What is Iron Jetpacks?

Iron Jetpacks adds jetpacks that run on Forge Energy (FE), so they can be charged by the many other mods that deal in FE. It is built to be feature-rich but easy to use.[1]
What you get
- A set of default jetpacks made from various vanilla and modded materials.[1]
- Fully configurable jetpack stats and attributes, and you can add your own jetpacks.[1]
- Throttle controls, so you can change your aerial movement speed on the fly.[1]
- A built-in HUD that shows your current energy, engine, hover and throttle stats.[1]
- Curios support, so you can equip a jetpack as a Curio.[1]
In this pack
This pack includes Iron Jetpacks 8.0.4. It was already part of the pack in version 0.37 or earlier.[2]
Because every jetpack stat can be changed in the mod's configuration, check the pack's own files before assuming a default jetpack behaves the way the mod's project page describes.[1]
How do you get started with Iron Jetpacks?

Iron Jetpacks gives you Forge Energy (FE) powered jetpacks with a built-in HUD, throttle controls and Curios support, so you can wear one as a Curio. This section covers the parts of the crafting chain I can confirm for this pack.[1]
Start with the Leather Strap
The Leather Strap uses the mod's own recipe, not one the pack added. It is a good first craft because you can make it from the start.[3]

Make the coils, tier by tier
Next come the coils: Basic Coil, Advanced Coil, Elite Coil and Ultimate Coil. All of them use the mod's own recipes, and each tier is built around a different material, so you can work up through them as you get access to those materials.[3]

Check your jetpack's stats
Once you have a jetpack, hover over it to read its tooltip. It lists Horizontal Speed, Vertical Acceleration, Hover Ascend Speed, Hover Descend Speed, Sprint Fuel Modifier and Sprint Vertical Multiplier. The mod's project page says jetpack stats are fully configurable, so the tooltip is the quickest way to see what a given jetpack does.[1][4]
Unverified The sources I have don't show how the regular thrusters, capacitors, energy cells and jetpacks are crafted in this pack, or what each coil is used for. Check those items in the in-game recipe viewer before you plan around them. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
Creative versions
The pack adds its own recipes for creative versions of the Jetpack, Thruster, Capacitor and Cell. These are not part of the base mod. Here is the jetpack as an example.[3]

How does Iron Jetpacks work?

Iron Jetpacks is built around Forge Energy (FE), so jetpacks are powered by FE and should work with the energy systems of other mods. The mod also comes with a set of default jetpacks made from vanilla and modded materials.[1]
Stats and controls
Every jetpack stat and attribute is configurable, and the mod lets you add your own jetpacks. The mod page says this is the case in general. I can't see the actual values for this pack, because no config files for the mod were provided.[1]
You also get throttle controls, so you can change how fast you move through the air on the fly. A built-in HUD shows your current energy, engine, hover and throttle stats. You can equip the jetpack as a Curio too.[1]
The mod's tooltips list these stats: Horizontal Speed, Hover Ascend Speed, Hover Descend Speed, Vertical Acceleration, Sprint Fuel Modifier and Sprint Vertical Multiplier.[4]
Unverified The exact values behind those stats, how each jetpack tier is balanced, and how energy is consumed per tick are not covered by the sources provided for this pack. Check the tooltip on the jetpack in-game for the real numbers.

How do you progress through Iron Jetpacks?

Iron Jetpacks has no quest line in this pack, so you won't find a quest telling you what to build next. Your progression here follows the recipes instead. The pack's recipe dump shows two groups: the mod's own coil and strap recipes, and a set of creative-tier recipes the pack adds on top.[3]
The coil tiers
The mod's own recipes give you four coils: Basic Coil, Advanced Coil, Elite Coil and Ultimate Coil. Each one is crafted around a different material, and the recipes below show them exactly as they are in the pack. These are unchanged mod recipes, not pack edits.[3]

The pack adds its own crafting recipes for the creative versions of four parts: the Thruster, the Cell, the Capacitor and the Jetpack. These are not mod defaults. Unverified The recipes for the other jetpack, thruster, cell and capacitor tiers, and the stats of each tier (thrust, energy capacity and so on), are not in the sources I was given, so I can't confirm how the tiers compare or what order to unlock them in. No quest in this pack is known to involve the mod, and it is not on the ATM Star quest path.
How does Iron Jetpacks work with other mods?

Iron Jetpacks is powered by Forge Energy, so it works with energy mods out of the box. The integration I can actually confirm in this pack is a set of four crafting recipes that the pack adds itself. Each one mixes Iron Jetpacks parts with items from other mods, so you can't make these parts from Iron Jetpacks materials alone.[1][3]
All four recipe ids contain the word creative. The recipe dump shows the output names only as a placeholder (%s), so I can't confirm from the sources which exact tier each recipe produces.[3]
Jetpack
The jetpack recipe is shaped crafting. It pulls in items from Allthemodium, ATM tweaks and Mystical Agradditions, so it is a late-game build. The recipe below shows the exact layout.[3]

Unverified I found no quests in the sources that involve Iron Jetpacks, and nothing on how the jetpacks interact with other mods' energy blocks beyond the general Forge Energy support, so I haven't covered those.
What changed in Iron Jetpacks between versions?

All the Mods 10 1.9 ships Iron Jetpacks 8.0.4 for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod has been in the pack since All the Mods 10 0.37 or earlier, so you may have seen older versions if you started playing early.[2]
The notes below come from the mod's own changelogs. I don't have any pack changelog entries that mention this mod.[2]
Mod releases for 1.21.1
- 8.0.0: The mod was updated to 1.21.1, and the jetpack became a 'back' Curio.[5]
- 8.0.2: Fixed jetpack upgrade recipes not actually upgrading the jetpack tier.[6]
- 8.0.3: Fixed jetpacks breaking when taking physical damage.[7]
- 8.0.4: Fixed the jetpack curio using double energy. This is the version in the pack now.[2][8]
