What is Powah!?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 2.41 guide

Powah! is a tech mod built entirely around energy: making it, storing it and moving it where you need it. This pack runs version 6.1.6. It's a good fit if you want a single mod that covers your whole power setup, from your first generator to wireless charging.[1][2]

What it adds

  • Power generation: Furnators, Magmators, Solar Panels, Thermo Generators and the Reactor multiblocks.[1]
  • Storage and transport: classic Energy Cables and Energy Cells.[1]
  • Unique mechanics: the upgradable Ender Network, Player Transmitters, the Energizing crafting system, and gadgets like the Charged Snowball.[1]

Where it fits in this pack

This pack gives Powah! its own quest chapter. It kicks off with Raw Uraninite, then has you make Dielectric Paste and Dielectric Casing. Grab a Basic Capacitor (Tiny) as well and the Starter tier opens up, with quests for the Furnator (Starter), Solar Panel (Starter), Reactor (Starter), Energy Cell (Starter) and more.[3]

Energizing is the big unlock. The a quest in "?" quest asks for an Energizing Orb along with a cable and an energizing rod. Complete it and it leads straight into Energized Steel and the four crystals: Blazing Crystal, Niotic Crystal, Spirited Crystal and Nitro Crystal.[3]

From there you climb the tiers. The Basic Capacitor unlocks the Basic versions of your machines, and Energized Steel leads into Hardened ones like the Reactor (Hardened) and Energy Cable (Hardened). Each crystal then points you toward gear from its own tier, such as the Ender Cell (Spirited) after the Spirited Crystal.[3]

How do you get started with Powah!?

4 parts

Powah! is the pack's dedicated energy mod: it adds ways to generate, store and move FE around your base. Generation comes from Furnators, Magmators, Solar Panels, Thermo Generators and the Reactor multiblocks, and on top of that you get Energy Cables and Energy Cells, the upgradable Ender Network, Player Transmitters and the Energizing crafting system.[1]

Everything in this mod is tiered, and the quest chapter in this pack walks you up those tiers one step at a time. The very first quest just wants a piece of Raw Uraninite, so keep an eye out for it while you are mining.[1][4]

Step 1: paste and casings

Dielectric Paste and Dielectric Casing are the real gateway. a quest in "?" asks for both, and almost every other Powah quest in the chapter sits behind it, so make a decent stack of paste before you move on.[4]

Step 2: capacitors

Capacitors are the part that shows up in nearly every Powah recipe, from cables to batteries. Make the Basic Capacitor first, then convert some into Basic Capacitor (Tiny) for the starter-tier gear.[4][5]

Tip: The two capacitor quests split the chapter: the tiny capacitor unlocks the whole starter tier, while the full-size basic capacitor unlocks the basic-tier upgrade of each machine. Do both early and the rest of the tree opens up at once.[4]

Step 3: starter-tier gear

With paste, a casing and a tiny capacitor in hand, these quests all become available together. Pick whichever generator fits what you already have running.[4]

Step 4: the Energizing Orb

The important one is a quest in "?", which wants an Energizing Orb along with a cable and an energizing rod. It only needs the paste and casing quest behind it, so you can aim for it as soon as you have a generator running.[4]

The orb is what unlocks the rest of the mod for you: Energized Steel (a quest in "?") and the crystals, Blazing Crystal (a quest in "?"), Niotic Crystal (a quest in "?"), Spirited Crystal (a quest in "?") and Nitro Crystal (a quest in "?"). Those materials are what push every machine past the basic tier into hardened, blazing, niotic, spirited and nitro.[4]

Tip: In this pack, energized steel and the blazing, niotic, spirited and nitro crystals also have Mystical Agriculture essence recipes, so once you have the right seeds you can farm the upgrade materials instead of grinding them out in the orb.[5]

How does Powah! work?

6 parts

Powah! is a tech mod built around three jobs: generating energy, storing it, and moving it where you need it. Generation comes from Furnators, Magmators, Solar Panels, Thermo Generators and the Reactor multiblocks. Storage and transmission come from Energy Cables and Energy Cells, plus the upgradable Ender Network, Player Transmitters and the Energizing crafting system.[1]

Almost every device in the mod comes in the same seven tiers: starter, basic, hardened, blazing, niotic, spirited and nitro. Each tier step multiplies what the device can hold and how fast it can push energy, so the tier you pick is really a throughput decision. All of those numbers live in the pack's config file, so this guide quotes the values as the pack ships them.[6]

Energy storage and transfer tiers

Energy Cells are the main stationary buffer. In this pack a starter cell holds 1,000,000 FE and moves 1,000 FE/t, and each tier climbs from there: basic 4,000,000 FE at 4,000 FE/t, hardened 10,000,000 FE at 10,000 FE/t, blazing 40,000,000 FE at 40,000 FE/t, niotic 100,000,000 FE at 100,000 FE/t, spirited 400,000,000 FE at 400,000 FE/t, and nitro topping out at 2,000,000,000 FE at 2,000,000 FE/t.[6]

Batteries and Dischargers use exactly the same capacity and transfer numbers as Energy Cells at every tier, so a Battery (Nitro) carries the same 2,000,000,000 FE a nitro cell does. Energy Hoppers share those capacities and transfer rates too, and add a separate charging rate that runs at half the transfer rate: 500 FE/t for starter, 2,000 for basic, 5,000 for hardened, 20,000 for blazing, 50,000 for niotic, 200,000 for spirited and 1,000,000 for nitro.[6]

Cables are the bottleneck to watch. In this pack they carry half of what the matching cell tier does: 500 FE/t for Energy Cable (Starter), 2,000 for Energy Cable (Basic), 5,000 for Energy Cable (Hardened), 20,000 for Energy Cable (Blazing), 50,000 for niotic, 200,000 for spirited and 1,000,000 for nitro. Ender Gates transfer at the same rates as cables of their tier.[6]

Watch out: If a generator or cell is outputting faster than the cable feeding it, you'll silently cap at the cable's rate. Match or beat the source tier with your cable tier, or run several cable lines in parallel.[6]

The Ender Network

Ender Cells and Ender Gates let you move energy wirelessly on channels instead of running cable. Tier decides how many channels you get: 1 at starter, 2 at basic, 3 at hardened, 5 at blazing, 7 at niotic, 9 at spirited and 12 at nitro, and Ender Cells and Ender Gates use the same channel counts. Ender Cells move energy at the cell-tier rates, from 1,000 FE/t at starter up to 2,000,000 FE/t at nitro, while Ender Gates run at the lower cable-tier rates.[6]

Energizing Orb and Energizing Rods

The Energizing crafting system is how you make the mod's crystals and several of its components. You place an Energizing Orb and surround it with Energizing Rods that feed energy into the recipe; the rods are the power input, so more and better rods mean faster crafts.[1]

Rod tiers in this pack: starter rods buffer 10,000 FE and transfer 100 FE/t, basic 40,000 FE at 400 FE/t, hardened 100,000 FE at 1,000 FE/t, blazing 400,000 FE at 4,000 FE/t, niotic 1,000,000 FE at 10,000 FE/t, spirited 4,000,000 FE at 40,000 FE/t, and nitro 20,000,000 FE at 200,000 FE/t. The pack leaves general.energizing_energy_ratio at 1, so energizing recipes cost their standard energy here.[6]

Tip: Because a single rod is capped at its own transfer rate, ringing the orb with several rods is the cheapest way to speed up a craft before you upgrade tiers.[6]

Generators and reactors

The Furnator burns solid fuel for power, and this pack sets general.energy_per_fuel_tick to 30, meaning each tick of burn time is worth 30 FE.[6]

Reactors are the mod's multiblock generators and they manage themselves: a reactor stops when it's full and starts again once it drops below 70% of its stored energy. That means you can leave one hooked to a cell bank and it will idle instead of wasting fuel.[7]

Gadgets, cards and mob interactions

Several Powah! items are finished by using them on a mob rather than in a crafting grid, and all three of those interactions are enabled in this pack. Right-clicking an Enderman or Endermite with a Binding Card upgrades it into a Dimensional Binding card, right-clicking one of the same mobs with a Photoelectric Pane gives you the Lens Of Ender, and right-clicking a Zombie or Husk with an Aerial Pearl gives you the Player Aerial Pearl.[6][7]

Cards themselves start from a Dielectric Rod. A Blank Card is the base for the Binding Card, and binding cards prompt you to right click to bind them once you're holding one.[5][7]

Building up the tiers

Most tiered gear in this pack is crafted by upgrading the tier below it rather than starting fresh. Batteries chain from Battery (Starter) all the way up to Battery (Nitro), each step consuming the previous battery plus that tier's capacitor and crystal.[5]

Cables follow the same pattern, and helpfully most of them have a second recipe that skips the previous cable if you'd rather spend crystals than back-track.[5]

Crystals pack and unpack between item and block form with plain shapeless recipes, which is handy for storage and for feeding the compression chain in this pack.[5]

How do you progress through Powah!?

5 parts

Powah! in this pack runs on a tier ladder, and the pack's quest chapter walks you up it in order. Every machine family comes in the same tiers: Starter, Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro. You climb by crafting each machine from the previous tier's version, and the quests mirror that.[4][5]

Getting started

  1. The chapter opens with a quest for Raw Uraninite. The sources I have don't say where to find it, so check your recipe viewer.[4]
  2. Next, a quest in "?" asks for Dielectric Paste and Dielectric Casing. Almost everything else in the chapter hangs off this quest.[4]
  3. Then comes Basic Capacitor (Tiny) (a quest in "?"). Together with the paste and casing quest, it unlocks the Starter machines.[4]
  4. a quest in "?" asks for the full Basic Capacitor. This opens the Basic tier.[4]

Starter tier

Once you have the paste, casing and tiny capacitor, the Starter quests open up together. They cover the Magmator (Starter), Furnator (Starter), Reactor (Starter), Thermo Generator (Starter) and Solar Panel (Starter) generators. They also cover the Energizing Rod (Starter), Energy Discharger (Starter), Energy Hopper (Starter), Battery (Starter), Energy Cell (Starter) and Energy Cable (Starter). The Player Transmitter (Starter) quest also asks for a Binding Card or a dimensional one.[4]

The Ender Gate (Starter) quest comes after the Starter cable. The Ender Cell (Starter) quest comes after the Starter energy cell and battery.[4]

The Energizing Orb and the crystals

a quest in "?" is the real gate to the upper tiers. It asks for an Energizing Orb, a Basic or Starter cable, and a Starter or Basic energizing rod. Every material quest comes after it: Energized Steel, Blazing Crystal, Niotic Crystal, Spirited Crystal and Nitro Crystal.[4]

Climbing the tiers

  • Basic: each Basic quest comes after its Starter quest plus the Basic capacitor quest. The Basic battery recipe uses the Starter battery and a large Basic capacitor.[4][5]
  • Hardened: this is the first tier that needs Energized Steel. Many Hardened quests list the Energized Steel quest as a prerequisite, and the Hardened battery recipe uses it directly.[4][5]
  • Blazing: the Blazing quests lean on Blazing Crystal. The Blazing battery needs a Hardened battery, a Blazing capacitor and a Blazing Crystal.[4][5]
  • Niotic and Spirited: these follow the same pattern with Niotic and Spirited crystals. Several Niotic and Spirited quests list the Blazing or Niotic quest directly before them.[4][5]
  • Nitro: the top tier. Many Nitro quests require the Nitro Crystal quest as well as the Spirited version of the same machine. The Nitro battery is built from a Spirited battery.[4][5]

The same upgrade pattern shows up across other families. Energizing rods are crafted from the previous tier's rod. Ender gates take the matching tier of energy cable. Ender cells take the tier's crystal in the Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro versions.[5]

Tip: Energy cables from Hardened upward have a second recipe that skips the previous cable. It uses the tier's own material (Energized Steel or the matching crystal) instead.[5]

Main quest line crossover

Powah! also appears in the pack's main quest line, where its items count as alternatives to other mods' items. One quest accepts a Basic or Starter Magmator (Starter) line item or a Generator Galore generator. Another accepts Solar Panel (Basic) or a Mekanism solar generator. A third takes Energy Cable (Basic) in place of other cable types, and a fourth takes Energy Cell (Starter) in place of a Mekanism energy cube.[8]

Unverified Generation rates, capacity and transfer numbers for each tier, and where to find Raw Uraninite, are not covered by the sources I have for this pack, so check in-game tooltips or your recipe viewer. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How does Powah! work with other mods?

5 parts

Powah! is a tech mod about generating, storing and transmitting energy, but in this pack its materials show up in recipes from several other mods. Everything below is based on in-pack recipes.[1][5]

Mystical Agriculture: farm your Powah! materials

Mystical Agriculture has essence recipes that turn into Powah! materials. They cover Blazing Crystal, Niotic Crystal, Spirited Crystal, Energized Steel and Uraninite. So you can farm these instead of mining or hunting for them.[5]

Shaped No Mirror (cucumber)

Nitro Crystal is handled by Mystical Agradditions instead, with its own recipe.[5]

Mystical Agradditions also has the Nitro Crystal Crux, which is built from Powah! parts, namely a Nitro Capacitor and a Nitro Crystal.[5]

Productive Bees: honeycombs and Powah! bees

Productive Bees has centrifuge recipes under a Powah! group. They give you Blazing Crystal, Niotic Crystal, Spirited Crystal, Nitro Crystal, Energized Steel or Raw Uraninite, and each one also gives Wax. That is another way to get materials without mining.[5]

There is a crossover in the other direction too. Productive Bees uses Powah!'s energizing recipe type to make spawn eggs for configurable bees. The recipes use the Powah! storage blocks for the blazing, energized steel, niotic, nitro and spirited bees. The one below is the blazing version.[1][5]

Energizing (powah)

Modern Industrialization: uraninite from the quarry

The pack adds a Modern Industrialization quarry recipe for the Steel Drill. Among its outputs is Uraninite Ore, so you can get Powah!'s fuel ore without hunting for veins. Its other outputs include ores from AllTheOres and vanilla ores.[5]

AllTheCompressed: compressed blocks

AllTheCompressed has compress and decompress recipes for these Powah! blocks: Block Of Blazing Crystal, Block Of Energized Steel, Block Of Niotic Crystal, Block Of Nitro Crystal, Block Of Spirited Crystal and Block Of Uraninite. Compressing gives the 1x version, for example Block Of Uraninite 1x. Decompressing turns it back into the normal block.[5]

Which All the Mods 10 quests use Powah!?

5 parts

Powah has its own quest chapter in this pack, plus a few quests in the main questline that accept Powah items. The quests in the Powah chapter have no titles, so each one is identified by the item it asks for. Every task is an item task, so you complete a quest by getting the item.[4][8]

The Powah chapter: where it starts

  1. a quest in "?" is the entry point and asks for Raw Uraninite.[4]
  2. a quest in "?" comes next and asks for both Dielectric Paste and Dielectric Casing. Almost everything else in the chapter hangs off this quest.[4]
  3. a quest in "?" asks for Basic Capacitor (Tiny), and a quest in "?" asks for Basic Capacitor. Both unlock after the casing quest, and they gate the later tiers.[4]

Starter tier

Once you have finished the casing quest and the tiny capacitor quest, a whole group of Starter-tier quests opens up, one per machine. They ask for Magmator (Starter) (a quest in "?"), Reactor (Starter) (a quest in "?"), Energizing Rod (Starter) (a quest in "?"), Energy Discharger (Starter) (a quest in "?") and Furnator (Starter) (a quest in "?").[4]

The same group also covers Thermo Generator (Starter) (a quest in "?"), Energy Hopper (Starter) (a quest in "?"), Battery (Starter) (a quest in "?"), Solar Panel (Starter) (a quest in "?"), Energy Cell (Starter) (a quest in "?") and Energy Cable (Starter) (a quest in "?"). The Player Transmitter quest, a quest in "?", needs Player Transmitter (Starter) plus either a Binding Card or a Binding Card (Dimensional).[4]

a quest in "?" asks for Ender Gate (Starter) and follows the starter cable quest. a quest in "?" asks for Ender Cell (Starter) and follows the starter energy cell and starter battery quests.[4]

Energizing Orb and the crystals

a quest in "?" is the key branch. It needs an Energizing Orb, an Energy Cable (Basic or Starter) and an Energizing Rod (Starter or Basic), and it follows the casing quest. It unlocks the Energized Steel quest, a quest in "?", and one quest per crystal: a quest in "?" for Niotic Crystal, a quest in "?" for Blazing Crystal, a quest in "?" for Spirited Crystal and a quest in "?" for Nitro Crystal. The steel quest asks for Energized Steel.[4]

Tier upgrades

After Starter, each machine line continues in the order Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited, Nitro. Each quest asks for the next tier of the same machine and follows the previous tier's quest. For example, a quest in "?" asks for Magmator (Basic) and follows the starter Magmator quest. a quest in "?" then asks for Magmator (Hardened).[4]

The extra prerequisite on each upgrade quest tells you which milestone you need first:[4]

Ender Cells, Ender Gates and Energy Dischargers branch a bit differently. The higher-tier Ender Cell and Energy Discharger quests unlock directly from the Energized Steel quest or the matching crystal quest rather than the previous tier. One example is a quest in "?" for Ender Cell (Blazing). The Ender Gate quests follow the matching Energy Cable quest, for example a quest in "?" for Ender Gate (Blazing).[4]

Powah in the main questline

A handful of quests in the first main questline chapter accept a Powah item as one of several options, so you can finish them with either Powah or another mod's item. They come as a generator pair and a cable pair.[8]

  1. a quest in "?" accepts Magmator (Basic), Magmator (Starter) or Magmatic Generator.[8]
  2. a quest in "?" follows it and accepts Solar Panel (Basic) or Solar Generator.[8]
  3. a quest in "?" accepts Basic Universal Cable, Energy Pipe or Energy Cable (Basic).[8]
  4. a quest in "?" follows the cable quest and accepts Basic Energy Cube or Energy Cell (Starter).[8]

The generator pair and the cable pair each also depend on other quests in that chapter, which the sources here do not detail.[8]

Unverified The quest rewards for the Powah chapter are not listed in the available sources, so they are unconfirmed.

Which Powah! config options matter?

4 parts

Powah! keeps its settings in one file, config/powah.json5. Here are the options you're most likely to open it for, with the exact values this pack uses. Almost everything is a tier table, so you can compare your Starter gear to Nitro at a glance.[1][6]

General settings

Heat, coolant and magmatic fluids

Generation rates by tier

Tiers are Starter, Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro, in order of increasing value. Here is what each generator makes, from Starter up to Nitro.[6]

Storage and transfer

Tip: Every tier table follows the same key pattern, such as devices.hoppers.charging_rates or generators.reactors.capacities, with one entry per tier. Once you know the pattern, you can find any value quickly.[6]

Unverified The sources only show the values this pack sets. They don't show the mod's own defaults, so I can't confirm which of these values the pack changed. They also don't state the units for the energy numbers or explain how the heat, coolant and magmatic fluid values are used.

What changed in Powah! between versions?

1 part

There isn't much history to report for Powah! in this pack. All the Mods 10 0.38 ships Powah! 6.1.0, and the mod has been in the pack since 0.32 or earlier.[9]

Powah! 6.1.0

The 6.1.0 changelog lists a single change: a fix for 1.21.1 compatibility. It follows version 6.0.8 of the mod.[10]

The pack changelogs have no entries for this mod, so there are no pack-specific changes to Powah! to point out for you.[9]
