What is IntegratedDynamics?
1 part
Integrated Dynamics is the pack's logistics mod: it is all about moving, managing and storing items. This pack ships version 1.36.0, and the quest book recommends it as the least laggy pipe solution. If you want tidy automation without a mess of hopper-style pipes, this is for you.[1][2]
The core of it is the Logic Cable. Other pipes act like hoppers, moving items from one inventory into the pipe and then into the next. Logic Cables skip the middle step, which also skips a lot of lag. They only connect Importers and Interfaces. The quest book starts you off in "Integrated Dynamics" quest and "Logic Cables" quest.[2][3]
How you progress
- Put Menril Logs in a Squeezer and jump on it to get Menril Resin. A Redstone signal empties it.[3]
- Place a Drying Basin next to the Squeezer. It picks up the resin and, after 7.5 seconds, turns it into a Block of Crystallized Menril.[3]
- Craft those blocks into Crystallized Menril Chunk. The quest book calls these the main crafting ingredient of the mod ("Crystallized Menril Chunks" quest).[3]
With chunks in hand, the quests branch out. The Energy Battery stores FE, and you need Energy Interfaces to transfer it. The Generator makes FE from burnable fuels like Coal. The Mechanical Squeezer and Mechanical Drying Basin are the energy-powered versions of the early machines.[3]
For the logic side, Variable Card cards go into an Importer so you can set limits, slots and channels ("Variable Cards" quest). Later, the Logic Programmer sets variable values, for example an item filter. The Portable Logic Programmer does the same job anywhere, and the Variable Store holds your variables or serves in advanced networks.[3]
How do you get started with IntegratedDynamics?
6 parts
The main crafting ingredient of Integrated Dynamics is Crystallized Menril, so your first job in this pack is a small production line for it. After that the rest of the mod opens up. Here is the order I'd go in.[3]
Step one: make Menril Resin with a Squeezer
Craft a Squeezer first. Place some Menril Logs in it, then jump on it to turn them into Menril Resin. If you need to empty it, give it a Redstone signal. Menril trees are easiest to find in Meneglin biomes.[3][4]
Step two: dry it in a Drying Basin
The resin comes out on 2 sides of the Squeezer. Put a Drying Basin next to the Squeezer and it picks the resin up. After 7.5 seconds the resin becomes a Block of Crystallized Menril.[3]

Step three: turn the blocks into Chunks
Blocks of Crystallized Menril craft into Crystallized Menril Chunk, which the quest calls the main crafting ingredient of the mod. That is the quest "Crystallized Menril Chunks" quest. You will use chunks in nearly every recipe below.[3]

The pack also changes two recipes that skip the Drying Basin. A Productive Bees centrifuge turns Menril Resin into a chunk plus wax, and Productive Metalworks casting turns resin and a nugget cast into a chunk.[5]

Step four: Wrench and Logic Cables
The Wrench rotates or destroys certain blocks. Shift right-click in the air to change modes.[3]

Next come Logic Cable (see "Logic Cables" quest). They don't behave like other pipes, which act like hoppers and move items from one inventory into the cable and then into the next. Logic Cables skip that middle step, which also cuts lag. They only connect Importers and Interfaces.[2][3]

Step five: Variable Cards
Variable Card are needed to start interactions such as importing items. Put one in a slot of the Importer, then edit it with the + button. You can change the amount, the item slot and the channel. If you only want to move items, drop the card in and adjust the Limit.[2][3]

Recipe id: integrateddynamics:crafting/variable
Step six: power and automation
Once you have chunks, the Energy Battery stores FE, and moving that energy needs Energy Interfaces. The Generator produces FE from burnable fuels like Coal. The Mechanical Squeezer and Mechanical Drying Basin use that energy to automate the resin line from the first two steps.[3][6]

When you want filtering and more advanced setups, make a Logic Programmer. It sets variable values, such as an item for filtering. Put a Variable Card in the bottom right slot, then put that card in an importer or exporter, and it will only move that item.[3]
How does IntegratedDynamics work?
5 parts
Integrated Dynamics is built around logic networks. Going by the advancement and aspect descriptions in the sources, you connect parts with Logic Cable and let readers, variable cards and writers work together. The sources here cover the building blocks and the pack's config, but not the mod's full manual, so this section sticks to what they confirm.[4][5]
Building a network
Everything starts with cables. As the advancement text puts it, you are asked to build a logic network with at least 10 connected Logic Cables, which is a good first milestone. The cable recipe uses Crystallized Menril, so you will want a Menril source early.[4][5]

As the advancement texts describe it, Menril comes from chopping a Menril tree, which is easiest to find in Meneglin biomes. You process Menril Log into Menril Resin and then dry it to obtain Crystallized Menril. The Drying Basin has its own advancement, so it is worth crafting early.[4]

The pack keeps core.general.cacheCableModels on (true), which caches cable models as a rendering optimization. It is a plain rendering option, not a debugging switch like safe mode, which is covered at the end of this section.[7]
Reading the world with aspects
Readers look at a target and expose its state as aspects, which you turn into values. The advancements mention the Block Reader, Inventory Reader, Machine Reader, Redstone Reader and Entity Reader. A few examples of what the aspect descriptions say they can tell you:[4]
- Inventories: aspects can report whether the target has an inventory, whether it is empty, non-empty or full (every slot holds at least one item), and a fill ratio. The fill ratio is the number of non-empty slots divided by the total number of slots.[4]
- Fluids: aspects can report whether the target has a fluid tank, whether it is empty, non-empty or full, the fluid in the tank, and the tank's fill ratio.[4]
- Energy: whether the target handles FE, can provide or receive it, can really have FE extracted or inserted (storage and capacity are taken into account), is empty or full, and its fill ratio.[4]
- Machines: whether the target is a worker machine, has work to process, could start working in its current state, or is currently working.[4]
- World: aspects can report day or night, rain, thunder or clear weather, and whether the target space holds a player, mob, animal, item or other entity. TPS aspects are also described.[4]
Machine Readers can also read the list of recipes from a machine that handles recipes, such as the Crafting Table.[4]
Variables, logic and output
A value read from the world is stored on a Variable Card. The Logic Programmer has its own GUI and can be used to visually create a recipe. Operators then work on the variables. The advancements mention adding numbers, filtering lists, building static and infinite lists, and invoking an operator dynamically. The results can be shown in a Display Panel.[4][5]
The advancements also mention the Materializer, which materializes a variable, and the Proxy, where you create a proxy variable. The Input Variable Transformer and Output Variable Transformer are separate items you craft.[4][5]
On the output side, the advancements describe a Redstone Writer writing a redstone level that a Redstone Reader read. One advancement has you open a door by pointing a Redstone Writer straight at it, using an Entity Reader that matches an entity name. Redstone-writing aspects have a pulse value, a pulse length in ticks, and an option to simulate a Redstone Torch instead of regular Redstone Dust.[4]
The Delayer needs a Variable Card and a Variable Store to craft.[5]

Energy in this pack
Network parts have a base energy consumption set in the config. In this pack's config file, the audio, block, effect, entity, extra-dimensional, fluid, inventory, machine, materializer and network readers and writers are set to 1. The Delayer is set to 2. The mono-directional connector is set to 32 and the omni-directional connector to 128. A Display Panel uses 1 without a variable and 2 with one, and the static and dynamic light panels are set to 0.[7]
The pack sets general.general.energyConsumptionMultiplier to 0, which is the energy usage multiplier for networks. The maximum network energy transfer rate, core.general.energyRateLimit, is 2,147,483,647.[7]
For power, the Generator (shown as Generator) is crafted from an Energy Battery and a furnace.[5]

Performance and safety options
The config has several options that matter for big networks, listed below with the pack's values. They are ordinary settings in the file; only safe mode, in the tip after the list, is meant as a temporary fix.[7]
- core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverEnableMultithreading is true, so the ingredient network observer can work on a separate thread. core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverThreads is 4.[7]
- The observer's frequency is bounded by core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverFrequencyMin (5 ticks, the fastest) and core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverFrequencyMax (40 ticks, the slowest).[7]
- core.general.operatorRecursionLimit is 256. It limits how deep an operator's recursion stack can get, which avoids crashes from things like the omega operator.[7]
- core.general.tickUnloadedNetworkElements is false in the pack's config, so network elements do not tick when their chunk is unloaded.[7]
- core.general.recreateCorruptedNetworks is true in the pack's config, so corrupted networks are restored automatically on the first tick.[7]
- general.general.partMinimumUpdateIntervals is empty in the pack. It lets you enforce minimum update intervals for specific parts, with entries in the form integrateddynamics:machine_reader:10, where 10 is the number of ticks.[7]
How do you progress through IntegratedDynamics?
5 parts
Integrated Dynamics progression in this pack is a short chain. You start with logistics basics, turn Menril logs into Crystallized Menril Chunks (the key crafting ingredient), then branch into power and logic. This section follows the pack's quests in order.[2][3]
Tier 1: Logistics basics
The entry quest "Integrated Dynamics" quest asks for a Wrench. It describes the mod as all about moving, managing and storing items. From there the Basic Logistics chapter hands you Variable Card cards and Logic Cable.[2]
Logic Cables don't act like hopper-style pipes, where items go from one inventory into the pipe and then into the next. They skip that middle step, which the quests say also skips a lot of lag. They only connect Importers and Interfaces. A Variable Card goes into a slot of the Importer, and you edit its settings with the + button, for example the Limit for how much is moved.[2][3]
Tier 2: Crystallized Menril Chunks
Nearly everything else needs Crystallized Menril Chunk. The quest chain starts with a Squeezer: put Menril Logs in it and jump on it to get Menril Resin. You can empty it with a Redstone signal.[3]
The resin comes out of 2 sides of the Squeezer. Put a Drying Basin next to it and the basin picks the resin up. After 7.5 seconds you have a Block of Crystallized Menril. Then craft that block into chunks, as "Crystallized Menril Chunks" quest describes.[3][5]

Tier 3: Power and machines
The Energy Battery stores FE, and you need Energy Interfaces to transfer it. Batteries can also be combined in a crafting grid to raise the total storage.[3][6]

Tier 4: Logic and advanced networks
After Variable Cards, the quests move on to the Input Variable Transformer and Output Variable Transformer. These are crafting ingredients for parts that import or export items, fluids or energy. One such part is the Part Fluid Reader, shown below.[3][5]

Endgame: Creative Energy Battery
The pack adds its own recipe for the Creative Energy Battery. It uses Powah energizing, with an Energy Battery and an ATM Star as inputs. The quest "Creative Energy Battery" quest sits in the Creative chapter and unlocks after the Fully Automated ATM Star quest. It calls this the easiest infinite energy storage.[5][8]

How does IntegratedDynamics work with other mods?
4 parts
Integrated Dynamics doesn't live alone in this pack. Its Menril and Chorus materials and its Variable Transformers show up in recipes from other mods, and the pack adds or changes a few of those links itself. Here's where the connections are.[5]
The Integrated family: Tunnels, Terminals, Scripting and Crafting
The add-on mods all build on ID items. The Input Variable Transformer is described in the quests as a crafting ingredient for stuff that does importing, whether it be items, fluids or energy. It, the Output Variable Transformer and the Logic Director all turn up across the add-on recipes below.[3][5]
The Tunnels interface parts for items, fluids and energy all start from the Crystallized Menril Chunk, which the quests call the main crafting ingredient of ID. Importer and exporter parts are then made from those interfaces.[3][5]

Drying Basin crafting
The Drying Basin and the Mechanical Drying Basin are also used by recipes from other Integrated mods. There are basin recipes for Menril Glass, Chorus Glass and Mendesite, using Menril Resin or Liquid Chorus. Each has a hand version and a mechanical version, so you can use either basin.[5]

Changes the pack makes
Several links to non-Integrated mods are added or changed by the pack itself. Mystical Agriculture's Menril Essence recipes for Menril Log, Menril Berries and Menril Sapling are marked as changed by the pack. The sapling also uses Nature Essence.[5]

Productive Metalworks casting can make both the Crystallized Menril Chunk (from Menril Resin) and the Crystallized Chorus Chunk (from Liquid Chorus), each with a Nugget Cast, and the pack marks both recipes as changed. That gives you another route besides the Squeezer and Drying Basin chain from the quests. The Productive Bees centrifuge recipes for Menril Resin (giving a Crystallized Menril Chunk and Wax) and Liquid Chorus (giving an Ender Pearl and Wax) are also marked as changed by the pack.[3][5]

Energy
The Energy Battery is one of the pack's power storage options, alongside Powah Energy Cells, Mekanism Energy Cubes and AE2 Energy Cells. You can combine Batteries in a crafting grid to increase the overall storage. To transfer energy in and out of a Battery you need Energy Interfaces.[3][6][9]
The pack also adds a Powah energizing recipe that turns an Energy Battery into the Creative Energy Battery, using the ATM Star. The quest "Creative Energy Battery" quest says you need 4 Energy Batteries and a Star, and that the batteries have to be charged up to the integer limit.[5][8]

Which All the Mons quests use IntegratedDynamics?
2 parts
Integrated Dynamics shows up in five quest chapters in this pack. Most of it sits in the Integrated Dynamics chapter, which walks you from your first Squeezer to advanced logic. Basic Logistics, Basic Power, New Beginning and Creative each pick up a few pieces.[2][3][6][8][9]
The Integrated Dynamics chapter
The first quests in this chapter list a quest named Integrated Dynamics as their prerequisite. That is "Integrated Dynamics" quest, which opens the Basic Logistics chapter. Here is the order from there.[2][3]
- a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" asks for a Squeezer. Place Menril Logs in it and jump on it to turn them into Menril Resin. A Redstone signal empties it.[3]
- a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" is a side quest for Menril Berries, which give you Night Vision for a short time when eaten.[3]
- a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" asks for a Drying Basin. The resin goes to 2 sides of the Squeezer, and a basin placed next to it picks the resin up. After 7.5 seconds it turns into a Block of Crystallized Menril.[3]
- "Crystallized Menril Chunks" quest asks for the Crystallized Menril Chunk. You craft it from Blocks of Crystallized Menril, and it is the main crafting ingredient of the mod.[3]
- Three quests unlock after the chunks. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" asks for the Wrench, which rotates or destroys certain blocks. "Logic Cables" quest asks for the Logic Cable. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" asks for the Energy Battery, which stores FE and needs Energy Interfaces to transfer it.[3]
- The Energy Battery quest leads on to the powered machines. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" asks for the Generator, which makes FE from burnable fuels like Coal. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" asks for the Mechanical Squeezer, and also needs the Squeezer quest. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" asks for the Mechanical Drying Basin, and also needs the Drying Basin quest.[3]
- After Logic Cables, "Variable Cards" quest asks for the Variable Card. You put it in an Importer slot and edit it with the + Button, for example to change the Limit on how much is moved.[3]
- After Variable Cards come a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" for the Input Variable Transformer and a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" for the Output Variable Transformer.[3]
- a quest in "Integrated Dynamics", titled Getting Advanced, asks for the Logic Programmer. It lets you set variable values, such as an item to filter on.[3]
- Two quests follow the Logic Programmer. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" asks for the Portable Logic Programmer, which does the same job but works anywhere. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" asks for the Variable Store, which acts like a chest for your variables and also works in advanced networks.[3]
Other chapters
- Basic Logistics: "Integrated Dynamics" quest asks for the Wrench. It is followed by a quest in "Basic Logistics" for the Variable Card and a quest in "Basic Logistics" for the Logic Cable. The quest text says the mod is all about moving, managing and storing items.[2]
- Basic Power: "Integrated Dynamics: Energy Battery" quest asks for the Energy Battery after a quest called Storing Power. It notes that you can combine batteries in a crafting grid to increase the overall storage.[6]
- New Beginning: a quest in "New Beginning" accepts any one of four energy storage blocks, including the Energy Battery, and comes after a quest called Power.[9]
- Creative: "Creative Energy Battery" quest asks for the Creative Energy Battery after a quest called Fully Automated ATM Star. The text says it needs 4 Energy Batteries and a Star, with the batteries energized up to the integer limit.[8]
Which IntegratedDynamics config options matter?
5 parts
These are the values the pack's Integrated Dynamics common config file sets. The file's own descriptions are quoted where they matter, and the sources here do not show the mod's defaults, so I can't tell you which of these the pack changed.[7]
Energy and power
- general.general.energyConsumptionMultiplier is set to 0. The config describes it as the energy usage multiplier for networks.[7]
- Base consumption for the connectors: general.general.connectorMonoDirectionalBaseConsumption is 32 for the mono-directional connector, and general.general.connectorOmniDirectionalBaseConsumption is 128 for the omni-directional connector.[7]
- general.general.variablestoreBaseConsumption is set to 4 for the variable store.[7]
- machine.coal_generator.energyPerTick is set to 20, described as the coal generator's energy production rate in RF/t.[7]
- machine.energy_battery.capacity is set to 1,000,000 as the default capacity of an energy battery. machine.energy_battery.energyRateCapacityFraction is 2000, described as the 1/X fraction of the battery capacity allowed to be transferred per tick, and machine.energy_battery.minEnergyRate is 2000, described as the minimum energy transfer rate per tick.[7]
- The mechanical squeezer and the mechanical drying basin are each set to an energy capacity of 100,000 and a consumption rate of 80 (machine.mechanical_squeezer.capacity, machine.mechanical_squeezer.consumptionRate, machine.mechanical_drying_basin.capacity, machine.mechanical_drying_basin.consumptionRate). machine.mechanical_squeezer.autoEjectFluidRate is 500, described as how many mB per tick can be auto-ejected.[7]
Part reach and update speed
- machine.general.maxPartOffset is set to 32, described as the maximum offset in blocks a part can target. machine.general.maxDirectionalConnectorOffset is 512, described as the maximum offset in blocks a directional connector can look for its target.[7]
- general.general.partsMinimumUpdateInterval (the minimum update interval enforced for all parts) and machine.general.defaultPartUpdateFreq (the default update frequency for new parts) are both set to 1 tick. general.general.partMinimumUpdateIntervals is an empty list, so no per-part minimum intervals are listed.[7]
- core.general.operatorRecursionLimit is set to 256. The config says this limit is to avoid game crashes when building things like the omega operator.[7]
Book and progression
item.on_the_dynamics_of_integration.obtainOnSpawn is set to false, so the info book is not set to be obtained automatically when the player first spawns. item.on_the_dynamics_of_integration.bookRewards is also false, so the info book is not set to give item rewards for tutorial completion.[7]
Troubleshooting and network safety
- core.general.safeMode is false. If a network is crashing your game, the config says you can fix it by temporarily enabling this option: while it is on, networks stop ticking and values are not shown and evaluated.[7]
- core.general.recreateCorruptedNetworks is set to true, which the config describes as corrupted networks being automatically restored on the first tick.[7]
- core.general.tickUnloadedNetworkElements is set to false. When true, network elements tick whether their chunk is loaded or not.[7]
Performance and odds and ends
- Cable rendering: core.general.cacheCableModels and machine.cable.dynamicShape are both set to true. The config says to disable dynamic shape if FPS issues would occur.[7]
- The ingredient network observer is set to work on separate threads (core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverEnableMultithreading is true) with up to 4 threads (core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverThreads). Its observation frequency is set between a fastest of 5 ticks (core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverFrequencyMin) and a slowest of 40 ticks (core.general.ingredientNetworkObserverFrequencyMax).[7]
- item.menril_berries.nightVision is set to true, so the berries give the night vision effect when eaten. worldgeneration.menril_log_filled.filledMenrilLogChance is 10, a 1/x chance that Menril Wood is filled with Menril Resin when generated, so a higher value means a lower chance.[7]
- core.general.analytics is set to false. This option controls whether an anonymous mod startup analytics request may be sent.[7]
