is off, so that armor still takes durability damage.[1][5]

On the world side, Inferium Ore, Prosperity Ore and Soulstone generation are all left enabled in the config, and World.souliumOreChance sits at 0.05 for a Soulium Ore spawning inside a Soulstone cluster.[5]

How do you progress through Mystical Agriculture?

6 parts

Mystical Agriculture in this pack is a ladder: you start with Inferium Essence and keep infusing four of one tier into one of the next. Inferium is the base tier, and you can get it from mining, killing mobs, or by growing Inferium Seeds. To climb past it you'll need an Infusion Crystal.[3]

Step zero: Prosperity

Prosperity Shards are the core crafting ingredient for the whole mod, and in this pack you get them by sifting Soul Sand with an Iron Sieve or better. From there you make Prosperity Seed Bases, which every resource crop is built on.[3][4]

Prosperity ShardAdded by the pack

Sieve (exdeorum)

Diamond and Netherite meshes work too.

Once you have seed bases, set up the Infusion Altar with its Infusion Pedestals. Place the altar first and it will show you where the pedestals go, and remember it needs a redstone signal to start infusing. A Wand also works: right-click the altar with it to kick off the process.[3]

The essence tiers

  1. Tier 1: Inferium Essence, your starting essence.[3]
  2. Tier 2: Prudentium Essence, made from 4 Inferium plus an Infusion Crystal.[3]
  3. Tier 3: Tertium Essence, made from 4 Prudentium plus an Infusion Crystal.[3]
  4. Tier 4: Imperium Essence, made from 4 Tertium plus an Infusion Crystal.[3]
  5. Tier 5: Supremium Essence, made from 4 Imperium plus an Infusion Crystal.[3]
  6. Tier 5 Awakened: Awakened Supremium Essence, made in the Awakening Altar from 4 Cognizant Dust, 10 of each Elemental Essence and 1 Supremium Block.[3]
Tip: In this pack the upgrade recipes use tiered infusion crystals: each step wants a crystal matching the essence you're feeding in, so an Inferium-tier crystal for Prudentium, a Prudentium-tier crystal for Tertium, and so on.[4]

The Tertium and Imperium steps follow the same pattern.

Farmland and seed tiers

Each essence tier also unlocks a matching Essence Farmland: Inferium, Prudentium, Tertium, Imperium and Supremium. Farmland isn't required to grow seeds, but it increases growth speed (especially for Inferium Seeds), and some seeds require a specific farmland to be planted on.[3]

  • Tier 1 seeds come right after Inferium Farmland and the altar: air, water, fire, earth, stone, deepslate, dirt, ice and wood.[3]
  • Tier 2 seeds split into plant-style seeds gated behind Prudentium Farmland (nature, dye, honey, coral, nether, limestone) and mob seeds gated behind the Creating Mob Seeds step (slime, fish, squid, sheep, chicken, cow).[3]
  • Tier 3 seeds follow Tertium: skeleton, spider, creeper and rabbit.[3]
  • Tier 4 seeds follow Imperium: blaze, enderman, ghast, breeze and experience, plus soulium seeds once you have Imperium Farmland.[3]
  • Tier 5 brings wither skeleton seeds after Supremium, and tier 6 seeds like awakened draconium and dragon egg sit behind Insanium Farmland.[3]

Mob seeds need a detour: grab Soulium, make a Soulium Dagger and Soul Jars, then either kill mobs with the dagger or fill jars in the Soul Extractor using mob drops. Those souls go into the Infusion Altar with a Soulium Seed Base.[3]

Gear tiers

Essence gear follows the same ladder. You start with Inferium armor and tools, then upgrade each piece into the next tier using that tier's ingot and gemstone, so a Tertium helmet becomes an Imperium helmet rather than being crafted from scratch. All of it can be augmented at the Tinkering Table.[3][4]

The Awakening

Supremium is not the end. To awaken it you build a new Awakening Altar, four Awakening Pedestals and four Essence Vessels, which you fill with the starter Elemental Essences: Fire, Water, Earth and Air. You also need Cognizant Dust, which drops from the Wither and the Ender Dragon when they're killed with an Essence Weapon enchanted with Mystical Enlightenment.[3]

With Awakened Supremium you can awaken your Supremium gear in that same altar, and craft an Awakened Supremium Ingot Block, which the pack needs for its star crafting item.[3][4]

Armour and the other tools awaken the same way.

Growth Accelerators

Growth Accelerators go directly underneath farmland and slightly speed up growth. Every tier gives the same rate of growth ticks; higher tiers just reach further up, so you can stack more of them under a single plant. Use whatever tier you like as long as the accelerator sits inside its range.[3]

Unverified The quest description text also calls the Inferium range 12 blocks, which contradicts the 9 listed on the quest itself; test in-game before you build a tall accelerator stack.

Watch out: Most resource seeds were removed in this pack to make room for Flux Sieves and GeOres with Growth Accelerator tiers, so don't plan your ore production around the mod's full seed list.[3]

How does Mystical Agriculture work with other mods?

5 parts

Mystical Agriculture touches a lot of the pack. Some of it is the mod's own add-ons, but the pack also rewires several recipes so that other mods feed into it and out of it. Here are the connections that actually exist in this version.[4]

Ex Deorum sieves

This is the big one for a skyblock start: the pack adds sieve recipes so Ex Deorum meshes produce the two materials everything else is built on, Prosperity Shard and Soulium Dust. The iron, golden, diamond and netherite meshes all have a Prosperity Shard result, while Soulium Dust comes from the diamond and netherite meshes.[4]

Watch out: The quest chapter warns that most resource seeds were removed to make room for Flux Sieves from Ex Deorum and the GeOres mod with Growth Accelerator tiers, so plan on sieving for a lot of materials instead of growing them.[3]

Tiered infusion crystals

Instead of a single reusable crystal, this pack uses the tiered crystal add-on: there is one crystal per essence tier, from Inferium Crystal up through Supremium Crystal, each one built from the tier below it. The pack changed the Inferium Crystal recipe and the Master Infusion Crystal recipe, and it also changed the recipe that turns Supremium into Insanium Essence.[4]

Mystical Agradditions

The classic companion mod is here and supplies the top end of the progression: Insanium Block and Insanium Essence, the essence apples, the essence coals and the paxels for every tier. The pack changed the paxel and coal recipes, so check them in-game rather than relying on memory from other packs.[4]

It also converts high-tier essences into boss and end-game materials: Nether Star Shard, Dragon Egg Chunk and, for Draconic Evolution, Awakened Draconium Nugget. All three of those essence conversions were changed by the pack.[4]

Productive Bees

  • Bee conversion: a Prosperity Block converts a bee into a prosperity bee, and a Soulium Dagger converts one into a soulium bee.[4]
  • Centrifuging the mod's honeycombs gives essences plus Wax, covering Inferium, Prudentium, Tertium, Imperium, Supremium, Awakened Supremium, Prosperity Shards and Soulium Dust.[4]
  • Two bees are made at your altars instead: the imperium bee is an Infusion Altar recipe and the awakened supremium bee is an Awakening Altar recipe.[4]

Create, Dyenamics and other odds and ends

Limestone Essence crafts into Create's Limestone, and Create: Enchantment Industry lets you empty an Experience Droplet into Liquid Experience, both recipes were changed by the pack.[4]

Emptying (create)

Dyenamics hooks into the dye crop: dye essence crafts into all of the mod's extra dyes, and water essence turns their concrete powders into concrete. The pack changed those recipes and added its own Lavender Dye recipe on top.[4]

Two smaller links round it out. Soulium dust from Neovitae smelts or blasts into Mystical Agriculture's Soulium Dust, both recipes added by the pack, and the pack changed the recipe for the Patchouli Guide Book so that a little Inferium gets you the in-game manual.[4]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Mystical Agriculture?

6 parts

Most of this mod's questing lives in the Mystical Agriculture chapter, which is a branching tree. It runs from your first essence up to the Awakened tier, with seeds, gear and machines hanging off each step. A few other chapters touch the mod too, and I cover those at the end.[3]

Watch out: Read "Warning" quest first. In this pack most Resource Seeds were removed to make way for Flux Sieves (ExDeorum) and the GeOres mod with Growth Accelerator tiers. Don't expect the full list of resource seeds you may know from other packs.[3]

The essence ladder

The main path is a chain of essence quests, each unlocked by the one before it. Nearly everything else in the chapter hangs off one of these.[3]

  1. "Inferium" quest (Tier 1) asks for Inferium Essence. It is the starting point for everything.[3]
  2. "Prudentium" quest (Tier 2) asks for Prudentium Essence.[3]
  3. "Tertium" quest (Tier 3) asks for Tertium Essence.[3]
  4. "Imperium" quest (Tier 4) asks for Imperium Essence.[3]
  5. "Supremium" quest (Tier 5) asks for Supremium Essence. The quest text calls it a Tier 4 essence, but the quest header says Tier 5.[3]
  6. "Awakened Supremium" quest (Tier 5 - Awakened) asks for Awakened Supremium Essence. It unlocks after "The Awakening" quest and "Cognizant Dust" quest.[3]

Early quests and machines

Several quests unlock right after the chapter's intro quest. These include "Mystical Fertilizer" quest, which works like Bonemeal but grows a crop instantly to full maturity. They also cover the Watering Can, Enchanter, Seed Reprocessor (turns seeds back into essence), Soul Extractor and Soulium Spawner.[3]

"Prosperity Shards" quest asks for Prosperity Shard, which you get by sifting Soul Sand with an Iron Sieve or higher. "Prosperity Seed Base" quest follows, and "Infusion Altar" quest comes after that. The Infusion Altar needs a Redstone signal to start infusing, and the Wand quest ("Wand" quest) shows you how to activate it. The ""Furnace"" quest quest and the Machine Upgrades quest a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" also open up after the shards.[3]

Seeds, tier by tier

Seed quests only unlock once you have the Infusion Altar and the matching tier of farmland or essence. For mob seeds you also need "Creating Mob Seeds" quest, which asks for a Soulium Dagger, Soul Jar, Soul Extractor and Soulium Seed Base.[3]

Gear, farmland and accelerators

Each essence tier opens its own Tools and Armor quests, such as "Inferium Tools" quest and "Inferium Armor" quest. The Awakened tier has its own armor quest, "Awakened Supremium Armor" quest. Farmland quests run from Inferium to Supremium, for example "Supremium Farmland" quest. Growth Accelerator quests list a range per tier: 9, 18, 27, 36, 45 and 54 blocks, from "Inferium Growth Accelerator" quest up to "Awakened Supremium Growth Accelerator" quest.[3]

Once you have Inferium gear, "Unattuned Augment" quest unlocks, and then a quest in "Mystical Agriculture" for adding augments to your essence gear.[3]

Unverified The Inferium Growth Accelerator quest header says a range of 9 blocks, but its description says Inferium has the lowest range at 12. The sources don't say which is correct.

The Awakening and the ATM Star

After Supremium, "Cognizant Dust" quest asks for Cognizant Dust, which drops from the Wither and the Ender Dragon when an Essence Weapon enchanted with Mystical Enlightenment kills them. "The Awakening" quest asks for the Awakening Altar, Awakening Pedestal and Essence Vessel. The vessels are filled with the starter Element Essences: Fire, Water, Earth and Air. Finishing "Awakened Supremium" quest then opens up a quest for Awakened Supremium Ingot Block, which is needed to craft the ATM Star.[3]

Other chapters that use this mod

Unverified The Basic Armor and Chapter 2: The Cool Parts quest lists were cut off in the sources, so what they ask for isn't confirmed here. The Basic Armor chapter does have an Inferium Armor quest.

Which Mystical Agriculture config options matter?

4 parts

All of these options live in config/mysticalagriculture-common.toml. Every number here matches the mod default, so the pack hasn't changed any of the values that list one. The file doesn't show mod defaults for the on/off toggles, so I can tell you how the pack sets them but not whether it flipped any of them.[5]
