What is Dyenamics and Friends?

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Dyenamics and Friends is part of the pack. This version of the pack ships version 1.21.1-2.2.2 of the mod. It has been in the pack since version 2.47 or earlier, so it's a long-standing part of the mod list rather than a recent addition.[1]

Unverified The sources I have don't describe what the mod adds, who it's aimed at, or where it fits into the pack's progression. I've left those details out rather than guess. No quest or ATM Star path connection is confirmed either.

How do you get started with Dyenamics and Friends?

4 parts

Dyenamics and Friends adds Dyenamics-coloured versions of blocks from other mods in this pack: seats, elevators, kitchen floors, petrified honey, connecting glass and foundry parts. So your first steps are about picking a colour and turning it into the blocks you actually want.[2]

Every recipe for this mod in the recipe dump is marked as added by the pack, so the recipe blocks below show the exact in-pack versions. The order below is a suggestion, not a required path.[2]

Suggested order

  1. Pick a Dyenamics colour first. The recipes ask for either that colour's dye or its Dyenamics wool, for example amber or aquamarine.[2]
  2. Make a coloured seat. One recipe is shapeless and uses the coloured wool plus a wooden slab. A second recipe recolours a Create seat you already have.[2]
  3. Try the elevator. The amber and aquamarine elevators are shaped recipes that start from the matching coloured wool.[2]
  4. Dress up your kitchen with a coloured floor. It starts from the plain white Cooking for Blockheads kitchen floor.[2]
  5. Make connecting stained glass. You can start from the matching Dyenamics stained glass, or dye plain connecting glass.[2]
  6. Once you have a foundry, recolour its parts. Fire bricks, capacitors, controllers, drains, tanks and windows each have a dye recipe.[2]

Foundry parts

The foundry recipes take a dye plus an existing part from the matching foundry group, so you recolour parts instead of building them from scratch. Amber and aquamarine versions exist for fire bricks, capacitors, controllers, drains, tanks and windows.[2]

Amber Foundry TankAdded by the pack

Crafting Shapeless

  • any foundry tank

Gives the Amber Foundry Tank. The other foundry parts follow the same dye pattern.

Tip: The connecting glass recipes cover amber, aquamarine, bubblegum and cherenkov, and the same pattern repeats for each colour. Look up the colour you want in the recipe viewer.[2]

The mod also has painted planks, slabs and stairs in Dyenamics colours, and a chalk box whose tooltip says it works with Dyenamics dyes.[3]

How does Dyenamics and Friends work?

3 parts

In this pack, Dyenamics and Friends is a set of colored variants of blocks from other mods. The sources show no machines, power or fluid handling for it, so the mechanics you'll use are crafting recipes. The recipes shown here are Amber and Aquamarine, and every one of them is added by the pack.[2]

Foundry blocks (Productive Metalworks)

You can get colored versions of the foundry parts: the Amber Foundry Controller, Amber Foundry Tank, Amber Foundry Drain, Amber Foundry Window and Amber Foundry Capacitor. Aquamarine versions exist for each of these too. Each is a shapeless recipe that turns the matching plain foundry part into the colored one using a dye, so you don't build a separate foundry for it.[2]

The other foundry parts follow the same pattern with their own part tags.

Amber Fire Bricks have a shaped recipe and a shapeless single-item recipe, and both use a dye with a fire brick.[2]

Create seats, elevators and kitchen floors

The Amber Seat has a recipe to craft it new and a separate recipe to recolor an existing Create seat with a dye. That's handy if you already have seats placed or in storage.[2]

Regions Unexplored painted wood and the chalk box

The mod also has painted planks, stairs and slabs for Regions Unexplored wood in colors such as Amber, Aquamarine, Bubblegum, Lavender and Ultramarine, along with a resource pack named for the Regions Unexplored support. Not every color lists every shape in the language file, since Amber and Honey show no slab entry, so don't assume every combination exists. The sources here don't show how these painted blocks are crafted.[3]

There is also a chalk box item whose tooltip says it works with Dyenamics dyes. The sources don't explain how the chalk box is used.[3]

Tip: The recipes call for dye tags, so any dye in the matching amber or aquamarine dye tag works. The foundry recipes likewise accept any item in the matching foundry part tag as the base.[2]

How do you progress through Dyenamics and Friends?

2 parts

Dyenamics and Friends has no tier ladder in this pack. Every recipe shown in the sources is a single crafting step that recolors a block from another mod, so there is no early, mid or late game to work through. You can make each one as soon as you have the base block and the matching Dyenamics color.[2]

Unverified The sources here do not show any quest chapter that covers this mod, so there is no quest order to point you to. Check the pack's quest book yourself if you want to see whether it mentions these blocks.

How the recipes work

Every recipe shown for this mod was added by the pack. Only part of the recipe list was available, so the examples here cover Amber, Aquamarine and the connecting glass colors.[2]

Connecting glass

The pack adds connecting stained glass and panes in colors such as Amber, Aquamarine, Bubblegum, Cherenkov, Conifer, Fluorescent and Honey. You have two ways to get a connecting block. You can convert the matching Dyenamics stained glass, or you can dye plain Connecting Glass. Panes work the same way, and you can also craft a pane from the connecting glass block of the same color.[2]

Tip: Because these recipes only recolor blocks you already have, you can pick them up whenever you reach the base mod's blocks. Nothing in the recipes shown here gates the rest of your progression.[2]

How does Dyenamics and Friends work with other mods?

5 parts

Dyenamics and Friends is the glue between the extra Dyenamics colours and other mods in this pack. Every connection in the recipe data is a crafting recipe that the pack itself adds, and each one gives you a Dyenamics-coloured version of an item from another mod.[2]

Tip: All the recipes on this page are marked as added by the pack, so these exact crafting routes are the pack's own.[2]

Coloured elevators

The pack adds a shaped recipe for the Amber Elevator and another for the Aquamarine Elevator. Both also use an Ender Pearl. The Amber one is shown below.[2]

Coloured seats

Coloured kitchen floors

The Kitchen Floor gets Dyenamics colours too, as the Amber Kitchen Floor and the Aquamarine Kitchen Floor. The recipe accepts any dye from the matching colour tag, so it isn't tied to one specific dye item.[2]

Connecting stained glass

This is the biggest integration. Dyenamics colours get connecting versions of glass and glass panes, such as Connecting Amber Stained Glass and Connecting Amber Stained Glass Pane. The recipes exist for Amber, Aquamarine, Bubblegum, Cherenkov, Conifer, Fluorescent, Honey, Icy Blue, Lavender, Maroon, Mint, Navy, Peach, Persimmon, Rose and Spring Green, plus a pane for Ultramarine.[2]

Each connecting glass block and pane has two recipes. In the first, you convert the matching Dyenamics stained glass (or pane) directly. In the second, you dye plain Connecting Glass (or Connecting Glass Pane) with any dye of that colour. Amber shows both routes below.[2]

Ultramarine is the odd one out: only a pane recipe is listed, converting Ultramarine Stained Glass Pane into Connecting Ultramarine Stained Glass Pane.[2]
