What is Create: Enchantment Industry?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Create: Enchantment Industry adds more tools and methods for handling experience and enchanting inside Create. Its project page says the mod currently offers these, so if you like automating everything with belts, spouts and deployers, you can automate enchanting too.[1]

The pack includes version 2.5.3b of the mod.[2]

What it adds

The project page lists what the mod currently offers. These are the features that matter most for a Create player:[1]

  • Liquid Experience, listed as a current feature: high-density experience that is easy to store and transport.[1]
  • Experience Hatch, listed as a current feature: lets you interact with a fluid tank directly, using your own experience.[1]
  • Mechanical Grindstone, listed as a current feature: a fully automated Grindstone with an extra sanding function.[1]
  • Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger, listed as current features: a blaze acts as a smart enchanting table and as a smart anvil.[1]
  • Printer, listed as a current feature: copies written books, enchanted books, name tags, train schedules and more.[1]
  • Experience Lantern, listed as a current feature: absorbs experience and also works on contraptions.[1]
  • Hyper-enchantmechanism, listed as a current feature: lets you break the limits of enchantments.[1]
  • Mending on belt: items with Mending can be repaired using a Spout and Liquid Experience.[1]
  • Deployer and Crushing Wheel tweak, listed as current features: their kills drop experience nuggets. Deployers also benefit from a sword with Sweeping Edge.[1]

The page also lists, among the features it currently offers, Apotheosis integration such as the Brass Bookshelf, Infuser and Gem Cutter, and an optional Classic Blaze Enchanter from the old v1.0 mod.[1]

Tip: The project page describes the mod in general, so its feature list may not match version 2.5.3b exactly. Check in game before you plan a build around a specific machine.[1][2]

Where it fits in the pack

Unverified The sources I have don't show any quests for this mod, and the mod isn't on the ATM Star path. There is also no in-jar guidebook to confirm progression details, so I can't say at what stage of the pack you're meant to reach it.

How do you get started with Create: Enchantment Industry?

6 parts

This mod adds tools for handling experience and enchanting inside Create. The smoothest start is to get Liquid Experience flowing first, then build the blaze machines that work with enchantments. Here is the order I'd go in.[1]

Step 1: Mechanical Grindstone

Build the Mechanical Grindstone first. It's a fully automated grindstone with an extra sanding function. It's also how you turn experience items into Liquid Experience, a high-density experience fluid that is easy to store and transport.[1][3]

It also strips enchantments off items. There is an advancement for watching an enchanted item get disenchanted in one, and another for collecting Liquid Experience from Mechanical Grindstones.[4]

These are the Liquid Experience sources the recipes confirm:[3]

Step 2: Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger

Next come the two blaze machines. The Blaze Enchanter works as a smart enchanting table, and the Blaze Forger works as a smart anvil. Both are made with smithing recipes.[1][3]

The Blaze Enchanter has two modes. In direct mode it randomly enchants a compatible item at the enchanting level you select. In template mode it writes one enchantment suitable for the template item into a blank Enchanting Template.[4]

The Blaze Forger has three modes. It can apply an enchanted book or a filled Enchanting Template to a target item, extract one enchantment into a blank template, or merge matching enchantment carriers, books, templates or matching equipment.[4]

Step 3: Enchanting Templates

Blank Enchanting Template items are pressed from a Block of Experience. Both blaze machines work with them, as the modes above show.[3][4]

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:pressing/enchanting_template

Step 4: Storing and moving experience

The Experience Hatch lets you interact with a fluid tank directly using your own experience. There are advancements for storing your experience in it and for taking some back out.[1][4]

Later: the Apotheosis machines

The mod also has machines for the Apotheosis series: the Infuser, the Gem Cutter and the Affix Augmentor. The pack changed each of these recipes, so don't rely on what you remember from other packs.[1][3]

The pack changed this recipe.

The Affix Augmentor must sit on a horizontal belt or depot. It needs a tank of Apotheotic Essence, and that fluid tank has to be placed 2 blocks beneath it. The pack changed the mixing recipes that dissolve Apotheosis materials into that essence.[3][4]

How does Create: Enchantment Industry work?

9 parts

The mod's project page lists a set of Create-style machines for handling experience and enchanting. It all starts with Liquid Experience, a high-density experience fluid that the page says is easy to store and transport. Below is how the main systems work in this pack.[1]

Getting experience in and out

The project page lists the Experience Hatch as a way to interact with a fluid tank directly, using your own experience. The mod's advancements mention storing your experience in a hatch and retrieving it again later.[1][4]

The project page describes the Mechanical Grindstone as a fully automated grindstone with an extra sanding function. The mod's text also shows it disenchanting an enchanted item, and an advancement tracks Liquid Experience obtained from Mechanical Grindstones. In this pack it has its own grinding recipes that turn experience items into Liquid Experience, including Create's Nugget of Experience and Block of Experience, the Block of Super Experience, and several Ars Nouveau and Ars Technica experience gems. This pack changed the Ars Nouveau gem recipes.[1][3][4]

The pack sets the stress impact of both kinetics.stressValues.v1.impact.mechanical_grindstone and kinetics.stressValues.v1.impact.grindstone_drain to 4.[5]

Other ways to get fluid include emptying a vanilla experience bottle, and emptying a Mystical Agriculture Experience Droplet (a pack-changed recipe). The pack keeps kinetics.fluids.experienceVaporizeOnPlacement on, so Liquid Experience vaporizes into experience orbs when placed in the world.[3][5]

Deployers and Crushing Wheels

Kills made by a Deployer or Crushing Wheel drop experience, and the Deployer can collect dropped experience as Experience Nuggets. In this pack the Deployer options for collecting XP, kill drops, mining drops, mending the held item and sweep attacks are all enabled. The Crushing Wheel kill drop is enabled too, and its chance and scale are left at the mod defaults. A Deployer with a Sweeping Edge sword benefits from the enchantment.[1][5]

Tip: Mending works on the belt, too. Items with Mending can be repaired using a Spout and Liquid Experience.[1]

Blaze Enchanter

The mod's Ponder text says the Blaze Enchanter works like an Enchanting Table. You give it Liquid Experience to activate it, then set the enchant level on its panel before enchanting. This pack raises the regular cap to 50 from the mod default of 30 (kinetics.enchantments.blazeEnchanterMaxEnchantLevel).[4][5]

Its tank capacity is 4,000 mB, which is the mod default (kinetics.fluids.blazeEnchanterFluidCapacity).[5]

According to the mod's Ponder text, the panel is also a filter slot. Right-click it with an item to enter Template Enchanting Mode. In that mode the enchanter produces only enchantments the template item supports, and if you give it a blank Enchanting Template, those enchantments are added to it. For example, diamond chest armor in the slot means only diamond-chest-armor enchantments are generated. Different materials give different results: golden chest armor has better enchantability than diamond chest armor, so it produces relatively better enchantments.[4]

Tip: The mod's Ponder text points out that a higher enchanting level is not always better: some enchantments will not appear when the level is too high.[4]

Super Enchanting

The mod's Ponder text says the Blaze Enchanter has a second tank that cannot be filled by pipe. It needs an eligible Super Experience item, such as Cake o' Enchanting, and then it begins seething. That is Super Enchanting mode. The level cap rises significantly and treasure enchantments become possible. In this mode the enchanter processes only Super Enchanting Templates.[4]

The pack sets the Super Enchanting level cap to 100, up from the mod default of 60 (kinetics.enchantments.blazeEnchanterMaxSuperEnchantLevel). Super Enchanting and Super Forging also ignore enchantment compatibility here (kinetics.enchantments.ignoreEnchantmentCompatibility).[5]

To make the cake, you first make the base with a compacting recipe, which this pack changed. A filling recipe then combines Liquid Experience with that base to give the cake.[3]

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:filling/experience_cake

Watch out: Super Enchanting can cause lightning strikes, so place a Lightning Rod nearby. You can cover the Blaze Enchanter with a block to avoid the strikes, but then a curse may appear.[4]

Blaze Forger

The project page describes the Blaze Forger as a smart anvil. Its goggle tooltips describe these modes: Apply puts an enchanted book or filled Enchanting Template onto a target item. Extract moves one enchantment from an item, book or template into a blank Enchanting Template. Merge combines matching enchantment carriers, books, templates or matching equipment.[1][4]

Its tank capacity is 4,000 mB, the mod default (kinetics.fluids.blazeForgerFluidCapacity).[5]

Automating the Blazes

Both the Blaze Enchanter and the Blaze Forger can be automated with a Mechanical Arm. The arm can insert items, feed experience fuel, and extract finished items as well as invalid ones.[4]

Printer

The Printer copies written books, enchanted books, name tags, train schedules and more. It can also rename items and change a package's pattern or address. This pack raises its tank to 6,000 mB, up from the mod default of 4,000 (kinetics.fluids.printerFluidCapacity).[1][4][5]

Every printing function is enabled in this pack. The enchanted book cost multiplier is 1, the mod default (kinetics.fluids.printingEnchantedBookCostMultiplier). The generation change when copying written books is -3, also the mod default (kinetics.fluids.printingGenerationChange). Custom names print as italic names, not as item names (kinetics.fluids.printingCustomNameAsItemName is false).[5]

Apotheosis machines

The project page lists Apotheosis integration: the Infuser, Gem Cutter and Affix Augmentor. This pack changed the recipes for these, so use the recipe blocks below and not the mod's defaults.[1][3]

The mod's Ponder text says the Affix Augmentor upgrades the affixes of equipment automatically. It must be installed on a horizontal Belt or Depot. It also needs a tank of Apotheotic Essence, and the Fluid Tank must sit 2 blocks beneath it.[4]

How do you progress through Create: Enchantment Industry?

6 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Unverified The sources here show no quests in this pack that involve this mod, and it is not on the ATM Star quest path. Check the pack's quest book yourself. Because there is no quest-guided order, the stages below follow the in-pack recipes instead.

Think of this mod as a ladder. First you set up Liquid Experience and the basic machines. Then you upgrade Blaze Burners into enchanting machines. Finally you reach the late-game gear that the pack has reworked. Wherever the recipe dump says the pack changed a recipe, I point it out, because it can differ from the mod's defaults.[6]

Early game: Liquid Experience and the basic machines

Everything starts with Liquid Experience. The Mechanical Grindstone grinds experience nuggets and blocks into it, and the Super Experience versions work the same way. Experience bottles can be emptied into it too. The pack also adds emptying and grinding routes for Mystical Agriculture's Experience Droplet and for the Ars Nouveau and Ars Technica experience gems.[6]

How does Create: Enchantment Industry work with other mods?

    5 parts

Create: Enchantment Industry needs Create and Create: Dragons Plus to run. In this pack it also reaches into the Apotheosis series, Ars Nouveau, Ars Technica, Mystical Agriculture and Productive Bees. Most of these links are recipes that turn another mod's items into this mod's fluids and materials, and the pack has changed a lot of them.[1][3]

    Liquid Experience from other mods

Experience items from several mods can be turned into Liquid Experience, so you can feed your XP setup from different sources.[3]

    Apotheosis and Apothic Enchanting

This is the deepest link. The mod's Apotheosis integration adds the Brass Bookshelf, Infuser, Gem Cutter and Affix Augmentor. In this pack, mixing dissolves Apotheosis materials into new fluids: apotheosis:common_material, apotheosis:uncommon_material, apotheosis:rare_material, apotheosis:epic_material and apotheosis:mythic_material all become Apotheotic Essence, while Gem Dust becomes Crystal Essence. The pack changed all of these recipes.[1][3]

The Gem Cutter and Affix Augmentor both use Apotheosis items in their crafting recipes, and the pack changed both. The Gem Cutter is described as processing gems to their highest quality, and the Affix Augmentor as automated affix enhancement.[1][3]

Which Create: Enchantment Industry config options matter?

    6 parts

Most of this mod's settings live in one server config file, and this pack only changes three of them. Everything else stays at the mod default or is simply switched on. Here is what matters most.[5]

    What the pack changed

    Enchanting limits

kinetics.enchantments.enchantmentMaxLevelExtension is 1, the mod default. It extends the maximum enchantment level in Super Enchanting by that amount. kinetics.enchantments.ignoreEnchantmentCompatibility is true, so Super Enchanting and Super Forging ignore enchantment compatibility. kinetics.enchantments.splitEnchantmentRespectLevelExtension is false, so enchantment splitting does not respect the over-capped level.[5]

    Fluid capacities

Apart from the Printer, the tanks are at their mod defaults. kinetics.fluids.blazeEnchanterFluidCapacity and kinetics.fluids.blazeForgerFluidCapacity are both 4,000 mB. kinetics.fluids.experienceLanternFluidCapacity is 1,000 mB. kinetics.fluids.experienceLanternDrainRate is 50, which is how much experience the lantern drains from a player per 0.5 tick.[5]

kinetics.fluids.experienceVaporizeOnPlacement is true, so Liquid Experience turns into Experience Orbs when you place it.[5]

Experience from Deployers and Crushing Wheels

Experience drops from both machines are enabled. For Crushing Wheels, kinetics.crushingWheelKillDropXp is true, and both kinetics.crushingWheelKillDropXpChance (the probability of a drop) and kinetics.crushingWheelKillDropXpScale (the scale of the dropped experience) are left at their mod defaults.[5]

    For Deployers, kinetics.deployerKillDropXp, kinetics.deployerMineDropXp, kinetics.deployerCollectXp, kinetics.deployerMendItem and kinetics.deployerSweepAttack are all true. kinetics.deployerKillXpScale and kinetics.deployerMineXpScale are both 1.[5]

Tip: The config says Mending on a Deployer's held item needs deployerCollectXp to be true. It is true in this pack, so that setup works as it is.[5]

    Printer settings

Every Printer function is enabled: enchanted book, written book, custom name, package address, package pattern and Create copiable item printing. For example, see kinetics.fluids.enableEnchantedBookPrinting and kinetics.fluids.enableWrittenBookPrinting. The remaining Printer options are at their mod defaults.[5]

    Other values

kinetics.processing.regularLightningStrikeTransformXpBlockChance is 1, the mod default. It is the probability that a regular lightning strike transforms a Block of Experience. The stress impact values for kinetics.stressValues.v1.impact.mechanical_grindstone and kinetics.stressValues.v1.impact.grindstone_drain are both 4.[5]

What changed in Create: Enchantment Industry between versions?

    3 parts

All the Mons 1.0.1 ships Create: Enchantment Industry 2.5.0-preview-alpha1. The mod was already in the pack by 0.3.0-beta or earlier. The notes below come from the mod's own changelogs, newest first.[7]

2.5.0-preview-alpha1 (the version in the pack)

Watch out: The mod author labels this build an alpha content preview, not a release for modpacks or servers, and says breaking changes may (certainly will) happen in future preview and release versions. Issues are described as normal for it.[8]
    • Added the Blaze Composer and Affix Templates for handling Apotheosis affixes, and Apotheotic Content now has its own creative tab.[8]
    • Blaze Forger and Blaze Enchanter got more customizable options, improved arm interaction and improved goggle tooltips. The Gem Cutter and Affix Augmentor also gained goggle tooltips.[8]
    • The Affix Augmentor now has a configurable maximum level and a global cost multiplier, and affix composing rules can deny or reprice augmenting separately.[8]
    • The Blaze Forger now needs you to select its mode manually via the side panel, which is meant to make automation setups easier.[8]
    • Fixes: optional integration block loot tables keeping their conditions during data generation, the Affix Augmentor starting reliably on belt-held items, how curses work in the Blaze Forger, and the Gem Cutter not processing flawless gems on a depot.[8]

    Migration notes for pack makers

    • The old server config option enchantmentMaxLevelExtension is no longer used, and there is no automatic fallback. Packs that changed it must set both new options, blazeEnchanterMaxLevelExtension and blazeForgerMaxLevelExtension, explicitly.[8]
    • Some old datapack datamaps still work through a compatibility layer that might be removed in the future. They are deprecated and print a server log warning when used.[8]
    • The old super_enchanting/custom_level_extension datamap is replaced by level extension rules for the Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger under enchantment_processing/rules.[8]
    • The old forging/cost_multiplier and forging/split_enchantment_cost_multiplier datamaps are replaced by Blaze Forger cost multiplier rules (merge, apply and split) under enchantment_processing/rules.[8]

    Earlier releases

    • 2.4.2: added Copper Age Backport compat, made the TML compat config independent, and fixed inappropriate class loading.[9]
    • 2.3.1: an update for Create 6.0.10. It added support for copying schematics and fixed an item duplication bug with Sable.[10]
    • 2.3.0: an update for Create 6.0.9. It added compat for Touhou Little Maid.[11]
    • 2.3.0 fixes: glitchy animation, unlocalized text for the attribute filter, EXP not being required during forging in certain situations, a crash when rotating the Blaze Enchanter, Printers destroying their EXP when broken, and Sweeping Edge on a deployer doing extremely low damage to non-main targets.[11]
    • 2.2.5b: fixed a crashing EXP item giving no EXP liquid.[12]
