What is Create: Dragons Plus?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Create: Dragons Plus is a Create addon that adds convenient features for players, plus dev utilities for other Create addon authors. As a player, you'll mostly care about the first part: it gives your Encased Fans new jobs and makes tank handling easier.[1]

This pack ships version 1.11.7b, and the mod has been in the pack since 2.47 or earlier.[2]

What it adds

  • Bulk Coloring: use Dye Fluids with an Encased Fan to dye items. It supports most crafting recipes that use dyes.[1]
  • Bulk Freezing: use Powder Snow with an Encased Fan to freeze items.[1]
  • Bulk Ending: use a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath (fluid) with an Encased Fan to infuse items with energy from The End.[1]
  • Bulk Sanding: use Quicksand with an Encased Fan to polish items. It supports all Sand Paper polishing recipes. Since version 1.8.5, Quicksand is no longer required if the Bulk Sanding block tag contains any block.[1]
  • Fluid Hatch: works like the Item Hatch, but gives you convenient take and deposit operations on Fluid Tanks.[1]

Who it's for

If you already run Create and want to process items in bulk with fans instead of one at a time, this mod is for you. It's also handy if you want simpler fluid tank access.[1]

The mod also has optional integrations with other mods, such as Create: Simulated, Create: Granished, Create: Dreams & Desires, The Aether, Dye Depot, Dyenamics, Arts & Crafts and Ars Nouveau. Each one only matters if that mod is installed. Its features can be enabled or disabled, unless a dependent mod forces them on or off.[1]

Unverified The sources don't show any quests for this mod, any role on the ATM Star path, or an in-game guidebook. They also don't confirm which of the integration mods are in this pack, or whether the pack changed any of the mod's configs or recipes.

How do you get started with Create: Dragons Plus?

5 parts

Create: Dragons Plus is a Create addon built around Encased Fan processing and handy fluid tools. Its features are Bulk Coloring, Bulk Freezing, Bulk Ending, Bulk Sanding and the Fluid Hatch. This pack changes the recipes below, so follow the recipe blocks here rather than the mod's defaults.[1][3]

Step one: craft a Fluid Hatch

Start with the Fluid Hatch. It makes a fluid tank easy to use with fluid containers. The pack changes this recipe.[3][4]

Fluid HatchChanged by the pack

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/fluid_hatch

This is the in-pack recipe for the Fluid Hatch.

The hatch works on the tank it is placed on, and it behaves differently depending on how you click it:[4]

  • Right-click: it deposits fluid from your held item into the tank. If the held item can't be emptied, it fills the item from the tank instead.[4]
  • Sneak right-click: it fills your held fluid container from the tank first. If that isn't possible, it deposits the contained fluid into the tank.[4]

Step two: turn dyes into dye fluid

Bulk Coloring needs liquid dye. Each dye fluid has its own mixing recipe, and the pack changes all of them. You mix 250 of water with a matching dye item to get 250 of the dye fluid. Here is red as an example, and the other colours follow the same pattern.[3]

250× Red DyeChanged by the pack

Mixing (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/red_dye_from_item

The other colours use the same pattern in this pack.

The Dyenamics colours have their own mixing recipes too, such as Dyenamics Amber Dye and Dyenamics Navy Dye.[3]

Step three: set up Bulk Coloring

Once you have dye fluid, run an air flow from an Encased Fan through it to create a Coloring setup. Like Bulk Blasting and Bulk Smoking, it works automatically with certain crafting recipes that use dyes. The air flow can also change the color of entities, and equipped armor gets colored too.[1][4]

Step four: get Dragon's Breath for Bulk Ending

Bulk Ending uses a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath fluid with an Encased Fan to infuse items with energy from The End. In this pack you can get the fluid by emptying the Dragon's Breath item. You get 250 of the fluid and a glass bottle back. The pack changes this recipe.[1][3]

Also changed by the pack

The pack also changes the crafting recipe for the Smithing Template, which makes 2 templates per craft.[3]

How does Create: Dragons Plus work?

5 parts

Most of what this mod adds works the same way: you point an Encased Fan's air flow through a catalyst, and the air then processes the items (and sometimes mobs) it passes over. The catalyst is a fluid or a block, and each one gives you a different kind of bulk processing. On top of that you get a Fluid Hatch for tanks and a few extras that only appear when other Create addons are around.[1][4]

Tip: The mod says every one of its features can be enabled or disabled, unless a dependent mod forces it on or off. If a setup behaves differently from what you read here, that is the first thing to suspect. The sources here do not show the mod's config, so I can't tell you which switches exist.[1]

Bulk Coloring and Liquid Dye

Air flows passing through Liquid Dye create a Coloring setup. Like Bulk Blasting and Bulk Smoking, it is automatically compatible with certain crafting recipes that use dyes, so you don't need special recipes for most things. The air can also change the color of entities, and equipped armor gets colored too.[1][4]

You make Liquid Dye by mixing dye with water. In this pack the mixing recipes are marked as changed, and the one for Black Dye turns 250 water plus a black dye item into 250 of the fluid. The other colors follow the same pattern. The family of dye mixing recipes in the pack has 34 recipes, including the vanilla colors and the Dyenamics colors.[3]

250× Black DyeChanged by the pack

Mixing (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/black_dye_from_item

Black is the example here, the other dye colors use the same pattern with 250 water.

Heated mixing can recover the dye item from the fluid again. Items and living entities that touch Liquid Dye are colored, and if Liquid Dye meets lava it forms the matching concrete. Liquid Dye and Bulk Coloring also support dyes from Dye Depot, Dyenamics and the Bleachdew from Arts & Crafts.[1][4]

Bulk Freezing, Ending and Sanding

  • Bulk Freezing: air flows passing through Powder Snow create a Freezing setup.[1][4]
  • Bulk Ending: air flows passing through a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath create an Ending setup, which infuses items with energy from The End.[1][4]
  • Bulk Sanding: air flows passing through Bulk Sanding catalysts, with Quicksand as the example, create a Sanding setup. It is automatically compatible with Sand Paper sanding recipes. According to the mod page, from version 1.8.5 on, any block in the Bulk Sanding block tag activates it, so Quicksand is no longer required.[1][4]

Dragon's Breath as a fluid

Dragon's Breath exists as a fluid, and it supports cauldron behaviour. When flowing Dragon's Breath meets lava, it forms End Stone. In this pack, emptying a Dragon's Breath bottle gives you 250 of the fluid and returns the glass bottle. That recipe is marked as changed by the pack.[3][4]

Emptying (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath

The mod page also says the Containment Jar from Ars Nouveau produces Dragon's Breath.[1]

Fluid Hatch

The Fluid Hatch is placed on a tank and makes it easy to interact with using fluid containers. It works like the Item Hatch does for items. What it does depends on whether you sneak.[1][4]

  • Right-click: deposits the fluid in your held item into the tank. If the held item can't be emptied, it fills the item from the tank instead.[4]
  • Sneak right-click: fills your held fluid container from the tank first. If it can't be filled, the fluid it contains is deposited into the tank instead.[4]

The crafting recipe is marked as changed by the pack, so go by this one rather than the mod's default.[3]

Addon integrations

Some features need other mods to do anything, so don't be surprised if you can't use them in every setup.[1]

  • Fragile Fluid Tank and Levitite Fragile Fluid Tank break on impact, and they need the Create: Simulated series. When one breaks, its fluid effect is applied to the surroundings.[1][4]
  • Bulk Processing air currents from a Simulated Contraption can affect blocks. The mod's own ponder notes that the Bulk Blasting air current spreading fire is off by default in its config, to stop new players burning their builds by accident.[1][4]
  • Bulk Enchanting is for The Aether. Air flows passing through Golden Aercloud create the setup, which runs Aether Altar recipes through fan processing. Some of those recipes repair equipment, so the input and output can be the same item type. The same airflow can also incubate Moa Eggs.[1][4]
  • Create: Granished fan processing recipes are supported by Bulk Coloring and Bulk Freezing. Create: Dreams & Desires fan processing recipes are supported by Bulk Ending, Bulk Sanding and Bulk Freezing, and its Industrial Fan is supported. Bulk Freezing also supports Freezer recipes from The Aether.[1]

Unverified Whether the pack changed the default for Bulk Blasting air currents spreading fire is unverified: that switch lives in the mod's config, and the sources here do not show it.

How do you progress through Create: Dragons Plus?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Create: Dragons Plus has no tier ladder that the sources here confirm. The pack's recipes for the mod are the only progression signal available, so this section goes through them one by one instead of inventing tiers.[5]

Tip: Every recipe that makes an item from this mod is marked as changed by the pack. If you remember different recipes from the standalone mod, trust the ones shown here.[5]

Fluid handling: the Fluid Hatch

The Fluid Hatch is a shapeless crafting recipe in this pack, and the pack has changed it. It builds on a Create item, so you need part of the Create tree before you can make it.[5]

Dye mixing

The largest group of recipes is dye production. Create mixing recipes in this pack produce the standard colors from this mod, such as Red Dye, Blue Dye and White Dye. The Dyenamics colors work the same way, for example Dyenamics Amber Dye, Dyenamics Mint Dye and Dyenamics Wine Dye. Each recipe accepts any item from a matching dye tag, so you are not locked to one specific input.[5]

Quests

Unverified The sources here show no quest chapter for Create: Dragons Plus and no place for it on the ATM Star path, so there is no confirmed quest-driven progression order for this mod. Check the pack's quest book in-game for anything beyond the recipes above. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How does Create: Dragons Plus work with other mods?

4 parts

Create: Dragons Plus is mostly a bridge mod in this pack. Its items show up in recipes from Create: Enchantment Industry and Dyenamics, and those recipes are where it connects to the rest of your base.[3]

Fluid Hatch and the Experience Hatch

The Fluid Hatch works like the Item Hatch, but for fluid tanks: it gives you a convenient way to take fluid out of a tank and put it in. The pack has changed its crafting recipe, so follow the one below and not what you remember from the mod's defaults.[1][3]

Fluid HatchChanged by the pack

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/fluid_hatch

The Fluid Hatch is also the base for the Experience Hatch from Create: Enchantment Industry. You make it by applying a Block of Experience to a Fluid Hatch with Create's item application, and this is the mod's own recipe, not a pack change.[3]

Item Application (create)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:item_application/experience_hatch

Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger

This mod's Smithing Template is what turns a Blaze Burner into the Blaze Enchanter or the Blaze Forger. Both are smithing recipes from Create: Enchantment Industry, and the pack has left both as the mod made them. The enchanter uses the Enchanting Table and the forger uses the Anvil.[3]

Infused Dragon's Breath

Infusing (create_enchantment_industry)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:infusing/infused_dragon_breath

Dyenamics dyes

The mod adds a matching dye item for each Dyenamics color, such as Dyenamics Amber Dye. The pack has a Create mixing recipe for each color that turns that item into the real Dyenamics dye, here Amber Dye. All of these recipes are marked as changed by the pack.[3]

The mod's project page also says its Liquid Dye and Bulk Coloring support dyes from Dyenamics.[1]

What changed in Create: Dragons Plus between versions?

3 parts

All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 ships Create: Dragons Plus 1.11.8b, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0 or earlier. Here are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, oldest first.[6]

Unverified Pack changelog entries for this mod were not available, so which pack releases changed which Dragons Plus version is unverified.

1.6.1 to 1.7.0

  • 1.6.1 fixed the Blaze Block not rendering its rods correctly.[7]
  • 1.7.0 added an attribute filter option for Stainable, made buckets of mod fluids work properly with a dispenser, and let Liquid Dye solidify concrete powder.[8]
  • 1.7.0 also added a block tag for the automatic polishing recipe generation denylist, plus a config option to disable colored concrete generation when Dye Fluid meets lava.[8]
  • 1.7.0 changed the Fluid Hatch so your bucket stays in your main hand after filling. It also fixed fan processing still running after its recipe was disabled in config, and a registration issue with the sanding recipe.[8]

1.8.x: Create: Dreams & Desires support

  • 1.8.0 made the mod compatible with Create: Dreams & Desires. Bulk Sanding, Bulk Ending and Bulk Freezing automatically support all of its fan processing recipes, and the Industrial Fan is supported.[9]
  • 1.8.0b added a PT_BR localization.[10]
  • 1.8.1 fixed the Break Fan Catalyst tags from Dreams & Desires, so Catalyst Sails should now work correctly.[11]
  • 1.8.5 stopped requiring Quicksand as a hard dependency for Bulk Sanding. It now activates if Quicksand is installed, Dreams & Desires is installed, or the Bulk Sanding block tag contains a block. It also updated the recipe format for newer KubeJS-Create compatibility.[12]
  • 1.8.6 (for Create 6.0.9) added the item tag not_applicable_for_coloring, which stops specific items from being bulk colored. It fixed crashes with the encased fan ponder: when Dreams & Desires is present without Quicksand, and when Oreganized is installed and you ponder bulk freezing. It also fixed an infinite fluid dupe when a Fluid Hatch interacted with Mekanism fluid tanks.[13]
  • 1.8.7 (for Create 6.0.9) fixed a crash when pondering the encased fan with Bulk Sanding in certain situations.[14]

1.11.8b: the version in this pack

  • Fixed the Aether Bulk Freezing JEI recipes, which showed incorrect container remainders for different bucket inputs.[15]
  • Corrected the Aether Bulk Enchanting Ponder tutorial so it uses valid Altar recipes and shows Moa Eggs hatching directly into correctly colored babies.[15]
