What is Apothic Enchanting?
1 part
This pack includes Apothic Enchanting version 1.5.0. The quest book gives it its own chapter called "Apothic Enchanting", which lists 47 quests and is where the pack explains the mod's changes to enchanting.[1][2]
The chapter opens with "Apothic Enchanting" quest, which asks you for an Enchanting Table. Its text says enchanting gets a few changes, with new Bookshelves and new actions you can do with Enchantment Tables, and that the chapter's quests are meant to help you understand them.[2]
How the quest chapter is laid out
- Shelves: in the quest book, "Hellshelves" quest and "Seashelves" quest both come after a quest called Infusing. The quest text presents the Hellshelf as your introduction to Quanta and the Seashelf as your introduction to Arcana. "Infused Hellshelves" quest follows the Hellshelves, "Infused Seashelf" quest follows the Seashelves, and "Crystalline Seashelf" quest comes after that.[2]
- Tomes: in the quest book, "Tome of Scrapping" quest, "Armor Tomes" quest, "Tool Tomes" quest, "Weapon Tomes" quest and "ETC. Tomes" quest all come after a quest called Tomes. The scrapping line then continues with "Tome of Superior Scrapping" quest and a quest in "Apothic Enchanting".[2]
- Libraries: "Enchantment Library" quest asks for the Enchantment Library, which its text describes as storage for Enchanted Books. "Library of Alexandria" quest comes after both the Enchantment Library and Other Infusion Items.[2]
- Ender Leads: the quest book focuses on them for picking up mobs, and sets other mob-catching tools aside for now. "Flimsy Ender Lead" quest is followed by "Ender Lead" quest, which is followed by "Occult Ender Lead" quest. The last two also come after Other Infusion Items.[2]
- Odd ones out: "Negative Enchantments Removal" quest comes after Infusing and asks for the Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability. "Negative amounts" quest comes after Arcana, Quanta and Eterna, and its text says the shelves it asks for lower those values. "Making a real Trident" quest comes after Other Infusion Items.[2]
The text of some quests in this chapter is not covered in this guide. You will find those in the quest book in game.[2]
Unverified Whether the ATM Star quest path uses this mod is not shown by the sources here. Check the pack's quest book for that.
How do you get started with Apothic Enchanting?
5 parts
Apothic Enchanting changes how enchanting works in this pack. The quest book opens its chapter at "Apothic Enchanting" quest with the enchanting table and says plain Bookshelves are no longer enough. The quest "Vanilla Max is just the start" quest calls Bookshelves your starting point, and says normal ones only get Eterna up to a cap it gives as 30. Every number below is the quest book's own description of the setup, so read it as the pack's guidance.[2]
The three stats you are building
- Eterna: the quest book says it sets the enchantment level, which decides what enchantments you can get. It gives a default of 0 and a max of 50.[2]
- Quanta: the quest book says it mixes up the enchantment pool, and that more of it makes bad enchantments such as Curse of Binding more common. It gives a default of 15% and a max of 100%.[2]
- Arcana: the quest book says it increases how many enchantments you get and makes rare ones more common. It gives a default of 0% and a max of 100%.[2]
Step 1: make your first shelves
The quest "Hellshelves" quest presents the Hellshelf as your introduction to Quanta, at 3% Quanta and 3 Eterna. It asks for 16: 15 around the enchanting table and 1 in your inventory.[2]

If you would rather avoid the Nether, the quest "Seashelves" quest presents the Seashelf as your introduction to Arcana, at 3% Arcana and 3 Eterna. It also asks for 16 in total.[2]

Step 2: infuse one shelf
According to "Infused Hellshelves" quest, 15 Hellshelves around the table give 45 Eterna and 30% Quanta, which it calls the right amount to infuse the Hellshelf from your inventory. It describes the Infused Hellshelf as giving 5 Eterna with a max of 60, plus 5% Quanta.[2]
Infusion (apothic_enchanting)

The sea route follows the same pattern in "Infused Seashelf" quest: 15 Seashelves around the table, then infuse the last one. The quest describes the Infused Seashelf as giving 5 Eterna with a max of 60, plus 5% Arcana.[2]
Infusion (apothic_enchanting)
Recipe id: apothic_enchanting:infusion/infused_seashelf

Step 3: upgrade toward the Deepshelf
Infused shelves are crafting ingredients for better ones. The quest "Glowing Hellshelf" quest says the Glowing Hellshelf keeps the same Eterna and Quanta and adds 3% Arcana. The quest "Crystalline Seashelf" quest says the Crystalline Seashelf keeps 5 Eterna and 5% Arcana and adds 3% Quanta.[2]

The quest "Deepshelf" quest says 12 of either shelf give the 60 Eterna, 40% Quanta and 40% Arcana needed to infuse a Dormant Deepshelf into a Deepshelf. It marks this as the point where the Hellshelf and Seashelf paths come together.[2]

A side trip: Tomes
The quest "Tomes" quest describes Tomes as more useful books that can be enchanted like items to get certain enchantments. It sits right after Infusing, and its branches cover armor, tool, weapon and other tomes.[2]
How does Apothic Enchanting work?
7 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 7.0 guide
Apothic Enchanting is built around the enchanting table, not around machines. The mod's tooltips describe a stat system, a set of bookshelf blocks that feed it, and a few storage and extraction tools. Here is how those pieces work.[4]
Raising the level cap
Enchanting tables can now exceed 30 levels, and some enchantments only show up past level 30. The mod has advancements for enchanting at levels 30, 60, 80 and 100, so the high end is meant to be reachable.[4]
The three stats
The enchanting screen shows three stats, and the bookshelves around the table push them up.[4]
- Eterna sets the max enchanting level. The screen shows your current value against the maximum.[4]
- Arcana makes rare enchantments more common and increases the number of enchantments you get.[4]
- Quanta increases the underlying randomness. The screen also says it lessens the negative effects.[4]
Some shelves are tagged as providing Quantic Stability. There are advancements for enchanting at 0%, 50% and 100% Quanta, and for hitting max Eterna and Arcana with 0% Quanta.[4]
Shelves
The shelves form upgrade chains. The basic ones are the Hellshelf, the Beeshelf and the Melonshelf, and the higher tiers are built from the tier below. Here is the Beeshelf recipe as an example.[5]
Crafting Shaped

- Nether line: the Infused Hellshelf comes from Infusion Enchanting, and it then upgrades into the Blazing Hellshelf or the Glowing Hellshelf.[4][5]
- Sea line: the Infused Seashelf also comes from Infusion Enchanting. It upgrades into the Crystalline Seashelf, the Heart-Forged Seashelf or the Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration.[4][5]
- End line: you need Infused Dragon's Breath to make the Endshelf. The Endshelf then upgrades into the Draconic Endshelf or the Pearlescent Endshelf.[4][5]
- Deep line: the Dormant Deepshelf has to be activated, and it becomes the Deepshelf. That upgrades into the Echoing Deepshelf, which in turn goes into the Echoing Sculkshelf using a Warden Tendril.[4][5]

Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration
You insert enchanted books into the Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration to stop those enchantments from appearing in the table. It also gains Eterna and Arcana based on how many books you put in. That makes it a good way to cut out enchantments you don't want.[4][5]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: apothic_enchanting:filtering_shelf
Enchantment Library
The Enchantment Library stores enchantments. Insert an enchanted book to deposit it. Left-click a stored enchantment to take out one level, or shift-click to take the max level available.[4][5]
Tooltips on the library show how many enchantments it stores, the points stored against its capacity, and the max level available. They also warn you when the next level is unavailable.[4]

Tomes
The type tomes each accept one category of enchantments. These are the Tome of Helmets, Tome of Chestplates, Tome of Legplates, Tome of Boots, Tome of the Miners, Tome of the Fishers, Tome of the Archers and Tome of the Others. The Other tome covers miscellaneous enchantments.[4][5]
The Tome of Scrapping extracts half of the enchantments from an item and destroys the item in the process.[4][5]
The mod's text also describes an improved scrap tome that extracts all enchantments and destroys the item. It describes an extraction tome that extracts all enchantments without destroying the item. You can also build an Altar of the Seas, which turns unwanted enchanted items into a new book.[4]
Utility items
The Prismatic Cobweb can be used to remove curses.[4][5]
Ender leads capture and move entities. The Flimsy Ender Lead only handles animals. The full Ender Lead handles most entities, and the Occult Ender Lead can also bind them to Mob Spawners. The pack changed the Flimsy Ender Lead recipe from the mod's version, so use the one below.[4][5]

How do you progress through Apothic Enchanting?
7 parts
The quest chapter opens with the Enchanting Table quest, which says enchanting changes with this mod and that 15 bookshelves won't be enough now. The next quest, "Vanilla Max is just the start" quest, says plain bookshelves only get Eterna up to a max of 30. After that, "Infusing" quest leads into the rest of the chapter.[2]
The three stats
- The quests describe Eterna as the stat that sets the enchantment level, which decides what enchantments you can get. They say almost every shelf gives Eterna, and each has a cap on how high it can set it.[2]
- The quests describe Quanta as the stat that mixes up the enchantment pool, but say more of it makes bad enchantments like Curse of Binding more common. They give a default of 15% and a max of 100%.[2]
- The quests describe Arcana as the stat that raises how many enchantments you get and makes rare ones more common. They give a default of 0% and a max of 100%.[2]
The quests describe infusion as a special version of enchanting that offers itself once your table reaches the right Eterna, Quanta and Arcana. They point you to EMI or the quests themselves for the levels each infusion needs.[2]
Tier 1: Hellshelves and Seashelves
The quests have you pick a side here. They call the Hellshelf your introduction to Quanta (3% Quanta and 3 Eterna) and the Seashelf your introduction to Arcana (3% Arcana and 3 Eterna). For each side the quests ask for 15 shelves around the table plus 1 to infuse.[2]

The quest says 15 Hellshelves around the table give 45 Eterna and 30% Quanta, which is the setup for infusing the last one into an Infused Hellshelf. It describes that shelf as giving 5 Eterna (max 60) and 5% Quanta. The quest describes the Infused Seashelf the same way, with 5 Eterna (max 60) and 5% Arcana.[2]

Tier 4: The End
Once you have max Eterna 80, the quest moves on to infusing Dragon's Breath. It suggests 4 Echoing Sculkshelves, 4 Soul-Touched Sculkshelves and 6 Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability, and says these give 80 Eterna, 25% Quanta and 100% Arcana. The quests say the Geode shelf removes the increased chance of worse enchantments that Quanta brings.[2]
Infusion (apothic_enchanting)
Recipe id: apothic_enchanting:infusion/infused_breath
The quest says the Endshelf currently only gives 5 of each stat, with a max Eterna of 90. It says the Pearlescent Endshelf also has max Eterna 90, but is not what you want for max enchanting. The quest says the Draconic Endshelf only gives Eterna, with a max of 100, and that you can find the Dragon Head it needs on End Ships.[2]

Side shelves
- The quest says Beeshelf, Stoneshelf and Melonshelf each lower one of the stats, for infusions that need very exact amounts.[2]
- The quest says Seashelf of Aquatic Filtration blacklists an enchantment from the pool if you put that enchanted book in an empty slot of the shelf.[2]
- The quest calls Heart-Forged Seashelf a pricier upgrade of the Infused Seashelf that gives lots of Arcana, useful for later infusions.[2]
- Hellshelf of Sight and Hellshelf of Masterful Sight are the Enchanting Clues shelves. The quest says each clue tells you 1 enchantment before you use it. The pack changed the recipe for the Masterful Sight version.[2][3]
Infusion unlocks along the way
The quests list three Ender Lead tiers, each with its own Eterna, Quanta and Arcana requirements. The quest says the Flimsy Ender Lead can only hold animals and breaks after 8 uses. The pack changed its recipe.[2][3]

The quest says the Ender Lead can also hold hostile mobs and breaks after 64 uses, and asks for at least 45 Eterna, 25% Quanta and 40% Arcana. It says the Occult Ender Lead is unbreakable and can bind mobs to Spawners, and asks for at least 75 Eterna, 85% Quanta and 60-85% Arcana, plus a Witch in the Ender Lead used for the infusion.[2]
The Tomes chain works the same way. The quest says the Tome of Scrapping takes half the enchantments off an item and breaks it. It says infusing that into the Tome of Superior Scrapping takes every enchantment off, still breaking the item, and infusing that into the Tome of Extraction takes every enchantment off and leaves the item alone.[2]

How does Apothic Enchanting work with other mods?
3 parts
Apothic Enchanting is the enchanting half of the Apotheosis family, and in this pack it shows up in two recipes that also use other mods. Both rely on the Warden Tendril, so it is worth keeping a few.[3]
Gate Pearl (Gateways To Eternity)
The pack has changed the recipe for the Gate Pearl from Gateways To Eternity. It is a crafting table recipe that mixes items from Apotheosis with items from Apothic Enchanting, including the Warden Tendril. The recipe id is apotheosis:gateways/tiered/pinnacle.[3]

What the quest book says
The "Apothic Enchanting" quest chapter opens by saying enchanting gets a few changes with Apotheosis, and its Hellshelves, Seashelves and Arcana quests all come after the Infusing quest.[2]
The Flimsy Ender Lead quest calls it the Apotheosis option for picking up mobs. It is the cheapest and weakest Ender Lead, it can only hold animals, and it breaks after 8 uses. See "Flimsy Ender Lead" quest.[2]
The quest for the Tome of Superior Scrapping gives two ways to infuse a Tome of Scrapping into it: 3 Echoing Sculkshelves and 15 Bookshelves, or 4 Draconium Blocks. See "Tome of Superior Scrapping" quest.[2]
Unverified 32 of the 47 quests in the Apothic Enchanting chapter are not shown in the sources here, so any other cross-mod uses in them are unconfirmed. Check the quest book in the pack for what they say.
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use Apothic Enchanting?
5 parts
Apothic Enchanting has one quest chapter in the pack, also called Apothic Enchanting, with 47 quests. It starts at "Apothic Enchanting" quest, which asks for an enchanting table and tells you that 15 bookshelves won't be enough now. "Vanilla Max is just the start" quest follows, and its text says that with only normal bookshelves you can get Eterna up to a max of 30. Then comes "Infusing" quest, and almost everything else in the chapter branches off that one.[2]
The three stats
The quest text describes infusion as a special version of enchanting that is offered when the right amount of Eterna, Quanta and Arcana is reached. Three quests explain the stats, all after Infusing. "Eterna" quest says Eterna sets the enchantment level, with a default of 0 and a max of 50. "Quanta" quest says Quanta has a default of 15% and a max of 100%. "Arcana" quest says Arcana has a default of 0% and a max of 100%. After all three, "Negative amounts" quest asks for Beeshelf, Stoneshelf and Melonshelf, which the quest says each lower their respective stat for infusions that need exact amounts.[2]
The shelf path
The main line is a ladder of bookshelves. The quest book lets you pick the Nether side or the sea side first, and the two meet at the Deepshelf quest.[2]
- "Hellshelves" quest asks for your first Hellshelf. Its text says Hellshelves give 3% Quanta and 3 Eterna, and that you want 16 of them. The quest says it will give you the last 5 once you have made 11. "Infused Hellshelves" quest follows. Its text says 15 Hellshelves around the table give 45 Eterna and 30% Quanta, and that you need 12 Infused Hellshelves but only have to collect 8.[2]
- "Seashelves" quest is the sea route, asking for a Seashelf. Its text says Seashelves give 3% Arcana and 3 Eterna, and asks you to collect 11 for now, with extras given as a reward. "Infused Seashelf" quest comes next. Its text says Infused Seashelves give 5 Eterna (max 60) and 5% Arcana, and that you need 12 for the Crystalline Seashelf step, of which you craft 8.[2]
- "Glowing Hellshelf" quest and "Crystalline Seashelf" quest both lead into "Deepshelf" quest. That quest's text says a Deepshelf needs 60 Eterna, 40% Quanta and 40% Arcana, and that 12 Crystalline Seashelves or 12 Glowing Hellshelves can provide it.[2]
- After the Deepshelf, "Echoing Deepshelf" quest says Echoing Deepshelves give 15% Arcana and raise max Eterna to 75, and "Soul-Touched Deepshelf" quest says the Soul-Touched version gives 15% Quanta and also raises max Eterna to 75. Their upgrades are "Echoing Sculkshelf" quest and "Soul-Touched Sculkshelf" quest, which the quests say reach a max Eterna of 80.[2]
- "Infused Dragon's Breath" quest unlocks after both Sculkshelf quests and "Negative Enchantments Removal" quest. The quest suggests 4 Echoing Sculkshelves, 4 Soul-Touched Sculkshelves and 6 Geode-Encased Bookshelves of Stability, and says that gives 80 Eterna, 25% Quanta and 100% Arcana.[2]
- "Endshelves" quest comes next, and its text mentions a max Eterna of 90. Then "Draconic Endshelf" quest (the text mentions a max Eterna of 100) and "Pearlescent Endshelf" quest (max Eterna 90) both follow it.[2]
- "Best Enchanting set-up" quest closes the line, after the Draconic Endshelf. It asks for the Soul-Touched Sculkshelf, Echoing Sculkshelf, Draconic Endshelf, Geode-Encased Bookshelf of Stability and Deepshelf of Arcane Treasures. The quest calls the last one optional but recommended.[2]
Side shelves
A few optional shelf quests hang off the main line. "Blazing Hellshelf" quest and "Enchanting Clues" quest follow the Infused Hellshelves quest. "Remove Enchantments from Pool" quest and "Heart-Forged Seashelf" quest follow the Infused Seashelf quest. The first of those two asks for a shelf that the quest says can filter a chosen enchantment out of the pool. The Heart-Forged Seashelf quest says that shelf gives lots of Arcana for later infusions.[2]
Tomes
"Tomes" quest unlocks after Infusing and opens several branches: "Tome of Scrapping" quest, "Armor Tomes" quest, "Tool Tomes" quest, "Weapon Tomes" quest and "ETC. Tomes" quest. The scrapping tomes then form their own chain, and each of the last two also needs "Other Infusion Items" quest.[2]
- "Tome of Scrapping" quest: the quest says combining an item with it in an anvil takes half the enchantments off, and the item breaks.[2]
- "Tome of Superior Scrapping" quest: the quest says it takes every enchantment off, and the item still breaks.[2]
- a quest in "Apothic Enchanting": the quest says it takes every enchantment off and leaves the item alone.[2]
Other infusion items
"Other Infusion Items" quest is a hub for infusions beyond bookshelves. Its branches include "Making Budding Amethyst" quest (the text gives 60 Eterna, 30% to 50% Quanta, 50% Arcana) and "Making a real Trident" quest (40 Eterna, 20% to 50% Quanta, at least 35% Arcana). There is also "Unbreakable Charms" quest, "Crafting EXP?" quest (honey bottles into Bottles O' Enchanting, in three infusions of 1, 8 and 32) and "Infinite Echo Shards?" quest (1 echo shard into 4, at 70 Eterna, 50% Quanta and 50% Arcana).[2]
The leads are a three-step chain. The "Flimsy Ender Lead" quest quest says it only holds animals and breaks after 8 uses. "Ender Lead" quest says it also holds hostile mobs and breaks after 64 uses, with 45 Eterna, 25% Quanta and 40% Arcana needed. "Occult Ender Lead" quest says it is unbreakable and can bind mobs to spawners, with 75 Eterna, 85% Quanta and 60% to 85% Arcana needed.[2]
For storage, the "Enchantment Library" quest quest says each book is stored up to 32,768 points. "Library of Alexandria" quest comes after it and the other infusion items, and its text says the Library of Alexandria holds 1.1 billion points of each book.[2]
