IntegratedTunnels is a mod in All the Mons 1.3.0, where it is version 1.11.0. Transfer other stuff over Integrated Dynamics networks. (Summary from the mod's Modrinth page.)

What is IntegratedTunnels?

1 part

IntegratedTunnels adds the parts that actually move things around an Integrated Dynamics network. This pack ships version 1.11.0. You get importers and exporters for items, fluids and energy, plus interfaces for those same three types.[1][2]

An interface reads whatever inventory it sits on, a bit like an AE2 Storage Bus: a chest with 100 Cobblestone and an interface on it means your network has 100 Cobblestone. To move something, you put an importer or exporter on one inventory and an interface on another, join them with logic cables, and slot a variable card into the importer or exporter. The quest book says importers can move up to the integer limit, over 2 billion.[2]

There are also world variants, like Part Importer World Block and Part Exporter World Fluid. The quest book is clear that the plain Part Importer Fluid does not place or take fluid sources in the world. It only moves fluids from one tank to another.[2][3]

Where it sits in the quest book

Both chapters that cover it are in the Logistics group. Basic Logistics is chapter 33 of 70 and has 38 quests. It opens with the Laser IO quest, and its "Item Importing" quest and "Fluid Importing" quest quests come after the logic cable and variable card quests. The other 35 quests in that chapter are in the quest book.[3]

The main run is in the Integrated Dynamics chapter, chapter 34 of 70 with 27 quests. In order, it goes like this:[2]

Tip: Variable cards are what start an import or export, so slot one into the importer or exporter. If you only want to move items, you can leave the card mostly alone and just change the limit.[2]

How do you get started with IntegratedTunnels?

5 parts

Integrated Tunnels gives you the interfaces, importers and exporters that move items, fluids and energy around. In this pack's quest book, the Basic Logistics chapter points you to Integrated Dynamics as the least laggy pipe option and recommends it. The Integrated Dynamics chapter that follows walks you through the basics, and this section follows the same order.[2][3]

First, get Crystallized Menril Chunks

Everything starts with Crystallized Menril Chunk, the main crafting ingredient of Integrated Dynamics. Menril trees can be found in Meneglin biomes. Put Menril Logs in a Squeezer and jump on it to get Menril Resin. A Drying Basin placed next to the Squeezer picks up the resin and, after 7.5 seconds, turns it into a Block of Crystallized Menril. Craft that block into chunks and you are ready for the rest. The quest "Crystallized Menril Chunks" quest covers this step.[2]

Next, make an interface

Interfaces read whatever they are placed on, a bit like an AE2 Storage Bus. If a chest holding 100 Cobblestone has an interface on it, your network counts 100 Cobblestone. The item interface is the one to start with, and one craft gives you 4 of them.[2][4]

Tanks and power sources use their own versions, the Part Interface Fluid and the Part Interface Energy. The quest a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" accepts any of the three.[2][4]

Then, Logic Cables and a Variable Card

The Logic Cable (Logic Cable) works differently from other pipes. Other cables act like hoppers, moving items into the cable and then out again. Logic Cables skip the middle step, which also skips a lot of lag. They are just for connecting importers and interfaces. A Variable Card (Variable Card) is what starts an interaction like importing items. The quest "Variable Cards" quest comes after the Logic Cables quest in the book.[2]

Make an importer and an exporter

The quest book says the Input Variable Transformer is a crafting ingredient for the importing parts, and the importer recipe below uses it. The Importing quest comes after the Input Variable Transformer quest. The item importer pulls from the inventory it sits on.[2][4]

Crafting Shapeless

The exporter works like the importer, but it sends items out instead. Its quest comes after the Output Variable Transformer quest.[2][4]

Fluid and energy versions exist too, such as the Part Importer Fluid and the Part Importer Energy.[4]

Hook it all up

  1. Place an interface on an inventory, like a chest or a tank.[2]
  2. Place an importer on the inventory you want to pull from. If you want to send things instead, use an exporter.[2][3]
  3. Connect them with Logic Cables.[2]
  4. Put a Variable Card in the importer or exporter. If you just want to move items, change the Limit for how much gets moved.[2][3]
Tip: Right-click an importer or exporter and use the + next to the inserted variable to open the transfer settings. The Logic Programmer lets you write an item into a Variable Card, so that importer or exporter only handles that item.[2]
Watch out: The fluid importer only moves fluids from one tank to another. It does not place or take fluid sources in the world. The quest book also says energy importing or exporting had problems with Flux Plugs and Points.[3]

The pack sets the base energy usage of the item importer and the item exporter to 1, and the item interface to 0. See general.general.importerItemBaseConsumption, general.general.exporterItemBaseConsumption and general.general.interfaceItemBaseConsumption. The Item Importing quest "Item Importing" quest in Basic Logistics repeats these steps. Eight more quests in that chapter are only in the quest book itself.[3][5]

How does IntegratedTunnels work?

7 parts

IntegratedTunnels is all about parts that move things between your logic network and the world around it: items, fluids and energy. Each part has a job (interface, importer, exporter, or a world version of those), and each one costs a little energy to run. Here is how the pieces fit together in this pack.[5][6]

Interfaces: the doorways into the network

The Part Interface Item, Part Interface Fluid and Part Interface Energy are the base parts the others are built from. The network can count how many valid interfaces it has for item storage and for fluid storage, and it can read the total and the maximum amount of items or fluids it holds. It can also read a list of everything stored, or the count of one specific item or fluid.[4][6]

Interfaces are free to run here: the base consumption for the item, fluid and energy interfaces is 0 in this pack.[5]

Crafting makes 4 interfaces at once, and the fluid and energy interfaces also make 4 per craft.

Filtering interfaces

The Part Interface Filter Item, Part Interface Filter Fluid and Part Interface Filter Energy let you control what passes through. A filter can apply to insertions into the network, to extractions from the network (views included), or both. If you leave the filter switched off for one direction, there is an option to let everything through in that direction instead.[4][6]

The mod's advancements show what this is good for: exposing an inventory's contents only during daytime, or only passing items from a certain mod. There is also a passive IO option that decides whether the target may insert into or extract from the network, and a separate one that lets anything through regardless of the filter.[6]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: integratedtunnels:crafting/part_interface_filter_item

The fluid and energy filtering interfaces are crafted from the matching interface type.

Importers and exporters

Importers pull things into the network and exporters push things out. There are versions for items (Part Importer Item, Part Exporter Item), fluids (Part Importer Fluid, Part Exporter Fluid) and energy (Part Importer Energy, Part Exporter Energy). Each one acts when its boolean variable is true: for example, an item exporter exports items if the boolean is true.[4][6]

The variable you feed in can also shape what gets moved. These are the options the mod describes:[6]

  • Blacklist: everything except the items in the given list is handled.[6]
  • Empty is any: an empty value matches everything, otherwise it matches nothing.[6]
  • Exact amount: ingredients only move if their slot contains exactly the given amount. Matching check options for stack size, fluid amount and energy amount say that only exactly that amount may move in one tick, not less.[6]
  • NBT matching for items and fluids: require an NBT tag, require the given tag to be a subset or a superset of the stack's tag, and check nested tags recursively.[6]
  • Slot-based predicates: check slot by slot instead of treating stacks as one pool.[6]
  • Round robin: iterate interfaces in circular order and ignore their priorities.[6]
  • Craft: craft the instance if it is not present in the network.[6]

The mod also has advancements for more specific setups, such as exporting items into an inventory until it holds 10 items, or using the Enchantable Operator to export only enchantable items.[6]

World importers and exporters

The world versions interact with the world instead of a storage block. The World Block Importer (Part Importer World Block) picks up blocks and the World Block Exporter (Part Exporter World Block) places them. World item, fluid and energy parts exist for both directions, such as Part Importer World Item, Part Exporter World Item, Part Importer World Fluid, Part Exporter World Fluid, Part Importer World Energy and Part Exporter World Energy. They can also work on the entities they face, for example exporting items, fluids or energy to them or importing from them.[4][6]

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: integratedtunnels:crafting/part_exporter_world_block

Crafting Shapeless

Recipe id: integratedtunnels:crafting/part_exporter_world_item

World parts have extra aspects. You can break a block only if it produces drops, and you can match the item form of a block instead of its dropped items. Offsets on each axis go from 0 to 1, pitch and yaw go from -180 to 180 degrees, and entity velocity goes from 0 to 25. For entities, an index picks the n-th entity, and -1 always picks a random one. Tag lists work too: one advancement has you place any log with a World Block Exporter using the logs tag.[6]

A few pack settings affect block breaking. Items are ejected into the world when a broken block's drops do not all fit into the target, instead of being voided (core.general.ejectItemsOnBlockDropOverflow is true). The block importer blacklist (core.general.blockImporterBlacklist) is empty, so no blocks are blocked from being imported. Particles and sounds play when tunnels interact with the world (core.general.worldInteractionEvents is true).[5]

Player Simulator

The Part Player Simulator acts like a player. It can click with any item or with an empty hand, simulate a continuous click (otherwise each click takes one tick) and simulate sneaking. One advancement has you click with a Diamond Sword using it.[4][6]

Energy use in this pack

Every part has a base energy usage set in the pack's IntegratedTunnels config. For the world parts and the Player Simulator it depends on whether the part has a variable connected, and the cost jumps a lot once it does.[5]

Transfer limits and sleeping

The maximum network fluid transfer rate is 2,147,483,647 (core.general.fluidRateLimit).[5]

To save performance, importers and exporters go to sleep when nothing changes. They must fail to process for 3 ticks (core.general.inventoryUnchangedTickCount) before they can sleep, and then they wait 10 ticks (core.general.inventoryUnchangedTickTimeout) before checking their targets again.[5]

Tip: If an item handler reports inconsistent movement while simulating, the pack ejects the items into the world instead of voiding them (core.general.ejectItemsOnInconsistentSimulationMovement is true). So if items appear on the ground near a tunnel, check the target inventory first.[5]

How do you progress through IntegratedTunnels?

4 parts

IntegratedTunnels doesn't have numbered tiers in this pack. Your progression follows the quest book instead. The mod's parts are taught inside the Integrated Dynamics chapter of the Logistics group (chapter 34 of 70), with a shorter set of importing quests in the Basic Logistics chapter next to it (chapter 33 of 70). Here's the order the quests lead you through.[2][3]

Step 1: Crystallized Menril and interfaces

Everything starts with Crystallized Menril Chunks, which the quest "Crystallized Menril Chunks" quest calls the main crafting ingredient of Integrated Dynamics. You get them by squeezing Menril Logs into resin, drying that into a Block of Crystallized Menril, and crafting the block into chunks.[2]

Once you have chunks, a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" asks for an interface. Interfaces read whatever inventory they sit on, a bit like an AE2 Storage Bus. The pack's recipes make 4 interfaces per craft.[2][4]

Step 2: Cables, Variable Cards and transformers

After the chunks you move on to Logic Cables, which only connect importers and interfaces, and then "Variable Cards" quest. A Variable Card goes into the importer or exporter and controls what and how much gets moved.[2]

The card quest leads into the Input Variable Transformer and Output Variable Transformer quests. Those are the gate to the next parts: a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" comes after the input transformer, and a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" comes after the output one. The importer recipes below use the input transformer, the exporter recipes the output one.[2][4]

The Basic Logistics chapter has its own walkthrough quests, each placed after the Logic Cable and Variable Card quests: "Item Importing" quest, "Fluid Importing" quest and "Energy Importing" quest. Each one asks for an importer and its matching interface. Importers can move over 2 billion at the integer limit.[3]

Watch out: The Energy Importing quest warns that importing or exporting with Flux Plugs and Flux Points gave problems. The fluid importer only moves fluids from one tank to another and never places or takes fluid sources in the world.[3]

The quest a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" then wraps up the basics: put an interface on one inventory, an importer or exporter on another, connect them with cables and add a Variable Card. Two more notes follow it. One covers interface settings: ticks per operation (10 ticks is one operation every 0.5 seconds), priority and channels. The other covers the importer and exporter menu.[2]

Step 3: World parts, filter interfaces and the Player Simulator

The Importing and Exporting quests also accept the world versions of the parts, such as Part Importer World Item and Part Exporter World Block. The pack's recipes for them are below. The quests I have don't explain what the world versions do, so check them in-game.[2][4]

Step 4: Getting advanced

The chapter continues with a quest in "Integrated Dynamics". It lets you set variable values, for example an item or fluid for filtering. Put the resulting Variable Card in an importer or exporter and it only moves that item. From there the book unlocks the Portable Logic Programmer, the Variable Store and an Integrated Crafting interface for autocrafting, followed by a terminal part that shows crafting jobs.[2]

Tip: If you only want to move items without fuss, a plain Variable Card in the importer with an adjusted limit is enough. Save the Logic Programmer for when you want to filter.[2][3]

How does IntegratedTunnels work with other mods?

2 parts

IntegratedTunnels builds directly on Integrated Dynamics in this pack. Every recipe for an IntegratedTunnels part in the pack uses an Integrated Dynamics item. The recipes below show the whole chain.[4]

The crafting chain

Everything starts with the interfaces. There is an item, a fluid and an energy version, and each recipe makes 4 at a time. Crystallized Menril Chunk is the Integrated Dynamics item in all three recipes.[4]

The fluid and energy interfaces have their own recipes, which also use a Crystallized Menril Chunk.

Importers and exporters come next. You turn an interface into an importer with an Input Variable Transformer, or into an exporter with an Output Variable Transformer. Item, fluid and energy each have their own version.[4]

How the quest book connects them

The IntegratedTunnels parts show up in the "Integrated Dynamics" chapter, in the Logistics group (chapter 34 of 70 in the book). The chapter has 27 quests, and 6 of them are in the quest book but not covered here, so check the book for those.[2]

The same chapter also covers getting Menril, since the chunks are the main ingredient. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" says Menril Seeds can automate Menril Berries, Menril Logs and Menril Saplings. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" says Menril Bees can automate Crystallized Menril Chunks.[2]

Which All the Mons quests use IntegratedTunnels?

2 parts

IntegratedTunnels shows up in two neighbouring chapters of the Logistics group: Basic Logistics (chapter 33 of 70 in the book) and Integrated Dynamics (chapter 34 of 70). Basic Logistics comes first and gives you a quick tour of the importers. The Integrated Dynamics chapter then walks you through the whole setup step by step.[2][3]

Basic Logistics chapter

This 38-quest chapter covers several logistics mods. The Integrated Dynamics side starts with "Integrated Dynamics" quest, which leads to a quest in "Basic Logistics" and a quest in "Basic Logistics". Those two are the prerequisites for the three importing quests below.[3]

Integrated Dynamics chapter

This chapter has 27 quests. It begins with the Menril basics: "Integrated Dynamics" quest, then the Squeezer and Drying Basin, then "Crystallized Menril Chunks" quest. Several quests branch off that last one, and the IntegratedTunnels ones sit in that branch.[2]

  1. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" asks for any one of Part Interface Energy, Part Interface Item or Part Interface Fluid. It explains that interfaces read whatever inventory they sit on.[2]
  2. "Logic Cables" quest covers the cables that connect importers and interfaces. After it comes "Variable Cards" quest.[2]
  3. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" and a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" both follow the Variable Cards quest. The input transformer is described as a crafting ingredient for things that import.[2]
  4. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" follows the input transformer. It accepts any of the item, fluid or energy importers, or the world block, world item, world fluid and world energy importers, such as Part Importer World Block.[2]
  5. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" follows the output transformer. It accepts the matching exporters, such as Part Exporter Item, Part Exporter Fluid and Part Exporter World Block. The quest says they work like importers, only they export.[2]
  6. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" is a checkmark quest that comes after the interface, importing and exporting quests. It sums up the setup: an interface on one inventory, an importer or exporter on another, cables between them, and a Variable Card in the importer or exporter.[2]

Two more checkmark quests follow, a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" and a quest in "Integrated Dynamics". The first explains the interface settings: side, ticks per operation, priority and channels. The second explains the importer and exporter menu, including the "+" next to a variable that opens the transfer rate settings.[2]

After those the chapter moves on to a quest in "Integrated Dynamics", which lets you set variables for filtering. a quest in "Integrated Dynamics", a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" and a quest in "Integrated Dynamics" branch from it.[2]

Which IntegratedTunnels config options matter?

5 parts

All of IntegratedTunnels' options live in one file, config/integratedtunnels-common.toml. The sources I have show the values this pack uses, but not the mod's own defaults, so I can't point out which of these the pack changed. Here is what the pack sets for the options you're most likely to care about.[5]

Energy usage of tunnels

Each importer, exporter and interface has its own base energy cost option.[5]

World importers, exporters and the player simulator

The world-facing tunnels each have a Disabled option for when they have no variable and an Enabled option for when they do. Without a variable the base cost is 1, for example general.general.importerWorldBlockBaseConsumptionDisabled. With a variable it is 32, for example general.general.importerWorldBlockBaseConsumptionEnabled. This pattern applies to the world block, item, fluid and energy importers and exporters.[5]

The player simulator follows the same idea but costs more with a variable: general.general.playerSimulatorBaseConsumptionDisabled is 1 and general.general.playerSimulatorBaseConsumptionEnabled is 64.[5]

Tip: If your power is tight, use the variable-based world tunnels sparingly. In this pack they cost 32 base energy (64 for the player simulator), against 1 without a variable.[5]
