What is XyCraft Override?
Same as in the All the Mods 10 4.5 guide
XyCraft Override is included in this pack at version 0.7.45, shipped as the file xycraft_override-0.7.45.jar. Its registry namespace is xycraft_override.[1]
It has been part of the pack for a while. It first appeared in version 2.2 of the pack or earlier, so it isn't a recent addition.[1]
Unverified The sources I have only confirm that the mod is in the pack and which version it is. They don't describe what the mod adds, who it's best suited for, or where it fits in the progression, so I'm not going to guess. I also can't confirm any quests involving this mod or a place for it on the ATM Star path.
How do you get started with XyCraft Override?
2 parts
XyCraft Override is all about colour variants of familiar building blocks. In this pack the colours are Blue, Dark, Green, Light and Red. Getting started is easy, because the recipes you will use first are quick crafts that each give you 2 blocks.[2][3]
Your first crafts, in order
- Start with the plain brick variants, such as Blue Bricks and Red Bricks. Each craft makes 2 blocks, and the same pattern covers the Dark, Green and Light versions too.[2][3]
- Move on to the chiseled stone variants, like Blue Chiseled Stone Bricks. They follow the same pattern as the bricks: one craft, 2 coloured blocks.[2][3]
- Branch out to the other stone types once you have the hang of it. There are coloured versions of chiseled deepslate, chiseled nether bricks, chiseled polished blackstone, chiseled sandstone, chiseled red sandstone and chiseled tuff bricks, plus Blue Chiseled Tuff.[2][3]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/bricks_blue
The first recipe to try. It makes 2 Blue Bricks, and the other colours of Bricks have their own matching recipes.
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/chiseled_stone_bricks_blue
A chiseled variant, with the same 2-block output.
There is a lot to craft here. The recipe dump counts 135 shaped crafting recipes that make XyCraft Override blocks, with 130 different results. So pick a colour you like and work through the stone types one at a time.[2]
Smooth blocks use the stonecutter
Not everything is made at the crafting table. Smooth Polished Tuff and Smooth Smooth Stone have stonecutting recipes instead.[2][3]

How does XyCraft Override work?
2 parts
Heads up before you go looking for machines: in the sources for this pack, XyCraft Override is a block-variant mod. Everything it lists is a decorative block, and no machines, multiblocks, power, fluid or item handling are described. What it does have is a simple crafting pattern, and it's worth knowing before you start building.[2][3]
Colour variants of familiar blocks
The mod adds recolored versions of vanilla-style blocks, each in the shades blue, dark, green, light and red. Examples are Blue Bricks, Dark Chiseled Deepslate and Green Chiseled Nether Bricks. The same shade pattern shows up across bricks, chiseled blocks and more.[2][3]
The recipes behind them are shaped crafting recipes, and each of the recipes written out in the pack's recipe dump gives you 2 of the coloured block. In total the pack has 135 of these shaped recipes covering 130 different results.[2]

Smooth blocks with connected textures
Two blocks work a little differently: Smooth Polished Tuff and Smooth Smooth Stone. Both carry a tooltip saying they have a connected texture, so placed side by side they should read as one continuous surface.[3]
Both also have stonecutting recipes where the output is the block itself. The input is that same block or any block from a matching group.[2]

How do you progress through XyCraft Override?
2 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
This mod has no tier ladder in this pack. What the recipes show is a family of decorative block variants, each made in the colors blue, dark, green, light and red.[4]
How the progression works
Every recipe in the sources is a shaped crafting recipe that combines a vanilla block with a Xychorium Gem of the matching color. So the only step is to get the gem color you want, then craft the block variants you like.[4]
The variants include Blue Bricks, Blue Crying Obsidian, Blue Chiseled Deepslate and Blue Chiseled Tuff. There are also chiseled sandstone, red sandstone, stone bricks, nether bricks, polished blackstone and wood pillar versions, plus deepslate bricks.[4]
Example recipes
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/bricks_blue
Vanilla bricks plus a Blue Xychorium Gem. The other colors use the matching gem.
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/crying_obsidian_blue
Crying obsidian follows the same pattern with the matching gem color.
The deepslate bricks variants use polished deepslate as the base block instead of a block with the same name, so look at the recipe before you gather materials.[4]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/deepslate_bricks_blue
Polished deepslate plus a Blue Xychorium Gem gives Blue Deepslate Bricks.
The chiseled wood pillar is the odd one out. It takes any planks instead of a specific vanilla block, and each color has an additional recipe entry that makes the same pillar.[4]

Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/chiseled_wood_pillar_blue

Unverified The sources here show no quests for this mod, so any quest chapter or tier gating around it is not confirmed. The recipe dump I was given is also cut off, so this section lists what the shown recipes confirm, not every recipe the mod adds.
How does XyCraft Override work with other mods?
3 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
In this pack, the clearest link between XyCraft Override and other mods is its set of colored building blocks. Each one is crafted from a vanilla Minecraft block plus a Xychorium Gem. The gems come from the xycraft_world namespace, not from XyCraft Override itself.[4]
Every one of these is a standard shaped crafting recipe, and each comes in blue, dark, green, light and red. The gem's color decides the color of the block you get.[4]
Which vanilla blocks get colored versions
Here is each vanilla block that gets a colored version, shown with its blue result as an example. The other colors follow the same pattern.[4]
- Bricks becomes Blue Bricks.[4]
- Chiseled Deepslate becomes Blue Chiseled Deepslate.[4]
- Chiseled Nether Bricks becomes Blue Chiseled Nether Bricks.[4]
- Chiseled Polished Blackstone becomes Blue Chiseled Polished Blackstone.[4]
- Chiseled Red Sandstone becomes Blue Chiseled Red Sandstone.[4]
- Chiseled Sandstone becomes Blue Chiseled Sandstone.[4]
- Chiseled Stone Bricks becomes Blue Chiseled Stone Bricks.[4]
- Chiseled Tuff becomes Blue Chiseled Tuff.[4]
- Chiseled Tuff Bricks becomes Blue Chiseled Tuff Bricks.[4]
- Crying Obsidian becomes Blue Crying Obsidian.[4]
- Deepslate Tiles becomes Blue Deepslate Tiles.[4]
- End Stone Bricks becomes Blue End Stone Bricks.[4]
- Gilded Blackstone becomes Blue Gilded Blackstone.[4]
Recipes that work a little differently
The colored deepslate bricks don't start from deepslate bricks. They use Polished Deepslate as the vanilla block, so Blue Deepslate Bricks is made from that.[4]
Crafting Shaped
Recipe id: xycraft_override:shaped/deepslate_bricks_blue
The chiseled wood pillars accept any item from the vanilla planks tag, so any wood type works. Blue Chiseled Wood Pillar is the blue example. Each pillar color also has an extra recipe id ending in _r, and it gives the same result.[4]

A simple example
The brick recipe is a good one to start with, since it only needs a vanilla block and a gem.[4]
