What is Create: Dragons Plus?

2 parts

Create: Dragons Plus is a Create addon that adds convenient features for players, plus dev utilities for other Create addon authors. As a player, you'll mostly care about the first part: it gives your Encased Fans new jobs and makes tank handling easier.[1]

This pack ships version 1.11.7b, and the mod has been in the pack since 2.47 or earlier.[2]

What it adds

  • Bulk Coloring: use Dye Fluids with an Encased Fan to dye items. It supports most crafting recipes that use dyes.[1]
  • Bulk Freezing: use Powder Snow with an Encased Fan to freeze items.[1]
  • Bulk Ending: use a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath (fluid) with an Encased Fan to infuse items with energy from The End.[1]
  • Bulk Sanding: use Quicksand with an Encased Fan to polish items. It supports all Sand Paper polishing recipes. Since version 1.8.5, Quicksand is no longer required if the Bulk Sanding block tag contains any block.[1]
  • Fluid Hatch: works like the Item Hatch, but gives you convenient take and deposit operations on Fluid Tanks.[1]

Who it's for

If you already run Create and want to process items in bulk with fans instead of one at a time, this mod is for you. It's also handy if you want simpler fluid tank access.[1]

The mod also has optional integrations with other mods, such as Create: Simulated, Create: Granished, Create: Dreams & Desires, The Aether, Dye Depot, Dyenamics, Arts & Crafts and Ars Nouveau. Each one only matters if that mod is installed. Its features can be enabled or disabled, unless a dependent mod forces them on or off.[1]

Unverified The sources don't show any quests for this mod, any role on the ATM Star path, or an in-game guidebook. They also don't confirm which of the integration mods are in this pack, or whether the pack changed any of the mod's configs or recipes.

How do you get started with Create: Dragons Plus?

5 parts

Create: Dragons Plus builds on Create's Encased Fan with new processing types: Bulk Coloring, Bulk Freezing, Bulk Ending and Bulk Sanding. It also adds a Fluid Hatch for tanks. Here is the order I'd go through it in this pack.[1]

Step one: craft a Fluid Hatch

The Fluid Hatch is the easiest thing to make first, and it's useful right away. It makes your tank easy to interact with using fluid containers. The pack changes this recipe, so use the one below.[3][4]

The pack changes this recipe.

Place it on a tank. One of its behaviours deposits the fluid from your held item into the tank, or fills the item from the tank if it can't be emptied. When you sneak right-click, it fills your held fluid container from the tank first, and only deposits if the container can't be filled.[4]

Step two: make Liquid Dye

Next up is dye. Mixing a dye with water creates Liquid Dye. The mod has a mixing recipe for each vanilla dye colour, and also for Dyenamics colours. The recipe below is the red one as an example, and the other colours follow the same pattern with their own dye. In this pack, these mixing recipes are all marked as changed.[1][3][4]

Mixing (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/red_dye_from_item

Every other colour has its own matching mixing recipe in the same format.

The process also runs backwards. Heated mixing can recover the dye item from the fluid.[4]

Step three: try Bulk Coloring with a fan

Once you have Liquid Dye, send an Encased Fan's air flow through it to create a Bulk Coloring setup. It dyes items and supports most crafting recipes that use dyes. The air flow can also change the colour of entities, and any armor they have equipped gets colored too.[1][4]

Watch out: Items and living entities that touch Liquid Dye get colored, so keep spills away from your own gear and your pets. If Liquid Dye meets lava, it forms concrete of the matching colour.[4]

Step four: get Dragon's Breath for Bulk Ending

Dragon's Breath is a fluid you can get by emptying a Dragon's Breath bottle, and you get the glass bottle back. The pack changes this emptying recipe.[3]

Emptying (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath

The pack changes this emptying recipe.

Air flows passing through either a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath create an Ending setup, which infuses items with energy from The End. The fluid also supports cauldron behaviour. If flowing Dragon's Breath meets lava, it forms End Stone.[1][4]

The Blaze upgrade template

The mod also adds the Smithing Template, and the pack changes its recipe. The only detail the sources give is that its additions slot is described as adding working blocks for Blaze.[3][4]

How does Create: Dragons Plus work?

5 parts

Most of what this mod adds is not a machine you place. It is a set of new things an Encased Fan can do to items when the airflow passes through a special block or fluid. On top of that you get one handy block for tanks, the Fluid Hatch. The sources say nothing about stress, power or multiblock structures for this mod, so this section sticks to what they do explain.[1]

Bulk processing with Encased Fans

The idea is the same every time: you point an Encased Fan's airflow through a specific block or fluid, and that turns the airflow into a new processing setup. The mod lists these setups.[1][4]

  • Bulk Coloring: airflow passing through Liquid Dye dyes items. It works with most crafting recipes that use dyes, and it can also change the color of entities and of the armor they wear.[1][4]
  • Bulk Freezing: airflow passing through Powder Snow freezes items.[1][4]
  • Bulk Ending: airflow passing through a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath fluid infuses items with energy from The End.[1][4]
  • Bulk Sanding: airflow passing through a Bulk Sanding catalyst, such as Quicksand, polishes items. It is automatically compatible with Sand Paper sanding recipes.[1][4]
  • Bulk Enchanting: airflow passing through Golden Aercloud processes Aether Enchanter recipes, including ones that repair equipment, so the input and output can be the same item type. The same airflow can also incubate Moa Eggs.[1][4]

Bulk Coloring, like Bulk Blasting and Bulk Smoking, picks up compatible crafting recipes on its own. You don't need separate recipes for it.[4]

Liquid Dye

Mixing a dye with water creates Liquid Dye. Heated mixing can turn the fluid back into the dye item. Items and living entities that touch Liquid Dye get colored, and when it meets lava it forms the matching concrete. The mod also supports dyes from Dye Depot, Dyenamics and Arts & Crafts.[1][4]

In this pack there is a mixing recipe for each dye color. Each one takes water plus any item from that color's dye tag, and the pack marks these recipes as changed. Here is black as an example. The other colors, including the Dyenamics ones such as Dyenamics Navy Dye, follow the same pattern.[3]

250× Black DyeChanged by the pack

Mixing (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/black_dye_from_item

Dragon's Breath fluid

Dragon's Breath is a fluid that works with Cauldron behaviour. When it flows and meets lava, it forms End Stone. In this pack, emptying a Dragon's Breath bottle with Create gives you the fluid and an empty glass bottle, and the pack marks that recipe as changed.[3][4]

Emptying (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath

The mod page also says the Containment Jar from Ars Nouveau produces Dragon's Breath. This is a mod-level claim, and the sources don't confirm whether that mod is in the pack.[1]

Fluid Hatch

The Fluid Hatch makes a tank easy to use with fluid containers. You place it on a tank and interact with it by hand, so you don't need extra piping just to fill or empty a bucket-style item. It works like the Item Hatch does for items.[1][4]

  • One mode deposits the fluid in your held item into the tank. If the held item can't be emptied, it fills the item from the tank instead.[4]
  • The other mode fills your held fluid container from the tank first. If it can't be filled, any fluid it contains is deposited into the tank instead.[4]

The tooltip says one of these behaviours applies when you sneak and right-click the hatch.[4]

The pack changes the Fluid Hatch recipe. It is a shapeless craft that uses an Item Drain and a copper ingot.[3]

Create: Simulated extras

With the Create: Simulated series installed, the mod adds two more things. The first is the Fragile Fluid Tank, which breaks on impact. When it breaks, its fluid effect is applied to the surroundings. There is also a Levitite version. The second is that the Bulk Processing air current from a Simulated Contraption can affect blocks. The Bulk Blasting air current spreading fire is off by default in the mod's config, to stop new players from accidentally burning their builds.[1][4]

Unverified The pack has no config file for this mod in the sources, so whether that fire-spreading setting was changed here is unconfirmed.

Tip: The mod page says all features can be enabled or disabled, unless a dependent mod forces them on or off. If one of the bulk setups doesn't work in your world, it may have been turned off.[1]

How do you progress through Create: Dragons Plus?

5 parts

Create: Dragons Plus has no tier ladder that the sources here confirm. The pack's recipes for the mod are the only progression signal available, so this section goes through them one by one instead of inventing tiers.[3]

Tip: Every recipe that makes an item from this mod is marked as changed by the pack. If you remember different recipes from the standalone mod, trust the ones shown here.[3]

Fluid handling: the Fluid Hatch

The Fluid Hatch is a shapeless crafting recipe in this pack, and the pack has changed it. It builds on a Create item, so you need part of the Create tree before you can make it.[3]

Dragon's Breath

The pack has a Create emptying recipe that produces Dragon's Breath and gives you the empty glass bottle back. The sources do not show what the result is used for afterwards, so I won't guess.[3]

Blaze upgrade template

The Smithing Template is made in a shaped crafting recipe that this pack has changed. The sources show only how the template is crafted, not what it upgrades.[3]

Dye mixing

The largest group of recipes is dye production. Create mixing recipes in this pack produce the standard colors from this mod, such as Red Dye, Blue Dye and White Dye. The Dyenamics colors work the same way, for example Dyenamics Amber Dye, Dyenamics Mint Dye and Dyenamics Wine Dye. Each recipe accepts any item from a matching dye tag, so you are not locked to one specific input.[3]

Quests

Unverified The sources here show no quest chapter for Create: Dragons Plus and no place for it on the ATM Star path, so there is no confirmed quest-driven progression order for this mod. Check the pack's quest book in-game for anything beyond the recipes above. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

How does Create: Dragons Plus work with other mods?

3 parts

Most of what Create: Dragons Plus does with other mods in this pack happens through recipes. It links up with Create: Enchantment Industry and with Dyenamics, and everything below comes from the pack's recipes and the mod's own description.[1][3]

Create: Enchantment Industry

This is the biggest connection. The Fluid Hatch is a Dragons Plus block, and the pack has changed how you craft it: it now starts from a Item Drain plus a copper ingot.[3]

You then use that hatch to make the Experience Hatch. It is an item application recipe that combines the Fluid Hatch with a Block of Experience. This one is the mod's normal recipe, not a pack change.[3]

This is the mod's own recipe, not changed by the pack.

Dragons Plus also supplies the Dragon's Breath that goes into Enchantment Industry's infusing recipe for Infused Dragon's Breath. The pack has changed this recipe.[3]

Blaze upgrades

The Smithing Template is the template for the Enchantment Industry blaze upgrades. Each one is a smithing recipe that starts from a Blaze Burner. The Blaze Enchanter and the Blaze Forger use their normal mod recipes, but the pack has changed the Blaze Composer recipe.[3]

Dyenamics

Dragons Plus ships its own version of each Dyenamics dye, such as Dyenamics Amber Dye. In this pack, Create mixing recipes turn each of these into the matching real Dyenamics dye, here Amber Dye. The pack has changed all of these recipes, and the same pattern covers the whole Dyenamics colour set, from Aquamarine and Bubblegum through to Wine.[3]

An example: the other Dyenamics colours follow the same pattern, and the pack changes them too.

The mod's description says the same thing from the dye side: its Liquid Dye and Bulk Coloring features support dyes from Dyenamics.[1]

What changed in Create: Dragons Plus between versions?

Create: Dragons Plus came into the pack at All the Mods 10 2.47 as version 1.4.2, and All the Mods 10 8.1 ships version 1.11.7b. The pack changelogs only record version bumps, so here is the path the mod took through the releases.[2][5]

  • 2.47: added to the pack at 1.4.2.[5]
  • 3.0: updated from 1.4.2 to 1.5.1.[6]
  • 3.2: updated from 1.5.1 to 1.5.2.[7]
  • 4.0: updated from 1.5.2 to 1.6.1.[8]
  • 4.11: updated from 1.6.1 to 1.8.0b.[9]
  • 4.12: updated from 1.8.0b to 1.8.1.[10]
  • 4.15: updated from 1.8.1 to 1.8.3.[11]
  • 5.1: updated from 1.8.3 to 1.8.4.[12]
  • 5.2: updated from 1.8.4 to 1.8.5.[13]
  • 5.5: updated from 1.8.5 to 1.8.6.[14]
  • 6.0: updated from 1.8.6 to 1.8.7.[15]
  • 7.0: updated from 1.8.7 to 1.10.0b.[16]
  • 7.1: updated from 1.10.0b to 1.11.2b.[17]
  • 7.3: updated from 1.11.2b to 1.11.3.[18]
  • 8.0: updated from 1.11.3 to 1.11.7b, the version still in 8.1.[2][19]

The biggest jumps in a single pack release were 4.0, 4.11, 7.0 and 7.1. Each of those skipped several mod versions at once, so if you're upgrading an older world across them, expect more to have changed.[8][9][16][17]

Unverified What each mod version actually added, fixed or changed (new items, recipes, balance tweaks) is unverified, because the changelogs of the shipped jars aren't available. Check the mod's own release notes before relying on any specific change.
