What is Apothic Enchanting?
1 part
This pack includes Apothic Enchanting version 1.4.4. The mod adds a whole family of enchanting blocks and items: bookshelf variants like the Hellshelf and Seashelf, the Enchantment Library and Library of Alexandria, and a set of tomes such as the Tome of Scrapping.[1][2]
The pack's quest book gives the mod its own chapter, called "apothic_enchanting", with 44 quests. Two quests have no prerequisite inside the chapter: a quest in "?" (the enchanting table) and a quest in "?" (the Enchantment Library). The lapis lazuli and book quests act as hubs, and many of the other quests come after them.[2]
How the chapter flows
- Hellshelf branch: a quest in "?" asks for 5 Infused Hellshelf and leads to a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?".[2]
- Seashelf branch: a quest in "?" leads to a quest in "?", a quest in "?" and a quest in "?".[2]
- Deepshelf: a quest in "?" comes after the Glowing Hellshelf and Crystalline Seashelf quests. It then splits into a quest in "?" and a quest in "?", followed by a quest in "?" and a quest in "?".[2]
- Endshelf line: a quest in "?" comes after the two sculkshelf quests and the Geode-Encased Bookshelf quest. It leads to a quest in "?", then a quest in "?" and a quest in "?". A second a quest in "?" quest closes the line and asks for 4 Soul-Touched Sculkshelves, 4 Echoing Sculkshelves, a Draconic Endshelf, a Geode-Encased Bookshelf and a Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures.[2]
- Tomes: the book quest leads to a quest in "?", plus quests for the armor, weapon and bow, pickaxe and fishing, and other tomes. a quest in "?" and then a quest in "?" follow the scrapping quest.[2]
- Libraries: a quest in "?" comes after the Enchantment Library quest and the lapis lazuli quest.[2]
Unverified Whether the ATM Star path uses this chapter is not shown by the sources here. That detail lives in the pack's quest book, so check there.
How do you get started with Apothic Enchanting?
5 parts
Welcome in! Apothic Enchanting is mostly about building better enchanting setups, and the pack's quest book walks you through it in a clear order. The chapter opens with the Enchanting Table quest a quest in "?", and the mod's own advancement for that step reads "Obtain an enchanting table, and begin to unveil the mystery."[2][3]
Step 1: Hellshelf and Seashelf
The first shelf quests ask for a Hellshelf a quest in "?" and a Seashelf a quest in "?". Both have crafting recipes in the pack, and the infused versions later in the chapter are made from these plain shelves, so make these first. Here are the in-pack recipes.[2][4]

The Beeshelf, Stoneshelf and Melonshelf are asked for together in one quest a quest in "?", which comes after the Seashelf and Hellshelf quests.[2][4]
Step 2: Infuse them
Next the quest book wants infused versions. The mod's advancement text says you get an Infused Hellshelf "through Infusion Enchanting", and the same goes for the Infused Seashelf. Both of these are infusion recipes that take the plain shelf as their input.[2][3][4]

Step 3: Your Enchantment Library
The Enchantment Library has its own quest a quest in "?". Once you have it, the Library of Alexandria quest a quest in "?" comes after it, and it also needs the lapis lazuli quest done. The upgrade is an infusion recipe that starts from the Enchantment Library.[2][4]

Step 4: Tomes
After the book quest a quest in "?", the chapter opens up the tomes. The first is the Tome of Scrapping a quest in "?". Then comes Tome of Superior Scrapping a quest in "?", which is made by infusing the scrapping tome, and after that the Tome of Extraction a quest in "?".[2][4]
Where to go from here
Once you have infused shelves, the quest book branches. The Infused Hellshelf leads to the Glowing Hellshelf, Blazing Hellshelf and Hellshelf of Sight. The Infused Seashelf leads to the Crystalline Seashelf, Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration and Heart-Forged Seashelf. The Deepshelf quest a quest in "?" comes after the Glowing Hellshelf and Crystalline Seashelf quests, and the mod has an advancement for activating a Dormant Deepshelf.[2][3]
How does Apothic Enchanting work?
7 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 7.0 guide
Apothic Enchanting is built around the enchanting table, not around machines. The mod's tooltips describe a stat system, a set of bookshelf blocks that feed it, and a few storage and extraction tools. Here is how those pieces work.[5]
Raising the level cap
Enchanting tables can now exceed 30 levels, and some enchantments only show up past level 30. The mod has advancements for enchanting at levels 30, 60, 80 and 100, so the high end is meant to be reachable.[5]
The three stats
The enchanting screen shows three stats, and the bookshelves around the table push them up.[5]
- Eterna sets the max enchanting level. The screen shows your current value against the maximum.[5]
- Arcana makes rare enchantments more common and increases the number of enchantments you get.[5]
- Quanta increases the underlying randomness. The screen also says it lessens the negative effects.[5]
Some shelves are tagged as providing Quantic Stability. There are advancements for enchanting at 0%, 50% and 100% Quanta, and for hitting max Eterna and Arcana with 0% Quanta.[5]
Shelves
The shelves form upgrade chains. The basic ones are the Hellshelf, the Beeshelf and the Melonshelf, and the higher tiers are built from the tier below. Here is the Beeshelf recipe as an example.[6]

- Nether line: the Infused Hellshelf comes from Infusion Enchanting, and it then upgrades into the Blazing Hellshelf or the Glowing Hellshelf.[5][6]
- Sea line: the Infused Seashelf also comes from Infusion Enchanting. It upgrades into the Crystalline Seashelf, the Heart-Forged Seashelf or the Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration.[5][6]
- End line: you need Infused Dragon's Breath to make the Endshelf. The Endshelf then upgrades into the Draconic Endshelf or the Pearlescent Endshelf.[5][6]
- Deep line: the Dormant Deepshelf has to be activated, and it becomes the Deepshelf. That upgrades into the Echoing Deepshelf, which in turn goes into the Echoing Sculkshelf using a Warden Tendril.[5][6]

Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration
You insert enchanted books into the Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration to stop those enchantments from appearing in the table. It also gains Eterna and Arcana based on how many books you put in. That makes it a good way to cut out enchantments you don't want.[5][6]

Enchantment Library
The Enchantment Library stores enchantments. Insert an enchanted book to deposit it. Left-click a stored enchantment to take out one level, or shift-click to take the max level available.[5][6]
Tooltips on the library show how many enchantments it stores, the points stored against its capacity, and the max level available. They also warn you when the next level is unavailable.[5]

Tomes
The type tomes each accept one category of enchantments. These are the Tome of Helmets, Tome of Chestplates, Tome of Legplates, Tome of Boots, Tome of the Miners, Tome of the Fishers, Tome of the Archers and Tome of the Others. The Other tome covers miscellaneous enchantments.[5][6]
The Tome of Scrapping extracts half of the enchantments from an item and destroys the item in the process.[5][6]
The mod's text also describes an improved scrap tome that extracts all enchantments and destroys the item. It describes an extraction tome that extracts all enchantments without destroying the item. You can also build an Altar of the Seas, which turns unwanted enchanted items into a new book.[5]
Utility items
The Prismatic Cobweb can be used to remove curses.[5][6]
Ender leads capture and move entities. The Flimsy Ender Lead only handles animals. The full Ender Lead handles most entities, and the Occult Ender Lead can also bind them to Mob Spawners. The pack changed the Flimsy Ender Lead recipe from the mod's version, so use the one below.[5][6]

How do you progress through Apothic Enchanting?
7 parts
This pack gives the mod its own quest chapter. It opens with a quest for the Enchanting Table and one for the Enchantment Library, then branches into shelves, tomes and a few extras. Here is each branch in order.[2]
Hellshelf line (Nether)
The first shelf line starts with the Hellshelf. Infusing it gives the Infused Hellshelf, and the quest for that one asks for 5 of them. Three upgrades come after it in the quest book: Blazing Hellshelf, Glowing Hellshelf and Hellshelf of Sight.[2][4]

Seashelf line (ocean)
The ocean line mirrors the Nether one: you start from the Seashelf and move up to the Infused Seashelf. In the quest book, the Infused Seashelf quest comes before three upgrades: Crystalline Seashelf, Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration and Heart-Forged Seashelf.[2][4]

The quest book then branches in two. The Echoing Deepshelf leads to the Echoing Sculkshelf. The Soul-Touched Deepshelf leads to the Soul-Touched Sculkshelf. Both sculkshelf recipes use a Warden Tendril.[2][4]
Endshelf line (the End)
In the quest book, the Infused Dragon's Breath quest comes after the Echoing Sculkshelf, Soul-Touched Sculkshelf and Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability quests. The Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability is a side branch that hangs off the early part of the chapter.[2]
