What is Powah!?
2 parts
Powah! is a tech mod all about energy: generating it, storing it and moving it wherever you need it. It's a community-maintained port of the original mod by owmii, so if you've played older packs with Powah, a lot of it will feel familiar.[1]
All the Mods 10 4.5 ships Powah! 6.2.4, and the mod has been in the pack since version 2.25 or earlier.[2]
What you get
- Generators: the Furnator (Starter) burns solid furnace fuel like coal and wood, the Magmator (Starter) runs on hot fluids like lava, Solar Panels generate energy when exposed to sunlight, and there are Thermo Generators too. The big one is the Reactor (Starter) multiblock, which uses Uraninite as its main fuel.[1][3][4][5][6]
- Storage and transfer: Energy Cables, Energy Cells and the upgradable Ender Network. The Player Transmitter (Starter) charges items wirelessly in a linked player's inventory, including armor and off-hand. With a normal binding card it works anywhere in the same dimension, and with a dimensional binding card it works across dimensions.[1][7]
- Energizing: the Energizing Orb energizes items using Energizing Rods placed within a 9X9 range. The orb itself needs no power, but the rods must sit on cables or another FE block. More rods and higher-tier rods mean faster energizing.[8]
- Handy extras: the Energy Hopper (Starter) charges items inside an adjacent inventory like a chest. The Energy Discharger (Starter) drains FE out of charged items into a buffer so you can pull that power back out with cables.[9][10]
Most of these blocks come in tiers: Starter, Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro. Higher-tier generators make more FE/t and have higher output. They also burn fuel faster while getting the same energy per fuel tick.[3][4]
Where it fits in this pack
Powah! has its own quest chapter. It kicks off with Raw Uraninite in a quest in "?". After that you make Dielectric Paste and Dielectric Casing. The Basic Capacitor (Tiny) then opens up the Starter-tier machines.[11]
The Basic Capacitor unlocks the Basic-tier upgrades. Once you've built your energizing setup in a quest in "?", the chapter branches into Energized Steel and the four crystals: Blazing Crystal, Niotic Crystal, Spirited Crystal and Nitro Crystal. Energized Steel leads into the Hardened tier, and each crystal leads into its matching higher tier.[11]
How do you get started with Powah!?
5 parts
Powah! is a tech mod for generating, storing and moving energy. It has generators, cables, energy cells, an upgradable Ender Network and its own Energizing crafting system. In All the Mods 10 the Powah quest chapter lays out a clear path, so this section walks you through it in order.[1][11]
Step 1: Grab some Uraninite
The very first quest in the chapter, a quest in "?", asks for Raw Uraninite. Uraninite is the main fuel for the Reactor multiblock, so it's worth stockpiling early.[5][11]
Uraninite Ore is rare. You'll find poor ore below level 64, normal ore below level 20 and dense ore below level 0, in deposits of 1 to 5 blocks. You need an iron pickaxe or better, and each ore drops 1 Raw Uraninite, with Fortune increasing the amount.[13]
The pack also adds ore processing for all three Uraninite ore types. You can crush them in Actually Additions, enrich them in Mekanism or SAG mill them in Ender IO to get Raw Uraninite.[14]
Step 2: Dielectric Paste and Dielectric Casing
Next, quest a quest in "?" asks for Dielectric Paste and a Dielectric Casing. Almost every other quest in the chapter depends on this one, so these two items are the gateway into the whole mod. Dielectric Paste has two recipes, so use whichever one fits the materials you have.[11][14]

Step 3: Capacitors
Then make a Basic Capacitor and a Basic Capacitor (Tiny). The Tiny capacitor quest a quest in "?" unlocks most of the Starter-tier quests. The Basic Capacitor quest a quest in "?" opens up the Basic-tier upgrades.[11]

Step 4: Your first power setup
With the capacitors done, the Starter tier opens up. Pick a generator that fits your base:[11]
- The Furnator (Starter) burns solid furnace fuel like coal or wood (a quest in "?").[3][11]
- The Magmator (Starter) runs on hot fluids like lava (a quest in "?").[4][11]
- The Solar Panel (Starter) works in sunlight, but any block that stops light above it halts production (a quest in "?").[6][11]
- The Thermo Generator (Starter) sits on top of a hot block or fluid like lava and needs a coolant fluid like water (a quest in "?").[11][15]
To move that power around, craft Energy Cable (Starter). A Battery (Starter) is a handy early pickup too, because it charges items while it's in your inventory.[14][16]

Step 5: Start Energizing
Your big early goal is quest a quest in "?", which needs an Energizing Orb, Starter or Basic cables and a Starter or Basic Energizing Rod. Finishing it unlocks the quests for Energized Steel and the Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro crystals, which feed every higher tier.[11]
The orb itself doesn't need power. Your rods do: they must sit on cables or another FE block, and at least one rod has to be within a 9x9 range of the orb. More rods and higher-tier rods energize items faster. Use the Link Mode of the Powah Wrench to link the orb and its rods.[8][17]
Unverified The exact energy capacity, generation and transfer numbers for each Starter-tier block are not included in these sources, so check the in-game guide tables for the values in this pack.
How does Powah! work?
6 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Powah! is a tech mod built around Forge Energy (FE). It gives you several ways to generate power, store it and move it around, plus a few unusual systems: the upgradable Ender Network, wireless Player Transmitters and the Energizing crafting system.[1]
Almost every device comes in the same tier ladder: Starter, Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro. In All the Mods 10 8.1, the capacities and transfer rates for each tier are set in the pack's config file, and the values below come from that file.[18][19]
Generating power
The Furnator burns solid furnace fuel like coal or wood. Higher tiers generate more FE/t and have a higher output, but they also burn fuel faster, so each fuel tick still gives the same energy. In this pack, general.energy_per_fuel_tick is set to 30 energy per fuel tick.[3][18]
The Magmator works like the Furnator, but it runs on high-temperature fluids like lava. Higher tiers again produce more FE/t and burn fuel faster, with the same energy per fuel tick.[4]
The Thermo Generator sits on top of a hot block or fluid, such as lava, and needs a coolant fluid like water to run.[15]
Solar Panels generate FE in sunlight, and higher tiers generate more. Any block above a panel that stops light also stops its production. You can get around this by applying a Lens Of Ender to the panel, which lets it see through blocks.[6][20]
In this pack, the Lens Of Ender is enabled through general.lens_of_ender. You get one by right-clicking an Enderman or Endermite with a Photoelectric Pane.[18][21]
The Reactor multiblock
The Reactor is a multiblock FE generator that uses Uraninite as its main fuel. To build it, you need 36 Reactor blocks in your hand and a 3x4 area of replaceable space. When you place it, the reactor finishes building itself automatically.[5]
The reactor has a generation mode that stops it when its buffer is full and starts it again when it drops below 70% energy. That's handy if you don't want to waste fuel.[21]
Dry Ice is used mainly to cool down reactors. You can find it underground below level 64, or you can make it by energizing two pieces of blue ice.[22]
Uraninite Ore is rare. The poor variant spawns below level 64, the normal one below 20 and the dense one below 0, in deposits of 1 to 5 blocks. You need an iron pickaxe or better to mine it. Each ore drops Raw Uraninite based on its type, and Fortune increases the amount.[13]
In this pack, you can also craft Uraninite from Mystical Agriculture essence, using a recipe the pack has modified.[23]
Pack-modified essence recipe for Uraninite
Unverified The sources don't explain how much FE the reactor produces per tier, or exactly how coolant and fuel amounts affect its output. Check the reactor's in-game GUI and tooltips for those details.
Moving and storing energy
Energy Cables carry power between machines. You can change a cable's transfer mode by right-clicking it with the Wrench in Config Mode.[17][19]
Energy Cells are simple FE storage blocks. Batteries charge items while they're in your inventory. A creative Energy Cell also exists.[16][24]
- Cable transfer rates in this pack: Starter 500, Basic 2,000, Hardened 5,000, Blazing 20,000, Niotic 50,000, Spirited 200,000 and Nitro 1,000,000.[18]
- Energy Cell capacities go from 1,000,000 (Starter) through 4,000,000, 10,000,000, 40,000,000, 100,000,000 and 400,000,000 up to 2,000,000,000 (Nitro). Transfer rates go from 1,000 up to 2,000,000.[18]
- Batteries use the same numbers as cells: capacities from 1,000,000 (Starter) to 2,000,000,000 (Nitro), and transfer rates from 1,000 to 2,000,000.[18]
The pack has changed the battery recipes, and each tier upgrades from the one before it. The site shows the exact in-pack recipes.[23]

The Ender Network
An Ender Cell stores FE in a specific channel of its owner's Ender Network. From anywhere in the world, you can use the energy stored in a channel, as long as the Ender Cell you're working with has an active channel with a valid capacity.[25]
To give a channel capacity, shift-click a Battery or an Energy Cell into the Ender Cell's GUI. Any energy stored in that item is added to the channel too.[16][24]
Ender Gates move energy between the block next to them and the network. Unlike Ender Cells, they can't be used to upgrade the network.[26]
- Channel counts for both Ender Cells and Ender Gates in this pack: Starter 1, Basic 2, Hardened 3, Blazing 5, Niotic 7, Spirited 9 and Nitro 12.[18]
- Ender Cell transfer rates go from 1,000 (Starter) to 2,000,000 (Nitro). Ender Gate transfer rates go from 500 (Starter) to 1,000,000 (Nitro).[18]
Charging and draining items
The Energy Hopper charges chargeable items inside an adjacent inventory, like a chest. In this pack, its charging rates go from 500 (Starter) to 1,000,000 (Nitro), and its capacities go from 1,000,000 to 2,000,000,000.[10][18]
The Energy Discharger does the opposite: it drains FE out of charged items into an internal buffer, which you can then pull from with cables. Its capacities in this pack match the Energy Cells, from 1,000,000 to 2,000,000,000.[9][18]
The Player Transmitter charges items wirelessly in a linked player's inventory, including armor slots and the off-hand. With a normal Binding Card, it works anywhere in the same dimension. With a Dimensional Binding Card, it works across dimensions. Either way, right-click the card first to bind it to yourself, then put it in the transmitter.[7][27][28]
Both special items are enabled in this pack. For a Dimensional Binding Card, use a Binding Card on an Enderman or Endermite. The Player Transmitter is crafted with a Player Aerial Pearl, which you get by using an Aerial Pearl on a Zombie or Husk.[18][21][29]

Energizing
The Energizing Orb is Powah's crafting station for energizing items. It needs at least one Energizing Rod within a 9x9 range. Crafting speed depends on how many rods you have and their tier's I/O rate. The orb itself doesn't need energy, but the rods must sit on cables or on any FE block.[8]
Energizing Rod capacities in this pack go from 40,000 (Starter) through 160,000, 400,000, 1,600,000, 4,000,000 and 16,000,000 up to 80,000,000 (Nitro). Transfer rates go from 200 through 800, 2,000, 8,000, 20,000 and 80,000 up to 400,000.[18]
Some examples of energizing: a snowball becomes a Charged Snowball, which summons lightning where it hits the ground or a mob. Two pieces of blue ice become Dry Ice.[22][30]
Unverified general.energizing_energy_ratio is set to 1 in this pack, but the sources don't document what this option changes. The full list of energizing recipes isn't in the sources either, so check JEI in-game. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How do you progress through Powah!?
5 parts
Powah! has seven tiers you climb one at a time: Starter, Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro. Almost every machine comes in all seven, including the Furnator (Starter), Magmator (Starter), Reactor (Starter), Solar Panel (Starter), Energy Cell (Starter), Energy Cable (Starter) and Energizing Rod (Starter). The pack's Powah! quest chapter follows this ladder closely, so it works well as a roadmap.[11]
Getting started: Uraninite and dielectrics
The chapter opens with a quest in "?", which asks for Raw Uraninite. This pack adds crushing, enriching and SAG milling recipes that turn uraninite ores into Raw Uraninite. It also adds Energizing recipes that turn raw uraninite or uranium ingots into Uraninite, which is the main fuel for the Reactor.[5][11][14]

Starter and Basic tiers
Capacitors are the gate for the first two tiers. a quest in "?" asks for a Basic Capacitor (Tiny) and unlocks every Starter machine quest. a quest in "?" asks for a Basic Capacitor. Each Basic machine quest needs that capacitor quest plus the Starter version of the same machine. The pack changed the Basic Capacitor recipe. You make the Tiny one from a Basic Capacitor.[11][14]

Energizing: the key to higher tiers
Quest a quest in "?" is the big turning point. It asks for an Energizing Orb, a Starter or Basic cable, and a Starter or Basic Energizing Rod. The orb needs at least one rod within a 9x9 range. The orb itself uses no energy, but the rods must sit on cables or another FE block. More rods, and higher-tier rods, make energizing faster.[8][11]
Finishing that quest unlocks one quest for each tier material: a quest in "?" for Energized Steel, a quest in "?" for Blazing Crystal, a quest in "?" for Niotic Crystal, a quest in "?" for Spirited Crystal and a quest in "?" for Nitro Crystal.[11]
Unverified The recipes shown here do not include the Energizing Orb recipes for Energized Steel and the four crystals. Check the orb's recipes in JEI to see how each one is made in this pack. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Hardened through Nitro
- Hardened: each machine quest needs its Basic version plus the Energized Steel quest.[11]
- Blazing: each machine quest needs its Hardened version plus the Blazing Crystal quest.[11]
- Niotic: most machine quests only need the Blazing version. The Niotic Energizing Rod and Niotic cable also need the Niotic Crystal quest.[11]
- Spirited: most machine quests only need the Niotic version. The Spirited Energizing Rod and Spirited cable also need the Spirited Crystal quest.[11]
- Nitro: each machine quest needs its Spirited version plus the Nitro Crystal quest.[11]
Batteries are the one line where the pack changed every tier's recipe, from Starter all the way to Nitro. Always check the in-pack version.[14]

How does Powah! work with other mods?
4 parts
Powah! ties into a lot of other mods in this pack. Its Energizing Orb handles crafting for other mods, its crystals and metals can be farmed or quarried, and its top-tier Nitro gear goes into some big endgame recipes.[14]
The Energizing Orb works for other mods
Other mods add their own energizing recipes, so your Energizing Orb setup keeps paying off. Productive Bees uses it to make its Powah bees: you energize a configurable bee together with a Powah storage block to get a spawn egg. There are versions for Blazing Crystal, Energized Steel, Niotic Crystal, Nitro Crystal and Spirited Crystal.[14]

Farming and mining Powah resources
- Mystical Agriculture essences craft into Blazing Crystal, Niotic Crystal, Spirited Crystal, Energized Steel and Uraninite.[14]
- Nitro Crystal comes from a Mystical Agradditions recipe that uses Nitro Crystal essence.[14]
- Productive Bees centrifuge recipes give Blazing, Niotic, Nitro and Spirited Crystals and Energized Steel, and the Uraninite comb gives Raw Uraninite. Each also gives Wax.[14]
- The pack adds Modern Industrialization quarry recipes for the steel, Allthemodium and Unobtainium drills, and all three can produce Uraninite Ore.[14]

Endgame recipes that need Nitro gear
The pack adds several endgame recipes that use Powah's Nitro tier, so your top-tier Powah gear keeps its value late in the game.[14]
- The pack's Nexium Emitter recipe uses a Player Transmitter (Nitro) next to parts from many other tech mods.[14]
- The creative Iron Jetpacks parts added by the pack use Nitro items: the Capacitor needs a Reactor (Nitro), the Cell a Battery (Nitro), and the Thruster a Block Of Nitro Crystal.[14]
- The Nitro Crystal Crux uses a Nitro Capacitor and a Nitro Crystal.[14]
- The pack adds an energizing recipe that turns a Energy Cell (Nitro) and an ATM Star into an Energy Cell (Creative).[14]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Powah!?
2 parts
Powah gets its own dedicated quest chapter in this pack, and it also appears in a handful of other chapters. The Powah chapter takes you through every tier of the mod's machines, from Starter up to Nitro. The other chapters only ask for a few key items.[11][31][32][33][34][35]
The Powah chapter
Everything starts with Raw Uraninite in a quest in "?". After that, a quest in "?" asks for Dielectric Paste and Dielectric Casing. That quest is the gateway to the rest of the chapter.[11]
- Capacitors come next. a quest in "?" wants a Basic Capacitor (Tiny), and a quest in "?" wants a Basic Capacitor. Both unlock right after the dielectric quest.[11]
- Also available after the dielectric quest is a quest in "?", your energizing setup. It asks for an Energizing Orb, a Starter or Basic energy cable, and a Starter or Basic energizing rod.[11]
- Starter tier: once you have the dielectric quest and the tiny capacitor, you get one quest per Starter machine. That covers the Magmator (Starter), Reactor (Starter), Energizing Rod (Starter), Energy Discharger (Starter), Furnator (Starter), Thermo Generator (Starter), Energy Hopper (Starter), Battery (Starter), Solar Panel (Starter), Energy Cell (Starter) and Energy Cable (Starter). There is also a quest in "?", which wants a Player Transmitter (Starter) plus either binding card.[11]
- Two Starter quests need extra steps. a quest in "?" (Ender Gate (Starter)) needs the Starter cable quest first. a quest in "?" (Ender Cell (Starter)) needs the Starter energy cell and Starter battery quests.[11]
- Basic tier: most Basic machine quests need the matching Starter quest plus the Basic Capacitor quest. The Energy Discharger (Basic) only needs the capacitor. The Ender Cell (Basic) needs the capacitor and the energizing setup quest. The Ender Gate (Basic) follows the Basic cable quest.[11]
- Materials: the energizing setup quest also branches into a quest in "?" (Energized Steel), plus one quest each for the Blazing Crystal, Niotic Crystal, Spirited Crystal and Nitro Crystal.[11]
- Hardened tier: each Hardened machine needs its Basic version plus the Energized Steel quest. The Hardened ender cell and energy discharger only need the steel. The Ender Gate (Hardened) follows the Hardened cable.[11]
- Blazing tier: each Blazing machine needs its Hardened version plus the Blazing Crystal quest. The Blazing ender cell and energy discharger only need the crystal.[11]
- Niotic and Spirited tiers: most machines simply follow their previous-tier version. The energy cable and energizing rod also need the matching crystal quest. The ender cell and energy discharger quests of each tier only need that tier's crystal, and each ender gate follows its tier's cable.[11]
- Nitro tier: every Nitro machine needs its Spirited version plus the Nitro Crystal quest. Again, the Nitro ender cell and energy discharger only need the crystal.[11]
Powah in other chapters
Part 1 of the main questline lets Powah items count toward early power goals, with other mods' options accepted too. a quest in "?" takes a Starter or Basic Magmator, or a Magmatic Generator. That leads into a quest in "?", which takes a Solar Panel (Basic) or a Mekanism solar generator. Separately, a quest in "?" accepts an Energy Cable (Basic) among other cables. It leads to a quest in "?", which accepts an Energy Cell (Starter) or a Mekanism basic energy cube.[31]
- The Basic Power chapter has a quest in "?", which asks for Uraninite.[35]
- The Allthemodium chapter has a quest in "?", which asks for an Energizing Orb.[34]
- One of the star chapters starts with a quest in "?" (Dielectric Paste). It then leads to a quest in "?", which wants a Player Transmitter (Nitro).[33]
- Another star chapter includes a quest in "?", which asks for an Energy Cell (Creative).[32]
Which Powah! config options matter?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Powah! is highly configurable, and nearly every generator, cable, battery and cell gets its numbers from the pack's config file. You don't need to edit anything to play, but knowing these values helps you plan your power setup. Below are the settings most likely to matter to you, exactly as All the Mods 10 8.1 ships them.[18]
Unverified The available sources don't list Powah!'s default config values, so it's unconfirmed whether All the Mods 10 changed any of these numbers from the mod's defaults. Treat everything below as the pack's value, not as a comparison to vanilla Powah!.
General settings
- general.energy_per_fuel_tick is set to 30. This is the energy the Furnator produces per fuel tick.[18]
- general.energizing_range is set to 4, and general.energizing_energy_ratio is set to 1. Both apply to the Energizing crafting system. The config file doesn't describe what the ratio does.[1][18]
- general.dimensional_binding_card is enabled. You get a Dimensional Binding Card by right-clicking an Enderman or Endermite with a Binding Card.[18]
- general.lens_of_ender is enabled. You get a Lens Of Ender by right-clicking an Enderman or Endermite with a Photoelectric Pane.[18]
- general.player_aerial_pearl is enabled. You get a Player Aerial Pearl by right-clicking a Zombie or Husk with an Aerial Pearl.[18]
Tiers at a glance
Every device comes in seven tiers. Going by the config values, they climb from starter to basic, hardened, blazing, niotic, spirited and finally nitro. Energy Cells, batteries, dischargers, hoppers and Player Transmitters all share the same capacities, from 1,000,000 at starter up to 2,000,000,000 at nitro. Their transfer rates run from 1,000 at starter up to 2,000,000 at nitro.[18]
Energy Cables are set lower: 500 at starter, 2,000 at basic, 5,000 at hardened, 20,000 at blazing, 50,000 at niotic, 200,000 at spirited and 1,000,000 at nitro.[18]
Generators
- Reactors have by far the highest generation rates: 500 at starter, 2,000 at basic, 5,000 at hardened, 20,000 at blazing, 50,000 at niotic, 200,000 at spirited and 500,000 at nitro.[18]
- Solar Panels generate 40 at starter, climbing to 16,000 at spirited and 50,000 at nitro.[18]
- Furnators and Magmators share the same numbers: 80 at starter, 160 at basic, 400 at hardened, 1,000 at blazing, 2,000 at niotic, 8,000 at spirited and 20,000 at nitro.[18]
- Thermo Generators are the weakest: 20 at starter, rising to 750 at spirited and 1,750 at nitro.[18]
Ender Network channels
Ender Cells and Ender Gates get more channels as you tier up: 1 at starter, 2 at basic, 3 at hardened, 5 at blazing, 7 at niotic, 9 at spirited and 12 at nitro. Ender Gates move energy at the same rates as cables, from 500 at starter to 1,000,000 at nitro. Ender Cells move it at the same rates as Energy Cells, from 1,000 to 2,000,000.[18]
Player Transmitters charge your gear at 500 at starter, up to 1,000,000 at nitro. Energizing Rods top out at a transfer rate of 400,000 at nitro, starting from 200 at starter.[18]
What changed in Powah! between versions?

Powah! has been part of All the Mods 10 for a long time. It was first included in version 2.2 or earlier, and in All the Mods 10 4.5 you're running Powah! 6.2.4 (the file Powah-6.2.4.jar).[2]
Updates across pack releases
Here's how the mod's version changed across the pack changelogs, oldest first:[36][37][38][39]
- All the Mods 10 2.31 updated Powah from 6.1.5 to 6.1.6.[36]
- All the Mods 10 2.42 updated Powah from 6.1.6 to 6.2.1.[37]
- All the Mods 10 2.43 updated Powah from 6.2.1 to 6.2.3.[38]
- All the Mods 10 2.47 updated Powah from 6.2.3 to 6.2.4, the version that still ships in 4.5.[2][39]
The pack changelogs only record these version bumps. They don't say what each update changed inside the mod.[36][37][38][39]
Unverified The specific fixes, balance changes or new features in each of these Powah! updates can't be confirmed here, because no mod changelogs for the shipped jars were available.
