What is RFTools Utility?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
RFTools Utility is the 1.14+ version of the original RFTools, a collection of general tools and utilities. Its project page describes it as the home for RFTools blocks that don't fit a more specific category.[1]
This pack includes version 1.21-7.0.12 of the mod.[2]
What's inside
According to the mod's project page, it contains these blocks and tools:[1]
- Automatic crafter[1]
- Environmental controller[1]
- Logic blocks[1]
- Information screens[1]
- Spawner system[1]
- Multitank[1]
- Teleportation system[1]
Related mods
The mod is intended to be used together with RFTools Power. It depends on RFTools Base and McJtyLib.[1]
How do you get started with RFTools Utility?
5 parts
RFTools Utility is a grab bag of general RFTools blocks: an automatic crafter, the environmental controller, logic blocks, information screens, a spawner system, a multitank and a teleportation system. It depends on RFTools Base and McJtyLib, and it is meant to be used together with RFTools Power.[1]
Many of the machines here are built from a Machine Base or a Machine Frame from RFTools Base, so get those sorted first. Several recipes in this pack are changed from the mod's defaults, so follow the recipe blocks below rather than what you remember from other packs.[3]
First: a Screen
The Screen is where the mod's information screens start. Its recipe is the mod's own, unchanged by the pack.[1][3]

A screen needs modules to show anything. The Machine Information Screen Module monitors a machine, as long as that machine supports the system. Sneak right-click a supported block to set the module's target. The pack changes this recipe.[3][4]

Next: automate your crafting
The Crafter Tier 1 is the mod's automatic crafter. It uses the mod's default recipe, so the pack leaves it as it is.[1][3]

After that: wireless redstone
The Redstone Transmitter and Redstone Receiver both have pack-changed recipes. The Redstone Module is for the Tablet, where you can view and control wireless redstone. Right-click a transmitter or receiver with it to add that channel to the module. Its recipe is also changed by the pack.[3][4]

How does RFTools Utility work?
6 parts
RFTools Utility is the general-purpose part of the RFTools family: the blocks that don't fit a more specific category. It is meant to be used together with RFTools Power, and it depends on RFTools Base and McJtyLib. Several recipes in this pack use the Machine Base and Machine Frame from RFTools Base.[1][3]

Information screens and modules
Information screens are driven by modules, one for each kind of data you want to show: Energy Screen Module, Fluid Screen Module, Inventory Screen Module, Counter Screen Module, Clock Screen Module and Button Screen Module. The pack changed the recipes for all of these basic modules. Here are the in-pack versions of several of them.[3]

Unverified Config values for this mod are not shown here: the sources provided include no config files for it, so any numbers you remember from the mod's defaults are unconfirmed for this pack.
How do you progress through RFTools Utility?
6 parts
Here is how RFTools Utility builds up in this pack, based on how the in-pack recipes feed into each other. A lot of the recipes were changed by the pack, so don't rely on what you remember from the mod's defaults.[3]
Unverified Quest ordering for this mod is not shown in the sources here. If you want to know how the pack's quest book treats it, check the quest book in-game.
Redstone building blocks
You start with the small logic parts. The pack changed the recipes for Wire, Logic, Sequencer, Timer, Counter, Analog, Digit, Sensor and Inventory Checker. They are all built around a Machine Base (Machine Base), so make sure you can craft that first.[3]
The Redstone Transmitter and Redstone Receiver are also pack-changed recipes, and they pull in ender pearls and redstone storage blocks. Plan for those before you try wireless redstone.[3]
Screens and screen modules
The Screen keeps the mod's own recipe. The Screen Controller and Screen Link are changed by the pack. The basic modules are also pack-changed: Text Screen Module, Button Screen Module, Clock Screen Module, Counter Screen Module, Energy Screen Module, Fluid Screen Module, Inventory Screen Module, Machine Information Screen Module and Redstone Screen Module.[3]
Counter, Energy, Fluid and Inventory each have a Plus version: Counter Plus Screen Module, Energy Plus Screen Module, Fluid Plus Screen Module and Inventory Plus Screen Module. You craft each one from its basic module, and they use the mod's own recipes.[3]
Crafter tiers
The crafter line is an upgrade chain with unchanged mod recipes. You craft Crafter Tier 1, then upgrade it to Crafter Tier 2, then upgrade that to Crafter Tier 3.[3]

Teleportation
The teleport network parts are pack-changed: Matter Transmitter, Matter Receiver, Dialing Device, Destination Analyzer, Matter Booster, Matter Beamer and Simple Dialer. For portable teleporting, the Charged Porter is also changed by the pack. The Advanced Charged Porter is the upgrade, and it uses the mod's own recipe.[3]

Player effect modules
The effect modules are gated by templates, and each module needs a Syringe. The Module Template recipe uses materials from the base mod, including Infused Diamond. The ModulePlus Template is crafted from the Module Template, so it comes later.[3]

- ModulePlus Template tier: Blindness Module, Flight Module, Noteleport Module, Peaceful Module and Waterbreathing Module.[3]
- Plus upgrades of basic modules: Speed+ Module, Haste+ Module, Featherfalling+ Module, Regeneration+ Module and Saturation+ Module. Each one is crafted from its basic module and a ModulePlus Template. Only Haste+ is changed by the pack; the others use the mod's own recipes.[3]
Other late-game pieces
The Spawner has a pack-changed recipe, while the Tank keeps the mod's own recipe. Both need a Machine Frame (Machine Frame).[3]
How does RFTools Utility work with other mods?
3 parts
RFTools Utility has only a few confirmed links to other mods in this pack. The main ones are the shared RFTools Base parts, a set of recipes the pack rewrote, and one pack-added recipe that uses the Flight Module.[1][3]
RFTools Base is the backbone
The mod's project page says it depends on RFTools Base and McJtyLib, and that it is meant to be used together with RFTools Power. The RFTools Base link shows up in many of the recipes: a lot of the mod's blocks are built around a Machine Base or a Machine Frame.[1][3]
The module upgrades lean on RFTools Base items too. The Module Template leads to the ModulePlus Template, and Plus modules such as Haste+ Module and Speed+ Module build on that Plus template.[3]

Recipes the pack changed
The pack rewrote many of the mod's recipes. These are some of the ones marked as changed, so check the recipes shown here instead of assuming the mod's defaults.[3]
- Logic: changed by the pack[3]
- Analog: changed by the pack[3]
- Wire: changed by the pack[3]

The Flight Module and the Improbable Probability Device
The clearest cross-mod link is a recipe the pack added. The Improbable Probability Device uses the Flight Module together with parts from other mods, so if you are heading for that item, you will need to make the Flight Module first. The full recipe is shown below the list.[3]
- EnderIO: Vibrant Capacitor Bank[3]
- MEGA Cells: 16M MEGA Storage Component[3]
- Mekanism: Antimatter Pellet[3]
- Oritech: Large Energy Storage[3]

Added by the pack, with the Flight Module as one of its parts.
The Flight Module itself is not made on a crafting table. Its recipe uses the Syringe recipe type, so the Syringe is part of it, and it also needs a ModulePlus Template. The sources list it as an unchanged mod recipe.[3]
