What is XyCraft World?
2 parts
This pack includes XyCraft World 0.7.53. It has been in the pack since version 1.0 or earlier.[1]
XyCraft World is the gem and building half of the XyCraft series. The pack's quest book says the Xychorium Gems come from sieving. It also adds Kivi, which you use for decoration and for machines. You need it for Machine Frames and other XyCraft machines, and you can combine it with Xychorium Gems in a Stonecutter for decorative blocks.[2]
There are five gem colors: Red Xychorium Gem, Green Xychorium Gem, Blue Xychorium Gem, Dark Xychorium Gem and Light Xychorium Gem.[2]
Where it sits in the quest book
The main home is the "XyCraft" chapter, which has 26 quests and covers both XyCraft: World and XyCraft: Machines. It opens with "XyCraft" quest, and "Kivi" quest is the quest for Kivi. The five gem quests each come right after the opening quest, and a quest in "XyCraft" comes after the Kivi quest.[2]
After that, several machine quests need one gem quest plus the Machine Base quest:[2]
- "Water Block" quest follows the Blue Xychorium Gems quest.[2]
- "Ignition Plate" quest follows the Red Xychorium Gems quest.[2]
- "Accelerated Planter" quest follows the Green Xychorium Gems quest.[2]
- "Fluid Void" quest follows the Dark Xychorium Gems quest.[2]
- "Light Field" quest follows the Light Xychorium Gems quest.[2]
In the Building Tips chapter
XyCraft World also shows up in the "Building Tips" chapter, which has 67 quests. Only some of them are shown to me, so the rest are in the quest book. "XyCraft World" quest comes after "Colored Blocks" quest. It describes XyCraft as built around its 5 colors, with Green, Red, Blue, Dark and Light blocks of all sorts.[3]
"XyCraft Lights" quest comes after the lighting quest a quest in "Building Tips", which itself follows "Decoration!" quest. It accepts any of RGB Lantern Lamp, RGB Flush Lamp, RGB Cube Lamp or RGB Pillar Lamp. The quest says an RGB light takes the color of the Dye it is made with, not the color of the gem.[3]
How do you get started with XyCraft World?
5 parts
The pack's quest book describes the XyCraft series as mostly dedicated to XyCraft: World and Machines, and says World gives you the gems, which you get by sieving. Here is the order I would go in.[2]
Get Kivi first
Kivi is where everything starts. The "Kivi" quest quest says you need it for Machine Frames and other XyCraft machines, and that it is used for decorations too. Get a supply going early.[2]
In this pack you can sieve it. These sieve recipes are added by the pack, one for the golden mesh and one for the diamond mesh:[4]
Sieve (exdeorum)
Recipe id: allthemods:exdeorum/golden_mesh/gravel/xycraft_world/kivi
Sieve (exdeorum)
Recipe id: allthemods:exdeorum/diamond_mesh/gravel/xycraft_world/kivi
There are other routes as well: Extractor recipes, a Cobblegen Galore block generator recipe that the pack changed, and a decompress recipe that turns one compressed Kivi into 9× Kivi. The Extractor has its own quest in the XyCraft chapter, placed after the Kivi quest.[2][4]
Collect the five gems
There are five Xychorium gems: Blue Xychorium Gem, Dark Xychorium Gem, Green Xychorium Gem, Light Xychorium Gem and Red Xychorium Gem. In the XyCraft quest chapter, each gem has its own quest placed right after the first XyCraft quest.[2]
For the blue and dark gems, the pack adds sieve recipes:[4]
Sieve (exdeorum)

Sieve (exdeorum)
Recipe id: allthemods:exdeorum/diamond_mesh/dust/xycraft_world/xychorium_gem_dark
Later, a XyCraft Machines crusher recipe takes Kivi and lists all five gem colors as outputs. Blue and dark gems can also be packed into storage blocks and unpacked again.[4]
Aluminum bricks and tiles
Aluminum Bricks is the starting point for the aluminum building blocks. Tiles are crafted from the bricks:[4]

Recipe id: xycraft:shaped/aluminum_bricks
Crafting Shaped
4 × Aluminum Bricks
Recipe id: xycraft:shaped/aluminum_tiles
The colored versions, such as Blue Aluminum Bricks and Dark Aluminum Bricks, are crafted with a Xychorium gem, aluminum and something of that color.[4]
Light up your base
For lighting, there are the Aluminum Torch and the RGB Lamp:[4]

Recipe id: xycraft:shaped/aluminum_torch
Where to go next
Once you have Kivi and gems, the XyCraft chapter continues with the a quest in "XyCraft" quest, which says to reinforce the Kivi with aluminum to get Machine Frames. Kivi can also be used with the gems in a Stonecutter for decorative blocks, as the Kivi quest explains. The Building Tips chapter also has a "XyCraft World" quest quest about the five colors, placed after its Colored Blocks quest.[2][3]
How does XyCraft World work?
4 parts
XyCraft World is mostly a building and decoration mod in this pack, so its core mechanics are recipe chains rather than big machines. The sources here don't explain any power, fluid or multiblock rules, so this section sticks to what the recipes show.[4][5]
Making Kivi
Kivi is the resource with the most routes into it. One route is a machine recipe of the type xycraft_machines:extractor, which turns water into Kivi.[4]
There is a second extractor recipe that needs no item input at all. Its id mentions a catalyst and a water block, but the sources don't say what that means in practice.[4]
The pack also adds a sieve recipe for Kivi, so you can get it without the Extractor.[4]
Sieve (exdeorum)
Recipe id: allthemods:exdeorum/diamond_mesh/gravel/xycraft_world/kivi
The pack has also changed the cobblestone generator recipe that produces Kivi, and the decompression recipe that gives you 9 Kivi from one compressed Kivi block.[4]
Blue Xychorium gems and ore
Blue Xychorium Gem has several pack-specific routes. The pack changed the Mekanism enriching recipe so a Blue Xychorium ore gives 10 gems, and it added a sieve recipe for the gem too.[4]
Enriching (mekanism)

Blue Xychorium Ore can be made by an Actually Additions mining lens, using a recipe the pack changed. Once you have gems, you can pack them into Blue Xychorium Gem Storage.[4]

Stonecutting and block variants
The stonecutter handles a lot of this mod's blocks. The recipe dump counts 76 stonecutting recipes that make XyCraft World blocks, and 76 of their ingredients are blocks from this mod. Aluminum Bricks is a good example: you can craft it, and you can also stonecut it.[4]

Glass viewers and lamps
Glass viewers upgrade in steps. A Reinforced Glass Viewer is the base for an Immortal Glass Viewer. Adding a glow ink sac to cheap glass gives 8 Glowing Glass Viewer, and chorus fruit does the same for Phantom Glass Viewer.[4]

Lamps flip between two states by crafting. A single Inverted RGB Lamp becomes an RGB Lamp.[4]
Aurey blocks can also be made to glow by crafting. A glow ink sac and a Matte Aurey Block give a Glowing Matte Aurey Block.[4]

How do you progress through XyCraft World?
5 parts
In this pack, XyCraft World progression follows the quest book: start with the welcome quest, get Kivi, collect the five gem colors, then move on to the machines and decorative blocks. This section follows that order.[2]
Step 1: The XyCraft chapter and Kivi
The chapter begins with "XyCraft" quest. It tells you that XyCraft World gives you the gems, which you can get by sieving. The "Kivi" quest quest asks for Kivi. The book says you need Kivi for Machine Frames and other XyCraft machines, and that Kivi plus Xychorium Gems in a Stonecutter makes decorative blocks.[2]
The pack adds sieve recipes that give Kivi from gravel with an iron, golden or diamond mesh. The Extractor also has recipes that produce Kivi from anything in the water tag, and the pack changed a Cobble Gen Galore block generator recipe for Kivi.[4]
This is one of the Extractor routes to Kivi, using anything in the water tag.
Step 2: The five gems
Blue, Dark, Red, Green and Light gems each have their own quest, and all five unlock after the welcome quest: "Blue Xychorium Gems" quest, "Dark Xychorium Gems" quest, "Red Xychorium Gems" quest, "Green Xychorium Gems" quest and "Light Xychorium Gems" quest.[2]
In this pack the sieve recipes for Blue Xychorium Gem, Dark Xychorium Gem and Green Xychorium Gem are added by the pack. They use a diamond mesh on dust.[4]
Sieve (exdeorum)
Recipe id: allthemods:exdeorum/diamond_mesh/dust/xycraft_world/xychorium_gem_blue
The Dark and Green gems have matching sieve recipes added by the pack.
There are other routes too. The XyCraft crusher recipe lists all five colors as outputs, including Light Xychorium Gem and Red Xychorium Gem. The pack also changed the Mekanism enriching recipes for Blue, Dark and Green ore, and each of those gives 10 gems. Mining lens recipes for Blue Xychorium Ore, Dark Xychorium Ore and Green Xychorium Ore were changed by the pack as well.[4]

Recipe id: xycraft:crusher/xychorium
Enriching (mekanism)
- any xychorium ore
- any blue color
Recipe id: xycraft_machines:compat/mek/processing/xychorium/blue_ore
For storage, Blue, Dark and Green gems each have a storage block recipe, and unpacking one storage block gives back 9 gems, for example Blue Xychorium Gem Storage.[4]
Step 3: Aluminum building blocks
Aluminum shows up in the building blocks: Aluminum Bricks come first, and Aluminum Tiles are made from them. Colored versions such as Blue Aluminum Bricks and Dark Aluminum Bricks exist too. Aluminum also appears in the Machine Frame step, where the quest says to reinforce the Kivi with it.[2][4]
Crafting Shaped
4 × any aluminum ingot

Crafting Shaped

Step 4: Machines in the quest book
After Kivi, the chapter opens a quest in "XyCraft", which needs the Machine Frames. Each gem color then unlocks one machine quest that also needs the Machine Base: "Water Block" quest (Blue), "Fluid Void" quest (Dark), "Ignition Plate" quest (Red), "Accelerated Planter" quest (Green) and "Light Field" quest (Light). Kivi also opens the fluid and item storage branches, plus the a quest in "XyCraft" quest.[2]
Glass and lights
The Building Tips chapter covers the decorative side. "XyCraft World" quest sits after Colored Blocks and says XyCraft is all about the 5 colors. "XyCraft Glass" quest follows the vanilla glass quest, and "XyCraft Lights" quest follows the light source quest. That last quest says the RGB lights take the color of the Dye they are made with, not the gem.[3]
Glass Viewers have several upgrade steps in the recipe list, including Reinforced Glass Viewer, Immortal Glass Viewer, Glowing Glass Viewer and Phantom Glass Viewer versions. The recipes for the Immortal and Glowing viewers are shown below.[4]

How does XyCraft World work with other mods?
4 parts
XyCraft World connects to the rest of the pack through Ex Deorum sieving, vanilla building blocks that you color with the gems, All the Compressed storage recipes, and the dye-based lamps. Here's how each one works.[3][4]
Ex Deorum: where your gems and Kivi come from
The pack adds Ex Deorum sieve recipes for the mod's raw materials. Every Xychorium Gem (blue, dark, green, light and red) comes from sieving Dust, and Kivi comes from sieving Gravel.[4]
- Gems: the sieve recipes accept the Flint Mesh, Iron Mesh, Diamond Mesh and Netherite Mesh.[4]
- Kivi: the sieve recipes accept the Iron Mesh, Golden Mesh, Diamond Mesh and Netherite Mesh. The flint mesh has no Kivi recipe in the sources.[4]
Sieve (exdeorum)
Recipe id: allthemods:exdeorum/iron_mesh/gravel/xycraft_world/kivi
One of the pack's sieve recipes for Kivi.
The Kivi quest ("Kivi" quest) tells you what it's for: Machine Frames and other XyCraft machines, plus decorative blocks. Each gem also has its own quest in the XyCraft chapter: "Blue Xychorium Gems" quest, "Dark Xychorium Gems" quest, "Red Xychorium Gems" quest, "Green Xychorium Gems" quest and "Light Xychorium Gems" quest.[2]
Colored vanilla blocks
The gems also work with vanilla building blocks. There are colored versions of bricks, chiseled stone bricks, chiseled deepslate, chiseled nether bricks, chiseled polished blackstone, chiseled sandstone, chiseled red sandstone, chiseled tuff and chiseled tuff bricks. Each one is crafted from its vanilla counterpart and a gem of the matching color. For example, you get Blue Bricks with a blue gem.[4]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/bricks_blue
The other colors follow the same pattern with their matching gem.
The sources list one wood variant: Blue Chiseled Wood Pillar, which uses a blue gem and any planks.[4]
Crafting Shaped
| any plank | |
| any plank |
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/chiseled_wood_pillar_blue
The Kivi quest text also says Kivi can be used with Xychorium Gems in a Stonecutter for decorative blocks.[2]
All the Compressed
The pack has compress and decompress recipes for Kivi and for all five gem storage blocks, such as Blue Xychorium Gem Storage. They give you Kivi 1x and the matching 1x storage blocks, like Blue Xychorium Gem Storage 1x, and the decompress recipes turn them back. These recipes are marked as changed by the pack.[4]
Lights and dyes
XyCraft's RGB lamps, like RGB Cube Lamp and RGB Lantern Lamp, take their color from the dye they are made with, specifically the dye and not the gem. The "XyCraft Lights" quest ("XyCraft Lights" quest) points this out.[3]
Which All the Mods 10: To the Sky quests use XyCraft World?
2 parts
This mod shows up in two quest chapters in this pack: the XyCraft chapter, where it is the starting point, and the Building Tips chapter, where it is one of the decoration options.[2][3]
The XyCraft chapter
The chapter opens with "XyCraft" quest. It explains that the XyCraft mods are mostly about World and Machines, and that World gives you the gems, which can be obtained by sieving.[2]
"Kivi" quest asks you for Kivi. The quest says Kivi is mainly for decorations and machines, and that you need it for Machine Frames and other XyCraft machines. You can also use it with Xychorium Gems in a Stonecutter for decorative blocks.[2]
Five gem quests come right after the intro quest. Each one asks you to hand in one gem:[2]
- "Red Xychorium Gems" quest: Red Xychorium Gem[2]
- "Green Xychorium Gems" quest: Green Xychorium Gem[2]
- "Blue Xychorium Gems" quest: Blue Xychorium Gem[2]
- "Dark Xychorium Gems" quest: Dark Xychorium Gem[2]
- "Light Xychorium Gems" quest: Light Xychorium Gem[2]
These gems unlock the next machine quests. Each of the quests below needs its gem quest plus the Machine Base quest, which itself comes after the Kivi quest:[2]
- "Ignition Plate" quest needs the red gem quest.[2]
- "Accelerated Planter" quest needs the green gem quest.[2]
- "Water Block" quest needs the blue gem quest.[2]
- "Fluid Void" quest needs the dark gem quest.[2]
- "Light Field" quest needs the light gem quest.[2]
The Machine Base quest is a quest in "XyCraft". It says you reinforce the Kivi with Aluminum to get Machine Frames, which are needed to craft machines.[2]
The Building Tips chapter
Building Tips has three XyCraft World quests. "XyCraft World" quest comes after "Colored Blocks" quest. It says XyCraft is all about 5 colors, and that this includes blocks in Green, Red, Blue, Dark and Light.[3]
"XyCraft Glass" quest comes after the vanilla glass quest a quest in "Building Tips". It points out that XyCraft adds plenty of glasses, from ones you can walk through to glowing and stronger ones.[3]
"XyCraft Lights" quest comes after the lighting quest a quest in "Building Tips". It asks for one of the four RGB lamps: RGB Lantern Lamp, RGB Flush Lamp, RGB Cube Lamp or RGB Pillar Lamp.[3]
