What is Iron Jetpacks?
2 parts
Iron Jetpacks adds jetpacks that run on Forge Energy (FE), so they work with the energy systems from other mods. You charge them up, strap one on, and take to the air.[1]
The big selling point is that everything is customizable. All jetpack stats and attributes are configurable, and you can even add your own jetpacks. The mod also ships with a set of default jetpacks made from a mix of vanilla and modded materials.[1]
What you get in the air
- Throttle controls, so you can change your aerial movement speed on the fly.[1]
- A built-in HUD that shows your current energy, engine, hover and throttle stats.[1]
- Curios support, so you can equip your jetpack as a Curio.[1]
In this pack
This pack includes Iron Jetpacks 8.0.0 for Minecraft 1.21.1. The mod was already in the pack in version 0.37 or earlier, so it isn't a new arrival in 0.38.[2]
How do you get started with Iron Jetpacks?
2 parts
Iron Jetpacks adds jetpacks powered by Forge Energy (FE), which the mod's project page says is chosen for extensive mod compatibility. It also comes with a set of default jetpacks made from various vanilla and modded materials.[1]
What to know before you build
- Every jetpack stat is configurable, and the mod lets you add your own jetpacks. That means the stats you see in this pack can differ from the mod's defaults.[1]
- Jetpacks run on FE, so you will need a way to supply that energy to them.[1]
Because the tiers and stats are configurable, check the tooltip on any jetpack you get. It can list Horizontal Speed, Vertical Acceleration, Hover Ascend Speed, Hover Descend Speed, Sprint Fuel Modifier and Sprint Vertical Multiplier. Comparing those lines is the quickest way to see what a different jetpack gives you.[1][3]
Using your first jetpack
- Throttle controls let you change your aerial movement speed on the fly.[1]
- A built-in HUD shows your current energy, engine, hover and throttle stats, so you can keep an eye on your charge while flying.[1]
- Curios support means you can equip your jetpack as a Curio.[1]
Unverified The crafting order, the recipes for the jetpacks and their parts, and which jetpack to build first in this pack could not be confirmed from the sources available for this section, so no recipes are shown here.
How does Iron Jetpacks work?
3 parts
Iron Jetpacks is a jetpack mod powered by Forge Energy (FE), so you fuel a jetpack with energy rather than a fluid or item. That's what lets it work with the energy systems from other mods.[1]
Throttle and HUD
The mod has throttle controls, so you can change how fast you move through the air on the fly. A built-in HUD shows your current energy, engine, hover and throttle stats while you fly.[1]
Jetpack stats
Each jetpack's tooltip lists the stats that shape how it flies. These are the ones the mod shows:[3]
- Horizontal Speed[3]
- Vertical Acceleration[3]
- Hover Ascend Speed[3]
- Hover Descend Speed[3]
- Sprint Fuel Modifier[3]
- Sprint Vertical Multiplier[3]
The mod's project page says jetpack stats and attributes are fully configurable and that you can add your own jetpacks. It also says the mod ships with a set of default jetpacks made from vanilla and modded materials.[1]
Wearing a jetpack
The mod supports Curios, so you can equip a jetpack as a Curio.[1]
Unverified The sources don't describe machines, multiblocks, fluid handling, item automation, or how much energy each jetpack stores or uses in this pack. The pack's own config values for jetpacks and its jetpack recipes are also unconfirmed, so check them in-game. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.
How does Iron Jetpacks work with other mods?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 0.60 guide
I'd love to show you a list of recipes and quests where Iron Jetpacks teams up with other mods, but I can't confirm any for this pack. No in-pack recipes combine Iron Jetpacks items with items from another mod, and no quests involve the mod. So this section stays short and sticks to what the mod itself says about compatibility.[1]
Energy: Forge Energy
The mod's project page says jetpacks are powered by Forge Energy (FE), chosen for broad mod compatibility. Any other mod that handles FE is therefore a natural fit for charging your jetpacks. The sources don't say which charging blocks or machines the pack provides, so check in-game before you plan a setup around one.[1]
Curios support
The project page also lists Curios support, which lets you equip a jetpack as a Curio instead of in the chest slot. Whether the Curios slot is available in this pack is not confirmed by the sources I have.[1]
Modded materials
The project page says the default jetpacks are made from a mix of vanilla and modded materials. It also says every jetpack's stats and attributes are configurable, and you can add your own. It doesn't name those materials, and I can't tell you which ones the pack uses or whether the pack changed any of them.[1]
Unverified Specific cross-mod recipes, quests that use Iron Jetpacks items together with another mod's items, and the pack's own jetpack material list could not be confirmed from the available sources.
What changed in Iron Jetpacks between versions?
1 part
All the Mods 10 0.38 ships Iron Jetpacks 8.0.0. The mod was first included in 0.37 or earlier, so this is the version you get if you're updating from a recent release.[2]
8.0.0
- Updated to Minecraft 1.21.1, which is the version this pack runs on.[4]
- The Jetpack is now a 'back' Curio. If you're used to an older version, check your Curios back slot for it.[4]
Unverified No pack changelog entries for this mod were available, so any changes made to Iron Jetpacks between individual pack releases are unverified.
