What is Dyenamics and Friends?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Dyenamics and Friends is part of the pack. This version of the pack ships version 1.21.1-2.2.2 of the mod. It has been in the pack since version 2.47 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't describe what the mod adds, who it's aimed at, or where it fits into the pack's progression. I've left those details out rather than guess. No quest or ATM Star path connection is confirmed either.

How do you get started with Dyenamics and Friends?

3 parts

Dyenamics and Friends doesn't add a machine or a progression chain of its own. It adds Dyenamics-colored versions of blocks from other mods in the pack, such as elevators, seats, botany pots, foundry parts, kitchen floors and petrified honey. The crafting recipes for these items are added by the pack itself, so the recipe blocks below are the ones to follow.[2]

The recipes I could check cover the Amber and Aquamarine colors, and every example here uses Amber. The recipe list I was given is cut off, so I can't confirm what other colors exist or whether they follow the same pattern.[2]

What to make first

  1. Get the matching Dyenamics base block for your color. Most of the recipes start from a Dyenamics block such as Amber Wool, or from a dye of that color.[2]
  2. Start with a seat. The Amber Seat has a shapeless recipe in the pack. If you already have a Create seat, another recipe recolors it with the matching dye.[2]
  3. Make an elevator next. The Amber Elevator has its own shaped recipe in the pack.[2]

Botany pots

Each color has botany pots in terracotta, glazed terracotta and concrete versions. Start with the plain pot, for example the Amber Botany Pot.[2]

Recolors for other mods' blocks

Several items are dye recolors of blocks from other mods. That includes Amber Fire Bricks, the Amber foundry parts such as the Amber Foundry Controller, the Amber Kitchen Floor and Amber Petrified Honey. Build the normal block first, then recolor it with the matching dye.[2]

The mod's language file also lists painted planks, stairs and slabs for Regions Unexplored in colors like Amber and Aquamarine. The sources I have don't show recipes for those.[3]

How does Dyenamics and Friends work?

4 parts

The sources show Dyenamics and Friends as a set of recolored versions of blocks from other mods, made in the Dyenamics colours. Amber is the colour that appears in the recipe dump. This page covers what the sources confirm about how you obtain these variants in the pack.[2][3]

Foundry parts

The pack adds recipes for an Amber Foundry Controller, Amber Foundry Tank, Amber Foundry Drain, Amber Foundry Capacitor and Amber Foundry Window. Each of these is a shapeless recipe that starts from a part of the matching kind. The Amber Fire Bricks have both a shaped recipe and a shapeless one.[2]

Botany pots

The recipe dump shows a plain pot, a hopper pot and a waxed pot for the Amber colour. The Amber Botany Pot is the terracotta version. Glazed terracotta and concrete versions exist too, such as the Amber Glazed Botany Pot and the Amber Concrete Botany Pot. All of these recipes are marked as added by the pack.[2]

You can reach a hopper pot by upgrading a finished pot, or in one step with the compact shaped recipe. The waxed pot is made from a finished pot in a separate shapeless recipe.[2]

Painted planks and the chalk box

The mod's language file lists painted planks, stairs and slabs in many colours, such as Lavender, Peach and Ultramarine, for a Regions Unexplored wood set. It also names a resource pack for Regions Unexplored. Some colours, such as Amber and Honey, list planks and stairs but no slab entry. A Chalk Box item has a tooltip saying it works with Dyenamics dyes.[3]

Unverified How the Chalk Box is used, how the painted planks are made, and how any of these variants behave in play are not shown by the sources here. The mod has no config files in the pack and no in-jar guidebook was found for it.

How do you progress through Dyenamics and Friends?

3 parts

Dyenamics and Friends has no tier ladder of its own. It adds Dyenamics-colour versions of blocks from other mods, and the recipes for it in this pack were all added by the pack. Your progression follows the mods these items come from, not a ladder inside this mod.[2]

Amber and aquamarine each get the same set of items, so everything below uses amber as the example. The aquamarine versions follow the same patterns.[2]

The botany pot ladder

Botany pots have the clearest upgrade path. They come in three materials: terracotta, glazed terracotta and concrete. Each material has a basic pot, a hopper version and a waxed version, for example Amber Botany Pot, Amber Hopper Botany Pot and Amber Waxed Botany Pot.[2]

How does Dyenamics and Friends work with other mods?

4 parts

Dyenamics and Friends carries the extra Dyenamics colors into other mods. In this pack, every recipe that links it to another mod is added by the pack itself. The examples below mostly use Amber and Aquamarine, and the same pattern shows up across the other recipes.[2]

Botany pots

Botany Pots gets colored variants made from Dyenamics terracotta, glazed terracotta and concrete. Examples are Amber Botany Pot and Aquamarine Concrete Botany Pot. Each material also has a hopper version, such as Amber Glazed Hopper Botany Pot.[2]
