What is Create: Enchantment Industry?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Create: Enchantment Industry adds more tools and methods for handling experience and enchanting inside Create. Its project page says the mod currently offers these, so if you like automating everything with belts, spouts and deployers, you can automate enchanting too.[1]

The pack includes version 2.5.3b of the mod.[2]

What it adds

The project page lists what the mod currently offers. These are the features that matter most for a Create player:[1]

  • Liquid Experience, listed as a current feature: high-density experience that is easy to store and transport.[1]
  • Experience Hatch, listed as a current feature: lets you interact with a fluid tank directly, using your own experience.[1]
  • Mechanical Grindstone, listed as a current feature: a fully automated Grindstone with an extra sanding function.[1]
  • Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger, listed as current features: a blaze acts as a smart enchanting table and as a smart anvil.[1]
  • Printer, listed as a current feature: copies written books, enchanted books, name tags, train schedules and more.[1]
  • Experience Lantern, listed as a current feature: absorbs experience and also works on contraptions.[1]
  • Hyper-enchantmechanism, listed as a current feature: lets you break the limits of enchantments.[1]
  • Mending on belt: items with Mending can be repaired using a Spout and Liquid Experience.[1]
  • Deployer and Crushing Wheel tweak, listed as current features: their kills drop experience nuggets. Deployers also benefit from a sword with Sweeping Edge.[1]

The page also lists, among the features it currently offers, Apotheosis integration such as the Brass Bookshelf, Infuser and Gem Cutter, and an optional Classic Blaze Enchanter from the old v1.0 mod.[1]

Tip: The project page describes the mod in general, so its feature list may not match version 2.5.3b exactly. Check in game before you plan a build around a specific machine.[1][2]

Where it fits in the pack

Unverified The sources I have don't show any quests for this mod, and the mod isn't on the ATM Star path. There is also no in-jar guidebook to confirm progression details, so I can't say at what stage of the pack you're meant to reach it.

How do you get started with Create: Enchantment Industry?

5 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 7.0 guide

Welcome to Create: Enchantment Industry! This mod brings experience and enchanting into your Create factory. Almost everything here runs on one resource, Liquid Experience, which is high-density experience that's easy to store and move around. So your first goal is simple: start making Liquid Experience, then build the machines that use it.[1]

Step 1: Build a Mechanical Grindstone

Your first craft should be the Mechanical Grindstone. It's a fully automated grindstone with an extra sanding function, and it can strip enchantments off enchanted items. Most importantly, it turns experience items into Liquid Experience.[1][3][4]

Grind Nugget of Experience or Block of Experience and you get Liquid Experience back. Nuggets are easy to farm, because kills made by a Deployer or Crushing Wheel drop experience nuggets.[1][3]

Other ways to get Liquid Experience

If you already have bottles of enchanting, you can empty them to get Liquid Experience plus the glass bottle back.[3]

Emptying (create)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:emptying/experience_bottle

This pack also connects the mod to other experience sources. The pack has changed the recipes that empty Experience Droplet and grind Experience Gem and Greater Experience Gem into Liquid Experience. If you're already running those mods, this is a great head start.[3]

Step 2: Bank your own XP with an Experience Hatch

Next, grab an Experience Hatch. It lets you work directly with a fluid tank using your own experience, so you can store your levels as liquid and take them back out later. You make it with item application on a Fluid Hatch from Create: Dragons Plus, which this mod requires anyway.[1][3][4]

Item Application (create)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:item_application/experience_hatch

Step 3: Automate enchanting with the Blaze Enchanter

Once you have Liquid Experience flowing, it's time for the Blaze Enchanter. It works like an Enchanting Table and runs on Liquid Experience. Before enchanting, you set the enchant level on its panel. For reference, the level cap of a vanilla enchanting table is 30.[4]

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:smithing/blaze_enchanter

Tip: Higher isn't always better! Some enchantments won't appear when the Enchanting Level is too high, so experiment with the panel setting.[4]

The panel is also a filter slot. Put an item there to enter Template Enchanting Mode, and the Blaze Enchanter only produces enchantments that item supports. It can then add those enchantments to a blank Enchanting Template, which you press from a Block of Experience.[3][4]

Pressing (create)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:pressing/enchanting_template

What comes next

  • The Blaze Forger is a smart anvil. It can apply Enchanting Templates, merge two of the same item and strip enchantments off items.[1][3][4]
  • The Printer copies written books, enchanted books, name tags, train schedules and more.[1][3]
  • The Experience Lantern absorbs experience and also works on contraptions.[1][3]

How does Create: Enchantment Industry work?

8 parts

The mod's project page says it currently offers extra tools for handling experience and enchantment in Create, from a fluid form of experience to machines that enchant and forge. Here is how the main systems fit together in this pack.[1]

Liquid Experience

The project page currently lists Liquid Experience as high-density experience that is easy to store and transport. The in-game guide says the Blaze Enchanter and the Blaze Forger are activated by providing them with it. If you place the fluid in the world, the pack leaves kinetics.fluids.experienceVaporizeOnPlacement on, so it vaporizes into Experience Orbs upon placement.[1][5][6]

The Mechanical Grindstone is your main way to get the fluid. The project page currently describes it as a fully automated grindstone with an extra sanding function. In this pack it has grinding recipes that turn Nuggets and Blocks of Experience, and the Super Experience versions too, into Liquid Experience. It also grinds Ars Nouveau and Ars Technica experience gems into the fluid. The pack changes the two Ars Nouveau gem recipes.[1][7]

The mod's advancements describe watching an enchanted item be disenchanted by a Mechanical Grindstone, and obtaining Liquid Experience from Mechanical Grindstones. Its stress impact is set to 4 in the pack's config.[5][6]

Emptying works too. A vanilla bottle o' enchanting empties into Liquid Experience and leaves a glass bottle. The pack also adds an emptying recipe for the Mystical Agriculture experience droplet, which is a change from the mod's own recipes.[7]

Emptying a bottle o' enchanting gives you Liquid Experience and an empty glass bottle.

Getting experience in and out of your body

The Experience Hatch lets you interact with a fluid tank directly using your own experience. You can store experience in it and take it back out.[1][5]

Item Application (create)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:item_application/experience_hatch

The project page currently lists the Experience Lantern as absorbing experience and also working on contraptions. In this pack its tank capacity is the mod default of 1,000 mB. Its drain rate is 50 mB from a player per 0.5 tick, which is also the mod default.[1][6]

Blaze Enchanter

The in-game guide says the Blaze Enchanter functions like an Enchanting Table and is activated by providing it Liquid Experience. Its tank holds 4,000 mB, the mod default. The guide says the enchant level must be set via its panel before enchanting.[5][6]

Blaze EnchanterMod recipe

Smithing Transform

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:smithing/blaze_enchanter

The in-game guide notes that the level cap of a vanilla enchanting table is 30. In this pack, kinetics.enchantments.blazeEnchanterMaxEnchantLevel sets the max level the Blaze Enchanter can use in regular enchanting to 50 (mod default 30). In Super Enchanting, kinetics.enchantments.blazeEnchanterMaxSuperEnchantLevel sets it to 100 (mod default 60).[5][6]

The in-game guide says the panel is also a filter slot. Right-clicking it with an item designates that item as a template, a state called Template Enchanting Mode. In that mode the machine produces only enchantments supported by the template item. For example, diamond chest armor in the slot causes only diamond-chest-armor enchantments to be generated. The guide says that if you give it a blank Enchanting Template, those enchantments will be added to it.[5]

The in-game guide also says material matters. Golden chest armor has better enchantability than diamond chest armor, so it produces relatively better enchantments. It adds that a higher Enchanting Level is not always better, because some enchantments will not appear when the level is too high.[5]

Pressing (create)

Recipe id: create_enchantment_industry:pressing/enchanting_template

Blaze Forger

The Blaze Forger works like an anvil and also runs on Liquid Experience. It merges enchantments on the same item with no Repair Cost, and it can merge Enchanting Templates. Most importantly, it applies Enchanting Templates to items. It can also strip the enchantments from equipment, a book or a template onto a blank Enchanting Template. Its tank holds 4,000 mB in this pack.[5][6]

Super Enchanting

According to the in-game guide, both Blaze machines have two "stomachs". Feed one a Cake o' Enchanting and it will begin seething, which is known as Super Enchanting mode. The guide says the second tank can not be piped in for Liquid Experience, and an eligible Super Experience item such as the cake must be used.[5]

Watch out: Super Enchanting can cause lightning strikes, so place a Lightning Rod nearby. You can cover the Blaze Enchanter with a block to avoid the strikes, but then a curse may appear.[5]

The cake is made with a filling recipe that uses a Cake Base o' Enchanting. The pack changes the base's compacting recipe. You can slice a finished cake into Cake Slices o' Enchanting, and the pack also changes the Farmer's Delight knife-cutting recipe for that.[7]

Automation

Both Blaze machines can be automated with a Mechanical Arm. The arm can insert items for enchanting or forging, feed in experience fuel, and take out the finished item. On the Enchanter it can also extract invalid items.[5]

Tip: Remember that the in-game guide says the second Super Enchanting tank can not be piped in for Liquid Experience. An eligible Super Experience item, such as a Cake o' Enchanting, must be used instead.[5]

Printer

The Printer copies and edits things using Liquid Experience. It copies written books, enchanted books, name tags and train schedules, and it can rename items. It can also change a package's address and pattern. The pack raises its tank to 6,000 mB (mod default 4,000).[1][5][6]

Every Printer function is switched on in this pack. These are the toggles for custom names, enchanted books, written books, package address, package pattern and Create copiable items. Enchanted book printing costs are unchanged, with the cost multiplier at 1. The Printer's denylist stops denied enchanted books from being copied.[6]

Deployers and Crushing Wheels

Kills by a Deployer or a Crushing Wheel drop experience, and a Deployer can collect that experience as Experience Nuggets. All of this is enabled in the pack: kinetics.deployerKillDropXp, kinetics.deployerCollectXp, kinetics.deployerMineDropXp, kinetics.deployerSweepAttack and kinetics.crushingWheelKillDropXp. The Deployer scales kinetics.deployerKillXpScale and kinetics.deployerMineXpScale are both 1. The Crushing Wheel has its own kinetics.crushingWheelKillDropXpChance and kinetics.crushingWheelKillDropXpScale options, and the pack leaves both at the mod defaults. Items with Mending held by a Deployer can mend too (kinetics.deployerMendItem), as long as collecting experience is on. Mending items can also be repaired on a belt using a Spout and Liquid Experience.[1][6]

How do you progress through Create: Enchantment Industry?

5 parts

Unverified No quests in this pack involve this mod, and it is not on the main quest path. There is no quest-guided order to follow, so the tiers below are built from the in-pack recipes instead.

First: Get Liquid Experience flowing

Everything in this mod runs on Liquid Experience, so your first goal is a steady supply. The Mechanical Grindstone turns solid experience items into the liquid, so it's the first machine to build.[7]

  • Grind a Create Nugget of Experience or Block of Experience into Liquid Experience.[7]
  • Empty a bottle o' enchanting with a Create emptying recipe to get Liquid Experience and an empty glass bottle back.[7]
  • Empty a Mystical Agriculture experience droplet into Liquid Experience. The pack changed this recipe.[7]
  • Grind Ars Nouveau experience gems or greater experience gems into Liquid Experience. The pack changed both of these recipes.[7]
  • Grind Ars Technica giant or gargantuan experience gems into Liquid Experience. These recipes are unchanged from the mod.[7]

Next: Handling and storing experience

Once you have liquid flowing, you need ways to move it and use it. The Experience Hatch is made by applying a Block of Experience to a hatch from another mod, and the Experience Lantern is a regular crafting recipe.[7]

Then: Blaze Enchanter and Blaze Forger

The big machine upgrades are done at a smithing table. You upgrade a Blaze Burner into the Blaze Enchanter or the Blaze Forger. Both use the same kind of smithing template from another mod, so check the recipes before you go hunting for materials.[7]

The pack adds a Create mixing recipe from Productive Bees that produces a Super Experience nugget. The recipe dump lists no item inputs for it, so you'll need to check it in-game (for example in JEI) to see what it uses.[7]

Pressing a Block of Super Experience gives you the Super Enchanting Template, the upgraded counterpart of the basic template.[7]

Side branch: Cake o' Enchanting

If you want a more portable way to carry experience, there's a cake chain. The Cake Base o' Enchanting comes from a Create compacting recipe that the pack changed. From the base you get a Cake o' Enchanting, and cutting that gives Cake Slice o' Enchanting items.[7]

How does Create: Enchantment Industry work with other mods?

3 parts

Create: Enchantment Industry is built on top of Create, and it also needs Create: Dragons Plus to run. In this pack it links up with a few more mods, mostly as ways to get Liquid Experience or as crafting inputs. Here's what the in-pack recipes show.[1][7]

Create and Create: Dragons Plus

Most of the mod's machines are crafted from Create parts. The Mechanical Grindstone uses Andesite Alloy and a Shaft, and the Printer uses a Spout.[7]

Experience also ties into Create's own items. You can compact Liquid Experience into a Block of Experience. That block is then used for the Experience Lantern and the Enchanting Template. Going the other way, the Mechanical Grindstone turns a Block of Experience or a Nugget of Experience back into Liquid Experience.[7]

Which Create: Enchantment Industry config options matter?

6 parts

Same as in the All the Mons 1.0.1 guide

Most of this mod's settings live in one server config file, and this pack only changes three of them. Everything else stays at the mod default or is simply switched on. Here is what matters most.[8]

What the pack changed

Enchanting limits

kinetics.enchantments.enchantmentMaxLevelExtension is 1, the mod default. It extends the maximum enchantment level in Super Enchanting by that amount. kinetics.enchantments.ignoreEnchantmentCompatibility is true, so Super Enchanting and Super Forging ignore enchantment compatibility. kinetics.enchantments.splitEnchantmentRespectLevelExtension is false, so enchantment splitting does not respect the over-capped level.[8]

Fluid capacities

Apart from the Printer, the tanks are at their mod defaults. kinetics.fluids.blazeEnchanterFluidCapacity and kinetics.fluids.blazeForgerFluidCapacity are both 4,000 mB. kinetics.fluids.experienceLanternFluidCapacity is 1,000 mB. kinetics.fluids.experienceLanternDrainRate is 50, which is how much experience the lantern drains from a player per 0.5 tick.[8]

kinetics.fluids.experienceVaporizeOnPlacement is true, so Liquid Experience turns into Experience Orbs when you place it.[8]

Experience from Deployers and Crushing Wheels

Experience drops from both machines are enabled. For Crushing Wheels, kinetics.crushingWheelKillDropXp is true, and both kinetics.crushingWheelKillDropXpChance (the probability of a drop) and kinetics.crushingWheelKillDropXpScale (the scale of the dropped experience) are left at their mod defaults.[8]

For Deployers, kinetics.deployerKillDropXp, kinetics.deployerMineDropXp, kinetics.deployerCollectXp, kinetics.deployerMendItem and kinetics.deployerSweepAttack are all true. kinetics.deployerKillXpScale and kinetics.deployerMineXpScale are both 1.[8]

Tip: The config says Mending on a Deployer's held item needs deployerCollectXp to be true. It is true in this pack, so that setup works as it is.[8]

Printer settings

Every Printer function is enabled: enchanted book, written book, custom name, package address, package pattern and Create copiable item printing. For example, see kinetics.fluids.enableEnchantedBookPrinting and kinetics.fluids.enableWrittenBookPrinting. The remaining Printer options are at their mod defaults.[8]

Other values

kinetics.processing.regularLightningStrikeTransformXpBlockChance is 1, the mod default. It is the probability that a regular lightning strike transforms a Block of Experience. The stress impact values for kinetics.stressValues.v1.impact.mechanical_grindstone and kinetics.stressValues.v1.impact.grindstone_drain are both 4.[8]

What changed in Create: Enchantment Industry between versions?

3 parts

All the Mons 1.0.0-rc.6 ships Create: Enchantment Industry 2.3.1, and the mod has been in the pack since 0.3.0-beta or earlier. Below are the notable changes from the mod's own changelogs, newest first.[9]

2.3.1 (the version in this pack)

  • Made for Create 6.0.10.[10]
  • Added support for copying schematics.[10]
  • Fixed an item duplication bug with Sable.[10]
  • The changelog notes that if you can't install the mechanical grindstone while Sable is installed, you should wait for a new Sable release, which contains a fix for it.[10]

2.3.0

This update was made for Create 6.0.9 and added compat for Touhou Little Maid. It also fixed a good number of bugs:[11]

  • Fixed a glitchy animation.[11]
  • Fixed unlocalized text for the attribute filter.[11]
  • Fixed EXP not being required during forging in certain situations.[11]
  • Fixed a crash when rotating the Blaze Enchanter.[11]
  • Fixed breaking Printers destroying any EXP inside them.[11]
  • Fixed the Sweeping Edge enchantment on a deployer doing extremely low damage to non-main targets.[11]

2.2.5b

A small hotfix release: it fixed the crashing EXP item giving no EXP liquid.[12]
