What is Evolved Mekanism APT Only?
1 part
Evolved Mekanism APT Only is in the pack as version 1.2.3-fix3 (the 1.20.1 jar). The sources I have don't include a description of the mod or an in-jar guide, so I can only tell you what the pack itself shows. The mod adds a set of alloys and ingots that the pack's quest book asks you to collect.[1][2]
Where the quest book puts it
The mod has no chapter of its own. Its items show up in the "Extended Crafting" chapter, which sits in the "Production" group and is chapter 37 of 44 in the book. That chapter has 248 quests. It opens with a checkmark quest called "Welcome to Extended Crafting", and most of the rest ask you to hand in a single ingot or alloy, or an Extended Crafting singularity.[2]
Six of those quests ask for items from this mod:[2]
- a quest in "Extended Crafting" asks for Singular Alloy.[2]
- a quest in "Extended Crafting" asks for Subatomic Alloy.[2]
- a quest in "Extended Crafting" asks for Exoversal Alloy.[2]
- a quest in "Extended Crafting" asks for Hypercharged Alloy.[2]
- a quest in "Extended Crafting" asks for Better Gold Ingot.[2]
- a quest in "Extended Crafting" asks for Plaslitherite Ingot.[2]
These sit alongside ingot quests for many other mods, such as Mekanism's own refined glowstone and refined obsidian ingots. The book lists 114 more quests in this chapter that I can't show here, so check the quest book in game for the full list and how the chapters connect.[2]
How do you get started with Evolved Mekanism APT Only?
5 parts
Evolved Mekanism builds a ladder of alloys and machines on top of Mekanism. This section walks the chain in the order the recipes force on you. The alloy tiers go Hypercharged Alloy, then Subatomic Alloy, then Singular Alloy, then Exoversal Alloy. Each one is made from the one before it.[3]
Build the Alloyer
Start with the Alloyer. It is a crafting-table recipe built on Mekanism machines, so you need the Mekanism basics first. It matters later too, because it is one of the ingredients of the Chemixer.[3]

Climb the alloy ladder
Hypercharged Alloy is made by Metallurgic Infusing. It takes 20 of a uranium item plus a Mekanism atomic alloy.[3]

Recipe id: evolvedmekanism:metallurgic_infusing/alloy/hypercharged
Next comes Subatomic Alloy, made in a nucleosynthesizing recipe from a hypercharged alloy and antimatter. You need a source of antimatter before you can go further.[3]

Get Better Gold from the APT
Better Gold Dust is made in the APT from gold dust and spent nuclear waste. The APT also makes the ingot and the block versions. You can turn the dust into Better Gold Ingot by smelting or blasting it, and the pack also adds an alloy smelting recipe for it.[3]
Apt (evolvedmekanism)
- Spent Nuclear Waste
- any gold dust
Recipe id: evolvedmekanism:apt/dust_better_gold
To build the APT you need APT Casing, which is made from antimatter and an SPS Casing. Add an APT Port for moving energy and substances in and out.[3][4]

The pack's config sets the APT's base recipe duration to 200 ticks (general.apt.defaultDuration) and its energy storage to 10,000,000 Joules (general.apt.energyStorage).[5]
Make the Chemixer
With the Alloyer and a Singular Alloy in hand, you can craft the Chemixer. It also takes a dense circuit and an osmium ingot. The Chemixer runs the recipe for Plaslitherite Ingot, and Plaslitherite is what takes Singular Alloy up to Exoversal Alloy (20 Plaslitherite per alloy).[3]

In the quest book
The Extended Crafting chapter (group Production, chapter 37 of 44) has item quests for a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting", plus a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting". The Ultimate Ingot quest, "The one and only" quest, comes after the quests for these alloys and for Better Gold Ingot.[2]
How does Evolved Mekanism APT Only work?
7 parts
The big system in this mod is the APT, the Antimatter Protomolecular Transmutator. It's a multiblock built from APT Casing and APT Port, with optional speed boosters on top. Alongside it sit two smaller machines, the Alloyer and the Chemixer. Here's how they work in this pack.[4]
The APT multiblock
The casing is described as reinforced antimattered casing that resists intense chemical and thermal effects from transmutating reactions. The port is described as the part used for transferring energy and substances in the APT, so that's where your power and your chemical inputs connect.[4]
You craft the casing in a nucleosynthesizer, and the port is a normal crafting recipe built on the casing.[3]

Power, tank and recipe time
The APT's numbers come from the mod's general config file as set in this pack. The internal energy buffer is set by general.apt.energyStorage, which is 10,000,000 Joules here.[5]
general.apt.energyPerInput is 100,000 Joules, described as the energy needed per tick to process the recipe. So the APT is a hungry machine and needs a strong power supply behind it.[5]
For chemicals, general.apt.inputPerAntimatter is set to 5,000 and is described as how much gas, in mB, the input tank can hold.[5]
Recipe time is set by general.apt.defaultDuration, which is 200 ticks here. The config gives the formula as defaultDuration * (gasInputAmount / 100), so a recipe that takes more gas input runs for longer.[5]
Supercharging elements
Supercharging Element MK1 blocks speed up the APT. Each placed MK1 element grants +25% processing speed, and the effects stack additively. You can add single elements one at a time, and you don't need to place all 25 at once. This matches general.apt.mk1Percent, which is 25 in this pack.[4][5]
Supercharging Element MK2 is the upgrade. Each one grants +250% processing speed, also additive, and even single MK2 blocks already give a large boost. This matches general.apt.mk2Percent, which is 250 here. Both percentage options accept values from 0 to 100,000.[4][5]
You make the MK2 element in the APT itself, not at a crafting table.[3]

Alloyer and Chemixer
The Alloyer runs recipes of the type evolvedmekanism:alloying. The ones shown here have a main input plus two extra inputs. The pack adds its own alloying recipes, including one that makes the Creative Alloy.[3][6][7]
Alloying (evolvedmekanism)
Recipe id: alloying_evolvedmekanism:alloy_creative
The pack also uses alloying for cross-mod crafting. A script adds an alloying recipe for Thermal Extra's abyssal block. A data file adds one for Thermal's enderium ingot, which gives 2 per craft and only loads if Thermal is installed.[6][7]
The Chemixer is crafted from the Alloyer, so you build it after you have one. It handles chemixing recipes, and the Plaslitherite Block is made this way, from 3 HDPE sheets, liquid lithium and a netherite block.[3]

Better Gold processing
Better Gold dust becomes Enriched Better Gold in an enriching machine, and an ingot can be crushed back into dust. You can turn the dust into an ingot in a furnace or a blast furnace. The pack also adds an Ender IO alloy smelting recipe for it, and a recipe that turns a compressed enriched Better Gold item into 9 enriched ones.[3]

How do you progress through Evolved Mekanism APT Only?
5 parts
Evolved Mekanism stacks extra alloy tiers on top of Mekanism's own Infused, Reinforced and Atomic alloys. In this pack the ladder runs from Atomic to Hypercharged Alloy, then Subatomic Alloy, then Singular Alloy, then Exoversal Alloy, and finally Creative Alloy. Each tier is crafted from the one below it.[3]
Where it starts: the Mekanism chapter
The base of the ladder is in the Mekanism quest chapter (group Storage and Power, chapter 19 of 44 in the book). a quest in "Mekanism" comes after the Metallurgic Infuser quest, a quest in "Mekanism" follows it, and a quest in "Mekanism" follows that. The same chapter has a quest in "Mekanism" for Refined Redstone Ingot, which comes after the Osmium Compressor quest.[8]
The pack also adds its own recipes for the alloy storage blocks. From Reinforced upward, each block is built from the block of the tier below, using metallurgic infusing, and the Subatomic block uses nucleosynthesizing. The Infused block starts from an iron block instead. These are pack changes, not mod defaults.[3]
Climbing the tiers
- Hypercharged: metallurgic infusing turns an Atomic-tier alloy into Hypercharged Alloy, with uranium as the extra input.[3]
- Subatomic: nucleosynthesizing turns Hypercharged into Subatomic Alloy, with antimatter as the extra input.[3]
- Singular: metallurgic infusing turns Subatomic into Singular Alloy, with Better Gold as the extra input.[3]
- Exoversal: metallurgic infusing turns Singular into Exoversal Alloy, with Plaslitherite as the extra input.[3]
- Creative: Creative Alloy has an alloying recipe that the pack added, covered further down.[3]

In the quest book, Hypercharged, Subatomic, Singular and Exoversal all have quests in the Extended Crafting chapter (group Production, chapter 37 of 44). So do Better Gold and Plaslitherite. None of them lists a prerequisite there. They are all prerequisites of "The one and only" quest, the Ultimate Ingot quest, so you will be making them on the way to it. Their quests are a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting", a quest in "Extended Crafting" and a quest in "Extended Crafting".[2]
Getting Better Gold and Plaslitherite
Better Gold Ingot comes from an APT recipe that processes a gold ingot together with spent nuclear waste. The APT also makes the dust and the block. You can then smelt the dust back into an ingot, and the pack adds an extra smelting route for that in the Ender IO alloy smelter.[3]
Apt (evolvedmekanism)
- Spent Nuclear Waste
- any gold ingot
Recipe id: evolvedmekanism:apt/ingot_better_gold
Plaslitherite Ingot is made in the Chemixer. The recipe uses HDPE Pellets, liquid lithium and a netherite ingot, so the HDPE Pellet quest in the Mekanism chapter is worth doing first.[3][8]
Chemixing (evolvedmekanism)

The Chemixer recipe needs an alloy from the Singular tag and a dense control circuit. It is built on the Alloyer. So you need Singular before you can make Plaslitherite, and you need Plaslitherite for Exoversal.[3]

The top: Creative Alloy
a quest in "EndGame" sits in the EndGame chapter (group Storyline, chapter 7 of 44) and unlocks after "The Beginning of the End" quest. It is also one of the prerequisites of a quest in "EndGame", the final quest of that chapter.[9]
The pack added its own alloying recipe for Creative Alloy. It takes the Infinity 10 item, which comes from a quest in "EndGame", so you need to be well along the Infinity chain first.[3][9]

What the tiers feed into
- Dense Control Circuit is crafted from a Singular-tier alloy and a quantum circuit.[3]
- Supercharging Element MK1 uses Singular Alloy, and Supercharging Element MK2 is made from it in the APT with antimatter.[3]
- The giant Compact Machines recipe in this pack uses Hypercharged Alloy Block.[10]
How does Evolved Mekanism APT Only work with other mods?
6 parts
Evolved Mekanism's alloys and metals are used well beyond Mekanism itself. In this pack they turn up in recipes from a lot of other mods, and many of the big ones are crafted at an Extended Crafting table.[3]
Mekanism and Evolved Mekanism together
Several of the mod's own recipes mix in Mekanism materials. Better Gold Block comes from an APT recipe that uses Mekanism's spent nuclear waste. Plaslitherite Block comes from a chemixing recipe that uses Mekanism's HDPE sheets and liquid lithium. Subatomic Alloy comes from a Mekanism nucleosynthesizing recipe that takes Mekanism antimatter.[3]

Recipes the pack added or changed
- Just Dire Things: the pack adds recipes for Time Wand and Upgrade: Ore X-Ray. Both use Exoversal Alloy and Spectrum Alloy, and the Ore X-Ray upgrade also uses Better Gold Ingot.[3]
- Curvy Pipes: the pack adds the recipe for Huge Energy Pipe, which needs Hypercharged Alloy together with large energy pipes.[3]
- Avaritia: the pack changed the Infinity Ingot recipe, and it now includes Better Gold Ingot.[3]
- Blood Magic Addon: the pack adds the Blood Generator recipe, which uses Exoversal Alloy and Plaslitherite Ingot.[3]
- Thermal: a pack data file adds an Evolved Mekanism alloying recipe for Enderium Ingot that makes 2 per craft. It only loads when Thermal is installed.[6]

Compact Mekanism Machines
The compact multiblocks lean heavily on Evolved Mekanism alloys. Both pack-added Compact Fission Reactor recipes use Exoversal, Hypercharged, Singular and Subatomic alloys, plus Dense and Multiversal control circuits. The pack also changed the Compact Industrial Turbine recipe, which now uses Hypercharged Alloy.[3]
The wind generator chain from Wind Generator x512 up to Wind Generator x131072 was changed by the pack too, and every step uses Evolved Mekanism items. The x512 step uses Hypercharged Alloy, and the x2048 step uses Overclocked Control Circuit. The x8192 and x32768 steps both use Plaslitherite Ingot, and the top step uses Exoversal, Hypercharged, Singular and Subatomic alloys.[3]

Infinity 9 research
The pack adds a Crazy AE2 Addons research recipe that unlocks Infinity 9. Among its consumables are 64 Better Gold Block and 64 Plaslitherite Block.[3][11]
In the quest book
The "Extended Crafting" chapter (group "Production", chapter 37 of 44) has quests for this mod's metals, including a quest in "Extended Crafting" (Singular Alloy), a quest in "Extended Crafting" (Subatomic Alloy), a quest in "Extended Crafting" (Exoversal Alloy), a quest in "Extended Crafting" (Hypercharged Alloy), a quest in "Extended Crafting" (Better Gold Ingot) and a quest in "Extended Crafting" (Plaslitherite Ingot). They sit among the chapter's many other ingot quests, which include Mekanism Extras alloys such as a quest in "Extended Crafting" (Radiance Alloy). The chapter has 248 quests in total, and the text of most of them is in the quest book.[2]
Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use Evolved Mekanism APT Only?
3 parts
Evolved Mekanism items turn up in three chapters of the pack's quest book. In each one, the quest asks you to bring in the finished item. Here they are in book order.[2][8][9]
EndGame (Storyline, chapter 7 of 44)
a quest in "EndGame" asks for the Creative Alloy. It comes after "The Beginning of the End" quest, and many of the other creative-item quests in this chapter come after that same quest.[9]
The Creative Alloy quest is also listed among the prerequisites of a quest in "EndGame", which asks for the Creative ME Item Cell.[9]
Mekanism (Storage and Power, chapter 19 of 44)
This chapter has one Evolved Mekanism quest: a quest in "Mekanism", which asks for the Refined Redstone Ingot. It comes after a quest in "Mekanism", which in turn follows one of the chapter's untitled checkmark quests.[8]
The Osmium Compressor quest also leads to a quest in "Mekanism" and a quest in "Mekanism", so the three refined ingot quests sit side by side. No other quest in the chapter lists the Refined Redstone Ingot quest as a prerequisite.[8]
Extended Crafting (Production, chapter 37 of 44)
This chapter has the most Evolved Mekanism quests: six of them, among the many ingot quests it holds. None of the six lists a prerequisite, so the book does not put them in any set order.[2]
- a quest in "Extended Crafting": asks for the Singular Alloy.[2]
- a quest in "Extended Crafting": asks for the Subatomic Alloy.[2]
- a quest in "Extended Crafting": asks for the Exoversal Alloy.[2]
- a quest in "Extended Crafting": asks for the Hypercharged Alloy.[2]
- a quest in "Extended Crafting": asks for the Better Gold Ingot.[2]
- a quest in "Extended Crafting": asks for the Plaslitherite Ingot.[2]
Five of those quests (the four alloys and the Better Gold Ingot) are on the long list of prerequisites for "The one and only" quest, which asks for The Ultimate Ingot. The Plaslitherite Ingot quest is not on that list.[2]
The Ultimate Ingot is also what "One Small Step" quest in the EndGame chapter asks for.[2][9]
Which Evolved Mekanism APT Only config options matter?
3 parts
Evolved Mekanism has two config files that matter here: general.toml for the APT machine and tools.toml for the tool and armor materials. The values below are exactly what this pack ships. The sources don't show the mod's own defaults, so I can't tell you which of these the pack changed.[5][12]
APT machine settings (general.toml)
These options control how the APT behaves. If a recipe feels slow or power hungry, start here.[5]
- general.apt.defaultDuration is 200 ticks. The recipe time is worked out as this value times (gas input amount divided by 100).[5]
- general.apt.energyPerInput is 100,000 Joules, the energy needed per tick to process the recipe.[5]
- general.apt.energyStorage is 10,000,000 Joules, the amount the APT can store.[5]
- general.apt.inputPerAntimatter is 5,000 mB, which the config describes as how much gas the input tank can hold.[5]
- general.apt.mk1Percent is 25, so each MK1 element contributes 25%.[5]
- general.apt.mk2Percent is 250, so each MK2 element contributes 250%.[5]
Tool and armor materials (tools.toml)
The pack sets stats for Better Gold, Plaslitherite and Refined Redstone. Each material has its own block with armor values, durability, attack damage and speed for every tool type, plus paxels and shields.[12]
- Better Gold durability: tools have 8,192 max uses (tools.better_gold.better_goldToolMaxUses) and paxels have 16,384 (tools.better_gold.better_goldPaxelMaxUses).[12]
- Better Gold armor protection: helmets 8 (tools.better_gold.better_goldHelmetArmor), chestplates 12 (tools.better_gold.better_goldChestplateArmor), leggings 10 (tools.better_gold.better_goldLeggingArmor) and boots 7 (tools.better_gold.better_goldBootArmor). Toughness is 5 (tools.better_gold.better_goldToughness).[12]
- Plaslitherite durability: tools have 16,384 max uses (tools.plaslitherite.plaslitheriteToolMaxUses) and paxels have 32,768 (tools.plaslitherite.plaslitheritePaxelMaxUses).[12]
- Plaslitherite armor protection: helmets 10 (tools.plaslitherite.plaslitheriteHelmetArmor), chestplates 14 (tools.plaslitherite.plaslitheriteChestplateArmor), leggings 12 (tools.plaslitherite.plaslitheriteLeggingArmor) and boots 9 (tools.plaslitherite.plaslitheriteBootArmor). Toughness is 5 (tools.plaslitherite.plaslitheriteToughness) and knockback resistance is 0.25 (tools.plaslitherite.plaslitheriteKnockbackResistance).[12]
- Refined Redstone durability: tools have 384 max uses (tools.refined_redstone.refined_redstoneToolMaxUses) and paxels have 768 (tools.refined_redstone.refined_redstonePaxelMaxUses).[12]
- Refined Redstone armor protection: helmets 3 (tools.refined_redstone.refined_redstoneHelmetArmor), chestplates 8 (tools.refined_redstone.refined_redstoneChestplateArmor), leggings 6 (tools.refined_redstone.refined_redstoneLeggingArmor) and boots 3 (tools.refined_redstone.refined_redstoneBootArmor). Toughness is 0 (tools.refined_redstone.refined_redstoneToughness) and knockback resistance is 0 (tools.refined_redstone.refined_redstoneKnockbackResistance).[12]
- Tool efficiency is 8 for Better Gold (tools.better_gold.better_goldEfficiency) and Plaslitherite (tools.plaslitherite.plaslitheriteEfficiency), and 5 for Refined Redstone (tools.refined_redstone.refined_redstoneEfficiency).[12]
- Sword damage modifiers are 14 for Better Gold (tools.better_gold.better_goldSwordDamage), 16 for Plaslitherite (tools.plaslitherite.plaslitheriteSwordDamage) and 7 for Refined Redstone (tools.refined_redstone.refined_redstoneSwordDamage).[12]
Mob armor spawning
For Better Gold, Plaslitherite and Refined Redstone alike, the chances for mobs to spawn with helmets, chestplates, leggings and boots are set to 0. The multiple piece chances, the armor and weapon enchantment chances and the sword weight are also 0. The only exception is canSpawnWeapon, which is true for each material. An example is tools.mobArmorSpawnRate.plaslitherite.helmetChance, which is 0.[12]
