What is AllTheModium?

2 parts

AllTheModium adds three rare metal tiers to the pack: Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium. Each tier has its own tools and armor, and the mod also adds smithing templates and a few food items. This pack ships version 2.9.3.[1][2][3][4][5]

All three ores are very rare and can be hard to find. Allthemodium ore spawns on the walls and ceilings of the Deep Dark. Vibranium ore is in the Nether above Y 64. Unobtainium ore is in the End Highlands below Y 78. These locations come from the mod's own in-game guide.[4][5][6][7][8][9]

What you get out of it

Allthemodium armor does more than add protection. It gives you water breathing, no crash damage when flying with an Elytra, fire immunity and no fall damage. If you upgrade from Netherite, your enchants carry over. Try it on with the Allthemodium Helmet and the rest of the set.[5][10]

The mod's built-in tools are all indestructible.[11]

The mod also adds The Other, a very hostile dimension. You reach it with the Teleport Pad in the Nether, using shift right click with an empty hand and an empty off hand. Its dungeons are where you can find Unobtainium smithing templates.[1][12][13]

Where it fits in the progression

The pack's quests follow a clear order. Each of these chapters is built around this mod's items:[4][5]

Tip: Get Allthemodium-quality tools or better before you try to mine Vibranium. That puts the tiers in order: Allthemodium, then Vibranium, then Unobtainium.[1]

How do you get started with AllTheModium?

5 parts

Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium are very rare ores and can be hard to find, so plan your trips. Here is the order I'd go in, and why.[6]

Step 1: Find Allthemodium and make your first ingot

Start with Allthemodium. It spawns in the Deep Dark biome on cave walls and ceilings, and it is also a common spawn very high up in the Mountains, above Y 170. Pick up Raw Allthemodium Ore, which is the task of quest a quest in "?", then smelt it into an Allthemodium Ingot.[4][7][14]

Smelting

Recipe id: allthemodium:allthemodium_ingot_from_raw_smelting

Blasting the raw ore also gives you an Allthemodium Ingot.

That first ingot matters because it is the addition used in the Allthemodium upgrade at the smithing table. The ingot also has its own quest, a quest in "?".[5][14][15]

Step 2: Track down a smithing template

Gear in this mod is made at a smithing table, and each tier needs its own template. The mod page says you find the Allthemodium Smithing Template in an Ancient City, inside Suspicious Clay in the Basalt. You need a brush to sift it.[1][14]

Step 3: Upgrade your Netherite gear

With a template and an ingot, you upgrade Netherite gear into Allthemodium gear. The armour keeps its enchantments when you upgrade it from Netherite. Allthemodium armour gives you Water Breathing, no crash damage when flying with an Elytra, immunity to fire damage and no fall damage.[10][14][15]

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: allthemodium:smithing/allthemodium_pickaxe_smithing

The tool recipes are all smithing upgrades. Start with the pickaxe.

The mod's tools are indestructible, so the pickaxe is a one-time investment. The quest a quest in "?" accepts any one of the Allthemodium, Vibranium or Unobtainium pickaxes, or the Allthemodium Alloy Pick.[4][11]

Tip: The mod page says to get Allthemodium-quality tools or better before you try to mine Vibranium, so make the pickaxe first.[1]

Step 4: Vibranium from the Nether

Vibranium ore is found in the Nether above Y 64. The mod page says to look near the Nether ceiling rather than the floor. Smelt the raw ore into a Vibranium Ingot. The Vibranium Smithing Template comes from sifting Suspicious Soul Sand in a Treasure Bastion Remnant. It upgrades Allthemodium gear into Vibranium gear.[1][9][14][15]

This pack also adds its own way to make a Vibranium ingot, an Ender Crafter recipe, so you are not limited to mining it.[14]

This Ender Crafter recipe is added by the pack.

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: allthemodium:smithing/vibranium_pickaxe_smithing

The Vibranium upgrade takes Allthemodium gear as its base.

Step 5: Unobtainium last

Unobtainium ore is found in the End Highland biome and spawns under Y 78. The mod page calls it very rare. Its upgrade turns Vibranium gear into Unobtainium gear. The Unobtainium Smithing Template is found in a dungeon in The Other, according to the mod page.[1][8][15]

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: allthemodium:smithing/unobtainium_pickaxe_smithing

The Unobtainium upgrade takes Vibranium gear as its base.

Tip: Stuck on a recipe? The mod page recommends checking JEI. This pack also changed some ingot recipes: casting Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium ingots from their molten forms is a pack change, so trust what the site and JEI show.[1][14]

How does AllTheModium work?

4 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10: To the Sky 1.8 guide

Here's the honest picture: the project page describes AllTheModium as a mod that adds items, namely allthemodium, vibranium and unobtainium templates, armor and tools. The sources I have don't document any machines, multiblocks, power use, fluid handling or automation for it, so this section stays short.[1]

The Teleport Pad

The Teleport Pad takes you to The Mining Dimension and The Other. To use it, sneak and right-click with both your main hand and off hand empty.[13][16]

  • The Mining Dimension: use a Teleport Pad in the Overworld. It's a superflat dimension, handy for setting up quarries and as a testing area.[17]
  • The Other: use a Teleport Pad in the Nether. It's a very hostile dimension with underground cities, dungeons and ancient pyramids.[12]

Processing by hand

The recipes I can see for Allthemodium dust don't use a machine. They use an ore hammer in the crafting grid.[18]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: allthemodium:allthemodium_dust_from_ore_crushing

Raw ore is crushed into dust with an ore hammer in the crafting grid.

Ancient Chiseled Stone Bricks work the same way, made by crushing with an ore hammer.[18]

Crafting Shapeless

  • any ancient cracked stone brick
  • any ore hammer

Recipe id: allthemodium:ancient_chiseled_stone_bricks_from_crushing

Compacting and breaking down the metal is plain crafting too. Ingots, nuggets and storage blocks convert back and forth using any matching tagged item.[18]

Crafting Shapeless

  • any allthemodium storage block

Recipe id: allthemodium:allthemodium_ingot_from_block

Smithing upgrades

The gear tiers are upgraded with the mod's smithing templates. The slot descriptions show the chain: the Allthemodium upgrade takes Netherite armor, weapons or tools plus an Allthemodium Ingot. The Unobtainium upgrade takes Vibranium gear plus an Unobtainium Ingot. The Vibranium upgrade takes Allthemodium gear.[16]

When you upgrade armor from Netherite, it keeps its enchantments. Allthemodium tools are indestructible.[10][11]

Slurries

The mod registers clean and dirty slurries for Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium.[16]

How do you progress through AllTheModium?

5 parts

AllTheModium is built around its metals: Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium. In this pack you work through them as gear tiers, and each tier is a smithing upgrade of the one before. The ores are very rare and can be hard to find, so scouting is half the battle.[6][14]

Finding the ores

  • Raw Allthemodium Ore spawns in the Deep Dark biome on cave walls and ceilings. It is also a common spawn very high in the mountains above Y 170, and it shows up in the deepslate layer caves of The Other dimension.[4][7]
  • Raw Vibranium Ore is found in the Nether above Y 64, and also deep underground in caves in The Other dimension.[9][14]
  • Raw Unobtainium Ore is found in the End Highland biome, spawning under Y 78.[4][8]

To reach The Other, use the Teleport Pad in the Nether. It is a very hostile dimension, so go in prepared.[12][13]

Getting ingots

In the basic_tools chapter, the quest for raw Allthemodium is a quest in "?", and the raw Unobtainium quest a quest in "?" comes right after it. Raw ore smelts or blasts into an ingot, and so does dust. Here is the Allthemodium version:[4][14]

Blasting

Recipe id: allthemodium:allthemodium_ingot_from_raw_blasting

Smelting works too, and Vibranium and Unobtainium have matching raw and dust recipes.

The pack also adds an Ender Crafter recipe for the Vibranium Ingot, as an alternative to hunting the ore.[14]

Recipe id: extendedcrafting:vibranium

The pack also changes the casting recipes: Molten Allthemodium, Molten Vibranium and Molten Unobtainium can each be cast into their ingot with an Ingot Cast.[14]

The basic_armor chapter has an ingot quest for each metal: a quest in "?" for Allthemodium, a quest in "?" for Vibranium and a quest in "?" for Unobtainium.[5]

The upgrade chain

Allthemodium gear is the first tier, and you upgrade it from a Netherite piece at a smithing table. Vibranium is the second tier and is upgraded from the matching Allthemodium piece. Unobtainium is the top tier and is upgraded from the matching Vibranium piece. Every step needs that metal's ingot and its own smithing template: Allthemodium Smithing Template, Vibranium Smithing Template or Unobtainium Smithing Template.[14]

The pickaxe shows the whole chain, and the swords and every armour piece follow the same pattern.[14]

Quests along the way

What the gear gives you

Allthemodium armour gives water breathing, immunity to fire damage, no fall damage and no crash damage when flying with an Elytra, on top of the usual armour, toughness and knockback resistance. When you upgrade from Netherite the armour keeps its enchantments, so you can enchant first if you like.[10]

The built-in AllTheModium tools are indestructible.[11]

How does AllTheModium work with other mods?

6 parts

AllTheModium itself adds the three metals and their gear, and the pack hooks them into several other mods through recipes. Here is every connection I can confirm from the pack's recipes.[1][14]

Mekanism ore processing

Allthemodium, Vibranium and Unobtainium each get their own Mekanism processing chain. Purifying with Liquid Oxygen makes clumps, injecting with Liquid Hydrogen Chloride makes shards, and dissolution with Liquid Sulfuric Acid makes a dirty slurry. The pack changed these recipes, so don't assume vanilla Mekanism behaviour.[14]

Each metal accepts several inputs here, including ores, raw ores and raw blocks. Shards can be purified into clumps, and crystals can be injected into shards. Here are two examples for Allthemodium.[14]

2× Allthemodium ClumpChanged by the pack

Injecting an ore into an Allthemodium shard, also changed by the pack.

Sawing the special logs

The pack adds sawing recipes for the mod's ancient, demonic and soul logs. Mekanism's sawing recipes turn them into planks and Sawdust. Productive Trees has a matching set of sawmill recipes that use Sawdust. Both routes give you Ancient Planks, Demonic Planks or Soul Planks.[14]

Ex Deorum sieving

The pack also adds a way to get Allthemodium Nugget by sieving. You use an Ex Deorum sieve with a Diamond Mesh or a Netherite Mesh. Sand and Crushed Blackstone both work as the material to sift.[14]

Allthemodium NuggetAdded by the pack

Sieve (exdeorum)

Recipe id: allthemods:exdeorum/netherite_mesh/crushed_blackstone/allthemodium_nugget

Sieving crushed blackstone with a netherite mesh, added by the pack.

Ars Nouveau

The Unobtainium Source Jar is crafted at an Ars Nouveau enchanting apparatus, starting from a regular Source Jar plus an unobtainium ingot. This is a recipe from the mod itself, not one the pack changed.[14]

Enchanting Apparatus (ars_nouveau)

The ATM Star

The ATM Star is crafted in an Extended Crafting table with a recipe the pack added. It combines blocks of all three metals with other All the Tweaks items and an Ultimate Singularity.[14]

All the Compressed

The pack lets you compress many of the mod's blocks into All the Compressed versions, and you can decompress them again. This covers the metal blocks, the raw blocks and the alloy blocks. It also covers Ancient Log, Ancient Stone and Block of Piglich Hearts. These recipes are marked as changed by the pack.[14]

Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use AllTheModium?

2 parts

The mod shows up in two quest chapters in the pack: basic_tools and basic_armor. The quests are untitled in the pack files, so I'll point you to each one by its quest reference and tell you what it wants.[4][5]

Chapter: basic_tools

The tool quests in this chapter ask you to hand in finished tools. They all unlock after the same earlier quest, so you can tackle them in any order once that one is done. Each sword quest wants one specific sword:[4]

The pickaxe quest, a quest in "?", is more flexible. It accepts any one of the Allthemodium Pickaxe, Vibranium Pickaxe, Unobtainium Pickaxe or Allthemodium Alloy Pick.[4]

The other two quests in the chapter are about raw ore and form a short chain. a quest in "?" asks for Raw Allthemodium Ore and unlocks after a quest from outside these two chapters. Then a quest in "?" unlocks after it and asks for Raw Unobtainium Ore.[4]

Chapter: basic_armor

This chapter has two kinds of quests: ingots and full armor sets. The ingot quests are a quest in "?" for the Allthemodium Ingot, a quest in "?" for the Vibranium Ingot and a quest in "?" for the Unobtainium Ingot.[5]

Each armor quest has one task per piece: helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots. They are a quest in "?" for the Allthemodium set, a quest in "?" for the Vibranium set and a quest in "?" for the Unobtainium set. For example, the Vibranium set uses Vibranium Helmet, Vibranium Chestplate, Vibranium Leggings and Vibranium Boots.[5]
