What is XyCraft World?
1 part
XyCraft World is the building and materials half of the XyCraft series in this pack. The pack's quest book says the series is mostly about XyCraft: World and Machines, and that World gives you the gems, which you get by sieving. There are five colors: Red Xychorium Gem, Green Xychorium Gem, Blue Xychorium Gem, Dark Xychorium Gem and Light Xychorium Gem.[1]
Kivi is the other key item. The quest book says it is used mainly for decorations and machines, you need it for Machine Frames and other XyCraft machines, and you can combine it with Xychorium Gems in a Stonecutter to make decorative blocks.[1]
This pack ships XyCraft World 0.7.53.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
The mod shows up in two chapters. The main one is the XyCraft chapter, which has 26 quests and covers both World and Machines.[1]
- The chapter opens with "XyCraft" quest, and the five gem quests (red, green, blue, dark and light) each come directly after it.[1]
- "Kivi" quest is a separate starting point with no quest before it. The Machine Base quest comes after it, along with the fluid and item storage quests.[1]
- Each gem quest leads on to a machine quest, which also needs Machine Base: light to Light Field, green to Accelerated Planter, red to Ignition Plate, blue to Water Block and dark to Fluid Void.[1]
The other place is the Building Tips chapter, which has 66 quests. "XyCraft World" quest comes after the Colored Blocks quest and says XyCraft is all about five colors, including Green, Red, Blue, Dark and Light blocks.[3]
"XyCraft Lights" quest comes after the quest about light sources such as torches, lanterns and copper bulbs. It asks for any of the RGB lamps: RGB Lantern Lamp, RGB Flush Lamp, RGB Cube Lamp or RGB Pillar Lamp.[3]
The Building Tips chapter has 53 more quests that I can't show here, so check the quest book in game for the rest of what it says about this mod.[3]
How do you get started with XyCraft World?
4 parts
XyCraft World is all about five colors: green, red, blue, dark and light. The pack's quest book says the gems come from sieving, so your first goal is to get Kivi and then the gems.[1][3]
Step 1: Get some Kivi
Kivi is the base material of the mod. The quest book says it is used mainly for decorations and machines, and that you need it for Machine Frames. You can also combine it with Xychorium Gems in a Stonecutter to make decorative blocks. Start by picking up Kivi.[1]
This pack adds two sieve recipes that make Kivi from gravel, one with a diamond mesh and one with a golden mesh. Here is the diamond mesh one:[4]
Later you can automate it. The Extractor "grows" the block or item beneath it and sends it to an inventory above, and the mod has an Extractor recipe that turns water into Kivi. The pack also changes a Cobblestone-generator-style recipe for Kivi.[1][4]
Step 2: Get the gems
The mod has five gems: Blue Xychorium Gem, Dark Xychorium Gem, Green Xychorium Gem, Light Xychorium Gem and Red Xychorium Gem. The pack adds sieve recipes for the blue and dark ones. Here is the blue one:[4]
Sieve (exdeorum)
Recipe id: allthemods:exdeorum/diamond_mesh/dust/xychorium_gem_blue
The mod also has a Crusher recipe that takes Kivi and lists all five gems as its results.[4]
Crusher (xycraft_machines)
- any kivi
Recipe id: xycraft:crusher/xychorium
Each gem has its own quest in the XyCraft chapter, such as "Blue Xychorium Gems" quest. They come right after the chapter's first quest, "XyCraft" quest. Many machine quests need a specific color, so the gems are worth collecting early.[1]
Step 3: Aluminum building blocks and torches
Aluminum is the other half of the mod's look. One aluminum ingot makes 4 Aluminum Bricks, and those can be turned into Aluminum Tiles.[4]

The mod also has its own light source, the Aluminum Torch, and the recipe makes 2 at a time.[4][5]

Step 4: Colored lights
Once you have gems, Kivi and aluminum, you can make the RGB lamps. The quest book says the RGB lights take the color of the dye they are made with, not the gem. This recipe gives 2 RGB Lantern Lamp.[3][4]

The quest "XyCraft Lights" quest is in the Building Tips chapter. It follows the general lighting quest, and it accepts the lantern, flush, cube and pillar RGB lamps.[3]
How does XyCraft World work?
4 parts
Here is the honest picture for this pack: the sources I have show how XyCraft World's blocks and materials are crafted, cut and processed, but they do not describe any power, fluid or multiblock system for the mod. So this section sticks to what the recipes tell us.[4][5]
Crafting and the stonecutter
The stonecutter does a lot of the work. 76 stonecutting recipes in the pack make XyCraft World blocks, and each one gives a different result. The aluminum family is a good example: Aluminum Bricks can be cut from anything in the mod's aluminum crafting group.[4]

You can also craft the bricks straight from aluminum ingots, which gives you 4 at a time. Aluminum Tiles come from the bricks, again 4 per craft.[4]

Getting Kivi
There are a few ways to get Kivi in this pack. The mod's own recipes use an extractor from the XyCraft machines side, which turns water into Kivi. A second extractor recipe, with a water block catalyst, has no item inputs at all. The pack adds a sieve route: a diamond mesh used on gravel.[4]
If you have compressed Kivi from the pack's compression setup, decompressing one 1x gives you 9 Kivi. The pack changed this recipe.[4]
Xychorium and aluminum processing
Blue Xychorium Gem can be sieved with a diamond mesh on dust, which is a pack-added recipe. You can also process Blue Xychorium Ore in a Mekanism enriching machine, where the pack changed the recipe so that one ore gives 10 gems. The ore itself can be created with an Actually Additions mining lens on stone-type blocks, another pack-changed recipe.[4]

Aluminum ore can go through Mekanism too. Dissolving it with sulfuric acid gives 1,000 of dirty aluminum slurry per recipe, and the pack changed this recipe.[4]

How do you progress through XyCraft World?
4 parts
XyCraft World has its own quest chapter, "XyCraft" quest, and it is the best map for how to move through this mod. The welcome quest says World is where the gems come from, and that you get them by sieving. Everything else branches out from that idea, so here is the order I'd follow.[1]
Step 1: Get Kivi
The "Kivi" quest quest asks for Kivi. The book says you need it for Machine Frames and other XyCraft machines, and that Kivi plus Xychorium Gems in a Stonecutter gives decorative blocks. Most of the later quests hang off this one.[1]
There are several ways to get Kivi in this pack:[4]
- The Extractor has its own Kivi recipes. The Extractor quest says it grows the block beneath it and moves the result to an inventory above it.[1][4]
- The pack adds sieve recipes that give Kivi from gravel, using either a Diamond Mesh or a Golden Mesh.[4]
- A Cobble Gen Galore block generator recipe for Kivi exists, and the pack changed it.[4]

Step 2: Collect the five gems
Five quests follow the welcome quest, one for each colour: "Blue Xychorium Gems" quest (Blue Xychorium Gem), "Dark Xychorium Gems" quest (Dark Xychorium Gem), "Green Xychorium Gems" quest (Green Xychorium Gem), "Light Xychorium Gems" quest (Light Xychorium Gem) and "Red Xychorium Gems" quest (Red Xychorium Gem).[1]
Sieving is the route the quest book points to. The pack adds sieve recipes that turn Dust into the blue, dark and green gems with a Diamond Mesh. There is also a XyCraft Crusher recipe that takes Kivi and lists all five gems as results.[1][4]
Sieve (exdeorum)
Recipe id: allthemods:exdeorum/diamond_mesh/dust/xychorium_gem_blue

If you go the ore route, the pack changed the Actually Additions mining lens recipes that produce Blue Xychorium Ore, Dark Xychorium Ore and Green Xychorium Ore. It also changed the Mekanism enriching recipes for blue and dark ore, and each gives 10 gems.[4]
For storage, Blue Xychorium Gem Storage unpacks into 9 gems, and the dark and green storage blocks do the same. The pack also changed the All The Compressed recipes that unpack compressed storage blocks and Kivi.[4]
Step 3: Machines and what each gem unlocks
The a quest in "XyCraft" quest comes after Kivi. The book says reinforcing Kivi with Aluminum gives Machine Frames, which every machine needs. It is the gate for the gem-themed machines below.[1]
- "Water Block" quest comes after the blue gems and the Machine Base. It acts as non-flowing water and can be used for cobble gens or watering farmland.[1]
- "Fluid Void" quest comes after the dark gems and the Machine Base. It removes water within a 1 block radius.[1]
- "Accelerated Planter" quest comes after the green gems and the Machine Base. It is watered automatically and faster than normal farmland.[1]
- "Ignition Plate" quest comes after the red gems and the Machine Base. It spawns fire in front of it when given a Redstone signal.[1]
- "Light Field" quest comes after the light gems and the Machine Base. It stops mob spawns in an area of about a 32 block radius.[1]
Kivi also opens three more branches. a quest in "XyCraft" is the Extractor. "Fluid Storage and Manipulation" quest leads to Valves, Item IOs and Pipes, and then to "The Tank" quest, a multiblock that can be at most 13x13x13. "Item Storage and Manipulation" quest leads to the a quest in "XyCraft", then to the Collector, Fabricator and Void Container.[1]
Aluminum processing in Mekanism was changed by the pack. Dissolution with Liquid Sulfuric Acid gives 1,000 dirty aluminum slurry from an aluminum ore, or 6,000 from a raw aluminum block. Washing the slurry takes 5 water.[4]
Decoration
The pack's Building Tips chapter places XyCraft in three spots. The "XyCraft World" quest quest comes after Colored Blocks, "XyCraft Glass" quest comes after the vanilla glass quest, and "XyCraft Lights" quest comes after the light sources quest. The lights take their colour from the Dye used to craft them, not from the gem.[3]
Most variants are made in the Stonecutter. The pack has 76 stonecutting recipes that take this mod's items and make its items, covering the glass viewers and lamp shapes. Glass viewer upgrades such as Immortal Glass Viewer use normal crafting.[4]
How does XyCraft World work with other mods?
5 parts
XyCraft World's materials show up in several other mods in this pack. Some of these connections are added or changed by the pack itself, so don't assume they match what you remember from the standalone mod.[4]
Ex Deorum sieving
The pack adds sieve recipes that give you XyCraft's key materials. Sifting Dust gives you any of the Xychorium Gems (blue, dark, green, light and red) with a Flint Mesh, Iron Mesh, Diamond Mesh or Netherite Mesh. Sifting Gravel gives you Kivi with an Iron Mesh, Golden Mesh, Diamond Mesh or Netherite Mesh.[4]

Recipe id: allthemods:exdeorum/iron_mesh/dust/xychorium_gem_blue
One of the sieve routes to a gem. The other colors and meshes follow the same pattern.
An iron mesh sieve route to Kivi.
Kivi matters because the "Kivi" quest quest says you'll need it for Machine Frames and other machines in XyCraft. It also says Kivi can be used with Xychorium Gems in a Stonecutter for decorative blocks.[1]
Decorative blocks from vanilla blocks
XyCraft's tinted blocks are built on vanilla blocks. The vanilla blocks covered include Bricks, Chiseled Stone Bricks, Chiseled Deepslate, Chiseled Nether Bricks, Chiseled Polished Blackstone, Chiseled Sandstone, Chiseled Red Sandstone, Chiseled Tuff and Chiseled Tuff Bricks. Each comes in blue, dark, green, light and red versions, such as Blue Bricks. These are shaped crafting recipes.[4]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/bricks_blue

All the Compressed
The pack adds compress and decompress recipes for Kivi and for the Xychorium Gem Storage blocks. For example, Kivi becomes Kivi 1x, and Blue Xychorium Gem Storage becomes Blue Xychorium Gem Storage 1x. The red, green, dark and light storage blocks have matching 1x versions, and each compression can be reversed.[4]
Compressing Kivi into its 1x form. The pack changed this recipe.
Mekanism aluminum processing
The pack also changes how aluminum is processed between Mekanism and XyCraft's machines. Dissolution recipes use Liquid Sulfuric Acid on aluminum ore, raw aluminum or raw aluminum blocks to produce dirty aluminum slurry. A separate crystallizing recipe turns clean aluminum slurry into Aluminum Crystal. All of these are marked as changed by the pack.[4]
Dyed lights
The XyCraft lights, such as the RGB Lantern Lamp, RGB Flush Lamp, RGB Cube Lamp and RGB Pillar Lamp, are based on color. The "XyCraft Lights" quest quest says the color of the RGB lights comes from the dye, specifically the dye and not the gem.[3]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use XyCraft World?
2 parts
Two quest chapters in the pack touch XyCraft World: the XyCraft chapter, where the mod's gems and Kivi get their own quests, and the Building Tips chapter, where its blocks, glass and lamps show up as decoration.[1][3]
The XyCraft chapter
The chapter opens with the welcome quest "XyCraft" quest. It tells you that XyCraft World gives you the gems, which you can get by sieving. Next to it is "Kivi" quest, which asks for Kivi. The quest says Kivi is used for decorations and machines, and that you need it for Machine Frames and other XyCraft machines. You can also use it with Xychorium Gems in a Stonecutter for decorative blocks.[1]
Here is how the rest of the chapter flows from those two quests:[1]
- Five gem quests come after the welcome quest, each asking for one gem: "Blue Xychorium Gems" quest for Blue Xychorium Gem, "Dark Xychorium Gems" quest for Dark Xychorium Gem, "Red Xychorium Gems" quest for Red Xychorium Gem, "Green Xychorium Gems" quest for Green Xychorium Gem and "Light Xychorium Gems" quest for Light Xychorium Gem.[1]
- a quest in "XyCraft" comes after the Kivi quest. The quest says that reinforcing Kivi with Aluminum gives you Machine Frames, which are needed to craft machines.[1]
- Five machine quests then each need one gem quest plus the Machine Base quest: "Water Block" quest after the blue gems, "Fluid Void" quest after the dark gems, "Ignition Plate" quest after the red gems, "Accelerated Planter" quest after the green gems and "Light Field" quest after the light gems.[1]
The Kivi quest also leads into the tank and storage branch. "Fluid Storage and Manipulation" quest, "Item Storage and Manipulation" quest and a quest in "XyCraft" all come after it. Those quests ask for items from XyCraft Machines rather than XyCraft World.[1]
The Building Tips chapter
Here the pack treats XyCraft World as decoration. Three quests cover it, and each sits under a general building quest.[3]
- "XyCraft World" quest comes after "Colored Blocks" quest. It says XyCraft is all about 5 different colors, and that this includes blocks in Green, Red, Blue, Dark and Light.[3]
- "XyCraft Glass" quest comes after the glass quest a quest in "Building Tips". It says XyCraft adds plenty of glasses with its World Core, from ones you can walk through to glowing and stronger ones.[3]
- "XyCraft Lights" quest comes after the light source quest a quest in "Building Tips". It accepts any one of RGB Lantern Lamp, RGB Flush Lamp, RGB Cube Lamp or RGB Pillar Lamp. The quest says the RGB lights take the color of the Dye they are made with, not the gem.[3]
The glass and light quests share their parent quest with quests for other mods, such as Macaw's Windows after the glass quest and Macaw's Lights and Lamps after the light source quest.[3]
