What is Create: Dragons Plus?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Create: Dragons Plus is a Create addon that adds convenient features for players, plus dev utilities for other Create addon authors. As a player, you'll mostly care about the first part: it gives your Encased Fans new jobs and makes tank handling easier.[1]
This pack ships version 1.11.7b, and the mod has been in the pack since 2.47 or earlier.[2]
What it adds
- Bulk Coloring: use Dye Fluids with an Encased Fan to dye items. It supports most crafting recipes that use dyes.[1]
- Bulk Freezing: use Powder Snow with an Encased Fan to freeze items.[1]
- Bulk Ending: use a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath (fluid) with an Encased Fan to infuse items with energy from The End.[1]
- Bulk Sanding: use Quicksand with an Encased Fan to polish items. It supports all Sand Paper polishing recipes. Since version 1.8.5, Quicksand is no longer required if the Bulk Sanding block tag contains any block.[1]
- Fluid Hatch: works like the Item Hatch, but gives you convenient take and deposit operations on Fluid Tanks.[1]
Who it's for
If you already run Create and want to process items in bulk with fans instead of one at a time, this mod is for you. It's also handy if you want simpler fluid tank access.[1]
The mod also has optional integrations with other mods, such as Create: Simulated, Create: Granished, Create: Dreams & Desires, The Aether, Dye Depot, Dyenamics, Arts & Crafts and Ars Nouveau. Each one only matters if that mod is installed. Its features can be enabled or disabled, unless a dependent mod forces them on or off.[1]
Unverified The sources don't show any quests for this mod, any role on the ATM Star path, or an in-game guidebook. They also don't confirm which of the integration mods are in this pack, or whether the pack changed any of the mod's configs or recipes.
How do you get started with Create: Dragons Plus?
4 parts
Create: Dragons Plus adds extra ways to process items and fluids with Create's Encased Fan, plus a handy Fluid Hatch. The good news is that you only need a few things to get going, so here is the order I'd do them in.[1]
Make a Fluid Hatch first
Start with the Fluid Hatch. Like the Item Hatch, it gives you a quick take and deposit action on Fluid Tanks, and it makes your tank interactable with fluid containers. The pack changed this recipe, so craft it the way the block below shows.[1][3][4]
Crafting Shapeless
- any copper ingot
Item Drain
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/fluid_hatch
With the hatch on a tank, it deposits fluid from your held item into the tank. If the held item can't be emptied, it fills the item from the tank instead. When you sneak and right-click, it tries to fill your held container from the tank first, and only deposits if the container can't be filled.[4]
Turn dyes into Liquid Dye
Next, make Liquid Dye. Mixing dye with water creates it, and the pack has one mixing recipe for each dye colour. Here is Red as an example, and the other colours follow the same pattern. Like the Fluid Hatch recipe, these were changed by the pack.[3][4]
Mixing (create)
250× Water
- any minecraft red dye
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/red_dye_from_item
If you ever want the dye item back, heated mixing can recover it from the fluid.[4]
Set up Bulk Coloring
Now you can use your Liquid Dye. When air flows from an Encased Fan pass through Liquid Dye, you get a Coloring Setup that dyes items. It supports most crafting recipes that use dyes. Fan airflow can also color entities, and any armor they have equipped gets colored too.[1][4]
Get Dragon's Breath for Bulk Ending
Once coloring is running, you can try Bulk Ending. Air flows passing through a Dragon Head or through Dragon's Breath create an Ending Setup, which infuses items with energy from The End. To get the fluid, empty a Dragon's Breath bottle. The pack changed this recipe too, and you get the glass bottle back.[1][3][4]
Emptying (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath
Bulk Freezing (with Powder Snow) and Bulk Sanding are also part of the mod. Once the basics above are working, they are worth a look.[1][4]
How does Create: Dragons Plus work?
5 parts
Create: Dragons Plus is mostly about new Encased Fan processing setups (what Create calls bulk processing) and a few new fluids that behave in interesting ways. Add a Fluid Hatch for tank handling and you have the whole toolkit. Here is how each part works in this pack.[1]
Bulk processing with Encased Fans
Each bulk setup is an air flow passing through a specific block or fluid. The pack leaves all four of the mod's bulk toggles on: coloring, ending, freezing and sanding.[4][5]
- Bulk Coloring: air flowing through Liquid Dye colors items. It works automatically with certain crafting recipes that use dyes, much like Bulk Blasting and Bulk Smoking.[1][4]
- Bulk Freezing: air flowing through Powder Snow freezes items.[1][4]
- Bulk Ending: air flowing through a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath infuses items with energy from The End.[1][4]
- Bulk Sanding: air flowing through a Bulk Sanding catalyst (Quicksand is the example given) polishes items. It is automatically compatible with Sand Paper sanding recipes.[1][4]
The pack also keeps the generated Sand Paper polishing recipes for oxidized, polished and waxed blocks switched on.[6]
Dye fluids
Mixing dye with water creates Liquid Dye, and heated mixing can recover the dye item from the fluid again. The pack changes the mixing recipes for every dye color, so check the recipe viewer for exact inputs. Black is shown here as an example.[3][4]
Mixing (create)
250× Water
- any minecraft black dye
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/black_dye_from_item
The other dye colors have matching mixing recipes in the pack.
Liquid Dye also colors things it touches. Coloring air flow can change the color of entities too, and equipped armor gets colored as well. In this pack, dye source blocks color both item entities and living entities (and their equipment) on contact. The source block is not consumed afterwards. Dye coming out of an Open Pipe colors items and living entities as well.[4][5]
When Liquid Dye meets lava, it forms matching concrete. The pack has this enabled with features.fluid.fluid/dye/lava_interaction_generate_colored_concrete.[4][6]
If you find that seeing through dye fluids is a problem, dyeVisionMultiplier multiplies your vision range through them. It is set to 1 in the pack, which is also the mod default, with an allowed range of 1.0 to 256.0.[7]
Dragon's Breath fluid
Dragon's Breath fluid supports cauldron behaviour. When flowing Dragon's Breath meets lava, it forms End Stone. The pack keeps the fluid enabled, and also keeps features.fluid.fluid/dragon_breath/dripstone_duplication on, so it slowly fills cauldrons through Pointed Dripstone.[4][6]
To get the fluid from bottles, the pack uses an emptying recipe that has been changed from the mod's version. Generated automatic brewing recipes for Dragon's Breath are enabled too.[3][6]
Emptying (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath
The mod page says a Containment Jar from Ars Nouveau produces Dragon's Breath. The server config sets dragonBreath.mobJarGenerationAmount to 50 mB per second from a contained Ender Dragon, which is the mod default. Like dye, Dragon's Breath has a vision multiplier, dragonBreathVisionMultiplier, set to 1 here.[1][5][7]
Fluid Hatch
The Fluid Hatch makes a Fluid Tank easy to use with fluid containers. You place it on the tank, then use your held item on it. The pack changes its crafting recipe.[3][4]
Crafting Shapeless
- any copper ingot
Item Drain
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/fluid_hatch
The tooltip lists two behaviours. In one, the hatch deposits fluid from your held item into the tank, and if the item can't be emptied it fills the item from the tank instead. In the other, it fills your held container from the tank first and deposits only if filling isn't possible. Sneak right-clicking is the condition shown for the second behaviour.[4]
Simulated integration
With the Create: Simulated series, bulk processing air currents from a Simulated Contraption can affect blocks. The mod also adds fragile fluid tanks that break on impact, and when one breaks its fluid effect is applied to the surroundings. The pack has both features enabled.[1][4][6]
One last pack detail: the Blaze Upgrade Smithing Template is disabled.[6]
How do you progress through Create: Dragons Plus?
3 parts
This mod doesn't have a tier ladder in this pack. The recipe data shows no chain of stages where one unlock gates the next, so I won't invent one. What you get is a small set of recipes that the pack has changed: one crafting recipe, one Create emptying recipe and a set of Create mixing recipes for dyes.[3]
Unverified The quest sources available for this guide show no quests involving this mod, so there is no quest-guided progression for it that I can describe here.
Fluid Hatch
The Fluid Hatch is the one crafting-table recipe from this mod in the pack, and the pack has changed it. It is a shapeless recipe, so ingredient placement doesn't matter. Here is the exact in-pack recipe:[3]
Crafting Shapeless
- any copper ingot
Item Drain
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/fluid_hatch
This shapeless crafting recipe is changed by the pack.
Dragon's Breath
The pack also changes the Create emptying recipe that gives you Dragon's Breath. The recipe also returns the empty glass bottle, so you don't lose it.[3]
Emptying (create)
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath
This Create emptying recipe is changed by the pack and also gives back a glass bottle.
Dyes through Create mixing
The mod's dye items are made with Create mixing recipes, one for each color, and the pack has changed these recipes. These are the dyes:[3]
- White Dye, Light Gray Dye, Gray Dye and Black Dye[3]
- Brown Dye, Red Dye, Orange Dye and Yellow Dye[3]
- Lime Dye, Green Dye, Cyan Dye and Light Blue Dye[3]
- Blue Dye, Purple Dye, Magenta Dye and Pink Dye[3]
They all follow the same pattern, so here is one example. The other colors use matching recipes for their own dye tags.[3]
Mixing (create)
250× Water
- any minecraft red dye
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/red_dye_from_item
This Create mixing recipe is changed by the pack, and the other colors follow the same pattern.
How does Create: Dragons Plus work with other mods?
2 parts
In this pack, Create: Dragons Plus links up with other mods through Create Connected's fan catalysts and through the Fluid Hatch, which is built from a Create block. These are the recipes the pack dump lists for those links.[3]
Create Connected fan catalysts
Create Connected's Empty Fan Catalyst is the starting point. This mod's dyes can turn it into a colored catalyst such as Black Fan Dyeing Catalyst, using a filling recipe. Every dye color has its own filling recipe, and the pack dump marks them as changed by the pack.[3]
Filling (create)
Recipe id: create_connected:filling/black_fan_dyeing_catalyst_dragons_plus
Black is the example here. Every other dye color has a matching filling recipe.
There is also a bucket route. An item application recipe uses a dye bucket such as Red Dye Bucket on the empty catalyst to give the matching catalyst, here Red Fan Dyeing Catalyst. These recipes are also marked as changed by the pack.[3]
Item Application (create)
Recipe id: create_connected:item_application/red_dyeing_catalyst_dragons_plus_from_empty
Red is the example here. Every dye color has a matching bucket recipe.
The same bucket route covers the End catalyst. Applying a Dragon's Breath Bucket to an empty catalyst gives you Fan Ending Catalyst with Dragon's Breath. The dump lists only this bucket recipe for the End catalyst, not a filling recipe.[3]
Item Application (create)
Recipe id: create_connected:item_application/ending_catalyst_dragons_breath_from_empty
The pack dump marks this recipe as changed by the pack.
Fluid Hatch and the Item Drain
The Fluid Hatch is a shapeless crafting recipe that starts from Create's Item Drain. The dump marks it as changed by the pack. The mod's project page describes the hatch as working like the Item Hatch, giving you a convenient way to take fluids from and deposit them into Fluid Tanks.[1][3]
Crafting Shapeless
- any copper ingot
Item Drain
Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:crafting/fluid_hatch
This is the in-pack recipe for the Fluid Hatch.
Which Create: Dragons Plus config options matter?
6 parts
Create: Dragons Plus has a client, a common and a server config file. In this pack almost everything is switched on, and every value that lists a mod default is still at that default. The only feature the pack turns off is a smithing template.[5][6][7]
What is switched off
features.item.item/blaze_upgrade_smithing_template is set to false, so the Blaze Upgrade Smithing Template is disabled in this pack.[6]
Bulk processing toggles
Each Encased Fan processing type has its own server toggle, and the pack sets each of the toggles below to true:[1][5]
- recipes.enableBulkColoring is true. Bulk Coloring uses Dye Fluids with an Encased Fan to dye items.[1][5]
- recipes.enableBulkFreezing is true. Bulk Freezing uses Powder Snow with an Encased Fan.[1][5]
- recipes.enableBulkEnding is true. Bulk Ending uses a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath fluid with an Encased Fan.[1][5]
- recipes.enableBulkSanding is true. Bulk Sanding polishes items with an Encased Fan.[1][5]
Dye fluid behavior
Dye Fluids themselves are enabled through features.fluid.fluid/dye, which is true in this pack.[6]
Dye Fluids can color items and living entities, both from source blocks and from an Open Pipe. In this pack, dyeFluid.dyeFluidBlockContactColorsItems, dyeFluid.dyeFluidBlockContactColorsLivingEntities, dyeFluid.dyeFluidOpenPipeColorsItems and dyeFluid.dyeFluidOpenPipeColorsLivingEntities are all true.[5]
dyeFluid.dyeFluidBlockContactConsumesSource is false, so a Dye Fluid source block is not used up after it successfully colors an entity.[5]
features.fluid.fluid/dye/lava_interaction_generate_colored_concrete is true, so colored concrete is generated when Dye Fluid meets Lava.[6]
Dragon's Breath
dragonBreath.mobJarGenerationAmount controls how much Dragon's Breath fluid a contained Ender Dragon generates every second, measured in mB. The pack uses 50, which is also the mod default, and the allowed range is 1 to 1,000.[5]
The fluid itself is enabled through features.fluid.fluid/dragon_breath. features.fluid.fluid/dragon_breath/dripstone_duplication is also true, so Dragon's Breath slowly fills cauldrons through Pointed Dripstone. Automated Brewing recipes for it are generated too, via features.recipe.recipe/automatic_brewing/dragon_breath.[6]
Other enabled features
- features.block.block/fluid_hatch is true, so the Fluid Hatch is available.[6]
- Sand Paper Polishing recipes are generated for oxidized, polished and waxed blocks. The toggles are features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/oxidized_blocks, features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/polished_blocks and features.recipe.recipe/sand_paper_polishing/waxed_blocks, and each one is set to true.[6]
- The Sable integration options features.recipe.fluid/air_current_block_interaction and features.recipe.fluid/fragile_fluid_tank are both true.[6]
Client-side vision
dragonBreathVisionMultiplier and dyeVisionMultiplier multiply your vision range when you look through Dragon's Breath or Dye Fluids. Both are 1 in this pack, the same as the mod default, and each accepts values from 1.0 to 256.0.[7]
What changed in Create: Dragons Plus between versions?
4 parts
FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 ships Create: Dragons Plus 1.11.7b, and the mod has been in the pack since 1.0.1 or earlier. Below are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first.[8]
Latest fixes
- 1.11.7b (the version in your pack): fixed Aether fan processing duplicating buckets when it transformed one filled bucket into another.[8][9]
- 1.11.2b: fixed Liquid Dye not coloring items and entities on contact.[10]
Sable and compatibility
- 1.10.1: the Sable Integration feature setting moved to the Global Feature setting, which should prevent some loading issues. Sable Integration now loads with Sable instead of Create Aeronautics.[11]
- 1.10.1 also fixed a crash with Sable only, a KubeJS related error, and a JEI Sanding category icon error caused by Quicksand lacking a block item model.[11]
- 1.10.1 fixed coloring sand turning into suspicious sand with the dye inside when paired with Supplementaries, and fixed Immersive Engineering potions not coming out via the Fluid Hatch. It also fixed floor differences in the vanilla Create Ponder, added Bulgarian localization and updated French.[11]
- 1.10.0b: updated for Create 6.0.10 and fixed the crafting recipe of the Fragile Fluid Tank. If you use Create: Simulated, this release asks for at least Simulated 1.1.0.[12]
Bulk Sanding, coloring and crash fixes
- 1.8.7 (for Create 6.0.9): fixed a crash when pondering the encased fan with Bulk Sanding in certain situations.[13]
- 1.8.6: added the item tag not_applicable_for_coloring, which stops specific items from being bulk colored. It also fixed ponder crashes with Dreams and Desires without Quicksand, and with Oreganized at bulk freezing.[14]
- 1.8.6 also fixed an infinite fluid dupe when the Fluid Hatch interacted with Mekanism's Fluid Tanks.[14]
- 1.8.5: Bulk Sanding no longer treats Quicksand as a hard requirement. It activates when any one of these is true: Quicksand is installed, C:DnD is installed, or the Bulk Sanding block tag contains a block. This release also updated the recipe format for the new KubeJS-Create compatibility.[15]
- 1.8.1: fixed the Break Fan Catalyst tags of Create: Dreams & Desires, so Catalyst Sails should now work correctly.[16]
- 1.8.0b: added PT_BR localization.[17]
Older
- 1.6.1: fixed the Blaze Block not rendering its rods correctly.[18]
