What is Solar Flux Reborn?
1 part
Solar Flux Reborn adds solar panels that generate FE. The core mod comes with 8 tiers of panels, and the tiers can be fully configured, including their production and capacity. Panels that sit next to each other share their energy automatically, so you don't need cables. This pack includes version 20.1.11 of the mod.[1][2]
For scale, the mod's own defaults give Sp 1 a generation of 1 FE/tick and Sp 8 32,768 FE/tick. These are the mod's defaults, and the sources don't show whether this pack changes them, so check the in-game tooltips.[1][3]
The mod also has upgrades. The efficiency upgrade raises generation, the transfer rate and capacity upgrades raise those stats, and the traversal upgrade sends energy to machines within 5 blocks. The dispersive upgrade charges nearby players, and the furnace upgrade fuels the furnace below the panel. There is also an AE2 energy upgrade that connects a panel straight into an ME grid.[1]
Beyond the 8 core tiers, there are extra panels when Draconic Evolution or Avaritia is installed: Wyvern, Draconic and Chaotic, then Neutronium and Infinity.[1]
Where it sits in the quest book
The pack has a dedicated "SolarFlux Reborn" chapter in the "Storage and Power" group of the quest book.[3]
It starts with "Solar Flux Reborn - Introduction" quest, followed by "This is mirror!" quest, which asks for the Mirror. Several quests branch from there, including the first panel, Sp 1, and the first Photovoltaic Cell 1.[1][3]
The chapter then climbs the panel tiers up to Sp 8, with the upgrade quests in a separate branch that opens after the "Let's upgrade!" checkmark quest.[1][3]
The chapter ends with a chain that goes Sp De.Wyvern, Sp De.Draconic, Sp De.Chaotic, Sp Avaritia.Neutronium and finally Sp Avaritia.Infinity. Each of these comes after the previous one, and the Wyvern panel comes after Sp 8.[1][3]
The Infinity panel shows up a second time in the "EndGame" chapter, which is in the "Storyline" group. There it is a quest (a quest in "EndGame") that comes after "The Beginning of the End", alongside many of the creative-tier items. Some of the EndGame quests are not covered in this guide, so check that chapter in the quest book for the rest.[1][4]
How do you get started with Solar Flux Reborn?
3 parts
Solar Flux Reborn adds solar panels that generate FE. In this pack the quest book is your roadmap: the chapter "SolarFlux Reborn" sits in the Storage and Power group (chapter 24 of 44) and walks you from a first panel up through the upgrades. Here is the order I'd follow.[1][3]
Step by step
- Start with "Solar Flux Reborn - Introduction" quest, which is only an introduction checkmark. The quest after it, "This is mirror!" quest, asks you to hand in 3 Mirror, and most of the chapter branches off from there.[1][3]
- Next the book asks for your first panel, Sp 1. The quest for Sp 2 comes after it.[1][3]
- Then it asks for 3 Photovoltaic Cell 1. This quest also follows the mirror quest, and it comes before the quests for the third panel, Sp 3, and the efficiency upgrade.[1][3]
- After the "Let's upgrade!" checkmark, the book asks for a Blank Upgrade. The quests for the transfer rate, capacity and efficiency upgrades come after it.[1][3]
- Finally it asks for an Efficiency Upgrade in the quest "Power generation upgrade" quest, which the book itself calls "Most useful!". It comes after the blank upgrade and the first photovoltaic cell quests.[1][3]
Why start with the efficiency upgrade? The mod's project page says you can install up to 20 of them, and 20 of them give 2x generation.[1]
What the first panels give you
According to the mod's project page, Solar Panel I generates 1 FE/tick, transfers 8 FE/tick and stores 25,000 FE. Solar Panel II generates 8 FE/tick. The panels are fully configurable, and this pack has no Solar Flux config file in the material I was given, so treat these as the mod's listed values, not confirmed pack values.[1]
Where to go next
- The panel quests continue with Sp 2, then Sp 3, Sp 4 and so on. The book places the quests for Photovoltaic Cell 2 and Photovoltaic Cell 3 along the way.[1][3]
- The later cell quests come after special materials in the book. The quest for Photovoltaic Cell 4 follows Blazing Coating, the one for Photovoltaic Cell 5 follows Emerald Glass, and the one for Photovoltaic Cell 6 follows Ender Glass.[1][3]
- The Traversal Upgrade makes the panel output energy to attached machines within 5 blocks, according to the mod's project page. The Dispersive Upgrade charges nearby players. The book has quests for both.[1][3]
- After Sp 8, the book continues with the Draconic Evolution panels, starting with Sp De.Wyvern. That's a long way off, so don't rush it.[1][3]
How does Solar Flux Reborn work?
4 parts
Solar Flux Reborn is a simple, modular mod: you place solar panels, they generate FE (or RF), and you decide how that power gets out. Panels that sit next to each other share their energy automatically, so you don't need cables for that.[1]
The old cables were removed from the mod in the 4.xxx builds and moved to a separate mod, Cable Flux. So don't go looking for them here.[1]
Panel tiers
The core mod has 8 tiers of panel, and each tier has three stats: generation, transfer and capacity. The project page says the tiers and their numbers are fully configurable. The sources here include no config files for this mod in the pack, so treat the numbers below as the mod's listed values, not confirmed pack values.[1]
- Solar Panel I: 1 FE/tick generation, 8 FE/tick transfer, 25,000 FE capacity.[1]
- Solar Panel IV: 128 FE/tick generation, 1,024 FE/tick transfer, 2,000,000 FE capacity.[1]
- Solar Panel VIII: 32,768 FE/tick generation, 256,000 FE/tick transfer, 128,000,000 FE capacity.[1]
Past tier VIII, the mod adds extra panels for other mods. The Draconic Evolution line goes Wyvern (65,536 FE/tick), Draconic (131,072 FE/tick) and Chaotic (524,288 FE/tick, with 2,048,000,000 FE capacity). The Avaritia panels are the top of the range: the Neutronium panel makes 8,388,608 FE/tick and the Solar Panel of Infinity makes 16,777,216 FE/tick, with 262,144,000,000 FE capacity.[1]
The page also lists panel sets for Thaumcraft, Black Hole Storage and The Twilight Forest. The sources don't confirm whether those panels are available in this pack, so I'm leaving them out.[1]
Upgrades and getting power out
Panels take upgrades, and this is where most of the automation happens. The project page describes them like this:[1]
- Efficiency Upgrade: up to 20 can be installed, and 20 gives double generation.[1]
- Transfer Rate Upgrade: up to 10, and 10 gives 2.5x transfer.[1]
- Capacity Upgrade: up to 10, and 10 gives double capacity.[1]
- Traversal Upgrade: the panel outputs energy to attached machines within 5 blocks.[1]
- Dispersive Upgrade: the panel charges players nearby.[1]
- Block Charging Upgrade: you must link it to the target block before installing it. Once installed, the panel sends energy to that linked block within 16 blocks.[1]
- Furnace Upgrade: fuels the furnace below the panel.[1]
- AEU Energy Upgrade (needs Applied Energistics 2): lets you connect the panel directly into an ME Grid.[1]
How the pack handles the top-tier panels
The pack adds its own endgame recipes for the top panels, and they chain together: Draconic panels feed into the Chaotic panel, the Chaotic panel feeds into the Neutronium panel, and the Neutronium panel feeds into the Solar Panel of Infinity.[5][6][7]
First, the Sp De.Chaotic is made in an Extended Crafting combination recipe, and one craft gives you 4 panels.[7]
Combination (extendedcrafting)

Next, the Sp Avaritia.Neutronium is crafted on an Extended Crafting table, and one craft gives you 2 panels.[5][7]
Shaped Table (extendedcrafting)
Recipe id: solarflux:sp_avaritia.neutronium
Finally, the Sp Avaritia.Infinity is also crafted on an Extended Crafting table, and one craft gives you 4 panels.[6][7]
Shaped Table (extendedcrafting)
Recipe id: solarflux:sp_avaritia.infinity
Solar panels in other recipes
Solar Flux panels also show up as ingredients in the pack's Void Miners recipes. The solar versions of the Caerium, Amethystine and Rosarium panels each need a Solar Flux panel in their Extended Crafting recipe. For example, the Solar Rosarium Panel uses the Sp De.Draconic.[8]
Unverified Whether this pack changes the generation, transfer or capacity values of the Solar Flux Reborn panels is not shown in the available sources.
How do you progress through Solar Flux Reborn?
4 parts
The pack's quest book gives Solar Flux Reborn its own chapter, "SolarFlux Reborn", in the "Storage and Power" group (chapter 24 of 44, with 36 quests). It starts with an introduction quest and a short thank-you checkmark quest, and everything else branches from the "This is mirror!" quest quest, which asks for 3 Mirror.[3]
The panel line
The panel quests run in order, one panel each. The first is Sp 1, straight after the mirror quest. Then it climbs: Sp 2, Sp 3 and Sp 4. From Sp 4 the book splits into Sp 5, Sp 6 and Sp 7. Sp 8 comes after Sp 5 and the sixth photovoltaic cell.[3]
Most panel quests also wait on a photovoltaic cell quest. That means you are expected to craft the matching cell tier before the panel that needs it.[3]
Cells and glass
The cell quests each ask for 3 cells and form their own chain, from Photovoltaic Cell 1 up to Photovoltaic Cell 6. Two side materials gate the later cells:[3]
- Blazing Coating (3 needed) must be done before Photovoltaic Cell 4.[3]
- Emerald Glass (3 needed) must be done before Photovoltaic Cell 5.[3]
- Ender Glass (3 needed) comes after the emerald glass quest and must be done before Photovoltaic Cell 6.[3]
Upgrades
A checkmark quest called "Let's upgrade!" sits right after the mirror quest, and the upgrade quests are grouped around it. They include Blank Upgrade, Furnace Upgrade, Transfer Rate Upgrade, Capacity Upgrade, Energy Upgrade, Block Charging Upgrade, Traversal Upgrade and Dispersive Upgrade. The furnace upgrade also waits on the blazing coating quest, and the dispersive upgrade waits on the block charging upgrade.[3]
The quest "Power generation upgrade" quest asks for the Efficiency Upgrade. The book's own note on it is "Most useful!". It comes after the blank upgrade and the first photovoltaic cell.[3]
Beyond the numbered panels
After Sp 8 the chapter continues in a straight line: Sp De.Wyvern, then Sp De.Draconic, then Sp De.Chaotic, then Sp Avaritia.Neutronium, and finally Sp Avaritia.Infinity. Each quest unlocks after the one before it.[3]
The pack adds its own recipes for the last three of these. The chaotic panel is made with an Extended Crafting combination, and one craft gives 4 panels.[7]
Combination (extendedcrafting)
Recipe id: combination_solarflux:sp_de.chaotic
The neutronium panel is a pack script recipe in an Extended Crafting table, and one craft gives 2 panels.[5][7]
Shaped Table (extendedcrafting)
Recipe id: solarflux:sp_avaritia.neutronium
The Solar Panel of Infinity is also a pack script recipe in an Extended Crafting table, and one craft gives 4 panels.[6][7]
Shaped Table (extendedcrafting)

Unverified The in-pack recipes for the numbered panels, the Wyvern and Draconic panels, the photovoltaic cells, the glass and the upgrades were not available when this section was written, so they are not covered here.
How does Solar Flux Reborn work with other mods?
4 parts
Solar Flux Reborn mostly meets other mods at the very top of its panel ladder. The mod's own page says it integrates with Draconic Evolution, Avaritia and Applied Energistics 2, among others. In this pack you can see that in the recipes and the quest book, which is what this section covers.[1][3]
Draconic Evolution panels
The mod's page lists Wyvern, Draconic and Chaotic panels as its Draconic Evolution panels. After the eight standard panels, the quest chapter for the mod asks for them in that order: a quest in "SolarFlux Reborn" (after a quest in "SolarFlux Reborn"), then a quest in "SolarFlux Reborn", then a quest in "SolarFlux Reborn". Those ask for Sp De.Wyvern, Sp De.Draconic and Sp De.Chaotic.[1][3]
The Chaotic panel is made with an Extended Crafting combination recipe that the pack adds. It combines Draconic panels with cores from Draconic Evolution and gives you 4 Chaotic panels per craft.[7]
Combination (extendedcrafting)
Recipe id: combination_solarflux:sp_de.chaotic
Avaritia panels
The quest chain keeps going from the Chaotic panel to Sp Avaritia.Neutronium. The pack's own script adds this recipe to an Extended Crafting table, and it consumes a Chaotic panel. The rest of the ingredients come from many mods: Avaritia, Actually Additions empowered crystal blocks, Botania's Gaia Spirit Ingot, Mystical Expansion ingots and some KubeJS items. One craft gives you 2 panels.[3][5][7]
Shaped Table (extendedcrafting)
Recipe id: solarflux:sp_avaritia.neutronium
Sp Avaritia.Infinity is the last panel in the chain. It is another pack-script recipe in an Extended Crafting table. It takes a Neutronium panel plus Avaritia, Extended Crafting and ArmorPlus items, and one craft gives you 4 panels.[3][6][7]
Shaped Table (extendedcrafting)
Recipe id: solarflux:sp_avaritia.infinity
The Infinity panel, crafted with the pack recipe above, also shows up as a task in the EndGame chapter, in a quest in "EndGame", which comes after a quest called The Beginning of the End. That chapter is in the Storyline group.[4][6]
Void Miners solar panels
Three Void Miners solar panels each need one of the Solar Flux panels. The pack has changed all three recipes, and they are made in Extended Crafting tables.[7]
- Solar Caerium Panel needs Sp 8.[7]
- Solar Amethystine Panel needs Sp De.Wyvern and also uses the Solar Caerium Panel.[7]
- Solar Rosarium Panel needs Sp De.Draconic and also uses the Solar Amethystine Panel.[7]

The EndGame chapter also has "Void Miners Ultimate Blocks" quest, which asks you to bring Solar Ultimate Block and Ultimate Block.[4][7]
Applied Energistics 2
The mod's page lists Applied Energistics 2 among its integrations. The panel chapter's quest a quest in "SolarFlux Reborn" asks you for Energy Upgrade. It follows the untitled checkmark quest that is itself titled "Let's upgrade!".[1][3]
The pack also uses the Infinity panel as one ingredient in the recipe for the Creative ME Item Cell. That recipe is added by the pack, made in an Extended Crafting table, and needs items from a long list of other mods.[7]

Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use Solar Flux Reborn?
5 parts
Solar Flux Reborn has its own chapter in the pack's quest book, called SolarFlux Reborn. It sits in the Storage and Power group, chapter 24 of 44, and holds 36 quests. Most of them ask you to hand in items from the mod. The mod also appears once in the EndGame chapter, covered at the end of this section.[3][4]
Where the SolarFlux Reborn chapter starts
The chapter opens with a checkmark quest, "Solar Flux Reborn - Introduction" quest. Next is "This is mirror!" quest, which asks you for 3 of Mirror. Almost every other quest in the chapter comes after it. Separately, a checkmark quest with no prerequisite, a quest in "SolarFlux Reborn", carries the text "Thank you a lot!".[3]
Straight after the mirror quest, the book gives you five quests to pick from:[3]
- a quest in "SolarFlux Reborn" asks you for 3 of Blazing Coating.[3]
- a quest in "SolarFlux Reborn" asks you for 3 of Photovoltaic Cell 1.[3]
- a quest in "SolarFlux Reborn" asks you for 3 of Emerald Glass.[3]
- a quest in "SolarFlux Reborn" asks you for one Sp 1.[3]
- a quest in "SolarFlux Reborn" is a checkmark quest with the text "Let's upgrade!".[3]
The solar panel quests
The panel quests each ask for a single panel and follow one another: Sp 1, then Sp 2, then Sp 3, then Sp 4. After that, the quests for Sp 5, Sp 6 and Sp 7 each come after the sp_4 quest plus one of the photovoltaic cell quests. The Sp 8 quest comes after the sp_5 quest and the cell 6 quest.[3]
After the sp_8 quest, the chain continues with one quest each for Sp De.Wyvern, Sp De.Draconic, Sp De.Chaotic, Sp Avaritia.Neutronium and finally Sp Avaritia.Infinity, in that order.[3]
Photovoltaic cell and glass quests
The cell quests each ask you for 3 cells, from Photovoltaic Cell 1 up to Photovoltaic Cell 6, and follow one another in order. Some also come after a side quest:[3]
- The cell 4 quest also comes after the blazing coating quest.[3]
- The cell 5 quest also comes after the emerald glass quest.[3]
- The cell 6 quest also comes after a quest in "SolarFlux Reborn", which asks you for 3 of Ender Glass and itself comes after the emerald glass quest.[3]
Upgrade quests
a quest in "SolarFlux Reborn" asks you for a Blank Upgrade and comes after the "Let's upgrade!" checkmark. Several quests come after it: Transfer Rate Upgrade, Capacity Upgrade, a further checkmark quest, and "Power generation upgrade" quest. That last one asks you for the Efficiency Upgrade, also comes after the cell 1 quest, and carries the text "Most useful!".[3]
The other upgrade quests come after the "Let's upgrade!" checkmark. The Furnace Upgrade quest also comes after the blazing coating quest. The quests for Energy Upgrade, Block Charging Upgrade and Traversal Upgrade need only the checkmark. The Dispersive Upgrade quest needs the checkmark plus the block charging upgrade quest. Each of these asks you for one upgrade.[3]
The EndGame chapter
The EndGame chapter is in the Storyline group, chapter 7 of 44, and holds 70 quests. It contains a quest in "EndGame", which asks you for Sp Avaritia.Infinity. It comes after "The Beginning of the End" quest, the same prerequisite as many of the creative-item quests in that chapter.[4]
This quest is also one of those listed before the chapter's closing quest, a quest in "EndGame", whose text reads "The Culmination of all of your efforts. Be Proud!".[4]
What changed in Solar Flux Reborn between versions?
1 part
Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2 ships Solar Flux Reborn 20.1.11 (file SolarFluxReborn-1.20.1-20.1.11.jar). The mod was first included in Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.45.4 or earlier.[2]
Solar Flux Reborn 20.1.11
This is the version you're running, and the mod's own changelog lists two changes. Both are behind-the-scenes fixes, so you won't see new panels or recipes here.[2][9]
- A configuration plugin was added so that compat mixins are not applied when the mod they relate to isn't loaded.[9]
- Code cleanup in SolarPanelTileMixin: deprecated calls to PowerUnits.RF were replaced with FE, and an unused shadow method for capacity was removed.[9]
Unverified No pack changelog entries for this mod were available, so any changes to Solar Flux Reborn between individual pack releases are unverified.
