What is Apothic Enchanting?
2 parts
This pack includes Apothic Enchanting at version 1.5.2. The quest book's opening text says enchanting gets changes: 15 bookshelves won't be enough anymore, and there are new bookshelves and new actions you can do with an Enchanting Table.[1][2]
The pack's quest book covers the mod in a chapter called "Apothic Enchanting", which has 47 quests. It opens with "Apothic Enchanting" quest, which asks you for an Enchanting Table. Only part of the chapter's quest text is available to this guide, so check the quest book itself for the rest.[2]
What the chapter's quests describe
- Shelves: the quest text says Hellshelf gives 3% Quanta and 3 Eterna, and Seashelf gives 3% Arcana and 3 Eterna. The quests then ask you to infuse them into Infused Hellshelf and Infused Seashelf, which the quest text describes as giving 5 Eterna each, with a max of 60.[2]
- Tomes: the quests describe armor, tool, weapon and other tomes that target particular enchantments. The scrapping quests describe Tome of Scrapping as taking half the enchantments off an item and breaking it, Tome of Superior Scrapping as taking all of them and breaking it, and Tome of Extraction as taking all of them and leaving the item intact.[2]
- Libraries: the quest text says the Enchantment Library stores each enchanted book up to 32,768 points, and that the Library of Alexandria holds 1.1 Billion points of each book.[2]
- Ender Leads for picking up mobs: the quests describe Flimsy Ender Lead as holding only animals and breaking after 8 uses, Ender Lead as also holding hostile mobs and breaking after 64 uses, and Occult Ender Lead as unbreakable and able to bind mobs to Spawners.[2]
How the quests are ordered
In the quest book, the shelf quests such as "Hellshelves" quest and "Seashelves" quest are listed as coming after a quest called Infusing. "Infused Hellshelves" quest is listed after the Hellshelves quest, and "Infused Seashelf" quest after the Seashelves quest. The tome quests are listed after one called Tomes.[2]
Further along, the quest book lists "Library of Alexandria" quest after the "Enchantment Library" quest and Other Infusion Items quests. The three Ender Lead quests are listed in a chain from "Flimsy Ender Lead" quest to "Ender Lead" quest to "Occult Ender Lead" quest. The scrapping quests chain from "Tome of Scrapping" quest to "Tome of Superior Scrapping" quest to a quest in "Apothic Enchanting".[2]
How do you get started with Apothic Enchanting?
4 parts
Apothic Enchanting changes how the Enchanting Table works in this pack. The chapter's opening quest starts at the Enchanting Table and says that 15 Bookshelves won't be enough now. As the quest book currently lays it out, new Bookshelves and new table actions take over, and the steps below follow the order the quests give.[2]
For now, the first thing the quest book wants you to know is in "Vanilla Max is just the start" quest: with only normal Bookshelves, Eterna can only reach a max of 30. The next quest, "Infusing" quest, explains Infusion, a special version of enchanting. It says that when the right amount of Eterna, Quanta and Arcana is reached, the enchantments will offer Infusion.[2]
Step 1: Make Hellshelves or Seashelves
The quest book points you to the Hellshelf and the Seashelf first. Per the quests, the Hellshelf is your introduction to Quanta and gives 3% Quanta and 3 Eterna, while the Seashelf is your introduction to Arcana and gives 3% Arcana and 3 Eterna. For now, the quests ask you to collect 11 of either one and then give you the last 5 as a reward, so you end up with 16: 15 around the Enchanting Table and 1 to infuse. See "Hellshelves" quest and "Seashelves" quest.[2]

Step 2: Infuse one shelf
The Hellshelf quest says that 15 Hellshelves around the table give 45 Eterna and 30% Quanta, which it calls the perfect amount to infuse the last one. According to the quests, an Infused Hellshelf gives 5 Eterna with a max of 60, plus 5% Quanta. The Infused Seashelf likewise gives 5 Eterna with a max of 60, plus 5% Arcana. The quests also say infused shelves can be crafted with other items into different bookshelves. See "Infused Hellshelves" quest and "Infused Seashelf" quest.[2]

Step 3: Upgrade them into the shelves you need
The quests ask for 12 upgraded shelves for the next stage. They describe the Glowing Hellshelf as keeping the same Eterna and Quanta while giving 3% Arcana. The Crystalline Seashelf is described as keeping 5 Eterna and 5% Arcana and adding 3% Quanta. For now, the quest book lets you pick either side, since 12 of either works for the next step. See "Glowing Hellshelf" quest and "Crystalline Seashelf" quest.[2]

Step 4: Your first Deepshelf
This is where the Hellshelf and Seashelf paths meet, in "Deepshelf" quest. Craft a Dormant Deepshelf, then infuse it into a Deepshelf. The quest asks for 60 Eterna, 40% Quanta and 40% Arcana, which it says 12 Crystalline Seashelves or 12 Glowing Hellshelves can provide.[2]

After the Deepshelf, the chapter branches into the Echoing and Soul-Touched upgrades, then Infused Dragon's Breath and the Endshelves. For now, it ends at "Best Enchanting set-up" quest, the quest book's full max-stat setup. Work through them in quest order.[2]
How does Apothic Enchanting work?
7 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 7.0 guide
Apothic Enchanting is built around the enchanting table, not around machines. The mod's tooltips describe a stat system, a set of bookshelf blocks that feed it, and a few storage and extraction tools. Here is how those pieces work.[3]
Raising the level cap
Enchanting tables can now exceed 30 levels, and some enchantments only show up past level 30. The mod has advancements for enchanting at levels 30, 60, 80 and 100, so the high end is meant to be reachable.[3]
The three stats
The enchanting screen shows three stats, and the bookshelves around the table push them up.[3]
- Eterna sets the max enchanting level. The screen shows your current value against the maximum.[3]
- Arcana makes rare enchantments more common and increases the number of enchantments you get.[3]
- Quanta increases the underlying randomness. The screen also says it lessens the negative effects.[3]
Some shelves are tagged as providing Quantic Stability. There are advancements for enchanting at 0%, 50% and 100% Quanta, and for hitting max Eterna and Arcana with 0% Quanta.[3]
Shelves
The shelves form upgrade chains. The basic ones are the Hellshelf, the Beeshelf and the Melonshelf, and the higher tiers are built from the tier below. Here is the Beeshelf recipe as an example.[4]

- Nether line: the Infused Hellshelf comes from Infusion Enchanting, and it then upgrades into the Blazing Hellshelf or the Glowing Hellshelf.[3][4]
- Sea line: the Infused Seashelf also comes from Infusion Enchanting. It upgrades into the Crystalline Seashelf, the Heart-Forged Seashelf or the Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration.[3][4]
- End line: you need Infused Dragon's Breath to make the Endshelf. The Endshelf then upgrades into the Draconic Endshelf or the Pearlescent Endshelf.[3][4]
- Deep line: the Dormant Deepshelf has to be activated, and it becomes the Deepshelf. That upgrades into the Echoing Deepshelf, which in turn goes into the Echoing Sculkshelf using a Warden Tendril.[3][4]

Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration
You insert enchanted books into the Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration to stop those enchantments from appearing in the table. It also gains Eterna and Arcana based on how many books you put in. That makes it a good way to cut out enchantments you don't want.[3][4]

Enchantment Library
The Enchantment Library stores enchantments. Insert an enchanted book to deposit it. Left-click a stored enchantment to take out one level, or shift-click to take the max level available.[3][4]
Tooltips on the library show how many enchantments it stores, the points stored against its capacity, and the max level available. They also warn you when the next level is unavailable.[3]

Tomes
The type tomes each accept one category of enchantments. These are the Tome of Helmets, Tome of Chestplates, Tome of Legplates, Tome of Boots, Tome of the Miners, Tome of the Fishers, Tome of the Archers and Tome of the Others. The Other tome covers miscellaneous enchantments.[3][4]
The Tome of Scrapping extracts half of the enchantments from an item and destroys the item in the process.[3][4]
The mod's text also describes an improved scrap tome that extracts all enchantments and destroys the item. It describes an extraction tome that extracts all enchantments without destroying the item. You can also build an Altar of the Seas, which turns unwanted enchanted items into a new book.[3]
Utility items
The Prismatic Cobweb can be used to remove curses.[3][4]
Ender leads capture and move entities. The Flimsy Ender Lead only handles animals. The full Ender Lead handles most entities, and the Occult Ender Lead can also bind them to Mob Spawners. The pack changed the Flimsy Ender Lead recipe from the mod's version, so use the one below.[3][4]

How do you progress through Apothic Enchanting?
8 parts
This is the path the pack's quest book walks you through in its Apothic Enchanting chapter. It opens with "Apothic Enchanting" quest and the enchanting table. Then "Vanilla Max is just the start" quest says bookshelves are only your starting point, and that with normal bookshelves you can only get Eterna up to a max of 30. After that comes "Infusing" quest, which says that once you reach the right amount of Eterna, Quanta and Arcana, enchantments will offer Infusion. The progression is about climbing through better shelves from Apothic Enchanting until those three stats are where you want them.[2]
The three stats
The quest book describes the stats like this. Eterna sets the enchantment level, with a default of 0 and a max of 100. Quanta mixes up the enchantment pool, but the more you have, the more common weaker enchantments get. Its default is 15% and its max is 100%. Arcana increases how many enchantments you get and makes rare ones more common, with a default of 0% and a max of 100%.[2]
Tier 1: Hellshelves and Seashelves
Per the quest book, Hellshelf is your introduction to Quanta, at 3% Quanta and 3 Eterna. Seashelf is the Arcana version, at 3% Arcana and 3 Eterna. The quests ask for 16 of whichever you pick: 15 around the enchanting table and 1 to be infused. They also say they will give you the last 5 once you have made 11.[2]

The quest book says 15 Hellshelves around the table give 45 Eterna and 30% Quanta, which it calls the right amount to infuse. It describes Infused Hellshelf as 5 Eterna with a max of 60 Eterna, plus 5% Quanta. Infused Seashelf is described as 5 Eterna with a max of 60, plus 5% Arcana. The quests ask for 12 of them for the next step, and say you only need to craft 8 before they reward the rest.[2]
Tier 2: Glowing, Crystalline and the Deepshelf
The quests have you craft the infused shelves into specialised ones. Glowing Hellshelf keeps the same Eterna and Quanta but gives 3% Arcana. Crystalline Seashelf keeps 5 Eterna and 5% Arcana and gains 3% Quanta. The quest book points to both as helpful for later infusions.[2]

Tier 3: Echoing and Soul-Touched
The quest book says Echoing Deepshelf gives 15% Arcana and raises the max Eterna to 75. It says Soul-Touched Deepshelf gives 15% Quanta and also raises the max Eterna to 75. The quests point you to Crushed End Stone sieved with a Netherite Mesh for the Echo Shards and Sculk you need.[2]

Tier 4: Dragon's Breath and the Endshelves
Once you have a max Eterna of 80, the quest book has you start infusing Dragon's Breath. Its suggested setup is 4 Echoing Sculkshelves, 4 Soul-Touched Sculkshelves and 6 Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability, which it says gives 80 Eterna, 25% Quanta and 100% Arcana. The quests say the Geode shelf removes the increased chance of worse enchantments, and warn that Budding Amethyst cannot be collected by mining, even with Silk Touch.[2]

The best set-up
"Best Enchanting set-up" quest puts it all together. It asks for 5 Soul-Touched Sculkshelves and 5 Echoing Sculkshelves for Quanta and Arcana, a Draconic Endshelf for 100 Eterna, and a Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability so the Quanta does not backfire. It also suggests adding a Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures, which it says allows enchantments you normally would not get, like Mending.[2]

- Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration blacklists an enchantment: the quest says to place an enchanted book in an empty spot and that enchantment won't show up on items or books.[2]
- Hellshelf of Sight and Hellshelf of Masterful Sight are the Enchanting Clues shelves, and the quest says each clue tells you 1 enchantment before you use it. The pack changed the Masterful Sight recipe from the mod's.[2][5]

Other infusion items
Infusion is not only for shelves. The Ender Lead has three tiers in the quest book. For now, the quest sets other mob-capture tools aside and focuses on the Apotheosis option. It says Flimsy Ender Lead only holds animals and breaks after 8 uses. Ender Lead also holds hostile mobs and breaks after 64 uses, and the quest asks for at least 45 Eterna, 25% Quanta and 40% Arcana to make it. Occult Ender Lead is described as unbreakable and able to bind mobs to Spawners. The quest asks for at least 75 Eterna, 85% Quanta and between 60 and 85% Arcana, and a Witch in the Ender Lead you infuse.[2]

The tomes have their own chain in the quests. Tome of Scrapping takes half the enchantments off an item and breaks it. Infusing it gives Tome of Superior Scrapping, which the quest says takes every enchantment and still breaks the item. Infusing that gives Tome of Extraction, which takes every enchantment and leaves the item alone.[2]

How does Apothic Enchanting work with other mods?
3 parts
In this pack, Apothic Enchanting connects to other mods in two ways: its items feed into two pack recipes, and its quest chapter treats it as part of the Apotheosis enchanting setup. Here is what the sources confirm.[2][5]
Apotheosis
The first quest in the Apothic Enchanting chapter says enchanting gets a few changes with Apotheosis, and that 15 Bookshelves won't be enough anymore. The rest of the chapter walks you through the new shelves and enchanting actions.[2]
The Flimsy Ender Lead quest also points at Apotheosis as the option for picking up mobs. It is the cheapest and weakest variant of Ender Lead, it can only hold animals, and it breaks after 8 uses.[2]
Gateways To Eternity
The recipe for the Gate Pearl from Gateways To Eternity uses two Apothic Enchanting items, the Infused Dragon's Breath and the Warden Tendril, together with several Apotheosis items. The pack changed this recipe, so don't rely on a default version you remember from elsewhere.[5]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Apothic Enchanting?
5 parts
Most of the Apothic Enchanting questing lives in one chapter of the pack's quest book, also called Apothic Enchanting, with 47 quests. A couple of quests in the Apothic Spawners chapter touch the mod too. Here is how the quests are laid out, going by what the quest texts say.[2][6]
The chapter opening
- "Apothic Enchanting" quest asks for an Enchanting Table. Its text says enchanting gets changes with Apotheosis, that 15 bookshelves won't be enough now, and that there are new bookshelves and new actions for Enchantment Tables.[2]
- "Vanilla Max is just the start" quest comes after it. Its text says that with only normal bookshelves, Eterna can only get up to a max of 30.[2]
- "Infusing" quest comes after that. Its text describes Infusion as a special version of enchanting, offered when the right amount of Eterna, Quanta and Arcana is reached.[2]
Nearly every other quest in the chapter comes after Infusing. The quests "Eterna" quest, "Quanta" quest and "Arcana" quest cover Eterna, Quanta and Arcana. "Negative amounts" quest comes after all three and asks for the Beeshelf, Stoneshelf and Melonshelf. Its text says each lowers its respective quantity, for Infusions that need very exact amounts.[2]
The shelf ladder
- Hellshelf line: "Hellshelves" quest asks for the Hellshelf (its text says 3% Quanta and 3 Eterna) and wants you to make the first 11, then gives you the last 5. "Infused Hellshelves" quest follows with the Infused Hellshelf: you need 12 and only have to collect 8. Quests that come after it are "Blazing Hellshelf" quest, "Enchanting Clues" quest and "Glowing Hellshelf" quest.[2]
- Seashelf line: "Seashelves" quest asks for the Seashelf (its text says 3% Arcana and 3 Eterna), again with 11 collected first. "Infused Seashelf" quest asks for the Infused Seashelf. After it come "Crystalline Seashelf" quest, "Remove Enchantments from Pool" quest and "Heart-Forged Seashelf" quest.[2]
- "Deepshelf" quest joins the two lines: it comes after the Glowing Hellshelf and Crystalline Seashelf quests. Its text asks for 60 Eterna, 40% Quanta and 40% Arcana, from 12 Crystalline Seashelves or 12 Glowing Hellshelves.[2]
- Deepshelf upgrades: "Echoing Deepshelf" quest and "Soul-Touched Deepshelf" quest come after the Deepshelf. "Echoing Sculkshelf" quest follows the echoing one and "Soul-Touched Sculkshelf" quest follows the soul-touched one. Both quest texts say the Sculkshelf gives a max Eterna of 80.[2]
- "Infused Dragon's Breath" quest comes after the Echoing Sculkshelf, Soul-Touched Sculkshelf and Negative Enchantments Removal quests. Its text suggests a setup of 4 Echoing Sculkshelves, 4 Soul-Touched Sculkshelves and 6 Geode-Encased Bookshelves of Stability for 80 Eterna, 25% Quanta and 100% Arcana.[2]
- "Endshelves" quest comes next. Its text says the Endshelf's own stats currently aren't the best, only 5 for each, but that its max Eterna is 90. After it, "Draconic Endshelf" quest (max Eterna 100, per its text) and "Pearlescent Endshelf" quest (max Eterna 90) follow.[2]
- "Best Enchanting set-up" quest comes after the Draconic Endshelf quest. It asks for the Soul-Touched Sculkshelf, Echoing Sculkshelf, Draconic Endshelf and Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability, plus the Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures, which its text calls optional.[2]
"Negative Enchantments Removal" quest is a side quest after Infusing. It asks for the Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability, and its text says this shelf gets rid of the increased chance of worse enchantments that comes with higher Quanta.[2]
Tomes
"Tomes" quest opens the tome branch. Its follow-ups are "Armor Tomes" quest, "Tool Tomes" quest, "Weapon Tomes" quest, "ETC. Tomes" quest and "Tome of Scrapping" quest. Scrapping starts a short chain: "Tome of Superior Scrapping" quest comes after Tome of Scrapping, and its text says it takes every enchantment off but still breaks the item. a quest in "Apothic Enchanting" comes after that, and its text says it takes off all enchantments and leaves the item alone. Both of those also come after Other Infusion Items.[2]
Other Infusion Items
"Other Infusion Items" quest is the parent of the remaining Infusion quests:[2]
- "Making Budding Amethyst" quest (Budding Amethyst), "Making a real Trident" quest (Inert Trident), "Crafting EXP?" quest (Bottles O' Enchanting from Honey Bottles), "Infinite Echo Shards?" quest (Echo Shards) and "Unbreakable Charms" quest (unbreakable charms).[2]
- Ender Leads: "Flimsy Ender Lead" quest (its text says it only holds animals and breaks after 8 uses, and sets other mob-catching tools aside for now), then "Ender Lead" quest (hostile mobs too, breaks after 64 uses), then "Occult Ender Lead" quest (unbreakable, can bind mobs to Spawners).[2]
- Libraries: "Enchantment Library" quest asks for the Enchantment Library, and "Library of Alexandria" quest follows with the Library of Alexandria. The quest texts say the Enchantment Library holds 32768 points per book and the Library of Alexandria 1.1 Billion.[2]
Quests in other chapters
In the Apothic Spawners chapter, a quest in "Apothic Spawners" asks for the Occult Ender Lead and sends you to the Apothic Enchanting chapter to learn how to get it. a quest in "Apothic Spawners" asks for an enchanted book and mentions the Capturing enchantment, pointing you to Apothic Enchanting to help find it.[6]
