What is Draconic Evolution?

2 parts

Draconic Evolution is the pack's end-game tech mod. It adds high-tier tools and armor, very large energy storage (RF), and some extra features like teleportation, mob farming, player detection, and time and weather control. If you want powerful gear and a serious power bank, this is the mod for you.[1]

One heads-up: the mod's own project page says its description is ancient and needs updating. Use the pack's quest chapter as your main guide instead. This pack ships Draconic Evolution 3.1.3.625, and the mod has been here since 1.0 or earlier.[1][2]

Where you start

The first quest, "Draconic Evolution" quest, asks you to collect Draconium Dust. You get it by mining Draconic Ore, which spawns in all vanilla dimensions, with the most in the End.[3]

What you'll work with

Unverified Whether this mod sits on the ATM Star path, and exactly where it falls in the pack's overall progression, is not confirmed by the sources I have.

How do you get started with Draconic Evolution?

5 parts

Draconic Evolution is a high-tier tech mod, and in this pack it comes with its own quest chapter to guide you. Here is the order I'd go in: get Draconium Dust, turn it into a Draconium Core, set up fusion crafting, build your first Energy Core, and then look at modules.[1][3]

Get Draconium Dust

The first quest, "Draconic Evolution" quest, asks you for Draconium Dust. You mine it from Draconic Ore, which spawns in all the vanilla dimensions, with the most in the End.[3]

The pack also adds Ex Deorum sieve recipes that give you dust from crushed end stone, using either a diamond mesh or a netherite mesh. That is handy if you don't want to go mining.[4]

Craft a Draconium Core

Next up is the Draconium Core, covered by the quest "Basic (Draconium) Core" quest, which comes right after the first quest. It calls the core a vital ingredient in many Draconic Evolution recipes, especially Basic Tier items, and you'll see it in a lot of the recipes below.[3][4]

Set up fusion crafting

The Fusion Crafting Core and the Draconium Fusion Crafting Injector are your entry into fusion crafting, so they're worth having early.[4]

Build your first Energy Core

Draconic Evolution items run on energy, which the quests call OP. The Energy Core is the heart of the mod's big energy storage multiblock. Place it a bit off the ground and open its GUI. There you'll find Build Guide, Tier Down, Tier Up and Assemble Core. If you have all the blocks, Assemble Core builds the structure for you.[3]

Tier 1 needs only the core and 4 Energy Core Stabilizer blocks, and the quest lists it as storing 45,500,000 RF. Stabilizers placed too close to the core or in the wrong spots will be reported as incorrect, so use the Build Guide.[3]

To get energy in and out, you need Energy Pylon blocks: one for input and one for output, though you can use more. Place them near the core, then put glass over them and they assemble automatically, targeting the closest Energy Core. Right-click the formed ball on top to switch it between input and output, then attach crystals to move energy.[3]

Tip: You can open the core's GUI through any of its stabilizers, which is handy once the multiblock is surrounded by other blocks.[3]

Meet modules

Draconic Evolution items don't work without modules. Hold an item and press Shift and C to open the Module Menu. The slots are where modules go, and the grid decides how many fit. A module marked 1x1 takes one slot, while a 2x2 takes four. Most modules are made from a Module Core or from a previous module.[3]

The Basic Energy Module (Energy Module) is the most important one. The quest says energy modules are needed to use these items, and that they set how much energy an item can hold and take in. Higher-tier energy modules raise that capacity, which matters because upgraded items use more energy per use.[3]

How does Draconic Evolution work?

7 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 2.0.4 guide

Draconic Evolution is described as an end game tech mod with high-tier energy storage (RF), teleportation, mob farming (spawning and killing), player detection, and time and weather control. This page covers the systems the pack's sources actually explain. The sources give no in-jar guidebook and no config files for this mod, so some numbers (RF capacities, transfer rates, tier sizes) are not covered here.[1][5]

Energy Core

The Energy Core is the mod's big RF storage multiblock. Its screen is titled "Tier %s Energy Core" and has Assemble Core, Activate and Deactivate buttons, plus Tier Up and Tier Down. A Toggle Build Guide button shows you where the blocks go.[5]

If the build is wrong, the screen tells you. "Core structure invalid" means the shape is off. "Stabilizer configuration invalid" means the Wyvern Energy Controller-style controller can't use your stabilizer layout. Some setups show "(Advanced stabilizers required)", but the sources don't say which tiers need them. Stabilizers are their own block, the Energy Core Stabilizer.[5][6]

The screen also has an Energy Target field. It is for display purposes only, so it won't limit or change how the core charges. You can type a plain number or scientific notation: the screen's own example is 9.223E18, which becomes 9,223,000,000,000,000,000.[5]

The controllers come in three tiers: Wyvern Energy Controller, Draconic Energy Controller and Chaotic Energy Controller. Each step up is crafted from the one below, plus a higher-tier core.[6]

Moving energy around

The mod has an energy network built from crystals. There are Energy Relay Crystals, Energy I/O Crystals and Wireless Energy Crystals, each in Basic, Wyvern and Draconic versions. Energy Pylons and the Energy Transfuser are also part of the energy gear.[5]

The tool messages show how linking works: you link devices, can clear links or clear receivers, and the HUD shows Charge and Links. The full linking steps are cut off in the sources, so check them in-game.[5]

The Basic Wireless Energy Crystal is built from a Basic Relay Crystal, so you step up from relay to wireless.[6]

Fusion crafting

Many high-tier items use the mod's own recipe type, fusion crafting. It uses a Fusion Crafting Core with Fusion Crafting Injectors around it. The injectors come in four tiers: Draconium, Wyvern, Draconic and Chaotic.[5][6]

Fusion recipes in the pack include the Draconic Core, the Awakened Draconium Block and the Chaotic Fusion Crafting Injector. The Chaotic injector is crafted from the Draconic one, so you upgrade your injectors rather than starting over.[6]

Fusion Crafting (draconicevolution)

Recipe id: draconicevolution:machines/chaotic_crafting_injector

The pack also adds a shapeless recipe that turns a Draconic Fusion Crafting Injector into a Draconic Fusion Crafting Injector. Its purpose isn't stated in the sources.[6]

Materials

In this pack, Draconium Dust can be sieved from Crushed End Stone using a Diamond Mesh in Ex Deorum. This recipe was added by the pack. Awakened dust smelts into an Awakened Draconium Ingot.[6]

Storage blocks of awakened draconium decompress into 9 ingots each. A Chaos Shard breaks down into 9 Large Chaos Fragment.[6]

Utility machines

The Celestial Manipulator controls time and weather. Its screen offers Clear Skies, Create Rain and Create Storm. For time it can skip 24 hours, skip to Sunrise, Noon, Sunset, Moonrise, Midnight or Moonset, and stop skipping.[5]

The Draconium Chest has a built-in furnace with four Auto-Smelt modes. Off does nothing. All feeds every smeltable item into the furnace. Filtered only feeds items that are already being smelted. Filtered (Sticky) works like Filtered but keeps one item so the filter persists. You can also change the chest's colour.[5]

The Disenchanter screen shows the level of the enchant and its XP cost in levels.[5]

Teleportation

The Dislocator uses Ender Pearls as teleport fuel, and the fuel counter shows the total number of teleports remaining. You can add 1, 16 or all the pearls from your inventory. To bind a location, sneak and right click: it saves your current X, Y, Z, the direction you face and your dimension.[5]

Right click either teleports you to the selected location or blinks, and you can switch between the two modes. You can also configure keybindings. A location list lets you add, rename (double left click), drag to reorder, delete and lock entries, or update one with "Set Here". Editing needs the list unlocked.[5]

Not covered by the sources

The Draconic Reactor Core, Reactor Energy Injector and Reactor Stabilizer exist as blocks, and so do the Stabilized Mob Spawner and Mob Grinder. The sources I have don't explain how they work, so check them in-game.[5]

How do you progress through Draconic Evolution?

7 parts

Draconic Evolution in this pack is a ladder with four tiers: Draconium (the quests call it Basic), Wyvern, Draconic and Chaotic. The pack's quest chapter walks you up that ladder, and every step uses the in-pack recipes shown below.[3]

Getting started

The first quest, "Draconic Evolution" quest, asks you for 6 Draconium Dust. The quest says Draconic Ore spawns in all vanilla dimensions, with the most in the End.[3]

This pack also adds sieve recipes that give Draconium Dust from Crushed End Stone, using either a Diamond Mesh or a Netherite Mesh. That's a pack addition, not something you get from the mod alone.[4]

Basic tier and Fusion Crafting

"Basic (Draconium) Core" quest points you at the Draconium Core, a vital ingredient in many recipes, especially Basic tier items.[3]

"Basic Tier" quest explains that the injector you use sets the fusion tier. Injectors go to the left and right of the core, a few blocks away, in a cross shape with a max of 5 on each side.[3]

The injector ladder

In this pack the Draconium injector is a normal crafting recipe. The Wyvern, Draconic and Chaotic injectors are all fusion crafting recipes.[4]

Power: OP, crystals and the Energy Core

Draconic Evolution runs on OP. "What is Energy or as we call it, OP?" quest gives you the Crystal Binder, and the main way to move OP is with I/O relay crystals. To put OP into items you need an Energy Transfuser, covered in "Adding OP to items" quest. The item needs an Energy Module installed first.[3]

Tip: Pylons carry OP in and out of the core. Per "Power comes and goes through these" quest, place at least two, one for input and one for output, put glass over them, then right-click the formed balls to switch between input and output.[3]

Modules across the tiers

"Modules!" quest says the items don't work without modules. Hold an item and press Shift+C to open the Module Menu. Most modules come from a Module Core or from the previous module. The quests follow that ladder, for example Basic Energy Module, then Wyvern Energy Module.[3]

The Energy Module matters most: it sets how much OP an item can hold and take in, and it is needed to use DE items.[3]

Draconic and Chaotic cores

Higher tiers are gated by cores, and both of these are made by fusion crafting.[4]

How does Draconic Evolution work with other mods?

5 parts

Draconic Evolution is an endgame mod, so in this pack a lot of its biggest items are tied to other mods. Here are the in-pack recipes that connect it with other mods. Each recipe below is shown exactly as the pack has it.[4]

Powah: creative energy

The pack adds Powah energizing recipes that give you creative energy blocks. One makes the Creative Capacitor and the other makes the Creative Power Source. Both use the ATM Star and the Dragon Heart. They are not default Draconic Evolution recipes.[4]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Draconic Evolution?

    6 parts

Draconic Evolution has its own quest chapter in the pack, and most of it is a guided tour of the mod. It runs from your first dust to the Chaos Guardian fight. The tasks are all item submissions.[3]

    Getting started

    1. "Draconic Evolution" quest is the entry point. It asks for 6 Draconium Dust, and the quest text says the ore spawns in all vanilla dimensions, with the most in the End.[3]
    2. "Basic (Draconium) Core" quest comes next and asks for a Draconium Core. The quest calls it a vital ingredient, especially for Basic Tier items.[3]
    3. "Modules!" quest asks for a Module Core. It explains that DE items don't work without modules, and that you open the Module Menu by holding an item and pressing Shift and C.[3]

    Fusion crafting

"Fusion Crafting" quest unlocks after the Draconium Core quest and asks for a Fusion Crafting Core. "Basic Tier" quest follows it and asks for a Draconium Fusion Crafting Injector. It explains that injector tier sets the fusion tier, in the order Draconium, Wyvern, Draconic, Chaotic. Two Basic Tier quests open after it: "Draconium Chest" quest for the Draconium Chest and "Basic Energy Relay Crystal" quest for the Basic Energy Relay Crystal.[3]

    Moving and storing OP

The mod's energy is called OP in these quests. "What is Energy or as we call it, OP?" quest also unlocks after the Draconium Core quest and asks for a Crystal Binder. Two quests branch from it. "Adding OP to items" quest asks for an Energy Transfuser to charge items. "Moving OP" quest accepts a Basic, Wyvern or Draconic I/O crystal and explains linking them with the Crystal Binder.[3]

    Energy Core tiers

The Energy Core line starts with "Energy Core Mulitblock" quest, which asks for the Energy Core. Two quests unlock after it. "Energy Core Stabilizers" quest asks for an Energy Core Stabilizer, and "Power comes and goes through these" quest asks for an Energy Pylon. The tier quests then run in order:[3]

    • "Tier 1" quest stores 45,500,000 RF and needs only the core and 4 stabilizers. It unlocks after the three quests above.[3]
    • "Tier 2" quest stores 273,000,000 RF. It needs 6 Draconium Block, one on each side of the core, plus the 4 stabilizers.[3]
    • "Tier 3" quest stores 1,640,000,000 RF. It needs 26 Draconium blocks fully encasing the core.[3]
    • "Tier 4" quest stores 9,880,000,000 RF. It needs 26 Redstone Blocks encasing the core, then 56 Draconium blocks above them.[3]

Quests for Tier 5 to Tier 8 exist in the chapter ("Tier 5" quest, "Tier 6" quest, "Tier 7" quest, "Tier 8" quest), but their requirements were cut off in the material I have.[3]

    Module quests

Most of the chapter is module quests, and they upgrade in a chain. Basic modules and the Wyvern modules open after Modules!, and each upgrade requires the previous one. For example, "Basic Damage Module" quest leads to "Wyvern Damage Module" quest, then "Draconic Damage Module" quest, then "Chaotic Damage Module" quest. The Energy module line follows the same pattern, starting at "Basic Energy Module" quest.[3]

The Undying line is gated by shield quests as well. "Wyvern Undying Module" quest needs Modules! and "Wyvern Shield Capacity Module" quest. "Draconic Undying Module" quest needs the Wyvern Undying quest and "Draconic Shield Capacity Module" quest. "Chaotic Undying Module" quest needs the Draconic Undying quest and "Chaotic Shield Capacity Module" quest.[3]

Some modules only appear at one level. "Quantum Energy Tunnel" quest follows the Wireless Energy Link quest and notes that better links work across dimensions, as long as the other side is chunkloaded. It leads on to "Chaos-Entangled Quantum Energy Tunnel" quest. "Projectile Immunity Cancellation Module" quest only needs Modules!.[3]

    The Chaos Guardian

"Locate and Destroy 14 Guardian Crystals" quest asks for Draconium Infused Obsidian and unlocks after a quest called Where is he?. It explains that the Guardian's shield crystals must be destroyed before you can hurt him. "Chaos Shard{s}" quest unlocks after a quest called Kill the Chaos Guardian and asks for 5 Chaos Shard. You get them by mining below where lightning strikes after he is defeated.[3]

Unverified The chapter also lists quests for Wyvern, Draconic and Chaotic tools, armor, capacitors, relay crystals, Awakened Draconium and the Draconic Reactor. Their tasks and ordering were cut off in the available material, so they aren't described here. Another quest named Draconic Evolution appears in the chapter Chapter 2: The Cool Parts, but its contents weren't available either.

What changed in Draconic Evolution between versions?
