What is Create: Dragons Plus?

2 parts

Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide

Create: Dragons Plus is a Create addon that adds convenient features for players, plus dev utilities for other Create addon authors. As a player, you'll mostly care about the first part: it gives your Encased Fans new jobs and makes tank handling easier.[1]

This pack ships version 1.11.7b, and the mod has been in the pack since 2.47 or earlier.[2]

What it adds

  • Bulk Coloring: use Dye Fluids with an Encased Fan to dye items. It supports most crafting recipes that use dyes.[1]
  • Bulk Freezing: use Powder Snow with an Encased Fan to freeze items.[1]
  • Bulk Ending: use a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath (fluid) with an Encased Fan to infuse items with energy from The End.[1]
  • Bulk Sanding: use Quicksand with an Encased Fan to polish items. It supports all Sand Paper polishing recipes. Since version 1.8.5, Quicksand is no longer required if the Bulk Sanding block tag contains any block.[1]
  • Fluid Hatch: works like the Item Hatch, but gives you convenient take and deposit operations on Fluid Tanks.[1]

Who it's for

If you already run Create and want to process items in bulk with fans instead of one at a time, this mod is for you. It's also handy if you want simpler fluid tank access.[1]

The mod also has optional integrations with other mods, such as Create: Simulated, Create: Granished, Create: Dreams & Desires, The Aether, Dye Depot, Dyenamics, Arts & Crafts and Ars Nouveau. Each one only matters if that mod is installed. Its features can be enabled or disabled, unless a dependent mod forces them on or off.[1]

Unverified The sources don't show any quests for this mod, any role on the ATM Star path, or an in-game guidebook. They also don't confirm which of the integration mods are in this pack, or whether the pack changed any of the mod's configs or recipes.

How do you get started with Create: Dragons Plus?

4 parts

Create: Dragons Plus is a small, handy add-on for Create. You won't find a big new machine tree here. Instead, it adds a Fluid Hatch for your tanks and several new Encased Fan processing types: Bulk Coloring, Bulk Freezing, Bulk Ending and Bulk Sanding. Here's a sensible order to pick it up in.[1]

Watch out: All the Mods 10 has changed every Create: Dragons Plus recipe in this list. Use the recipe blocks below and ignore older videos or guides from other packs, which may show different recipes.[3]

Step 1: Fluid Hatch

Make the Fluid Hatch first. It's cheap and you'll use it right away. It works like the Item Hatch, but for Fluid Tanks. Place it on a tank to pour fluid from the container in your hand into the tank, or use an empty fluid container on it to pull fluid back out.[1][3][4]

Crafting Shapeless

This matters because most of what comes next runs on fluids. A hatch on a tank lets you fill or sample it by hand without building extra piping.[1][4]

Step 2: Liquid dye and Bulk Coloring

Next, mix liquid dyes. Each colour has its own mixing recipe in a Create mixer. Once you have a dye fluid, run an Encased Fan's air flow through it to set up Bulk Coloring. This dyes items in bulk and works with most crafting recipes that use dyes.[1][3][4]

Every colour follows the same pattern. Look up the matching mixing recipe for the colour you want.

The coloring air flow also affects entities in its path and changes their colour. Armour they're wearing gets dyed too, so keep that in mind before you stand in front of your fan.[4]

Step 3: Freezing and Ending

Bulk Freezing needs no special crafting. Just point an Encased Fan's air flow through Powder Snow.[1][4]

Bulk Ending infuses items with energy from The End. The air flow has to pass through a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath fluid. To get the fluid, empty bottled Dragon's Breath with Create's emptying process. The recipe below shows it, and you get the glass bottle back.[1][3][4]

Emptying (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath

Tip: A Fluid Hatch on your Dragon's Breath tank is an easy way to top it up by hand.[1][4]

Later: the Blaze upgrade template

The mod also has a Smithing Template. Its description says it adds working blocks for Blaze. In this pack you craft copies of it from an existing template.[3][4]

Unverified The sources don't say where to find your first Blaze upgrade template or exactly what the upgrade does.

Unverified Bulk Sanding turns on when its block tag contains any block, for example Quicksand from another mod. The sources don't confirm whether this pack includes such a block. They also don't confirm whether the pack leaves every fan processing feature enabled, since each one can be switched off in the config.

How does Create: Dragons Plus work?

6 parts

Create: Dragons Plus is a small add-on with one big idea: it adds new kinds of fan processing to Create. You point an Encased Fan through a special block or fluid, and the air flow processes the items it hits, just like Bulk Blasting and Bulk Smoking. It also adds the Fluid Hatch, which makes tanks easier to use.[1][4]

The new fan processing types

Every type is set up the same way. You run an Encased Fan's air flow through a catalyst, and anything in the air stream gets processed. The catalyst decides which process you get.[1][4]

  • Bulk Coloring: an air flow passing through liquid dye creates a Coloring setup that dyes items. It automatically works with many crafting recipes that use dyes, so you don't need a separate recipe for each one.[1][4]
  • Bulk Freezing: an air flow passing through Powder Snow creates a Freezing setup that freezes items.[1][4]
  • Bulk Ending: an air flow passing through a Dragon Head or Dragon's Breath creates an Ending setup that infuses items with energy from The End.[1][4]
  • Bulk Sanding: an air flow passing through a Bulk Sanding catalyst such as Quicksand creates a Sanding setup. It automatically works with Sand Paper polishing recipes, so you can do anything you'd normally sand by hand in bulk.[1][4]

Bulk Coloring doesn't stop at items. The coloring air flow also changes the color of entities it hits, and it colors any armor those entities are wearing too. Keep that in mind before you stand in front of your dye fan in your favorite armor set![4]

Making the catalyst fluids

You make liquid dye with Create's mixing process. Each dye color has its own mixing recipe, from White Dye to Black Dye. The pack has changed these mixing recipes, so check the in-game recipe instead of trusting older guides. Here's one example:[3]

250× Red DyeChanged by the pack

Mixing (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:mixing/red_dye_from_item

Every other dye color has a matching mixing recipe.

For Bulk Ending, you can use Dragon's Breath fluid instead of a Dragon Head. In this pack you get it from an emptying recipe that turns bottled Dragon's Breath into the fluid and gives you back the glass bottle. The pack has changed this recipe as well.[1][3]

Emptying (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath

Fluid Hatch

The Fluid Hatch works like Create's Item Hatch, but for fluids. You place it on a fluid tank and then use fluid containers on it. Hold a filled container to deposit its fluid into the tank, or use an empty container to take stored fluid out. That makes it easy to top up the dye or Dragon's Breath your fan setups need. The pack has changed its crafting recipe:[1][3][4]

Features that depend on other mods

Some mechanics only work when certain other mods are installed. With the Create: Simulated series, the bulk processing air currents from Simulated Contraptions can affect blocks as well as items. You also get the Fragile Fluid Tank and the Levitite Fragile Fluid Tank. These tanks break on impact, and when one breaks, its fluid's effect spreads to the area around it.[1][4]

Watch out: The option that lets a Bulk Blasting air current spread fire is off by default in the mod's config, so new players don't accidentally burn down their bases. If it gets turned on, give your contraption's air path plenty of room.[4]
  • Bulk Coloring and Bulk Freezing support the fan processing recipes of Create: Garnished.[1]
  • Bulk Ending, Bulk Sanding and Bulk Freezing support the fan processing recipes of Create: Dreams & Desires, and they also work with its Industrial Fan.[1]
  • With The Aether, the mod adds Bulk Enchanting, which handles Aether enchanting recipes, repairing recipes and incubating Moa Eggs. Bulk Freezing also runs The Aether's Freezer recipes.[1]
  • Liquid dye and Bulk Coloring also support dyes from Dye Depot and Dyenamics, plus Bleachdew from Arts & Crafts.[1]
  • Ars Nouveau's Containment Jar produces Dragon's Breath.[1]

Unverified The sources don't confirm which of these companion mods (the Create: Simulated series, Create: Garnished, Create: Dreams & Desires, The Aether, Dye Depot, Dyenamics, Arts & Crafts, Ars Nouveau) are in this pack. Check JEI or the mod list before planning around these integrations. This site does hold All the Mods 10's own recipes, read from the pack itself: look the item up in the item browser.

The project page says that since version 1.8.5, Bulk Sanding turns on whenever its block tag contains any block, so Quicksand is no longer required.[1]

Unverified The sources don't show which blocks count as a Bulk Sanding catalyst in this pack, or whether the pack's version of the mod includes that change. Test a candidate block with a fan before building a big sanding line.

Blaze Upgrade Smithing Template

The mod also adds a Blaze Upgrade Smithing Template. Its additions slot says it adds working blocks for a Blaze. The pack has changed its crafting recipe:[3][4]

Config

You can turn every feature of Create: Dragons Plus on or off, unless a dependent mod forces it one way.[1]

Unverified No config files for this mod were available from the pack, so it's unconfirmed whether this pack disables any of these features. If a fan setup does nothing, a disabled feature is one possible cause.

How do you progress through Create: Dragons Plus?

2 parts

Unverified This pack has no quest line for Create: Dragons Plus, so there is no official progression path or tier order. The grouping below follows the kind of recipe each item uses, not a pack-defined tier system. How these items fit into the rest of your Create setup is not covered by the pack data used for this guide.

Before you look up recipes anywhere else, note that in All the Mods 10 7.0 every Create: Dragons Plus recipe listed here is marked as changed by the pack. Always check the in-pack recipes shown below instead of the mod's defaults, because what you remember from other packs may not match what you get here.[3]

Crafting table items

The Fluid Hatch is made with a shapeless crafting recipe, so ingredient placement in the grid doesn't matter. It uses a part from Create, so you'll need your Create basics set up before you can make one.[3]

The Smithing Template uses a shaped crafting recipe, so the layout matters. Check the recipe below for the exact arrangement.[3]

Machine-processed items

Some of the mod's items come from Create machine processes rather than a crafting table. Dragon's Breath is produced by an emptying recipe, and you also get a glass bottle back.[3]

Emptying (create)

Recipe id: create_dragons_plus:emptying/dragon_breath

Each of the mod's dye items, from White Dye through Black Dye, has its own mixing recipe. Every colour follows the same pattern, so once you've automated one colour you can switch your mixer to any other by changing the input dye.[3]

Every other colour uses the same pattern with its matching dye.

Tip: All the dye recipes share the same structure. If you've already built a mixing line for one colour, you don't need a new setup for the rest: just feed in a different vanilla dye.[3]

How does Create: Dragons Plus work with other mods?

2 parts

Create: Dragons Plus mostly works behind the scenes as a helper for other Create addons, but in this pack a few of its items show up directly in other mods' recipes. The biggest link is with Create: Enchantment Industry, which relies on two Dragons Plus items for some of its key machines.[1][3]

Fluid Hatch and the Experience Hatch

The Fluid Hatch is the fluid version of Create's Item Hatch. It gives you a convenient way to take fluids out of and put fluids into Fluid Tanks.[1]

This pack changes the Fluid Hatch recipe, so check the version below rather than relying on what you might remember from other setups.[3]

In-pack recipe, changed by the pack

Once you have a Fluid Hatch, you can use it as the base for the Experience Hatch from Create: Enchantment Industry. It's made with Create's item application, so you apply an item onto the hatch instead of using a crafting table.[3]

The Blaze Upgrade Smithing Template

The Dragons Plus Smithing Template is required for two Create: Enchantment Industry machines. Both are made at a smithing table and both start from a Blaze Burner, so keep a few Blaze Burners ready.[3]

Unverified The mod's project page lists more integrations: fan processing support for Create: Garnished and Create: Dreams & Desires, Bulk Enchanting and Freezer recipes for The Aether, dye support for Dye Depot, Dyenamics and Arts & Crafts, Dragon's Breath from the Ars Nouveau Containment Jar, and Fragile Fluid Tanks with the Create: Simulated series. The sources don't confirm whether those mods are in this pack or whether these features are enabled here, since the page says every feature can be turned on or off.

What changed in Create: Dragons Plus between versions?

1 part

Create: Dragons Plus has been part of All the Mods 10 since pack version 2.47, where it was added at mod version 1.4.2. Since then it's been bumped in almost every major pack update, and All the Mods 10 7.0 ships it as version 1.10.0b.[5][6][7]

Mod updates by pack release

  • All the Mods 10 2.47: Create: Dragons Plus added at version 1.4.2.[5]
  • All the Mods 10 3.0: updated from 1.4.2 to 1.5.1.[8]
  • All the Mods 10 3.2: updated from 1.5.1 to 1.5.2.[9]
  • All the Mods 10 4.0: updated from 1.5.2 to 1.6.1.[10]
  • All the Mods 10 4.11: updated from 1.6.1 to 1.8.0b.[11]
  • All the Mods 10 4.12: updated from 1.8.0b to 1.8.1.[12]
  • All the Mods 10 4.15: updated from 1.8.1 to 1.8.3.[13]
  • All the Mods 10 5.1: updated from 1.8.3 to 1.8.4.[14]
  • All the Mods 10 5.2: updated from 1.8.4 to 1.8.5.[15]
  • All the Mods 10 5.5: updated from 1.8.5 to 1.8.6.[16]
  • All the Mods 10 6.0: updated from 1.8.6 to 1.8.7.[17]
  • All the Mods 10 7.0: updated from 1.8.7 to 1.10.0b.[7]

The two biggest version jumps came in All the Mods 10 4.11, which went from 1.6.1 to 1.8.0b, and in All the Mods 10 7.0, which went from 1.8.7 to 1.10.0b. If you're coming back to an older world or following an older video, those are the updates most worth keeping an eye on.[7][11]

Unverified The pack changelogs only list version numbers, and no mod changelogs are available for the shipped jars, so the specific features, fixes or recipe changes in each of these updates can't be confirmed here.
