What is Create: Connected?
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.16.0 guide
Create: Connected is an add-on for Create, and the pack ships version 1.1.16-mc1.21.1 of it. It has been in the pack since 1.8.0 or earlier, so if you've been playing for a while, it's likely already in your world.[1]
The mod's own in-game guide says it has a Crowdin page for translations. If you'd like to help translate it, that's the place to contribute.[2]
Unverified The sources I have don't describe the mod's items, blocks or mechanics, so I can't say here what it adds or who benefits most from it. They also don't show where it fits in the pack's progression, whether it is on the ATM Star path, or whether any quests involve it.
How do you get started with Create: Connected?
5 parts
Create: Connected adds extra kinetic parts, logistics blocks and fan catalysts on top of Create. Every Create: Connected crafting recipe in this pack's recipe dump is marked as changed by the pack, so don't trust recipes from other modpacks or wikis. Use the recipe blocks below.[3][4]
The order below is my suggestion based on what each item does, so start wherever your build needs it.[4]
Cross Connector: split your rotation
Start with the Cross Connector. It relays rotation in two directions independently, which helps you route power around a cramped early build without a pile of extra shafts.[3][4]
Brass Gearbox: a gearbox you can tune
Next, make the Brass Gearbox. The rotation direction of all 4 sides can be set independently with a wrench. The mod also has an advancement for placing one down.[4]

How does Create: Connected work?
7 parts
Most of what Create: Connected adds is about moving rotation, items and fluids around in smarter ways. In this pack every feature category is switched on: kinetic, logistics, redstone, palette and copycats. All the individual blocks listed in the common config are enabled too, so nothing is hidden behind a toggle.[5]
Routing rotation: gearboxes and connectors
The Brass Gearbox lets you set the rotation direction of each of its 4 sides independently with a wrench. The Vertical Brass Gearbox is the vertical variant, and a conversion recipe turns it back into the regular one. The six-way gearbox has shafts on all 6 sides, and its top and bottom spin at half speed.[3][4]
The Cross Connector relays rotation in two directions independently, so it is handy for crossing two lines without mixing them. The pack config sets the stress impact of the Brass Gearbox (stressValues.v1.impact.brass_gearbox) and the six-way gearbox (stressValues.v1.impact.six_way_gearbox) to 0.[3][4][6]

Clutches, shear pins and the brake
The mod has several ways to disconnect part of a network automatically. The Centrifugal Clutch only couples when the input RPM meets a configurable threshold. The freewheel clutch only couples when the input spins in the direction you configured. In the pack, both have a stress impact of 0.[3][4][6]
For protecting a network there are two options. The overstress clutch uncouples after a set delay when the network is overstressed, and you reset it to the coupled state by right-clicking it with a wrench. The shear pin is a single-use connector that breaks when the network is overstressed.[4]
The Brake does the opposite job. It produces immense stress when powered, which halts the network by overstressing it. The pack lists its idle stress impact as 0 and its powered stress (stressValues.v1.brakeActiveStress) as 16,384, the same as the mod default.[3][4][6]

The Crank Wheel and the large crank wheel both have a stress capacity of 8 in this pack (stressValues.v1.capacity.crank_wheel and stressValues.v1.capacity.large_crank_wheel).[3][6]

The Kinetic Battery stores energy and gives it back later. It holds up to 512 su-hours (batteryCapacity), discharges at 64 RPM (batteryDischargeRPM), and uses at least 1 su per tick while discharging to power belts (batteryMinDischarge). These values match the mod defaults.[6]
The battery's stress capacity is 32 (stressValues.v1.capacity.kinetic_battery) and its stress impact is 64 (stressValues.v1.impact.kinetic_battery).[6]
Items and fluids
The Brass Chute is an improved chute for high-throughput item transport and moves up to 64 items at a time. The Item Silo is a vertical item vault.[3][4]

The Fluid Vessel is a horizontal fluid tank. It is less efficient when used as a boiler, and right-clicking it with a wrench cycles its window shapes. The pack keeps the mod defaults for the boiler behavior: a heat multiplier of 0.5, a stress output multiplier of 0.8125, and a maximum boiler level of 18. These are set by vesselHeatMultiplier, vesselBoilerStressMultiplier and vesselMaxLevel.[4][6]
Fan catalysts
The Empty Fan Catalyst is where you insert material to catalyze fan processing. Dedicated catalysts such as the Fan Blasting Catalyst or Fan Haunting Catalyst are bulk processing devices, and the contents of a catalyst do not interact with the environment. Many of the dedicated catalysts are described as being for compatible mods.[3][4]
The pack has a shapeless recipe that turns each filled catalyst back into an empty one. This covers the blasting, freezing, glooming and haunting catalysts, both ending catalysts and the dyeing catalysts.[3]

Redstone and quality-of-life options
The Sequenced Pulse Generator is one of the mod's redstone components. Its program instructions include looping if the target state matches, or if an exact, minimum or maximum signal strength is reached, and transforming the input until the signal changes. A badly written program can overload it.[4][5]
The Redstone Link wildcard feature is enabled. However, allowDualWildcardLink is false, so you cannot put wildcards in both slots of a link. Changing it requires a restart.[5][6]
A couple of other server settings are worth knowing. The fix that gives remaining items after manual application is on (applicationRemainingItemFix), and schematics can be nested up to 5 sub-folders deep (schematicsNestingDepth).[6]
Copycats
Copycat blocks take the look of any full block. Click one with the item you want to copy and it applies that item as its material if possible. Click again to cycle its orientation or powered state, and use a wrench to reset the material. The pack has the copycat shapes enabled, along with settings that migrate them to Create: Copycats+ when a block updates or its block entity initializes.[4][5]
How do you progress through Create: Connected?
4 parts
Good news first: every Create: Connected recipe I can see in the pack data is marked as changed by the pack. So don't trust what you remember from the mod's default recipes. Use the in-pack recipes shown below, and check the recipe viewer for anything not covered here.[3]
I'm grouping things by the machines they build on, from plain Create parts up to brass-casing logistics. That grouping comes from the recipes themselves, not from a quest chapter.[3]
Early game: crank wheels, conversions and basic parts
These blocks build directly on plain Create parts: the Crank Wheel, the Large Crank Wheel and the Cross Connector. The crank wheel and cross connector recipes are shown here.[3]

Several Connected blocks are straight swaps for a Create block, so you don't need a separate crafting chain. Here is what each swap gives you:[3]
- Inverted Clutch from a Create clutch, and Inverted Gearshift from a Create gearshift.[3]
- Item Silo from a Create item vault, and Fluid Vessel from a Create fluid tank.[3]
- Linked Transmitter from a Create redstone link.[3]
The Fluid Vessel also has a regular shaped recipe if you would rather build one from scratch.[3]

The 6-way Gearbox has several routes in this pack. You can craft it directly, or turn a Create gearbox or a Parallel Gearbox into one. The parallel gearbox itself comes from a Create gearbox. The gearbox types also have vertical versions, and you can convert back and forth between the vertical and normal forms.[3]

Every specialised catalyst can be put back into an empty one with a shapeless recipe, so you can swap a catalyst for a different job. That covers blasting, smoking, freezing, haunting, sanding, washing, transmutation, glooming, both ending variants and every dye color.[3]
How does Create: Connected work with other mods?
5 parts
Create: Connected is mostly built on top of Create, but some of its recipes in this pack reach into other mods. The biggest cross-over is the fan catalyst line, which pulls in dyes, buckets and other items from several mods. This section is based only on the in-pack recipe data, and every recipe listed there is marked as changed by the pack except the one that makes the Empty Fan Catalyst.[3]
Getting an Empty Fan Catalyst
Every fan catalyst starts from the Empty Fan Catalyst. The recipe for it in the data is a mod recipe from Occult Engineering: you craft it from a Fan Enspirit Catalyst. It is a shapeless crafting recipe, so there is no grid layout to remember.[3]

Recipe id: occultengineering:crafting/empty_fan_catalyst
Dyeing catalysts and Create Dragons Plus
Each color of Fan Dyeing Catalyst, such as the Black Fan Dyeing Catalyst or the Light Blue Fan Dyeing Catalyst, can be made with Create Dragons Plus items. In a filling recipe you combine an Empty Fan Catalyst with that color's dye, for example Black Dye. In an item application recipe you use the matching bucket instead, for example Black Dye Bucket. Both routes give the same catalyst.[3]

Other special catalysts
- The Fan Ending Catalyst with Dragon's Breath is made by item application with the Dragon's Breath Bucket from Create Dragons Plus.[3]
- The Fan Transmutation Catalyst can be made by filling with Shimmer or by item application with the Shimmer Bucket.[3]
- The Fan Glooming Catalyst is made by item application with Exanimate Essence from Twilight Forest.[3]

Control Chip and plates
The Control Chip is made through a sequenced assembly. The recipe data lists Gold Plate and Iron Plate from FTB Materials among its items, along with Electron Tube, Redstone, Compass, Quartz and Gold Nugget. The Sequenced Pulse Generator then needs a Control Chip as one of its parts.[3]
Sequenced Assembly (create)

4× Incomplete Control Chip
Redstone
- any gold plate
Recipe id: create_connected:sequenced_assembly/control_chip
Several machines ask for any iron plate instead of one specific item: the Centrifugal Clutch, Freewheel Clutch, Overstress Clutch and Kinetic Battery. The Sequenced Pulse Generator likewise accepts any brass plate and any stone.[3]
Create conversions
Most of the remaining recipes are plain Create cross-overs. Examples are the Brake, Crank Wheel and Dashboard, which are built from Create parts like casings, shafts and cogwheels. Other recipes convert in both directions between a Create block and its Connected twin, such as Fluid Tank and Fluid Vessel, or Item Vault and Item Silo. The Shear Pin comes from a Create cutting recipe that takes a Shaft.[3]
Unverified The sources here show no quests involving Create: Connected items, so any quest-based integrations are not covered in this section.
Which Create: Connected config options matter?
5 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Create: Connected has a common config that toggles features on and off, and a server config with the numbers you'll care about. Every server option that lists a mod default is set to exactly that default, so the pack hasn't changed any of those values.[7][8]
Kinetic Battery
The Kinetic Battery holds batteryCapacity = 512 su-hours. It discharges at batteryDischargeRPM = 64 RPM, and a discharging battery powering belts uses at least batteryMinDischarge = 1 su per tick. All of these match the mod default.[8]
The pack also sets the battery's stress entries: stressValues.v1.capacity.kinetic_battery is 32 and stressValues.v1.impact.kinetic_battery is 64.[8]
Fluid Vessel as a boiler
- vesselMaxLevel is 18, which is both the mod default and the top of its allowed range (0 to 18).[8]
- vesselHeatMultiplier is 0.5, the mod default.[8]
- vesselBoilerStressMultiplier is 0.8125, the mod default.[8]
Stress values
stressValues.v1.capacity.crank_wheel and stressValues.v1.capacity.large_crank_wheel are both set to 8. A powered brake has a stress impact of 16,384 (stressValues.v1.brakeActiveStress, the mod default).[8]
These components all have an impact of 0: stressValues.v1.impact.brake, stressValues.v1.impact.brass_gearbox, stressValues.v1.impact.centrifugal_clutch, stressValues.v1.impact.encased_chain_cogwheel, stressValues.v1.impact.freewheel_clutch, stressValues.v1.impact.inverted_clutch, stressValues.v1.impact.inverted_gearshift, stressValues.v1.impact.overstress_clutch, stressValues.v1.impact.parallel_gearbox, stressValues.v1.impact.shear_pin and stressValues.v1.impact.six_way_gearbox.[8]
Redstone links, schematics and fixes
- allowDualWildcardLink is false, so a Redstone Link can't have wildcards in both slots. Changing it requires a restart.[8]
- schematicsNestingDepth is 5, the mod default. That's how many sub-folders are allowed for schematics.[8]
- applicationRemainingItemFix is true. It gives remaining items back after manual application.[8]
Feature toggles
In the common config, every category is enabled: feature_categories.copycats, feature_categories.kinetic, feature_categories.logistics, feature_categories.palette and feature_categories.redstone. Every individual entry under features, from features.brake to features.six_way_gearbox and the copycat variants, is also true. Nothing from the mod is switched off.[7]
Both migrateCopycatsOnBlockUpdate and migrateCopycatsOnInitialize are true. They migrate copycats to Create: Copycats+ when a copycat gets a block update or its block entity is initialized.[7]
What changed in Create: Connected between versions?
1 part
FTB StoneBlock 4 1.21.0 ships Create: Connected 1.3.3-mc1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since FTB StoneBlock 4 1.0.0 or earlier, so you've had it for the whole 1.21.1 run of the pack.[9]
Create version requirement
The one note repeated in the mod's 1.1.6 and 1.1.15 changelogs for Minecraft 1.21.1 is a compatibility warning: Create: Connected 1.0.0 or above only works with Create 6.0.0 or above. That's worth knowing if you ever swap mod versions by hand.[10][11]
Both of those changelogs point to the mod's own detailed changelog in its GitHub repository for the full list of changes in each version.[10][11]
Unverified Version-by-version changes to Create: Connected inside this pack, such as what changed between pack releases, are unverified, because no pack changelog entries for this mod were available.
