Redstone Arsenal is a mod in Project Infinity 0.1 0.0.51.4-hotfix-2, where it is version 8.0.1. RSA (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is Redstone Arsenal?

1 part

Redstone Arsenal adds tools and weaponry that harness the power of Redstone Flux, the energy system added by CoFH and Thermal Expansion. It needs CoFH Core to run. This pack ships Redstone Arsenal 8.0.1.[1][2]

Where the quest book puts it

The pack's quest book doesn't give Redstone Arsenal a chapter of its own. Its items show up as steps in two chapters of the Production group, and the main one is "AllTheModium", chapter 36 of 44.[3][4]

  1. The chain starts at "Allthemodium Intro" quest, the chapter's intro quest.[3]
  2. Next comes a quest in "AllTheModium", which asks for Flux-Infused Dust and unlocks right after the intro.[3]
  3. After that is a quest in "AllTheModium", which asks for Flux-Infused Ingot.[3]
  4. The Flux-Infused Ingot quest is one of five prerequisites for a quest in "AllTheModium". The other four are the Energetic Alloy Ingot, Refined Glowstone Ingot, Soul Infused Ingot and Nitro Crystal quests.[3]

So in this pack the flux ingot is a stepping stone on the way to Allthemodium, and you don't need the mod's tools and weapons for it.[3]

The flux ingot appears a second time in the "Extended Crafting" chapter, which is chapter 37 of 44 in the same Production group. There it sits as a quest in "Extended Crafting" among a long run of ingot quests. That chapter has 248 quests in total, and the rest of its text is in the quest book.[4]

How do you get started with Redstone Arsenal?

5 parts

Redstone Arsenal is all about Flux-Infused gear, and in this pack almost everything grows out of one material: the Flux-Infused Ingot. The pickaxe, sword, axe, shovel and sickle each take that ingot plus a Flux-Infused Obsidian Rod, so those two items are your first targets. Here is the order I'd go in.[5]

Step 1: Flux-Infused Dust

Start with Flux-Infused Dust. It's a shapeless crafting recipe, so no machine is needed.[5]

Crafting Shapeless

  • any gold dust
  • any redstone dust
  • any redstone dust
  • any redstone dust
  • any redstone dust
  • any redstone dust

Recipe id: redstone_arsenal:materials/flux_dust

The quest book points the same way. In the AllTheModium chapter (group Production), the quest a quest in "AllTheModium" asks you to obtain the dust, and it comes right after the chapter intro.[3]

Step 2: Turn the dust into an ingot

Smelt the dust to get your Flux-Infused Ingot. A normal furnace works, and so does a blast furnace.[5]

Smelting

Recipe id: redstone_arsenal:smelting/flux_ingot_from_dust_smelting

Blasting

Recipe id: redstone_arsenal:smelting/flux_ingot_from_dust_blasting

If you already have an Ender IO Alloy Smelter, the pack adds its own recipe for this too. It's not part of the mod's defaults.[5]

Alloy Smelting (enderio)

The quest a quest in "AllTheModium" asks you to obtain this ingot, and the Allthemodium Ingot quest in the same chapter comes after it. So the ingot is worth having for the quest book too.[3]

Step 3: Flux-Infused Gem

Next, make a Flux-Infused Gem. You need it for the Flux-Infused Obsidian Rod, and the shield and the armor pieces also use it.[5]

  • any diamond gem
  • any redstone dust
  • any redstone dust

Step 4: The rods

This is a two-part job. First craft a plain Obsidian Rod, then combine it with the gem to get the Flux-Infused Obsidian Rod.[5]

Step 5: Your first tool

With an ingot and a Flux rod in hand, you can craft your first piece of gear. The Flux-Infused Pickaxe and the Flux-Infused Sword are good places to start.[5]

Tip: Ingots and gems can be stored compactly. Nine ingots make a Flux-Infused Metal Block, and a block breaks back into nine ingots. The Flux-Infused Excavator and Flux-Infused Hammer each need one of those blocks, so plan ahead for them.[5]

How does Redstone Arsenal work?

4 parts

Redstone Arsenal is a tools and weapons mod. It adds gear that harnesses Redstone Flux, the energy system from CoFH and Thermal Expansion, and it needs CoFH Core to run.[1]

The sources here don't show any machines or multiblocks added by this mod. What they do show is a material chain: you make flux materials, then craft them into gear. The pack also reuses those materials in several late-game recipes. That's what this section covers.[5][6]

Unverified How much energy the flux tools store, how they charge, and how the empowered state works are not shown by the sources here, and this pack has no config file for the mod. The language file only has sounds for a Flux Tool powering up and down, and for Flux Shielding cracking and recharging.

Making flux materials

Everything starts with Flux-Infused Dust, which you craft by hand.[5]

The pack adds its own Ender IO alloy smelting recipe for the same dust-to-ingot step. Thermal's smelter handles it too, and there is a second smelter recipe that makes the ingot directly.[5]

Where the pack uses flux materials

The pack pulls Redstone Arsenal items into recipes from other mods, so the flux chain matters beyond the tools themselves.[7][8][9][10][11]

  • The pack's Ender IO script makes Pulsating Crystal from flux ingots, among other ingredients.[7]
  • Flux ingots are among the ingredients in the pack's Extended Crafting table recipe for Allthemodium Ingot.[8]
  • The flux bow is one of the many bows in the pack's Extended Crafting recipe for Longbow of the Heavens, and the flux shovel is one of the shovels in the recipe for Planet Eater.[9][10]
  • A pack-added PneumaticCraft pressure chamber recipe uses a flux metal block among its ingredients to make an Extended Crafting advanced table.[11]

How do you progress through Redstone Arsenal?

7 parts

Redstone Arsenal in this pack is one clear ladder: make Flux-Infused Dust, turn it into ingots and gems, craft a few shared parts, then build the tools, weapons and armor. The sources don't show separate numbered tiers, so I'll walk you through it in the order you'll hit it.[5]

Where the quest book puts it

The quests sit in the "AllTheModium" chapter, in the Production group. After the chapter's intro quest comes a quest in "AllTheModium", which asks you to hand in Flux-Infused Dust. Next is a quest in "AllTheModium", which asks for Flux-Infused Ingot.[3][5]

That ingot quest is one of five that lead into a quest in "AllTheModium". The other four are Energetic Alloy Ingot, Refined Glowstone Ingot, Soul Infused Ingot and Nitro Crystal. The pack's Allthemodium Ingot recipe uses those same five ingredients. From the Allthemodium Ingot the chapter goes on to Vibranium and the later Allthemodium items.[3][8]

The Extended Crafting chapter (also in the Production group) has its own a quest in "Extended Crafting" quest that asks for a flux ingot. It is one of the many ingots listed before "The one and only" quest, the Ultimate Ingot quest.[4][5]

Step 1: Flux-Infused Dust

Everything starts with the dust, which you craft from gold dust and redstone dust.[5]

  • any gold dust
  • any redstone dust
  • any redstone dust
  • any redstone dust
  • any redstone dust
  • any redstone dust

Recipe id: redstone_arsenal:materials/flux_dust

Step 2: Ingots

You can turn the dust into an ingot in a regular smelting or blasting recipe. The pack also adds an EnderIO alloy smelter recipe for the same job, and Thermal's smelter takes dust to ingot too.[5]

This EnderIO alloy smelter recipe is added by the pack.

There are a few other routes. A Thermal smelter recipe alloys redstone dust with electrum into an ingot. A Mystical Agriculture essence recipe gives 3 ingots. There is also a shapeless fire charge recipe. If you ever need dust back, the Thermal pulverizer turns an ingot into dust.[5]

For storage, nine Flux-Infused Nugget make an ingot, and nine ingots make a Flux-Infused Metal Block that you can unpack again. Thermal's press also packs and unpacks the metal block.[5]

Step 3: Gems

Flux-Infused Gem is crafted from redstone dust and a diamond. Thermal's bottler also makes it, and so does a Mystical Agriculture essence recipe. Nine gems compress into a Flux-Infused Gem Block.[5]

Step 4: Rods, plating and gears

Almost everything else uses these shared parts. You first make an Obsidian Rod, then upgrade it with a gem into a Flux-Infused Obsidian Rod.[5]

How the pack uses flux ingots beyond the mod

The pack makes flux ingots a stepping stone for other mods. Its Extended Crafting script uses them in the Allthemodium Ingot recipe, which matches the quest chain above.[3][8]

Its EnderIO script also uses flux ingots in the recipe for Pulsating Crystal.[7]

Tip: Stock up on ingots early. The tools, plating and gears all use them, and the Allthemodium chain asks for one too. Nuggets and metal blocks let you pack ingots down for storage.[3][5]

How does Redstone Arsenal work with other mods?

5 parts

In this pack, Redstone Arsenal is less about its own tools and more about being a material supplier. Its Flux-Infused items show up as ingredients in endgame crafting chains, and the recipes below are the ones that connect it to other mods.[5]

Allthemodium Ingot

The pack changed the recipe for Allthemodium Ingot. It is now made in an Extended Crafting table and needs Flux-Infused Ingot alongside Energetic Alloy Ingot from Ender IO, Refined Glowstone Ingot from Mekanism, Nitro Crystal from Powah and Soul Infused Ingot from Thermal Extra.[5][8]

The quest book follows the same path. In the AllTheModium chapter (group Production, chapter 36 of 44), a quest in "AllTheModium" comes after the chapter intro, a quest in "AllTheModium" comes after that, and the Allthemodium Ingot quest a quest in "AllTheModium" comes after the Flux-Infused Ingot quest and four other material quests. The Extended Crafting chapter (chapter 37 of 44) has its own Flux-Infused Ingot quest, a quest in "Extended Crafting". Most of that chapter's quests are in the quest book, so check it there.[3][4]

Mystical Agriculture

Flux-Infused Gem can be grown. Mystical Agriculture has a recipe that turns Flux Infused Gem Essence into Flux-Infused Gem.[5]

Shaped No Mirror (cucumber)

8 × Flux Infused Gem Essence

Recipe id: mysticalagriculture:essence/redstone_arsenal/flux_gem

The pack adds Extended Crafting recipes for the seeds themselves, and both pull in Redstone Arsenal blocks. The gem seeds use Flux-Infused Gem Block together with Black Iron and Enhanced Ender Ingot blocks, a Tier 5 crafting seed, Mystical Agriculture seeds and Supremium Essence.[5]

The ingot seeds are a combination recipe that needs 8 Flux-Infused Metal Block, plus 4 Starmetal Dust, 4 Imperium Essence and a Tier 4 crafting seed.[5]

Recipe id: combination_mysticalagriculture:flux_infused_ingot_seeds

Thermal

Thermal's press has a compat recipe that packs 9 Flux-Infused Gem with the 3x3 packing die into a Flux-Infused Gem Block. You need that block for the gem seeds above.[5]

Press (thermal)

Recipe id: thermal:compat/redstone_arsenal/press_rsa_flux_gem_packing

Ultimate Gem and Infinity gear

Flux-Infused Gem is one of the many gems in the pack's shapeless Extended Crafting recipe for Ultimate Gem, which makes 12 at a time.[5]

Redstone Arsenal's tools and armor are also ingredients in the pack's changed Avaritia recipes. Each Infinity piece takes the matching Flux-Infused piece, along with items from many other mods.[5]

Open these recipes in the recipe viewer for the full ingredient lists, since each one is long.[5]

Ender IO

The pack's Ender IO script also has a crafting recipe for Pulsating Crystal that uses Flux-Infused Ingot.[7]

Which Project Infinity 0.1 quests use Redstone Arsenal?

2 parts

Redstone Arsenal shows up in two quest chapters of the pack, both in the Production group. It is a small footprint: just the Flux-Infused Dust and the Flux-Infused Ingot.[3][4]

AllTheModium chapter

This is chapter 36 of 44 in the book and it has 50 quests. Your Redstone Arsenal progress here is a short chain that starts right after the chapter's first quest, "Allthemodium Intro" quest.[3]

  1. a quest in "AllTheModium" asks you to get Flux-Infused Dust. It unlocks straight after "Allthemodium Intro" quest.[3]
  2. a quest in "AllTheModium" comes next and asks for Flux-Infused Ingot. It follows the dust quest.[3]
  3. a quest in "AllTheModium" is where the chain leads. It needs the flux ingot quest plus four others: a quest in "AllTheModium", a quest in "AllTheModium", a quest in "AllTheModium" and a quest in "AllTheModium".[3]

So the flux ingot is one of five prerequisites for the Allthemodium Ingot quest, and you will want it done before you move on to the later Allthemodium milestones.[3]

Extended Crafting chapter

In chapter 37 of 44, which has 248 quests, there is another a quest in "Extended Crafting" quest that asks for Flux-Infused Ingot. The book lists no prerequisite for it, so you can complete it whenever you have the ingot.[4]

That quest is also one of the many ingot quests that feed into "The one and only" quest, the chapter's Ultimate Ingot quest, which asks for the Ultimate Ingot.[4]
