What is Create: Dragons Plus?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Create: Dragons Plus is a Create addon that adds convenient features for players, plus dev utilities for other Create addon authors. As a player, you'll mostly care about the first part: it gives your Encased Fans new jobs and makes tank handling easier.[1]
This pack ships version 1.11.7b, and the mod has been in the pack since 2.47 or earlier.[2]
What it adds
- Bulk Coloring: use Dye Fluids with an Encased Fan to dye items. It supports most crafting recipes that use dyes.[1]
- Bulk Freezing: use Powder Snow with an Encased Fan to freeze items.[1]
- Bulk Ending: use a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath (fluid) with an Encased Fan to infuse items with energy from The End.[1]
- Bulk Sanding: use Quicksand with an Encased Fan to polish items. It supports all Sand Paper polishing recipes. Since version 1.8.5, Quicksand is no longer required if the Bulk Sanding block tag contains any block.[1]
- Fluid Hatch: works like the Item Hatch, but gives you convenient take and deposit operations on Fluid Tanks.[1]
Who it's for
If you already run Create and want to process items in bulk with fans instead of one at a time, this mod is for you. It's also handy if you want simpler fluid tank access.[1]
The mod also has optional integrations with other mods, such as Create: Simulated, Create: Granished, Create: Dreams & Desires, The Aether, Dye Depot, Dyenamics, Arts & Crafts and Ars Nouveau. Each one only matters if that mod is installed. Its features can be enabled or disabled, unless a dependent mod forces them on or off.[1]
Unverified The sources don't show any quests for this mod, any role on the ATM Star path, or an in-game guidebook. They also don't confirm which of the integration mods are in this pack, or whether the pack changed any of the mod's configs or recipes.
How do you get started with Create: Dragons Plus?
4 parts
Create: Dragons Plus is built around bulk processing. You run an Encased Fan through a special block or fluid, and the air current changes the items it passes over. The mod lists Bulk Coloring, Bulk Freezing, Bulk Ending and Bulk Sanding, plus a Fluid Hatch for taking fluid from or depositing fluid into tanks.[1]
Here is the order I'd follow, based on the recipes the pack actually ships for this mod.[3]
First, make Liquid Dye for Bulk Coloring
Coloring is the easiest setup to start with. Mixing dye with water creates Liquid Dye, and an air flow passing through that fluid becomes a coloring setup. The pack has a mixing recipe for every dye color, all marked as changed by the pack, and each one takes water plus any item from the matching dye tag. Red is shown here as an example.[3][4]
Mixing (create)
250× Water
- any minecraft red dye
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/red_dye_from_item
Every other color follows the same mixing pattern, for example blue, green and yellow.
Once it works, Bulk Coloring is automatically compatible with certain crafting recipes that use dyes. Coloring air flow can also change the color of entities, and equipped armor gets colored too. Items and living entities touching Liquid Dye are colored as well, so keep it away from your own gear. If Liquid Dye meets lava, it forms matching concrete.[1][4]
Next, get Dragon's Breath for Bulk Ending
Bulk Ending works when the air flow passes through a Dragon Head or through Dragon's Breath. To get the fluid, the pack has a Create emptying recipe that turns a bottle of Dragon's Breath into the fluid Dragon's Breath and gives you back an empty glass bottle. This recipe is also marked as changed by the pack.[1][3][4]
Emptying (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath
The pack changed this emptying recipe, so use this one.
Then, craft the Blaze Upgrade Smithing Template
The mod also adds the Smithing Template. Its additions slot is described as "Add working blocks for Blaze". The pack has changed its crafting recipe, so use this one rather than any recipe you remember from the mod's default.[3][4]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/blaze_upgrade_smithing_template
This recipe is marked as changed by the pack.
Finally, tanks and the Fluid Hatch
The Fluid Hatch makes a tank easy to use with fluid containers. It deposits the fluid from your held item into the tank it is placed on, or fills the item from the tank if the item can't be emptied. When you sneak and right-click, it fills your held container from the tank first, and only deposits if the container can't be filled.[4]
How does Create: Dragons Plus work?
5 parts
Most of this mod's systems revolve around one idea: you run an Encased Fan's airflow through a special block or fluid, and the fan turns into a new kind of bulk processor. On top of that you get a few fluids with their own quirks, a Fluid Hatch for tanks, and some optional integrations with other mods.[1]
Bulk processing with fans
Each bulk process works the same way: air flows through a catalyst, and that creates a processing setup. In this pack all four of the main ones are switched on in the server config.[4][5]
- Bulk Coloring: air passing through Liquid Dye creates a coloring setup. It is automatically compatible with certain crafting recipes that use dyes. It can also color entities, and equipped armor gets colored too. Toggle: recipes.enableBulkColoring.[1][4][5]
- Bulk Freezing: air passing through Powder Snow creates a freezing setup. Toggle: recipes.enableBulkFreezing.[1][4][5]
- Bulk Ending: air passing through a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath creates an ending setup. Toggle: recipes.enableBulkEnding.[1][4][5]
- Bulk Sanding: air passing through Bulk Sanding catalysts (Quicksand is the example given) creates a sanding setup, and it works with Sand Paper sanding recipes. Toggle: recipes.enableBulkSanding.[1][4][5]
The pack also keeps the generated Sand Paper polishing recipes for oxidized, polished and waxed blocks enabled: features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/oxidized_blocks, features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/polished_blocks and features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/waxed_blocks.[6]
Dye fluids
Mixing dye with water creates Liquid Dye, and heated mixing can recover the dye item from the fluid again. Items and living entities that touch Liquid Dye get colored, and when Liquid Dye meets lava it forms matching concrete. Dye fluids are enabled in the pack, and so is the lava-to-concrete interaction.[4][6]
Mixing (create)
250× Water
- any minecraft black dye
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/black_dye_from_item
Black is one example. The pack changed these mixing recipes, and each dye color has its own.
The server config controls how the contact coloring behaves. In this pack, source blocks color item entities and living entities (with their equipment) on contact, and an open pipe delivering Liquid Dye colors them as well. A source block is not used up after it colors something.[5]
- dyeFluid.dyeFluidBlockContactColorsItems = true[5]
- dyeFluid.dyeFluidBlockContactColorsLivingEntities = true[5]
- dyeFluid.dyeFluidBlockContactConsumesSource = false[5]
- dyeFluid.dyeFluidOpenPipeColorsItems = true[5]
- dyeFluid.dyeFluidOpenPipeColorsLivingEntities = true[5]
There is also a client-side setting, dyeVisionMultiplier, which multiplies your vision range through dye fluids. The pack leaves it at the mod default of 1, with an allowed range of 1.0 to 256.0.[7]
Dragon's Breath fluid
Dragon's Breath is a real fluid here, and it supports cauldron behavior. When flowing Dragon's Breath meets lava, it forms End Stone. The pack keeps the fluid enabled, along with the option that lets it slowly fill cauldrons through Pointed Dripstone.[4][6]
To get the fluid from a bottle, use the emptying recipe below. The pack also generates automated brewing recipes for Dragon's Breath Fluid.[3][6]
Emptying (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath
The pack changed this recipe. It empties a Dragon's Breath bottle into the fluid and leaves you a glass bottle.
If you want a steady supply, the mod page says an Ars Nouveau Containment Jar produces Dragon's Breath. The server config sets dragonBreath.mobJarGenerationAmount to 50 mB per second for a contained Ender Dragon, which is the mod default. The client setting dragonBreathVisionMultiplier works like the dye one and sits at 1.[1][5][7]
Fluid Hatch
The Fluid Hatch makes a tank easy to use with fluid containers: it gives you take and deposit actions right on the tank. It is enabled in the pack through features.block.block/fluid_hatch.[1][4][6]
- First behavior: it deposits fluid from your held item into the tank it is placed on. If the held item cannot be emptied, it fills the item from the tank instead.[4]
- When sneak right-clicked: it fills your held fluid container from the tank first. If it cannot be filled, it deposits the container's fluid into the tank instead.[4]
Simulated integration
If Create: Simulated content is present, bulk processing air currents from Simulated Contraptions can interact with blocks, and Fragile Fluid Tanks become available. These tanks break on impact, and when one breaks its fluid's effect is applied to the surroundings. The pack has both features enabled: features.recipe.fluid/air_current_block_interaction and features.recipe.fluid/fragile_fluid_tank.[1][4][6]
The pack sets features.item.item/blaze_upgrade_smithing_template to false, so that feature is switched off in the common config.[6]
How do you progress through Create: Dragons Plus?
3 parts
This mod has no tier ladder of its own that the pack's sources confirm. What the pack does show is a handful of recipes it has changed, so here they are, grouped by what they make.[3]
Blaze upgrade template
The Smithing Template is made with a shaped crafting recipe, and the pack has changed that recipe. Here is the exact in-pack version:[3]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/blaze_upgrade_smithing_template
This is the pack's changed version of the recipe.
Dragon's Breath
The mod's Dragon's Breath comes from a Create emptying recipe, which the pack has also changed. The recipe also gives you a glass bottle back.[3]
Emptying (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath
Also a pack-changed recipe, and it returns the empty bottle.
Dyes
The mod's dyes are made with Create mixing recipes, one per color, and the pack has changed every one of them. Each recipe accepts any item from that color's dye tag, so you are not locked to one specific input item. Red is shown here as an example.[3]
Mixing (create)
250× Water
- any minecraft red dye
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/red_dye_from_item
Every other color follows the same pattern with its own dye tag.
The same kind of recipe exists for White Dye, Black Dye, Blue Dye, Light Blue Dye, Cyan Dye, Green Dye, Lime Dye, Yellow Dye, Orange Dye, Pink Dye, Magenta Dye, Purple Dye, Brown Dye, Gray Dye and Light Gray Dye.[3]
How does Create: Dragons Plus work with other mods?
3 parts
In this pack, Create: Dragons Plus connects to other mods mostly through recipes. Its dyes, dye buckets, Dragon's Breath and a smithing template all show up in recipes from other mods. This section covers the links the pack's recipes confirm.[3]
Create Connected fan catalysts
The biggest link is with Create Connected. This mod's dyes, such as Red Dye, and its dye buckets, such as Red Dye Bucket, turn an Empty Fan Catalyst into the matching dyeing catalyst, for example Red Fan Dyeing Catalyst. This works for every dye colour of the mod. The pack changed both the filling recipes and the bucket item-application recipes.[3]
Filling (create)
Recipe id: create_connected:filling/red_fan_dyeing_catalyst_dragons_plus
Filling version, shown for red. The other colours follow the same pattern.
Item Application (create)
Recipe id: create_connected:item_application/red_dyeing_catalyst_dragons_plus_from_empty
Bucket version, shown for red.
The Dragon's Breath Bucket also works with the empty catalyst. It makes the Fan Ending Catalyst with Dragon's Breath, and the pack changed this recipe too. On its own, the mod page says Dragon's Breath is used with an Encased Fan to infuse items with energy from The End.[1][3]
Item Application (create)
Recipe id: create_connected:item_application/ending_catalyst_dragons_breath_from_empty
Create: Enchantment Industry
Create: Enchantment Industry uses this mod's Dragon's Breath in an infusing recipe that produces Infused Dragon's Breath. The pack changed that recipe.[3]
Infusing (create_enchantment_industry)
Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:infusing/infused_dragon_breath
The Smithing Template also appears in the recipes below for the Enchantment Industry blaze machines: the Blaze Composer, the Blaze Enchanter and the Blaze Forger. The pack changed the Blaze Composer recipe. The Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger recipes are the mod's own.[3]
Smithing Transform

Smithing Transform
Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:smithing/blaze_enchanter
Smithing Transform
Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:smithing/blaze_forger
Casting Create's natural stones
The pack adds block-casting recipes that produce Create's natural stones: Asurine, Crimsite, Limestone, Ochrum and Veridium. These casting recipes involve this mod's dyes, so the dyes are useful outside fan processing. The recipe is shown below for Crimsite, and the others follow the same pattern.[3]
Block Casting (productivemetalworks)
Recipe id: ftb:productivemetalworks/casting/crimsite
Which Create: Dragons Plus config options matter?
6 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Create: Dragons Plus has a client, a common and a server config file. In this pack almost everything is switched on, and every value that lists a mod default is still at that default. The only feature the pack turns off is a smithing template.[8][9][10]
What is switched off
features.item.item/blaze_upgrade_smithing_template is set to false, so the Blaze Upgrade Smithing Template is disabled in this pack.[9]
Bulk processing toggles
Each Encased Fan processing type has its own server toggle, and the pack sets each of the toggles below to true:[1][10]
- recipes.enableBulkColoring is true. Bulk Coloring uses Dye Fluids with an Encased Fan to dye items.[1][10]
- recipes.enableBulkFreezing is true. Bulk Freezing uses Powder Snow with an Encased Fan.[1][10]
- recipes.enableBulkEnding is true. Bulk Ending uses a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath fluid with an Encased Fan.[1][10]
- recipes.enableBulkSanding is true. Bulk Sanding polishes items with an Encased Fan.[1][10]
Dye fluid behavior
Dye Fluids themselves are enabled through features.fluid.fluid/dye, which is true in this pack.[9]
Dye Fluids can color items and living entities, both from source blocks and from an Open Pipe. In this pack, dyeFluid.dyeFluidBlockContactColorsItems, dyeFluid.dyeFluidBlockContactColorsLivingEntities, dyeFluid.dyeFluidOpenPipeColorsItems and dyeFluid.dyeFluidOpenPipeColorsLivingEntities are all true.[10]
dyeFluid.dyeFluidBlockContactConsumesSource is false, so a Dye Fluid source block is not used up after it successfully colors an entity.[10]
features.fluid.fluid/dye/lava_interaction_generate_colored_concrete is true, so colored concrete is generated when Dye Fluid meets Lava.[9]
Dragon's Breath
dragonBreath.mobJarGenerationAmount controls how much Dragon's Breath fluid a contained Ender Dragon generates every second, measured in mB. The pack uses 50, which is also the mod default, and the allowed range is 1 to 1,000.[10]
The fluid itself is enabled through features.fluid.fluid/dragon_breath. features.fluid.fluid/dragon_breath/dripstone_duplication is also true, so Dragon's Breath slowly fills cauldrons through Pointed Dripstone. Automated Brewing recipes for it are generated too, via features.recipe.recipe/automatic_brewing/dragon_breath.[9]
Other enabled features
- features.block.block/fluid_hatch is true, so the Fluid Hatch is available.[9]
- Sand Paper Polishing recipes are generated for oxidized, polished and waxed blocks. The toggles are features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/oxidized_blocks, features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/polished_blocks and features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/waxed_blocks, and each one is set to true.[9]
- The Sable integration options features.recipe.fluid/air_current_block_interaction and features.recipe.fluid/fragile_fluid_tank are both true.[9]
Client-side vision
dragonBreathVisionMultiplier and dyeVisionMultiplier multiply your vision range when you look through Dragon's Breath or Dye Fluids. Both are 1 in this pack, the same as the mod default, and each accepts values from 1.0 to 256.0.[8]
What changed in Create: Dragons Plus between versions?
3 parts
FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 ships Create: Dragons Plus 1.11.8b, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0.0 or earlier. The notes below come from the mod's own changelogs, newest first, and cover the changes worth knowing about.[11]
Recent fixes
- 1.11.8b fixed Aether Bulk Freezing JEI recipes showing the wrong container remainders for different bucket inputs. It also corrected the Aether Bulk Enchanting Ponder so it uses valid Altar recipes and shows Moa Eggs hatching straight into correctly colored babies.[12]
- 1.11.7b fixed Aether fan processing duplicating buckets when it turned one filled bucket into another.[13]
- 1.11.4 made Bulk Coloring keep block entity data when it swaps a block for a color variant that uses the same block entity type. Incompatible variants are skipped. It also stopped exceptions from third-party crafting recipes from crashing automatic Bulk Coloring detection, and corrected the Dye Depot integration colors to match Dye Depot 2.1.0.[14]
- 1.11.2b fixed Liquid Dye not coloring items and entities on contact.[15]
Create 6.0.10 and Sable
- 1.10.1 moved the Sable Integration feature setting to the Global Feature settings, which should prevent some loading issues. Sable Integration now loads with Sable instead of Create Aeronautics.[16]
- 1.10.1 also fixed several bugs: coloring sand with Supplementaries turned it into suspicious sand with the dye inside, Immersive Engineering potions could not be taken out through a Fluid Hatch, a Sable-only crash, a KubeJS related error, and a JEI Sanding category icon error caused by Quicksand lacking a block item model. It added Bulgarian localization and updated the French one.[16]
- 1.10.0 was an update for Create 6.0.10. If you use Create: Simulated, it needs to be at least 1.1.0. This release added Ponders for the Create: Simulated compat and extension features, added more fluid effects for the Fragile Fluid Tank, and fixed an issue that made everything unmineable.[17]
- 1.10.0b, also for Create 6.0.10, fixed the crafting recipe of the Fragile Fluid Tank.[18]
Create 6.0.8 and 6.0.9
- 1.8.7 (for Create 6.0.9) fixed a crash when pondering an encased fan with Bulk Sanding in certain situations.[19]
- 1.8.6 (for Create 6.0.9) added the item tag not_applicable_for_coloring, which stops specific items from being bulk colored. It also fixed ponder crashes: one with Dreams and Desires but without Quicksand, and one with Oreganized at the bulk freezing ponder. On top of that, it fixed an infinite fluid dupe when a Fluid Hatch interacted with Mekanism's Fluid Tanks.[20]
- 1.8.5 made Bulk Sanding stop requiring Quicksand. It now activates if Quicksand is installed, Create: Dreams & Desires is installed, or the Bulk Sanding block tag contains a block. The same release updated the recipe format for compatibility with the new KubeJS-Create.[21]
- 1.8.4 was an update for Create 6.0.8.[22]
- 1.8.1 fixed the Break Fan Catalyst tags of Create: Dreams & Desires, so Catalyst Sails should now work correctly.[23]
