What is Powah!?
3 parts
Powah! is a tech mod all about energy: generating it, storing it and moving it around. It runs on FE, so the power you make can feed machines from other tech mods like Mekanism or Industrial Foregoing. If your base needs power, this is one of the most straightforward ways to get it.[1][2][3]
What you get
- Generators: the Furnator (Starter) burns furnace fuel like coal and wood, the Magmator (Starter) runs on lava, the Solar Panel (Starter) needs sunlight, the Thermo Generator (Starter) sits on a heat source, and the Reactor (Starter) is a multiblock that burns Uraninite.[1][3][4][5][6]
- Storage and transfer: Energy Cables, Energy Cells, Batteries and the upgradable Ender Network.[1][3]
- Charging gadgets: the Energy Hopper (Starter) charges items in an adjacent inventory, the Energy Discharger (Starter) drains charged items back into FE, and the Player Transmitter (Starter) charges your items wirelessly once you bind it with a Binding Card.[3][7][8][9]
- The Energizing crafting system, built around the Energizing Orb and Energizing Rods.[1][10]
How it fits into this pack
The pack has a dedicated Powah quest chapter. It kicks off with "Welcome to Powah!!!" quest, which sends you out to mine Raw Uraninite. Next up is "Starting with Dielectric Mats" quest: almost every machine in the mod needs a Dielectric Casing, and you have to make the Dielectric Paste first.[3]
Early on, you can build the Starter and Basic tier machines with iron. To go further, you need energized materials from the Energizing Orb, which you unlock in "The Energizing Orb" quest. From there you climb the tiers: Starter, Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and finally Nitro.[3][10]
The ATM Star path
Powah is part of the ATM Star chapter too. The "Powah" quest quest asks for Dielectric Paste. It leads to "Nitro Player Transmitter" quest, which needs a Player Transmitter (Nitro). Nitro is the last and hardest tier in the mod, so plan on taking Powah all the way to the top if you're going for the Star.[2]
How do you get started with Powah!?
4 parts
Same as in the All the Mods 10 8.1 guide
Powah! is the pack's go-to tech mod for generating, storing and transmitting energy, and the quest chapter walks you through it in a very specific order. The very first quest just asks you to go mining and bring back some Raw Uraninite, so grab an iron or better pickaxe and head underground.[1][11]
Uraninite Ore is rare and sits below Y 64 for the poor variant, below Y 20 for the normal one and below Y 0 for dense, generating in deposits of 1 to 5 blocks. Each ore drops Raw Uraninite depending on the type, and Fortune increases the amount.[12]
Dielectric materials come first
Once you've done that, "Starting with Dielectric Mats" quest is the real gateway: almost every machine in the mod needs a Dielectric Casing, and the casing needs paste and rods first. Make the paste, then the rods, then the casing, and you've unlocked the rest of the tree.[11]

Capacitors set your tier
The quest tree branches into tier gates, and the two earliest ones are "Tier: Tiny" quest and "Tier: Basic" quest. Crafting a Basic Capacitor (Tiny) opens up the whole starter tier line, and a Basic Capacitor opens the basic tier line. Note that the pack changed the Basic Capacitor recipe, so check it in-game rather than relying on old tutorials.[11][13]

Your first generator and cables
With the tiny capacitor done you can pick a starter generator. The quest book offers several and they all work at this stage, so choose whichever fits your base.[11]
- The Furnator (Starter) burns solid furnace fuel like coal and wood to produce FE. It's the simplest thing to get running.[11][14]
- The Thermo Generator (Starter) is one of the best passive options: place it over a heat source and keep it supplied with water. In this pack you can use a magma block for the least output, a lava source block for a bit more, or a Block Of Blazing Crystal for the most heat.[11]
- The Magmator (Starter) generates FE from lava, and the Solar Panel (Starter) generates while it has direct access to the sun, though a Lens Of Ender lets it see through blocks above it.[11][15][16][17]
You'll also want Energy Cable (Starter) to move that power around, plus an Energy Cell (Starter) as an early power bank and a Battery (Starter) to charge items in your inventory.[11]

Build the Energizing Orb
"The Energizing Orb" quest is where Powah! really opens up. Starter and basic gear can be built with iron, but everything past that needs energized materials, and those come from the Energizing Orb. The orb energizes items using Energizing Rods placed within a 9x9 area around it.[11][18]
The orb itself doesn't need energy, but the rods do: place them on energy cables or any FE block that's receiving power. More rods or higher tier rods mean faster energizing, so it's fine to start with one Energizing Rod (Starter) and add more later.[11][18]
Your first energizing target is Energized Steel, which unlocks "Tier: Energized" quest and the hardened tier. From there the orb feeds the crystal tiers: blazing, niotic, spirited and nitro.[11]
How does Powah! work?
7 parts
Powah! is a tech mod built around one thing: energy. You generate Forge Energy (FE), store it, move it around, and spend it on crafting and charging gear. Almost every block comes in the same ladder of tiers: Starter, Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro. Higher tiers hold more and move energy faster.[1][4][20]
Generators
The Furnator burns solid furnace fuel like coal or wood. Higher tiers generate more FE/t and have a higher energy output. They also burn fuel faster, but you get the same energy per fuel tick. In this pack, general.energy_per_fuel_tick is set to 30.[4][20]
The Magmator does the same job with hot fluids like lava. It follows the same tier rules: more FE/t at higher tiers, with fuel burned faster for the same energy per fuel tick.[5]
The Thermo Generator works differently. You place it on top of a hot block or fluid, like lava, and it needs a coolant fluid, like water, to run.[21]
Solar Panels generate energy in sunlight, and higher tiers generate more FE/t. Any block above the panel that stops light also stops its production. You can get around that by applying a Lens Of Ender, which lets the panel see through blocks. This pack has general.lens_of_ender enabled, so you get the lens by using a Photoelectric Pane on an Enderman or Endermite.[20][22][23][24]
The Reactor multiblock
The Reactor is Powah's multiblock generator, and it runs on Uraninite as its main fuel. Building it is easy: hold 36 Reactor blocks in your hand and place them in a 3X4 replaceable area. The reactor then finishes building itself automatically.[6]
The reactor has a generation mode that stops it when its energy is full and starts it again once it drops below 70%. That way you don't waste fuel while nothing is drawing power.[24]
Dry Ice is mainly used to cool reactors. You can find it underground below level 64, or make it by energizing two pieces of blue ice.[25]
For fuel, Uraninite Ore comes in three grades. Poor ore generates below level 64, normal ore below 20, and dense ore below 0, all in deposits of 1 to 5 blocks. You need an iron or better pickaxe to mine it, and Fortune increases the Raw Uraninite you get.[26]
Cables, cells and batteries
Energy Cables carry power between machines. To change a cable's transfer mode, right-click it with the Wrench in Config mode. The Wrench also has a Link mode for linkable blocks like the energizing orb and rods, and a Rotate mode that turns blocks horizontally.[27][28]
Energy Cells are your basic FE storage blocks. Batteries charge items while they sit in your inventory. In this pack, batteries and cells use the same capacity and transfer rate at every tier. Here are the pack's values, with each tier's cable rate for comparison:[20][29][30]
- Starter: cells and batteries hold 1,000,000 with a transfer rate of 1,000. Cables transfer 500.[20]
- Basic: 4,000,000 capacity and a transfer rate of 4,000. Cables transfer 2,000.[20]
- Hardened: 10,000,000 capacity and a transfer rate of 10,000. Cables transfer 5,000.[20]
- Blazing: 40,000,000 capacity and a transfer rate of 40,000. Cables transfer 20,000.[20]
- Niotic: 100,000,000 capacity and a transfer rate of 100,000. Cables transfer 50,000.[20]
- Spirited: 400,000,000 capacity and a transfer rate of 400,000. Cables transfer 200,000.[20]
- Nitro: 2,000,000,000 capacity and a transfer rate of 2,000,000. Cables transfer 1,000,000.[20]
This pack has changed the battery recipes, so check the in-pack version before you plan your crafting. Here is the first tier, the Battery (Starter):[31]

Battery recipes are changed by the pack.
The Ender Network
The Ender Network is Powah's wireless storage. An Ender Cell stores FE on a specific channel of its owner's ender network. You can reach that energy from anywhere in the world, as long as the Ender Cell you use has an active channel with a valid capacity.[32]
To give a channel capacity, shift-click a Battery or an Energy Cell into the Ender Cell GUI. If that battery or cell holds energy, the energy is added to the channel too.[24][29][30]
Ender Gates move energy between the block next to them and the ender network. Unlike the Ender Cell, you can't upgrade the network from a gate. In this pack, both blocks get more channels at higher tiers. Ender Cells transfer at the same rates as Energy Cells, and Ender Gates at the same rates as cables:[20][33]
- Starter: 1 channel. Ender Cells transfer 1,000, Ender Gates 500.[20]
- Basic: 2 channels. Ender Cells transfer 4,000, Ender Gates 2,000.[20]
- Hardened: 3 channels. Ender Cells transfer 10,000, Ender Gates 5,000.[20]
- Blazing: 5 channels. Ender Cells transfer 40,000, Ender Gates 20,000.[20]
- Niotic: 7 channels. Ender Cells transfer 100,000, Ender Gates 50,000.[20]
- Spirited: 9 channels. Ender Cells transfer 400,000, Ender Gates 200,000.[20]
- Nitro: 12 channels. Ender Cells transfer 2,000,000, Ender Gates 1,000,000.[20]
Energizing
Energizing is Powah's own crafting system, and it's how you make many of its materials. The Energizing Orb does the crafting. It needs at least one Energizing Rod within a 9X9 range. The orb itself uses no energy, but the rods must sit on cables or on any FE block. You can connect orbs and rods with the Wrench's Link mode.[1][10][28]
Energizing speed depends on how many rods you use and on their tier, since each rod's I/O rate counts. Here are the rod values in this pack:[10][20]
- Starter rod: 40,000 capacity, 200 transfer rate.[20]
- Basic rod: 160,000 capacity, 800 transfer rate.[20]
- Hardened rod: 400,000 capacity, 2,000 transfer rate.[20]
- Blazing rod: 1,600,000 capacity, 8,000 transfer rate.[20]
- Niotic rod: 4,000,000 capacity, 20,000 transfer rate.[20]
- Spirited rod: 16,000,000 capacity, 80,000 transfer rate.[20]
- Nitro rod: 80,000,000 capacity, 400,000 transfer rate.[20]
Energizing isn't only for materials. Energize a snowball and you get a Charged Snowball, which calls down a bolt of lightning wherever it hits the ground or a mob.[34]
Charging and draining items
The Energy Hopper charges chargeable items inside a neighboring inventory, like a chest. Its tooltip shows the charging speed in FE/t. In this pack, hopper charging rates go from 500 at Starter up to 1,000,000 at Nitro, and hopper capacities from 1,000,000 up to 2,000,000,000.[8][20][24]
The Energy Discharger works the other way around. It drains FE out of charged items into an internal buffer, and you can pull that energy back out through cables. In this pack, discharger capacities go from 1,000,000 at Starter to 2,000,000,000 at Nitro, with transfer rates from 1,000 to 2,000,000.[7][20]
Wireless player charging
The Player Transmitter charges items in a linked player's inventory without any wires, including armor slots and the off-hand. With a normal Binding Card, it reaches you anywhere in the same dimension. With a Dimensional Binding Card, it works across dimensions.[9]
- Right-click a Binding Card to bind it to yourself before you put it in the Player Transmitter.[24][35]
- For cross-dimension charging, use a Binding Card on an Enderman or Endermite to get a Dimensional Binding Card. This is enabled in this pack through general.dimensional_binding_card. Bind it to yourself with a right-click, just like the normal card.[20][24][36]
- To craft the transmitter, you need a Player Aerial Pearl. Get one by using an Aerial Pearl on a Zombie or Husk, which this pack allows through general.player_aerial_pearl.[20][24][37]
The pack has also changed the Binding Card recipe, so use this in-pack version:[31]

How do you progress through Powah!?
5 parts
Powah! runs on a tier ladder, and the pack's Powah quest chapter walks you up it one step at a time. It all starts with mining some Uraninite. From there you work up to Reactors that the quest book says can produce 250k FE/t.[3]
You don't have to find the chapter on your own. The "More Powah!" quest quest in the Basic Power chapter points you to it once you have Uraninite. Early on, the New Beginning chapter also accepts a Furnator (Starter) or Magmator (Starter) as your first generator, Energy Cable (Starter) for moving power, and Energy Cell (Starter) for storage.[38][39]
Getting started
- Complete "Welcome to Powah!!!" quest by getting some Raw Uraninite.[3]
- Move on to "Starting with Dielectric Mats" quest and make Dielectric Paste and a Dielectric Casing. Make the paste first, and craft some rods too, because almost every machine in the mod needs a Dielectric Casing.[3]
- Craft the two capacitor quests, "Tier: Tiny" quest for the Basic Capacitor (Tiny) and "Tier: Basic" quest for the Basic Capacitor. Finishing Tier: Tiny opens up every Starter machine quest: generators, cables, cells, batteries, hoppers, dischargers, transmitters and the "Reactor (Starter)" quest quest.[3]

The tier ladder
The tiers run Starter, Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro. You can see this most clearly in the Reactor quests, which chain from "Reactor (Starter)" quest through "Reactor (Basic)" quest, "Reactor (Hardened)" quest, "Reactor (Blazing)" quest, "Reactor (Niotic)" quest and "Reactor (Spirited)" quest to "Reactor (Nitro)" quest. Each machine upgrade quest also needs the previous tier's quest for that same machine.[3][10]
- Starter and Basic: unlocked by "Tier: Tiny" quest and "Tier: Basic" quest.[3]
- Hardened: unlocked by "Tier: Energized" quest, which asks for Energized Steel.[3]
- Blazing: unlocked by "Tier: Blazing" quest, which asks for Blazing Crystal.[3]
- Niotic: "Tier: Niotic" quest asks for Niotic Crystal.[3]
- Spirited: "Tier: Spirited" quest asks for Spirited Crystal.[3]
- Nitro: "Tier: Nitro" quest asks for Nitro Crystal.[3]
The Energizing Orb
You can build Starter and Basic machines with Iron, but every tier material quest above that unlocks from "The Energizing Orb" quest. The Energizing Orb energizes items using Energizing Rods within a 9x9 area around it. The orb itself doesn't take power. Instead, the rods have to sit on cables or another FE block that is being supplied with energy.[3][10]
The pack also has Mystical Agriculture essence recipes for Energized Steel and each crystal, and it has changed all of them.[31]

Endgame: Nitro and beyond
Nitro is the last and hardest tier, and the pack needs it for the ATM Star. The "Nitro Player Transmitter" quest quest in The ATM Star chapter asks for a Player Transmitter (Nitro). In the Powah chapter, that transmitter comes after the Spirited one and "Tier: Nitro" quest.[2][3]
The Energizing Orb also shows up in the Allthemodium chapter, where it combines Vibranium and Allthemodium. That step needs Nitro Crystal material and 1 billion FE sent into the orb through the rods, so high-tier rods really pay off here.[10][40]
After the ATM Star, you can energize it together with an Energy Cell (Nitro) to get an Energy Cell (Creative), which is tracked by "Energy Cell (Creative)" quest in the Creative chapter.[31][41]

How does Powah! work with other mods?
3 parts
Powah doesn't sit on its own in this pack. Its crystals and Energized Steel can be grown with other mods, its blocks compress into bigger storage blocks, and its Nitro-tier gear feeds into some big endgame crafts. The pack changed or added every recipe below, so check the in-game versions rather than older guides.[31]
Growing Powah materials
If you run Mystical Agriculture, you can craft essences straight into Powah materials. There are essence recipes for Blazing Crystal, Niotic Crystal, Spirited Crystal, Energized Steel and Uraninite. Nitro Crystal has its own Mystical Agradditions recipe.[31]

Productive Bees uses Powah's own Energizing Orb to make its bees. You energize a configurable bee together with a Powah block, such as Block Of Nitro Crystal, and get a Powah-themed bee back. There are bee recipes for the Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro crystal blocks and for Block Of Energized Steel.[31]

Endgame crafting
Nitro-tier Powah items are ingredients in several of the pack's endgame recipes, so it pays to push Powah all the way up.[31]
- Nexium Emitter is a pack-added recipe that combines parts from several tech mods, including a Nitro Player Transmitter.[31]
- Energy Cell (Creative) gets a pack-added Energizing recipe built on the ATM Star and a Nitro Energy Cell.[31]
- The creative Iron Jetpacks parts (the capacitor, the energy cell and the thruster) each use a Nitro-tier Powah item in their pack-added recipes.[31]
- Nitro Crystal Crux uses Powah's Nitro parts.[31]
- Zygarde Cube is made in the Oritech Assembler and uses a Spirited Crystal.[31]

Which All the Mons quests use Powah!?
2 parts
Powah gets its own full quest chapter in this pack, and it also appears in several other chapters: the early power quests in New Beginning and Basic Power, the ATM Star, Allthemodium, and even the Creative chapter. Here's how it all fits together.[2][3][38][39][40][41]
The Powah chapter
The chapter opens by describing Powah as a mod all about generating, storing and transmitting power, from basic FE generation up to Reactors that produce 250k FE/t. It then takes you through a clear progression.[3]
- Start with "Welcome to Powah!!!" quest, which just asks you to mine some Raw Uraninite.[3]
- Next, "Starting with Dielectric Mats" quest asks for Dielectric Paste and Dielectric Casing. The quest notes that almost every machine in the mod needs a Dielectric Casing, so this is your real starting point.[3]
- Craft a Basic Capacitor (Tiny) for "Tier: Tiny" quest and a Basic Capacitor for "Tier: Basic" quest. Both unlock right after the Dielectric quest.[3]
- Once you have Dielectric Mats and Tier: Tiny done, the whole Starter row opens up: Furnator, Magmator, Thermo Generator, Solar Panel, Reactor, Energizing Rod, Energy Cable, Energy Cell, Battery, Energy Hopper, Energy Discharger and Player Transmitter. The Starter Ender Gate and Ender Cell come a little later, after the Starter cable, cell and battery quests.[3]
- "The Energizing Orb" quest asks for an Energizing Orb, a Starter or Basic cable, and a Starter or Basic rod. The quest explains that you can get by with iron for Starter and Basic machines, but you'll need energized materials to go further. The Orb uses nearby Energizing Rods within a 9x9 area around it.[3]
- The Energizing Orb unlocks five tier quests: "Tier: Energized" quest (Energized Steel), "Tier: Blazing" quest (Blazing Crystal), "Tier: Niotic" quest (Niotic Crystal), "Tier: Spirited" quest (Spirited Crystal) and "Tier: Nitro" quest (Nitro Crystal).[3]
- From there, each machine line climbs through Basic, Hardened, Blazing, Niotic, Spirited and Nitro. Every upgrade quest follows the previous version of the same machine, and many also require the matching tier quest. Note that the Hardened machines are gated behind Tier: Energized.[3]
The Reactor line is the backbone of the chapter. It runs "Reactor (Starter)" quest, "Reactor (Basic)" quest, "Reactor (Hardened)" quest, "Reactor (Blazing)" quest, "Reactor (Niotic)" quest, "Reactor (Spirited)" quest and finally "Reactor (Nitro)" quest.[3]
Powah in other chapters
- New Beginning: three early power quests let you use Powah items to complete them. a quest in "New Beginning" accepts a Starter Furnator or Magmator, a quest in "New Beginning" accepts a Starter Energy Cable, and a quest in "New Beginning" accepts a Starter Energy Cell, alongside options from other mods.[39]
- Basic Power: "More Powah!" quest asks for Uraninite and points you to the Powah chapter.[38]
- The ATM Star: "Powah" quest asks for Dielectric Paste, then "Nitro Player Transmitter" quest asks for a Player Transmitter (Nitro). The Star needs the Nitro tier, which the quest calls the last and hardest one to get.[2]
- Allthemodium: a quest in "Allthemodium" asks for an Energizing Orb, which is needed to combine Vibranium and Allthemodium. The quest explains that the Orb has to receive 1 Billion FE through its rods to finish the job.[40]
- Creative: "Energy Cell (Creative)" quest asks for Energy Cell (Creative) and unlocks after the Fully Automated ATM Star. It's a long chain back through the lower Energy Cell tiers, so the quest suggests grabbing a recipe tree.[41]
Which Powah! config options matter?
3 parts
Powah! keeps all of its settings in one config file, and this pack ships its own copy of it. There are a handful of general switches, and then a capacity, transfer rate and sometimes a generation rate for each of the seven tiers: starter, basic, hardened, blazing, niotic, spirited and nitro. Here is what this pack uses.[20]
Unverified The sources don't include the mod's default values, so it isn't confirmed which of these settings the pack changed from the defaults. The config also doesn't state units, so the numbers below are shown as raw values.
General settings
- general.dimensional_binding_card is on (true). You get a Dimensional Binding card by right-clicking an Enderman or Endermite with a Binding card.[20]
- general.lens_of_ender is on (true). You get the Lens Of Ender by right-clicking an Enderman or Endermite with a Photoelectric Pane.[20]
- general.player_aerial_pearl is on (true). You get a Player Aerial Pearl by right-clicking a Zombie or Husk with an Aerial Pearl.[20]
- general.energy_per_fuel_tick is 30. This is the energy the Furnator produces per fuel tick.[20]
- general.energizing_range is 4 and general.energizing_energy_ratio is 1. Both belong to the Energizing crafting system.[1][20]
Storage and transport
Energy cells range from 1,000,000 capacity at starter up to 2,000,000,000 at nitro. Their transfer rate goes from 1,000 to 2,000,000. Batteries, dischargers, hoppers and player transmitters use those same capacity and transfer numbers at every tier. For example, devices.energy_cells.capacities.nitro and devices.batteries.capacities.nitro are both 2,000,000,000.[20]
Energy cables move less. devices.cables.transfer_rates.starter is 500 and devices.cables.transfer_rates.nitro is 1,000,000. Ender gates share the cable transfer rates, while ender cells match the energy cell rates. Both ender blocks get 1 channel at starter and 12 at nitro.[20]
Energizing rods hold 40,000 at starter and 80,000,000 at nitro. Their transfer rate goes from 200 to 400,000.[20]
Generators
- Furnators and Magmators use identical numbers: generation from 80 at starter to 20,000 at nitro, and capacity from 20,000 to 40,000,000.[20]
- Solar panels generate from 40 at starter to 50,000 at nitro. That makes them the strongest single-block generator at the top tier in this config.[20]
- Thermo generators are the weakest option: from 20 at starter to just 1,750 at nitro.[20]
- Reactors are the big one. Generation runs from 500 at starter to 500,000 at nitro, and capacity from 250,000 to 500,000,000.[20]
