What is Supplementaries?
1 part
Supplementaries is a highly configurable mod that fills in the gaps vanilla leaves, adding content that is functional, good-looking and complements what the game already has. Think of it as a Vanilla+ upgrade, with jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters, lights, decoration and automation.[1]
It's for you if you like building and decorating, or if you want small automation helpers without going into big tech machinery. It works alongside vanilla content rather than replacing it.[1]
In this pack
The pack ships Supplementaries 1.21-3.4.4 for NeoForge. The mod itself needs Moonlight Library to run.[1][2]
The only quest connection I can confirm is in the food and farming chapter. Quest a quest in "?" asks for flax seeds, and it accepts Flax Seeds or the flax seeds from several other mods. It unlocks after another quest in the same chapter.[3]
The mod page says most features can be tweaked or disabled through its configs, and it points to the mod's own wiki for details on each block and item.[1]
Unverified I couldn't confirm whether the pack changes any Supplementaries config values or recipes, so check the in-game recipes and configs before relying on the mod's defaults. This site does hold All the Mods 10: To the Sky's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you get started with Supplementaries?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.6.1 guide
Supplementaries adds decoration, gadgets and automation pieces to the game. In this pack, many of its recipes have been changed, so the recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack versions rather than the mod's own defaults.[1][4]
Start with flax
The quest a quest in "?" (Flax String) is in the Food and Farming chapter and comes after Punch the Grass. It accepts flax seeds from several mods, including Flax Seeds. The quest says some of these seeds let you grow string directly, while others give an alternative that works in recipes.[5]
If you don't want to hunt for seeds, the pack has a Farming for Blockheads market recipe for them.[4]

Recipe id: farmingforblockheads:market/supplementaries/flax_seeds
The pack changed this market recipe.
Turn flax into string
Once you have Flax, the pack has a Create milling recipe that turns it into string and flax seeds.[4]

This milling recipe was changed by the pack.
Make your first Supplementaries items
With flax in hand, the Awning is a good first craft. The pack changed its recipe, and there are dyeing recipes for every colour, such as the Red Awning.[4]

The pack also adds its own crafting recipe for Lapis Bricks.[4]
How does Supplementaries work?
6 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
The project page describes Supplementaries as adding jars, signposts, faucets, weather vanes, spring launchers, sconces, planters, lights, decoration and automation. Here I stick to what the pack's config and the mod's own text explain about how these systems behave.[1][6]
Wind vanes and redstone power
The wind vane's swing speed depends on the redstone power it receives. The config comment gives the formula: pitch(time) = max_angle_1*sin(2pi*time*pow/period_1) + max_angle_2*sin(2pi*time*pow/period_2), where pow = max(1, redstone_power*power_scaling) and time is in ticks. So a stronger signal makes the vane swing faster.[6]
In this pack the values are the same as the mod defaults. blocks.wind_vane.max_angle_1 is 30, blocks.wind_vane.period_1 is 450, blocks.wind_vane.period_2 is 150 and blocks.wind_vane.power_scaling is 3. The comment says to keep period_2 at period_1/3 for a symmetric animation. It also says that raising the power scaling gives a more distinct indication when the weather changes.[6]
Rotating blocks
The advancements describe using a Wrench to rotate a block, and using a Turn Table to rotate yourself. The client option blocks.turn_table.turn_particles is on in the pack and shows particles when a block is rotated.[6][7]
Jars and cages
The option blocks.captured_mobs.tickable_inside_jars only affects visuals. It lists mobs that are ticked on the client while inside jars, which is mainly used for mobs with particles. In this pack the list is iceandfire:pixie, druidcraft:dreadfish, druidcraft:lunar_moth and alexsmobs:hummingbird. The config comment warns that it can cause issues and side effects. It also says that to allow more entities in cages you need to edit the respective tags, not this list.[6]
Altimeter
The Altimeter is called a depth meter in its config. With items.altimeter.click_action enabled, clicking it displays your current depth. The pack gives it unique textures for the Nether and the End through items.altimeter.extra_dimension_textures. The recipe is changed by the pack, so use this one:[6][8]

Display and message blocks
- Pedestal: displayed items spin in the pack (blocks.pedestal.spin) at a speed of 2 (blocks.pedestal.speed). Special display types for items like swords, tridents and end crystals are enabled through blocks.pedestal.fancy_renderers.[6]
- Item shelf: blocks.item_shelf.supported_blocks moves displayed 3D blocks down so they touch the shelf. They are then not vertically centered.[6]
- Notice board: displayed text is centered rather than left-aligned (blocks.notice_board.centered_text). The project page also says that putting a written book named "credits" in a Notice Board shows the mod's credits in-game.[1][6]
- Speaker block: blocks.speaker_block.mute_narrator is false in the pack. Setting it to true mutes incoming narrator messages and shows them in chat instead.[6]
Effects and enchantments
- Stasis lets Slingshot projectiles ignore gravity.[7]
- Lumisene Fire Aspect adds lumisene fire damage when you attack a mob. Lumisene Flame does the same for arrows fired from a bow.[7]
- Flammable increases on-fire duration and spreads fire as you walk.[7]
- Overencumbered prevents sprinting. Further levels reduce jump height and hinder walking speed respectively.[7]
How do you progress through Supplementaries?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide
Supplementaries has no tier ladder that the sources here lay out. In the pack's quest book it shows up in the Flax String quest in the Food and Farming chapter, and in an unnamed wrench quest in the Industrial Foregoing chapter. Here is where each fits.[9][10]
Early game: flax and string
The Flax String quest unlocks after the Punch the Grass quest. Its task accepts Flax Seeds or flax seeds from several other mods, so you can hand in whichever you find first. The quest text says some of them let you grow string directly, while others give an alternative that works in recipes.[9]
The pack changed both recipes that involve Supplementaries flax. The Farming for Blockheads market has a recipe for Flax Seeds, and a Create milling recipe turns Flax into string and flax seeds.[8]
Flax is also the start of the decorative line. The pack's Awning recipe uses it, and every dyed Awning is made from that base Awning plus a dye.[8]
Crafting Shaped

Recipe id: supplementaries:awnings/awning

Mid game: the Wrench
The unnamed quest a quest in "?" in the Industrial Foregoing chapter comes after the Industrial Foregoing quest. It lists wrenches that can rotate Industrial Foregoing machines, and the Wrench is one of the accepted items. The quest author tested mainly on the Laser Drill and says some wrenches might not work with other machines.[10]
The pack changed the Wrench's crafting recipe, so don't rely on the mod's default. This is the in-pack version:[8]
The pack's changed recipe for the Wrench.
Everything else
The pack changed the Altimeter recipe, shown below. The part of the recipe dump shown here also marks the Bomb, Cage, Bunting and Candle Holder recipes as changed, so check the in-pack recipe before you plan a build around any of them.[8]

How does Supplementaries work with other mods?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.6.1 guide
The sources confirm a Planter recipe that uses an item from another mod, and a farming quest that accepts flax seeds from several mods.[4][5]
Farmer's Delight and the Planter
The Planter has an integration recipe that uses Rich Soil from Farmer's Delight. The pack changed this recipe, so don't assume it matches the mod's default. The block below shows the exact in-pack recipe.[4]
Flax seeds in the Food and Farming quests
The a quest in "?" quest in the Food and Farming chapter comes after Punch the Grass. You can complete it with flax seeds from several mods, including Flax Seeds from Supplementaries. The other accepted seeds come from Immersive Engineering, Productive Farming, Silent Gear and Actually Additions, going by their item ids.[5]
The quest text says some of these let you grow string directly, while others give you an alternative that works in recipes. The sources here don't say which seed does which.[5]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Supplementaries?
1 part
Supplementaries shows up in just one quest in this pack, in the food_and_farming chapter. It's a small one, so this section is short.[3]
The quest is a quest in "?", and it has no title in the quest book. It's a single item task: you hand in any one of several flax seed items. Flax Seeds is one of them. The others come from Immersive Engineering (listed as its seed item), Productive Farming, Silent Gear and Actually Additions.[3]
Because the task accepts any of those items, you don't need Supplementaries to finish it. Whichever flax seeds you find first will work.[3]
Order
This quest comes after a quest in "?" in the same chapter, so you need to finish that one first. The quest data here doesn't show what that earlier quest asks for.[3]
Which Supplementaries config options matter?
3 parts
Everything in this section is in the client config file, config/supplementaries-client.toml. Where the pack file lists a mod default next to an option, the pack's value matches it for the options covered here, so the pack changes none of them. Here are the ones you're most likely to touch.[11]
Screens and tooltips
- general.tooltip_hints and general.placeable_tooltips are both set to true in the pack. The first shows some tooltip hints to guide players through the mod, and the second shows tooltips on items that have been made placeable.[11]
- general.no_amendments_screen and general.no_incompatible_mods_screen are set to true in the pack. They disable the Amendments suggestion screen and the incompatible mods warning screen. general.no_optifine_warn_screen is false.[11]
- general.config_button is false in the pack. Turning it on enables a Quark style config button on the main menu, and it needs Configured installed to work.[11]
- tweaks.tooltip_image_size is 80 in the pack, the mod default. It is the size of the tooltip image used for Sherds, Blackboards, Banner patterns and Paintings.[11]
- blocks.clock_block.24h_format is true in the pack, which displays the 24h time format. Set it to false for the 12h format.[11]
Performance-related options
- blocks.flag.fanciness is set to FABULOUS in the pack. The allowed values are FAST, FANCY and FABULOUS, and the option sets at which graphics setting flags have a fancy renderer. blocks.flag.render_as_banner is false.[11]
- blocks.bunting.fast_buntings is false in the pack. Turning it on makes buntings use normal block models with no animation for faster performance.[11]
- tweaks.placeable_books_glint is false in the pack. Turning it on renders an enchantment glint on placeable enchanted books, but book piles then use the tile renderer instead of baked models, which makes them slower to render.[11]
- tweaks.colored_maps.accurate_colors is false in the pack. Turning it on makes colored maps a bit more accurate, but it might affect performance.[11]
Items and blocks you'll notice
- items.quiver.render_mode and items.quiver.skeleton_render_mode are both THIGH in the pack. The other allowed values are HIDDEN, BACK and HIP.[11]
- items.slingshot.overlay, items.quiver.overlay and tweaks.projectile_weapon_overlay are all true in the pack. Each one adds a GUI overlay that displays the currently selected ammo (or arrow, for the quiver).[11]
- items.slingshot.projectile_scale is 0.5 in the pack, the mod default. items.slingshot.stasis_block_outline is true in the pack, which renders the block outline for distant blocks reachable with a slingshot enchanted with Stasis.[11]
- blocks.pedestal.spin is true and blocks.pedestal.speed is 2 (the mod default) in the pack. blocks.pedestal.fancy_renderers is true, which enables special display types for items like swords, tridents or end crystals.[11]
- The wind vane settings in the pack match the mod defaults: blocks.wind_vane.max_angle_1 is 30, blocks.wind_vane.period_1 is 450 and blocks.wind_vane.power_scaling is 3.[11]
- blocks.speaker_block.mute_narrator is false in the pack. Turning it on mutes speaker block incoming narrator messages and displays them in chat instead.[11]
What changed in Supplementaries between versions?
Version 1.0.2 of the pack ships Supplementaries 1.21-3.4.4, the NeoForge build. The mod has been in the pack since version 1.0 or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[2]
The only change in the mod's own 3.4.4 changelog is small: a missing class was added back for compatibility with Snowy Spirit. You won't see anything different in play from it.[12]
The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so there are no pack-specific changes to Supplementaries to report here.[2]
