How do you get started with Mystical Expansion?

Mystical Expansion is built around three essences: Extremium Essence, Etherium Essence and Divinium Essence. Each one also comes in ingot, nugget, gemstone, coal and block forms, so the essences are where you start.[4][5]
The three essence quests sit in the AllTheModium chapter (Production group, chapter 36 of 44 in the book). None of them has an earlier quest, so you can start on them whenever you like. All three are listed before a quest in "AllTheModium", so you need every one of them to reach that Unobtainium Ingot quest.[2]
The order to work in
- Make Extremium Essence first. The quest is a quest in "AllTheModium". Its recipe starts from Insanium Essence, which has its own quest, a quest in "AllTheModium", in the same chapter.[2][4]
- Make Etherium Essence next. The quest is a quest in "AllTheModium". Its recipe starts from Extremium Essence.[2][4]
- Make Divinium Essence last. The quest is a quest in "AllTheModium". Its recipe starts from Etherium Essence.[2][4]
- Turn essences into ingots. The Extended Crafting chapter has quests for Etherium Ingot, Extremium Ingot and Divinium Ingot.[4][6]

Once you have essences, the ingots are the next step. The ingot quests are a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting", all in the Extended Crafting chapter (chapter 37 of 44, with 248 quests).[6]
Good to know
Divinium Essence turns up again in the ProjectE Philo Stone chapter (chapter 33 of 44). One quest there asks for 4 of them, a quest in "ProjectE Philo Stone", and the a quest in "ProjectE Philo Stone" quest comes after a long list of requirements that includes Divinium Essence. So it is worth making more than the one the AllTheModium quest asks for.[3]

How does Mystical Expansion work?

Here is the honest picture first: in this pack, Mystical Expansion doesn't add machines, power or fluid systems that the sources describe. Its language file lists only items and storage blocks, in tiers named Divinium, Etherium and Extremium. Each tier has an essence, ingot, gemstone, coal and nugget, plus storage blocks. So the mechanics here are crafting chains, and the places where the pack uses these materials in its own endgame recipes and multiblock.[5]
The essence chain
Everything starts with essence, and the tiers feed into each other: Extremium Essence leads to Etherium Essence, which leads to Divinium Essence. Each step uses an infusion crystal, and any crystal from the Mystical Agriculture infusion crystal tag works. The recipe blocks below show each step.[4]

Ingots, gemstones and coal
Ingots and gemstones are shapeless recipes that combine a Mystical Agriculture Prosperity item with 2 essence of the matching tier. The recipes for Divinium and Etherium show this for both the ingot and the gemstone.[4]
Coal exists for each tier: Divinium Coal, Etherium Coal and Extremium Coal. The recipe blocks below show how each is made.[4]

Storage blocks
Compressing and decompressing works both ways. A Divinium Block breaks back down into 9 Divinium Essence. A Divinium Gemstone Block gives 9 Divinium Gemstone, a Divinium Ingot Block gives 9 Divinium Ingot, and a Divinium Coal Block gives 9 Divinium Coal.[4]
Where the pack uses these materials
The pack leans on all three essences for endgame crafting. A Draconic Evolution fusion crafting recipe for the Unobtainium Ingot takes Divinium, Etherium and Extremium Essence among its ingredients. It runs at Wyvern tier and needs a total of 50,000,000 energy.[7]
The same three essences go into an Extended Crafting table recipe for Creative Essence. The Etherium, Extremium and Divinium ingots go into the recipe for the Neutronium solar panel, which makes 2 panels per craft. A Divinium Block is also one of the ingredients in the table recipe for Ultimate Infinity Seeds.[8][9][10]
The Infinity Cell Factory multiblock
The one machine-like system that touches this mod is a multiblock called the Infinity Cell Factory. Its structure is defined by a pack script, and it allows only 1 parallel recipe. The layout is a stack of square layers, and the last layer is where the Etherium Gemstone Block pieces go.[11]
The same script defines the machine's ports. There is a fluid input port, plus an item input port and an item output port that both need tier 6 or higher. The structure also uses a gigantic energy input port block.[11]
Unverified What the Infinity Cell Factory actually consumes and produces is set in the pack's infinity_cell_factory_recipes script, and the sources here do not show its contents.
How do you progress through Mystical Expansion?

In this pack, Mystical Expansion is a three-step essence ladder: Extremium, Etherium and Divinium. Each tier has its own essence, and its ingot, gemstone, coal and block all start from that tier's essence.[4]

Ingots, gemstones and coal
Every tier follows the same pattern. An ingot is made from a Prosperity Ingot plus 2 essence of that tier, and a gemstone from a Prosperity Gemstone plus 2 essence. The pack has changed the coal recipe for all three tiers, so use the recipe shown here rather than any mod default.[4]

Where the quest book sends you
The pack's quest book does not have a Mystical Expansion chapter. The tiers show up inside three Production chapters instead.[2][3][6]
In the AllTheModium chapter (chapter 36 of 44), there is one quest each for a quest in "AllTheModium", a quest in "AllTheModium" and a quest in "AllTheModium". None of the three lists a prerequisite quest. All three feed into the a quest in "AllTheModium" quest, along with Vibranium Ingot and several other items.[2]
The pack makes this link real with its own fusion crafting script. The recipe for Unobtainium Ingot takes all three essences. It needs a Wyvern tier fusion and 50,000,000 total energy.[7]
The ProjectE Philo Stone chapter (chapter 33 of 44) asks for Divinium Essence in several quests, and one of them wants 4 at once. These all lead towards the a quest in "ProjectE Philo Stone" quest.[3]
The Extended Crafting chapter (chapter 37 of 44) has an ingot quest for each tier: a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting". All three are prerequisites of the "The one and only" quest quest.[6]
Endgame uses
The pack's Creative Essence recipe is a 9x9 Extended Crafting table recipe that uses all three essences. The pack's Neutronium Solar Panel recipe uses all three ingots: Etherium Ingot, Extremium Ingot and Divinium Ingot. So the full ladder is worth finishing even if you only want the endgame items.[8][9]
How does Mystical Expansion work with other mods?

Built on Mystical Agriculture and Agradditions
The ingots and gemstones all build on Mystical Agriculture's Prosperity items: Prosperity Ingot for the ingots and Prosperity Gemstone for the gemstones. For example, here is the Divinium Ingot.[4]
Extremium Essence is tied to Insanium Essence from Mystical Agradditions. You can craft it from Insanium Essence, and you can also turn it back into 4 Insanium Essence.[4]
