What is Oritech?
2 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Oritech is a tech mod built around animated machines, with plenty of processing options, world-interaction machines, logistics parts, equipment and new mechanics. Most machines are animated multiblocks, and you upgrade them with addon blocks. This pack ships Oritech 1.2.10.[1][2]
What you can do with it
- Run multiple ore processing chains and variants.[1]
- Set up automated farming machines and electric tools and armor.[1]
- Move items, fluids and energy with pipes, or send items over long distances with drones.[1]
- Mine blocks automatically with lasers, such as the Enderic Laser.[1][3]
- Augment yourself with cybernetics and build Particle Accelerators.[1]
- Generate power in different ways, from burning fossil fuels to running sustainable biofuel farms.[1]
A core design idea is that there are usually several ways to get the same thing, so you rarely hit a roadblock that needs one rare item. For example, plastic can come from farming items or from oil processing. The mod also aims for renewable fuel and items through large automated farms, and each pipe type has only one tier.[1]
Where it fits in the pack
The pack gives Oritech its own quest chapter. It opens with a Primitive or Basic Machine Core (a quest in "?") and with a Magnetic Coil plus a Motor (a quest in "?").[3]
The coil and motor quest leads to your first machines: the Foundry, Basic Generator, Powered Furnace, Pulverizer, Tree Cutter, Centrifuge and Pump.[3]
The machine core quest leads to the Machine Addon Extender, which unlocks the addon quests such as speed, efficiency, capacitor and yield addons. It also leads to the pipes and the Pipe Wrench.[3]
Further along, the Foundry leads to the Adamant Ingot, and that leads to the Assembler. The Assembler then leads to the Enderic Lens and the Processing Unit. Carbon fibre, the Cybernetic Augmentation Center and the research stations also have quests.[3]
Unverified The quest list available for this guide was cut off, so later Oritech quests (and how they connect to the rest of the pack's progression) are not confirmed here.
How do you get started with Oritech?
4 parts
Oritech is a tech mod, and the pack's Oritech quest chapter gives you a clear order to follow. Here is the path from your first machine core to the Assembler, and why each step comes first.[1][4]
Start by finding some nickel. The mod's first advancement asks you to pick up raw nickel, and nickel ingots show up in the Magnetic Coil, Motor and Reactor Wall recipes, so you will want plenty of it early on.[5][6]
The order to follow
- Make a Primitive Machine Core or a Basic Machine Core. Either one completes quest a quest in "?", and that quest comes before the Machine Addon Extender and the pipes.[4]
- Craft a Magnetic Coil and a Motor for quest a quest in "?". Many machine quests in the chapter come after this one, so it is your first real milestone.[4]
- Pick your first machines. The Foundry, Basic Generator, Powered Furnace, Pulverizer, Tree Cutter, Centrifuge and Pump all unlock right after the coil and motor.[4]
- Get an Adamant Ingot. Its quest comes after the Foundry in the quest line.[4]
- Build the Assembler. Its quest follows the Adamant Ingot, and the Enderic Lens and Processing Unit quests come after it.[4]

How does Oritech work?
6 parts
Oritech machines are mostly animated multiblocks, and you upgrade them by attaching addon blocks. That one idea drives most of how the mod plays, so it's a good place to start.[1]
Addons and machine upgrades
The pack has a whole family of addon items: Acceptor Addon, Burst Addon, Capacitor Addon, Efficiency Addon, Fluid Addon, Hunter Addon and Crop Filter Addon. There are also extender items, Machine Addon Extender and Power Bank Addon Extender.[5]
The advancement for an ultimate machine core says that with it you can add excessive addons, so the top core tier is the one to aim for if you want to stack upgrades.[6]

Unverified The mod has a config option that decides whether addon bonuses are added additively or multiplicatively. No Oritech config file is available for this pack in the sources here, so which mode is active is not shown.
Pipes and logistics
Oritech has item, fluid and energy pipes, and there is only one tier of each type. The mod is built with performance in mind: pipe blocks only get block entities where needed, such as when connecting to machines. Networks are cached, and updates are only sent when needed.[1]
The mod also has drones that transport items across vast distances.[1]
Pipe and pump recipes in this pack
The pack changes the recipes for the Fluid Pipe and the Pump through Ender IO compatibility recipes. These are not the mod's defaults, so use the recipes below instead of assuming the standard ones.[5]

How do you progress through Oritech?
6 parts
Oritech has its own quest chapter in this pack, and it walks you up the tech tree one step at a time. Every quest in it is an untitled item task, so I'll describe the path by what each stage unlocks.[4]
Stage 1: coils, motors and the first machines
The first big quest asks for a Magnetic Coil and a Motor (a quest in "?"). A lot of the basics follow straight after it: the Foundry, Basic Generator, Powered Furnace, Pulverizer, Tree Cutter, Centrifuge and Pump.[4]
Assembler (oritech)
Empty
- any copper ingot

The Motor is also made in the Assembler.
The pack changed the Pump and Fluid Pipe recipes. Both now use an EnderIO conduit binder, so don't rely on the mod's default recipes for them.[5]
A second early branch asks for a Primitive Machine Core or Basic Machine Core (a quest in "?"). It leads to the Machine Addon Extender, and to the pipes and the Pipe Wrench (a quest in "?"). That quest in turn leads to the Pipe Booster.[4]
- After the Machine Addon Extender you get the addon quests: Control Unit Addon, Quarry Addon, Inventory Proxy Addon, Hunter Addon and Yield Addon.[4]
- The acceptor, capacitor, speed and efficiency addon quests also accept higher-tier variants, from tier 2 through tier 9.[4]
- Off the Basic Generator you unlock the Lava Generator, Equipment Charger, Portable Energy Storage and Steam Boiler Addon. The boiler addon leads on to the Steam Engine.[4]
Stage 2: Adamant and the Assembler
The Foundry leads to Adamant Ingot (a quest in "?"), and that opens the Assembler (a quest in "?"). Past the Assembler you reach the Enderic Lens and the Processing Unit (a quest in "?"). The Processing Unit is the gateway to the placer, item filter, crop filter, fertilizer and reactor quests.[4]

The pack also changed the Adamant alloy routes in EnderIO, Immersive Engineering (alloy furnace and arc furnace) and Productive Metalworks casting. This is the Immersive Engineering alloy route:[5]
Alloy (immersiveengineering)
- any diamond gem
- any nickel ingot
Recipe id: oritech:compat/immersiveengineering/alloying/adamant
This Immersive Engineering alloy recipe is changed by the pack.
Stage 3: carbon, biopolymer and Biosteel
The Centrifuge leads to Carbon Fibre Strands (a quest in "?"). That unlocks the Fluid Addon, the Cybernetic Augmentation Center and the Improved Machine Core. The fluid addon then leads to Raw Biopolymer, and that leads on to Biosteel Ingot.[4]
The pack added its own way to get Raw Biopolymer, using the Centrifuge's fluid mode:[5]
Centrifuge Fluid (oritech)
Recipe id: ftb:oritech/centrifuge/fluid/raw_biopolymer_with_kelp_goo
This Raw Biopolymer recipe is added by the pack.
The Pulverizer branch gives you Enderic Compound (a quest in "?"), which unlocks the Advanced Machine Core. Together with Adamant it also leads to the Chainsaw or Hand Drill. The pack changed the Centrifuge recipe that turns Ender Dust into Enderic Compound.[4][5]
The augmentation line starts at the Cybernetic Augmentation Center. One quest after it asks for the Cybernetic Research Station, Quantum Research Station and Arcane Research Station.[4]
Stage 4: lasers, Fluxite and the Atomic Forge
With the Enderic Lens and the Processing Unit done, you reach the Enderic Laser and Target Designator (a quest in "?"). Next comes Fluxite, then the Flux Gate, then the Atomic Forge (a quest in "?").[4]
The pack changed how you get Fluxite, with recipes using Powah energizing and Productive Metalworks casting.[5]

The Flux Gate opens the Large Energy Storage, Big Solar Panel, Fragment Forge and Bio Generator. Fluxite itself leads to the Exo Helmet armor set and the Turbofuel Bucket. The fuel bucket unlocks the Fuel Generator, and the armor plus the bucket together lead to the jetpack quest (a quest in "?").[4]
Stage 5: after the Atomic Forge
- The Stabilized Enchanter with the Arcane Catalyst, the Drone Port, and the Destroyer Block.[4]
- The Elite Machine Core or Ultra Machine Core (a quest in "?").[4]
- The Particle Accelerator, followed by the Particle Accelerator Guide Ring, Particle Accelerator Sensor, Particle Accelerator Linear Motor and Tachyon Absorber.[4]
- Prometheum (a quest in "?"), which leads to the Ultimate Machine Core, the Prometheum Battleaxe and the Prometheum Pickaxe.[4]
Prometheum Ingot is made in the Atomic Forge.
The reactor branch
Once you have the Processing Unit, the Nuclear Reactor Controller (a quest in "?") opens a block of reactor quests. They cover the heat vent and heat pipe, rods with a fuel port, reflector and pellet, the heat absorber with its coolant absorber port, the reactor wall, and the energy and redstone ports.[4]
The pack changed all three Plutonium Pellet Assembler recipes, so they differ from the mod's defaults. The Reactor Wall can also be made in the Assembler:[5]

How does Oritech work with other mods?
7 parts
Oritech is designed so you can reach its materials in more than one way, and this pack leans into that by wiring it to a lot of other mods. The mod's own page lists built-in compatibility with AE2, Create, Ender IO, Immersive Engineering, Industrial Foregoing, Mekanism, PneumaticCraft: Repressurized, Powah and Productive Metalworks. The pack then changes or adds recipes on top of that. Here is where the connections show up.[1][5]
Metals and alloys
Oritech's special metals are tied into Productive Metalworks, and the pack changed the alloying and casting recipes involved. They give you Adamant Ingot, Biosteel Ingot, Duratium Ingot and Energite Ingot, plus Fluxite and the Block of Electrum. The pack also lets small Oritech dusts melt into molten copper, gold and iron.[5]
Fluid Alloying (productivemetalworks)
Recipe id: oritech:compat/productivemetalworks/alloying/energite
Energite alloying, changed by the pack.
Mekanism offers a second route for the dusts. Metallurgic infusing makes Adamant Dust and Biosteel Dust, and the pack changed both recipes. Bio fuel is shared too: a stonecutter converts Block of Biomass into Block of Bio Fuel and back, and casting Oritech biofuel gives you Mekanism's bio fuel items.[5]
Fluids, fuel and plastic
- Turbofuel (Turbofuel) can be made in the Centrifuge from PneumaticCraft diesel or crude oil, or from Industrial Foregoing biofuel, each combined with Fluxite.[4][5]
- Modern Industrialization sulfuric acid is used for the Basic Battery and the Advanced Battery.[5]
- Modern Industrialization naphtha is the starting point for Polymer Resin and Silicon Wash.[5]
- Plastic made in the Centrifuge is Industrial Foregoing's Plastic, and the pack also lets Kelp Resin be turned into Raw Biopolymer.[5]
One of the Turbofuel routes.
Ore processing
The pack adds an ore chain that runs through Oritech machines and produces FTB Materials items. Raw materials become clumps in the refinery, which runs on Sheol Fire, and the Atomic Forge turns clumps into dirty dust. Recipes exist for many metals, including aluminum, osmium, uranium and zinc. For copper, gold, iron, nickel and platinum, the Centrifuge also has an acid route to clean dust that yields Mineral Slurry. The iron versions are shown below.[4][5]

Circuits and machine parts
The pack changed the recipes for several Oritech components, so they now involve other mods: the Silicon Wafer and Enderic Compound link to AE2, the Advanced Computing Engine to Advanced AE, the Carbon Fibre Strands to Immersive Engineering, and the Fluid Pipe and Pump to Ender IO's Conduit Binder. The quests a quest in "?" and a quest in "?" ask you to make the carbon fibre and the enderic compound.[4][5]
Atomic Forge (oritech)
Recipe id: oritech:atomicforge/advcomputer
The advanced computing engine, changed by the pack.
Nuclear
Powah's energizing turns Uranite Crystal into Plutonium Dust. The pack changed the three Plutonium Pellet assembler recipes to start from that dust. The reactor quest a quest in "?" accepts either the uranium pellet or the plutonium pellet.[4][5]
Oritech parts in pack-made recipes
- Bio-Neural Circuit needs the Super AI Chip and energite. You can make it in a Modern Industrialization assembler or with an Advanced AE reaction recipe.[5]
- Supercritical Mass needs the Low-Yield Nuclear Explosion Device.[5]
- Infinitely Compressed Circuit Board is built through Create sequenced assembly that uses the Advanced Computing Engine and the Flux Gate.[5]
- Mekanized Super Computer needs the Oritech Prometheum ingot, along with Mekanism parts.[5]
- Ethereal Essence needs a plutonium pellet, and Dissolved Potential needs Strange Matter.[5]
- The Oritech Assembler makes a vanilla End Portal Frame using Mekanism's teleportation core.[4][5]

Addon quests
Four addon quests pair an Oritech addon with higher-tier versions from Oritech Things: the acceptor, capacitor, speed and efficiency addons. These are a quest in "?", a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?". They all come after the quest for the Machine Addon Extender.[4]
Which FTB Skies 2 quests use Oritech?
5 parts
Same as in the FTB Skies 2 1.22.0 guide
Oritech has one quest chapter in this pack, called "oritech". Its quests have no titles, so each one is identified by its ID and by the item it asks for. Every task I can see is an item task, so the chapter works as a tech tree: you progress by getting each machine or material in turn.[3]
Where the chapter starts
There are two entry points. a quest in "?" asks for a Primitive Machine Core or a Basic Machine Core. a quest in "?" asks for a Magnetic Coil and a Motor. Both unlock after a quest that isn't part of the quest list I was given, so I can't tell you what that one is.[3]
Early machines and addons
- After the motor quest, these open up: a quest in "?" (Foundry), a quest in "?" (Basic Generator), a quest in "?" (Powered Furnace), a quest in "?" (Pulverizer), a quest in "?" (Tree Cutter), a quest in "?" (Centrifuge) and a quest in "?" (Pump).[3]
- After the machine core quest, a quest in "?" asks for any one of the item, fluid or energy pipes plus the Pipe Wrench. a quest in "?" then asks for the Pipe Booster.[3]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Machine Addon Extender. It leads to the addon quests: a quest in "?" (Control Unit Addon), a quest in "?" (Quarry Addon), a quest in "?" (Inventory Proxy Addon), a quest in "?" (Yield Addon) and a quest in "?" (Hunter Addon).[3]
- Four more addon quests ask for the base addon plus a higher-tier version of it: a quest in "?" (acceptor), a quest in "?" (capacitor), a quest in "?" (speed) and a quest in "?" (efficiency).[3]
- The generator branch has a quest in "?" (Lava Generator), a quest in "?" (Equipment Charger), a quest in "?" (Portable Energy Storage) and a quest in "?" (Steam Boiler Addon). The boiler addon leads to a quest in "?" (Steam Engine). The pump leads to a quest in "?" (Portable Tank).[3]
Materials, augments and the assembler
- The foundry leads to a quest in "?" (Adamant Ingot), then a quest in "?" (Assembler).[3]
- The pulverizer leads to a quest in "?" (Enderic Compound), then a quest in "?" (Advanced Machine Core). a quest in "?" asks for a Chainsaw or a Hand Drill, and needs both the adamant and the enderic compound quests done first.[3]
- The centrifuge leads to a quest in "?" (Carbon Fibre Strands). From there you can do a quest in "?" (Improved Machine Core), a quest in "?" (Fluid Addon) and a quest in "?" (Cybernetic Augmentation Center).[3]
- The fluid addon leads to a quest in "?" (Raw Biopolymer) and then a quest in "?" (Biosteel Ingot). The augmentation center leads to a quest in "?", which asks for the Cybernetic Research Station, the Quantum Research Station and the Arcane Research Station.[3]
Processing unit, lasers and the reactor
a quest in "?" (Enderic Lens) follows the assembler. a quest in "?" (Processing Unit) needs the assembler quest plus one quest that isn't in the quest list I was given.[3]
The processing unit opens several branches: a quest in "?" (Placer Block), a quest in "?" (Item Filter), a quest in "?" (Crop Filter Addon), a quest in "?" (Fertilizer Block) and a quest in "?" (Nuclear Reactor Controller). a quest in "?" (Machine Frame) needs both the fertilizer and placer quests.[3]
The reactor controller unlocks the reactor build quests: a quest in "?" (heat vent and heat pipe), a quest in "?" (a rod, a fuel port, a reflector and a uranium or plutonium pellet), a quest in "?" (heat absorber and coolant absorber port), a quest in "?" (reactor wall) and a quest in "?" (energy port and redstone port).[3]
a quest in "?" asks for the Enderic Laser and the Target Designator, and needs both the lens and processing unit quests. It leads to a quest in "?" (Enderic Railgun) and a quest in "?" (Fluxite).[3]
Late game
- Fluxite leads to a quest in "?" (Flux Gate). From the flux gate: a quest in "?" (Large Energy Storage), a quest in "?" (Big Solar Panel), a quest in "?" (Fragment Forge) and a quest in "?" (Bio Generator). Large storage leads to a quest in "?" (Schrödinger's Safe).[3]
- Fluxite also leads to a quest in "?" (the full Exo armor set) and a quest in "?" (Turbofuel Bucket). The fuel bucket leads to a quest in "?" (Fuel Generator). Once you have both the armor and the fuel bucket, a quest in "?" asks for any one of the four jetpack variants.[3]
- a quest in "?" (Atomic Forge) needs the laser quest and the flux gate quest.[3]
- After the atomic forge: a quest in "?" (Arcane Catalyst and Stabilized Enchanter), a quest in "?" (Drone Port), a quest in "?" (Destroyer Block), a quest in "?" (Particle Accelerator), a quest in "?" (Prometheum) and a quest in "?" (Elite Machine Core or Ultra Machine Core).[3]
- The accelerator controller leads to a quest in "?" (guide ring), a quest in "?" (sensor), a quest in "?" (linear motor) and a quest in "?" (Tachyon Absorber).[3]
- Prometheum leads to a quest in "?" (Ultimate Machine Core), a quest in "?" (Prometheum Battleaxe) and a quest in "?" (Prometheum Pickaxe).[3]
- a quest in "?" asks for the Spawner Controller and the Spawner Cage. It unlocks after a quest that isn't in the quest list I was given, so its place in the order is unclear.[3]
